German is the official and primary language spoken in Munich (Germany) is one of the 23 official

Worldwide, German is spoken by approximately 100 million native speakers and also about 80 million
non- native speakers. German is the primary language of about 90 million people in the European Union

Munich is one of the most populous of Germany just behind Berlin and Hamburg cities, in all the
metropolitan area of Munich it extends over an area of 1.301km2 rate and has a population of almost two
million inhabitants,of which with a population rate of 1.944 million inhabitants,of which 25 municipalities
and cities and 65.5 % corresponding to the city of Munich respectively

varieties are Riesling and Silvaner , the latter prepared from white grapes , also known wines made from
fruits like Apfelwein apple wine produced in southern Germany .

RELIGION
The predominate faith is Catholicism, particularly in southern areas and in Lower Franconia. According to
the last religious census of the German Bishops Conference, Munich (Bavaria) is one of two states with
absolute majority Catholic population (56.4% in 2007).
On the other hand, the Evangelical Church (21%), has a significant presence in large parts of Franconia.
Pope Benedict XVI was born in Marktl am Inn in Upper Bavaria and was archbishop of Munich and
Freising

Economy
The history of Munich is so flattering. Compared to otherGerman cities, Munich has the strongest economy
and also boasts of the lowest unemployment rate (5.6%). It is the economic center of southern Germany
and is considered a global city. Nor is it surprising that houses the headquarters of Siemens AG
(electronics), BMW (car), MAN AG (truck manufacturer, engineering), Linde (gases), Allianz (insurance)
and Munich Re (reinsurance). Among cities with more than 500,000 inhabitants purchasing power it is
highest in Munich (26.648 Euros per inhabitant) as of 2007.
Munich is also a center for biotechnology, software and other service industries. Aircraft engine
manufacturer MTU Aero Engines, the space and defense contractorEADS, the maker of injection molding
machines Krauss-Maffei, the camera and lighting manufacturer Arri, the semiconductor firm Infineon
Technologies. DRAM Company Qimonda, as well as many foreign companies like Precision In addition,
McDonald's and Microsoft have their German or European headquarters in Munich.
In the financial sector, Munich is home to Hypo Vereinsbank, Bayerische Landesbank and insurance
companies like Allianz and Munich Re.
Munich has earned a reputation as the publication of the capital of Europe. It is home to the Sddeutsche
Zeitung, one of Germany's largest daily. Also home to Germany's largest public broadcasting network,
ARD, and its largest commercial network, Pro7-Sat1 Media AG and the Burda publishing group. One of
the biggest and most famous movie production studios, the Bavaria Film Studios is also located in the
suburb of Grunwald.

According to the last religious census of the German Bishops Conference, Munich (Bavaria) is one of two states with absolute majority Catholic population (56.4% in 2007).
