Scientists have identified this commonly used sealcoat as a major source of dangerous chemicals in streams and lakes, and as a significant health risk to the public, especially young children. These chemicals, which will are discussed in depth in the webinar, are found in the sediments of nearby lakes and streams from pavements coated with this type of product.
Our expert speaker is Dr. Barbara Mahler, a Research Hydrologist with the USGS at the Texas Water Science Center. She is part of the Contaminant Trends in Lake Sediments (CTLS) team, which uses cores of sediments from lakes to reconstruct the contaminant histories of watersheds.
M-Sand is manufactured sand
M-sand is crushed aggregates produced from hard granite stone which is cubically shaped with grounded edges, washed and graded with consistency to be used as a substitute of river sand.
Globally, natural sand and gravel extraction is becoming less of an option. New pit location opportunities are fewer, further from the marketplace and harder to secure. In the past, natural sand and gravel extraction has been the backbone of the aggregate industry; this is increasingly less the case. Operators now wish to produce high-quality manufactured sand.

Solar and terrestrial radiation, dissipation and distribution in soil-crop sy...Dr. ANIKET SUNIL GAIKWAD
Solar and terrestrial radiation measurement stands as a fundamental component of soil physics research. Instruments like pyranometers and pyrgeometers are employed to quantify incoming solar radiation and outgoing terrestrial radiation. These measurements are pivotal for deciphering the energy balance within soil-crop systems, enabling researchers to gauge how much energy is absorbed, reflected, or transmitted by the soil surface. Various soil properties, such as texture, moisture content, and organic matter, play significant roles in influencing radiation behavior, while the structure and density of crop canopies impact how radiation is intercepted and distributed within the crop. Predicting evapotranspiration, the amalgamation of water evaporation from soil and plant surfaces with transpiration, is of paramount importance in agriculture and water resource management. Soil physics researchers have developed models to forecast evapotranspiration, relying on either aerodynamic or canopy temperature-based models. These models take into account factors such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, and solar radiation to compute water loss from the soil-crop system accurately. Canopy temperature serves as a vital indicator of plant water status. When plants experience water scarcity, they tend to exhibit higher canopy temperatures due to reduced transpiration. The concept of leaf diffusion resistance is closely intertwined with canopy temperature; it denotes the resistance to water vapor movement through leaf stomata and is intimately related to plant water deficit. To measure canopy temperature and explore its connection to plant water stress, infrared thermometers are frequently employed by researchers. Infrared thermometry, often referred to as infrared radiometry or infrared guns, is a pivotal tool in soil physics. These devices facilitate non-invasive temperature measurements of various surfaces, including soil, plants, and objects. By analyzing the temperature of these surfaces, researchers can make informed inferences about their moisture content and water status. This technology is particularly advantageous in precision agriculture, where it aids in determining the optimal timing and location for irrigation. The realm of soil physics is experiencing a rapid evolution, characterized by several recent trends and innovations. Remote sensing technologies, such as satellites and drones, are increasingly utilized for data collection related to soil and crop conditions. Machine learning algorithms are being harnessed to analyze vast datasets, enhancing predictions in soil physics, such as crop yield forecasting and soil moisture estimation. Soil physicists are also diligently investigating the effects of climate change on soil properties and processes to develop adaptive strategies for agriculture. Precision agriculture, empowered by advances in soil physics, focuses on precise soil, water, and crop management for enhanced yields and sustainability.

Concrete is the most versatile, durable and reliable construction material on the planet. But sustainability becomes the major concern as the conventional concrete is not eco-friendly due the large carbon footprint of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) industries. Efforts are needed to develop an eco-friendly material with minimal environmental damage. A concrete with complete replacement of OPC by pozzolanic materials like fly-ash, Rice Husk Ash (RHA), Ground Granulated Blast-furnace Slag (GGBS) etc. having a polymeric binder is called Geopolymer concrete (GPC). In Geopolymer concrete, most of the research work has been focused on fly ash based binders. However, the RHA has the potential to be used as a source material in Geopolymer concrete as the RHA is a pozzolanic material containing about 85-90% of silicon dioxide (SiO2).This paper briefly reviews the work carried by various researchers and scientists on RHA based Geopolymer concrete.

Analysis of Admixtures and Their Effects of Silica Fumes, Metakaolin and PFA...IJMER
This paper presents a review of the properties of fresh concrete including workability, heat
of hydration, setting time, bleeding, and reactivity by using mineral admixtures fly ash (FA), silica
fume (SF), ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), metakaolin (MK), and rice husk ash (RHA).
Comparison of normal and high strength concrete in which cement has been partially supplemented
by mineral admixture has been considered. It has been concluded that mineral admixtures may be
categorized into two groups: chemically active mineral admixtures and microfiller mineral
admixtures. Chemically active mineral admixtures decrease workability and setting time of concrete
but increase the heat of hydration and reactivity. On the other hand, micro filler mineral admixtures
increase workability and setting time of concrete but decrease the heat of hydration and reactivity. In
general, small particle size and higher specific surface area of mineral admixture are favourable to
produce highly dense and impermeable concrete; however, they cause low workability and demand
more water which may be offset by adding effective super plasticizer.
The potential of rice husk ash in concreteShaswat K. Das
The main objective of this paper is to study Rice Husk Ash (RHA), it’s property and potential to be used both as partial and full replacement of cement in concrete production. As the RHA is a pozzolanic material containing about 85-90% of silicon dioxide (SiO2), it has the potential to be used as a supplementary cementitious material (SCM) in conventional cement concrete as well as a source material in Geopolymer concrete. This paper presents a precise overview of work carried out on RHA by various scientists and researchers both in cement concrete and Geopolymer concrete.
Keywords- Rice Husk Ash, Geopolymer, Pozzolanic material, supplementary cementitious material

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
