The training was organized by Plan International, NICAS Pune and CYSD .
George Couros is a principal focused on innovative teaching and learning. The document discusses creating a compelling vision for the future of education and making meaningful connections with students. The goal is to inspire learning by making it exciting and allowing students to pursue their passions using technology and by connecting their interests to classroom topics.
For the first time in history, there are four generations in philanthropy: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen X and Gen Y (Millenials)… and coming soon Gen Z. Although each generation is philanthropic, they have individual preferences for how they are engaged by nonprofits. This session will demonstrate how important it is to create lifetime givers by reaching out to the younger generations (under age 40) now as well as define the key characteristics of these four generations and their habits for charitable giving. Learn strategic entry points to successfully engage these younger generations in philanthropy, both as donors and in the multigenerational development office. Ultimately, today’s annual donors are tomorrow’s major donors; we need to cultivate them today.
Learning Objectives:
• Find out how and where to find and cultivate young philanthropists
• Identify myths and realities of multigenerational philanthropy
• Learn what your organization needs to be aware of to manage a multi-generational development office.

This document discusses the importance of modeling learning behaviors for students and connecting with them on a human level. It argues that technology alone does not create engagement or meaningful change - educators must model open learning, see everyone as both teachers and learners, and forge relationships through social media to inspire innovation. The biggest shift for teachers is changing their mindset, not just acquiring skills, and focusing on empowering students rather than just compliance.
The internet, mobile, and social network revolution has ushered in a new generation of creators, shaking up the once sacrosanct boundaries that separated producers and consumers.
1) The document discusses how to move from isolated pockets of innovation to a culture of innovation in schools. It emphasizes focusing on relationships, learning experiences for staff, and narrowing the focus to meaningful creation and an open culture.
2) Key steps outlined include focusing on learning over technology, creating meaningful experiences for both students and staff, narrowing the focus, embracing an open culture and building leadership based on strengths.
3) The overall message is that innovative change is a human endeavor requiring a shift in mindset to view everyone as both teachers and learners and empowering an intrapreneurial spirit through an open culture of collaboration, creativity and meaningful learning experiences.

This document discusses how nonprofits can harness social media and connectedness to create change. It argues that small actions like sharing content, having conversations, and crowdsourcing can add up when people are passionate about an organization's work. When done effectively, these actions can help nonprofits with engagement, fundraising, monitoring their reputation, identifying new supporters, and mobilizing people to create change at larger scales. The key is for nonprofits to listen to supporters and have two-way conversations in order to build relationships and drive adoption of their missions.

The document discusses the role of coaching style leadership in the 21st century. It explains that grassroots social change is powerful when communities engage people to work towards everyone's well-being rather than individual gain. The inside out approach means the designer facilitates co-creation by working with community members to find solutions, rather than having sole ownership. The outcome should be a service or process created for and by the community.

1) The document discusses how youth engage with social media and online communities through "hanging around", "messing around", and "geeking out" to extend friendships, pursue interests, and gain expertise.
2) It explores how social networking and digital tools can facilitate new forms of social action and activism among youth, such as organizing online campaigns and fundraising.
3) Several examples are provided of student-led projects that use social media to raise awareness for social and environmental causes on a global scale.
The document discusses how AIESEC, a youth organization, can remain relevant to young people in a changing world. It suggests that AIESEC should focus on representing youth voices, advocating for issues important to young people, and creating opportunities aligned with the challenges youth identify. To do this effectively, AIESEC needs to understand key trends affecting youth through research like "youth speak." It also must determine how to represent all young people, not just university students, and influence policies through strategic partnerships. The goal is placing youth at the center of AIESEC's work so it can enable action and inspire young people to address issues they care about globally.
This document discusses engaging and motivating young people in social action. It provides insights from surveys that most young people want to volunteer and participate in social action related to causes they care about. Successful programs discussed include using social media influencers to promote an anti-abuse campaign, award programs to recognize volunteers' achievements, and jobs programs to help volunteers transition to employment by articulating skills developed. The conclusions emphasize considering both causes and activity types, exploring more online opportunities, helping youth reflect on skills, and supporting those seeking jobs.
This document provides an integrated marketing plan for the non-profit organization ipourlife. Key elements of the plan include expanding the target market to 18-24 year olds and dedicating a significant portion of the campaign to social media promotions and special events to reach this target. The main focus of the campaign is "the need is everywhere" to highlight ipourlife's work locally and internationally. The $25,000 budget will be used for social media, traditional media, website updates, and events. Goals include increasing social media followers and donations while creating a recognizable brand.

2. insight
Fact: Nowadays youth is perceived as
indifferent, inactive and even ignorant about
global problems.
Insight: Youth is more aware of global problems
as most predict, but mostly they just lack interest
to actually get involved.
Fact: Nowadays youth is becoming more and more
opportunistic (even egoistic) in their actions – if
they don’t see any benefit in it, they will not
participate.
Insight: Youth interest is strongly influenced by
their ever changing personal interests and current
social trends. Not only they like to stand out as
individuals, but will also follow the cool trend
setters.
3. solution
Establish the social movement that youth will be
drawn to follow. The movement of cool individuals
shaping cool community doing cool things for the
world.
This can be established only by giving youth benefit
for themselves to get new knowledge and exciting
experiences for their career future and at the same
time become a visible part of the trendy social
movement.
This will create mutual benefit for those who help
and those who need help.
5. 1.get in
action!
Campaign starts with special Get in Action! event
(similar to TEDx or Keynote) where young activists
share their experience in participating for global
change to motivate and encourage youth to take
action for the better future as well.
Videos of motivational stories are then published on
YouTube potentially going viral to reach wider youth
population around the globe.
6. 2.educate
yourself!
After the event a website activateyourself.com is
launched to address you to get more knowledge
about current global issues (consistent with UN
Millennium Development Goals) and motivate
them to get in action with video speeches of young
activist.
7. 3.activate
yourself!
To really activate youth we give them fun reason to
participate. And what is more fun than a challenging
game with exciting award for the best. Through this
game we bring the movement close to the youth and
make it cool.
8. On the website there is an application form, where
young people up to 30 years old can sign up and
participate in a web game Activate Yourself.
After applying they have 30 days to activate
themselves. Via e-mail they weekly receive
different challenges that have to be accomplished
till the next one. Those involve various actions such
as volunteering in retirement home, collecting food
for the homeless, becoming a sponsor to an
unprivileged child etc. Throughout the “game” they
collect points for each of their active contribution
which gives them the opportunity to become one of
the 10 winning activists who will be able to go on a
global expedition.
The winners will get their own experience, full of
new knowledge for the future and at the same time
people in need will get another active member
to help make a positive change.
9. 4.activate
others!
To also activate friends to join the Activate Yourself
Movement participants are encouraged to share the
game, their own experiences and motivational
videos from the website via social media with
hashtag #activateyourself.
10. 5.start
movement
of the future!
Expedition trips of the winners can be followed via
You Tube videos, social media and special blog on the
website.
The same group of new activists will then also be
invited to be speakers on the following year’s Get
in action! event to give speech about their
firsthand experience of shaping their future
and motivate another round of young people to
become part of the Activate Yourself movement.
