This study investigates the impact of various combustion chamber geometries on the performance and emissions of a single-cylinder diesel engine fueled with rice bran biodiesel and diesel blends. Three piston designs—standard toroidal, hemispherical bowl, and shallow toroidal re-entrant—were analyzed, revealing that the shallow toroidal re-entrant piston generally improved brake thermal efficiency and reduced carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbon emissions compared to the others. Additionally, the research highlights the importance of biodiesel derived from rice bran for reducing harmful emissions while enhancing engine performance.
