Teaching approach
Lesson organized following PPP procedures and combining it with the Communicative Approach as far as
possible.
Integration of Skills
Listening and speaking skills will be integrated in the oral activities. Students will produce language orally and
interpret it through activities such as: repeating and/or answering to simple questions, producing simple
dialogues. Visuals and teacher strategies will aid students´ comprehension.
Reading and writing skills will be integrated via textual activities such as labelling, matching, completing,
finding information, etc. SS will associate written forms and pronunciation.

Assessment
2. SS will be assessed by checking if they identify new and revised vocabulary when named, or, if they can
interpret new language. Theywill be asked questions to checkunderstanding, and be encouragedto produce
vocabulary and the structures presented.

I´ll call the role now, while you get in the same groups you worked last class. Silence, please¨

Warm up 10´
Purpose: to checklast class´ activity.

T will have three bags for each group: one with the names of each of the SS in a strip of paper, another with some
activities written, and another one with past time expressions:

T will explain SS that they will have to ask and answer questions about the activities they have done. T will model an
example with one of the groups taking papers from bags: ¨Lookhere I´vegot Maira – buynewclothes – last week.Now
I´ll have to make a question can you help me?¨
T writes it on the board: Did Maira buy new clothes last week? The answer will probably be no, so T will ask them to
look at the calendars they did last class and find Maira´s activities. ¨Maira didn´t buy newclotheslast week. Shewent to
the sports centre¨
Transition: ¨Well done kids! Now let´s move to something new!¨

Purpose: to further expose the learners to the target language.

T shows SS the following pictures and asks SS: ¨Look at these pictures! Can you recognize any of these? What are
they?¨ ¨They are inventions. Do you know something about them? Who invented them? When?
T: Good! We are going to learn about inventions and inventors. Would you like to know about them? Great! We´re
going to watch a short video, it goes fast so please, only pay attention and try to read the information, then we´re
watching it again.
