The study provides basement depth estimates of the Sokoto Sedimentary Basin in northwestern Nigeria through spectral depth analysis of aeromagnetic data. It identifies areas of significant sedimentary thickness that may be potential sites for hydrocarbon accumulation, with depths varying from 0.36 km to 2.85 km. The findings suggest that the sedimentary thickness increases from the southern to the northern parts of the basin, indicating regions that warrant further exploration for hydrocarbons.
