Bauer media is a major international media group that produces over 300 magazines in 15 countries as well as online, TV, and radio stations. Specifically, Bauer produces popular magazines such as Kerrang!, Q, Closer, Gazia, and Heat. The group is a worldwide media empire offering over
300 magazines in 15 countries, as well as online, TV
and radio stations. It produces magazines such as
kerrang!,Q, closer, Gazia and heat.

3. The media institution that may be distributing my media product is Bauer, I have chosen this major
publisher as it has proven to be very successful. It manages a portfolio of more than 600
magazines, over 400 digital products and 50 radio and TV stations around the world. They would
have better distribution to reach my media product to a mass market rather than small scale
audiences, I believe there is a gap in the market for a popular RnB magazine though successful
magazines such as ‘Vibe’ exist I still think the majority of popular music magazines are rock and
pop. The links the distributer has to radio stations and television would make a huge difference to
the success of my magazine as there would be many other ways to advertise my magazine. Bauer
would have a bigger budget to use and therefore would be able to attract more people with add-
ons such as competitions, giveaways and big artists. Bauer Media Group has a 50% stake in the
British television company Box Television, the other half owned by Channel 4. Box Television acts as
the content subsidiary that produces several popular music television channels, which
include:4Music,The Box, Heat, Kerrang!, Kiss, Magic, Smash Hits. Most of Bauer’s magazines such as
‘Q’ are not only magazines, they have their own website, radio and television channels. Which
would be a good advantage for my magazine as I could address more consumers ( for example
those who do not usually buy magazines).

Bauer does not currently produce any RnB magazine,
only Rock and pop. This is one of the reasons why I have
chose Bauer, not only they will be of advantage to me
but I could attract them more business as an RnB
magazine will show the variety that they can produce.
