The Italian composer Vittorio Monti was born in 1868 in Naples. He attended the
Conservatoire of San Pietro a Majella where he studied composition and violin, as
well as playing mandolin. When he was in his thirty s he was asked to conduct in
Paris for the Lamourex Orchestra, during this period Monti composed a number of
