“Chemical Engineering”
1. Chemical Engineering is a branch of science that applies physical
sciences (physics and chemistry) used to produce, transform,
transport, and properly use chemicals, materials and energy.
2. It mainly concerns with the design, manufacture, operation,
management & maintenance of industrial plant.
3. It also deals with the laboratories involving Chemical or Bio-chemical
process.
4. A chemical engineer has also to deal with environmental and material
issues.
5. Chemical engineering is involved in improving production through art,
techniques & process design.
6. Chemical engineering is responsible for carrying out industrial
process like petroleum, refinery, food & beverages, medicines &
fertilizers etc.
7. Chemical engineer discover the process and develop them to work
economically.
8. Chemical engineering is particularly adaptable in solving the
technological problems of modern society.
9. Chemical engineer make invaluable contributions to an improved
quality life.
10. Chemical engineering also includes production of
pharmaceutical products to cure diseases, fertilizers and pesticides
that is being used in growing field at large scale.
11. Textile industries manufacture fabrics to cloth us & petroleum
products to warm our houses.
12. Chemical engineering is involved in improving the quality of fuel
& combustion at which our vehicles & other transportation is based
upon.
13. It is also deeply involved in preventing & treating pollution
including water pollution, air pollution & so on.
14. In addition to these, chemical engineers are actively developing
advanced materials used in the communications and space
industries, food & beverages industries and modern electronics.
15. Chemical engineering concerns with the creation of plans,
specification & economic analysis for constructing plants & their
modification.
16. The plant design is limited by the number of factors including
funding, government regulation & safety standards.
17. In this field safety standard is the most prominent sector of any
industry for its development & advancement.
18. Unit Operations like, Crystallization, Filtration, Drying &
Evaporation are used to prepare reactants & further for purifying and
separating its products.
19. Chemical engineering is involved in controlling energy transfer
in reactors (Nuclear Reactors).
20. Unit Processes (Nitration & Oxidation) involve the conversion
of material by biochemical, thermo chemical & by other means.
21. Process design in chemical engineering requires the definition
of equipment types and sizes as well as how they’re connected
together & the materials of construction.
22. Chemical engineering are involved in using their to evaluate the
efficiency& make recommendations forthe improvement of chemical
plants.
23. In transformation phenomena there are certain industrial
methods including Fluid Dynamics, Mass Transfer, Heat Transfer,
Energy Transfer & transport of other chemical species respectively.
24. Chemical engineers use computers to control automated
system in plants.
25. Chemical engineers develop economic ways of using material
& energy.
26. Chemical engineer use chemistry & engineering to turn raw
materials into usable products.
27. Chemical engineers are also involved in waste management &
research field. Both could make extensive use of computers.
28. Chemical engineers are also involved in the research field
where they are tasked to perform experiments to create a new &
better ways of conserving natural resources & to make these
processes safer.
29. In this field, chemical engineers use their knowledge in
selecting the plant equipment for the product to minimize costs &
increasing profitability.
30. They may also be involved in its daily operation to make the
process industries safer.
31. They may be permanently employed at chemical plants to
manage operations.
32. Alternatively, they may serve in a consultant role to problems,
manage process changes & otherwise assist plant operators.
33. Crude oil is a naturally occurring as a unrefined petroleum
product, composed of hydrocarbons & other inorganic material. Its
refinery also deal with the chemical engineering.
34. Crude oil is refined to produce usable products such as,
gasoline, diesel & other petro chemicals.
35. Chemical engineer is also involves smelting. Actually smelting
is nothing but the extraction metallurgy (specially “Fe” Iron) to
produce a base metal from its ore (a type of rock that contains
sufficient minerals with elements including metals.)
36. They’re indeed involved to deal with waste reduction which has
to conserve resources for future generations.
37. Waste reduction is simply we can say, a site about doing more
with less or using finite resources.
38. Chemical engineers deal with the nuclear waste & transfer it to
the coated container that is 300m under the earth crest.
39. Nuclear waste posses radioactive rays including Ƴ-rays that
are most dangerous due to their highest penetrating power.
40. Chemical engineer use stoichiometric calculations to analyze
quantitative relationship between reactants & products.
41. They maintain specific parameters like, Temperature, Pressure
& Concentration of the reaction in ordered to get the maximum
possible yield product.
42. They are also to deal with “Chemical Kinetics”.
43. Chemical kinetics includes, Rate of Reaction, Mechanism of
Reaction & Optimum conditions of the reaction in chemical
engineering field.
44. Plant location plays very crucial role, generally chemical
industries including plants are sated up in the farther areas of cities
where there is no population.
45. In this field, waste productof one industry may also be used for
the production of other useful products by other industries.
46. Chemical engineers, determines the optimum condition at
which reactants in lesser quantities will be used for the production of
products at very large scale.
47. Chemical engineering involves the advertisementof the product
to attract the consumer in the lower cost & better quality.
48. Before utilizing any material the chemical engineer finds
whether the material is toxic, flammable, non flammable, hazardous
etc.
49. Chemical engineering is involved in the refining & extraction of
different minerals like gold, coal ,silver, crude oil and other minerals
found in earth’s mines.
50. Chemical engineering is involved in improving and making our
Eco-system more healthier.
