Monty Hall Problem Essay
Model Details An agent based model was constructed to compare strategies within the Monty Hall
problem. In the model, the agents take turns playing the guessing game from the Monty Hall problem.
In each iteration, the model generates a single agent who plays one round of the guessing game. There
are two strategies available for the agent; to stay with the originally guess or to switch to remaining
door. The model determines and stores how the agent has fared in each iteration. Setup At the start of
the life cycle, Monty Hall , a game show host, randomly places a car (a prize) behind one door and
goats behind the remaining two doors. Guess In the next stage, the agent guesses a door concealing the
car. The agent picks a random door each round.

Fallecence In Ender s Game
If a person was taken hostage by the government to create a dangerous chemical and then it is used to
kill a species without you knowing are you a bad person? This is the circumstance that Ender was in
Ender s Game. This is extremely apparent in John Kessel s ¨Creating the Innocent Killer¨, in his article
on Ender s Game. Kessel uses what Ender was forced to do and writes his article by twisting the
information and turning them into logical fallacies. Throughout the article he bends the scenarios that
Ender has faced and makes him seem as this monstrous killer but is slightly true and false. Kessel is
false but true in his assessment on Ender for three reasons: Ender acted only in self defense, Ender has
no say in his life and doings, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In John Kessel s article I agree with the fact that Ender was manipulated from the beginning as he
says, The extreme situation Card has constructed to isolate and abuse Ender guarantees our sympathy.
After Ender is manipulated into entering Battle School. But after he makes this statement, and draws a
false conclusion. He believes this is all an attempt at sympathy and is the reason we believe his actions
are justified. The manipulation though was not for sympathy it was cruel and lead him not have a
choice in his life and doings. Such as In Ender s Game when at the when when Ender was talking to
Graff: Of course we tricked you into it. That s the whole point, said Graff. It had to be a trick or you
couldn t have done it. It s the bind we were in. We had to have a commander with so much empathy
that he would think like the buggers, understand them and anticipate them.(298) There is no doubt that
Ender was manipulated because Graff said it himself he was tricked and really had choice for his
future. This is another argument that disproves Kessel s statement. Also according to Shmoop they
also believe that Ender was tricked into killing to

Nt1310 Unit 3 Activity 1 Summary
Activity 1 presents the challenge of detecting vehicles in front of a stereo camera and determining the
distance to them using stereo data. The team accomplished this by creating a disparity map from the
two rectified images and then plotting a point cloud based on this data. A cascaded object detector is
then used to get regions of interest (ROIs) where vehicles are in frame. These ROIs are then used to
extract the depth of the vehicle in the point cloud. The result is a distance to the identified vehicle.
A.1 Computer Vision Function Descriptions
One frame from each camera is pulled into the program and then rectified based on calibration of each
camera. The calibration process takes in the camera calibration parameters of the cameras, the
rotation, and translation of the second camera in relation to the first camera. After being rectified
based on the calibration, a disparity map is created. A disparity map is an intensity map that shows the
measurements of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For activity 2, the frame is run through a thresholding function that creates a binary image based on
the histogram levels that are similar to that of a stop sign. Any pixel that falls within the levels are then
converted to a value of one and the rest are set to zero. The binary image is then put through two
morphological operators, open and close. The open morphological operator gets rid of smaller clutters
of pixels as defined by the parameters that are passed in to the function. The close morphological
operator fills in clusters of pixels that are the shape of the parameter passed to the function. In this
case, the shape is an octagon just like a stop sign. The last step is to run the binary image through blob
analysis to get the ROIs that are of a specified minimum size. Once the ROIs have been found, they
are passed into the cascade object detector for verification of

The Farmer s Dilemma Book Report
B. The detective is in this story was a smart ,teenage, girl, Deila. One of five words that I would
describe her would be... Curious She is always looking for adventure and mystery. She is the oldest
and always trying new things so her little sister can learn from her mistakes. One example in the text
my exploration had two main objects: one, to see more of the building, because ( creepily or not ) it
was by the far most impressive thing I ever being able to claim as my own, and that provoked and me
burning curiosity to see every nook and cranny. Stubborn Deila is stubborn because she can be hard to
deal with, since she is a typical teenage girl who cannot go anywhere without cell service. Deila fights
with her parents a lot and actually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then thunder had struck,so loud that my ears went momentarily numb. It came in rolls, constantly and
defeating, rumbling all the way into the center of my chest. I stepped away from the window. I started
to have the odd feeling that this was, on level, weirdly personal. No Deila it s just a storm. An act of
nature. But the room around me grew darker. And it wasn t the kind of darkness that comes with the
nightfall. Something caught my eye at the seam where the ceiling and wall met above the window. A
dark oily looking fog crawled along the plaster, winding its way down the vines of the wallpaper as if
it were the part of the design. Slowly, I turned around. A pulsing layer of black smoke filled the room.
I lost myself watching it slide down towards me. , as the smoke descend the walls, its movement
hypnotizing. It seemed to breathe, somehow pausing with each inhale, going faster with each
exhale...... I lost myself in watching it slide down towards me. Then I became vaguely aware of the
horrible creaking noise, like a building was going to collapse. Thumping Footsteps in the hall outside.

The Palatine Chapel At Aachen
The Palatine Chapel at Aachen, Germany is an example of Early Christian medieval architecture and
one of the earliest examples of Carolingian architecture. The Palatine Chapel was contrasted between
the years of 790 and 805 by architect Odo of Metz. Metz created the chapel for Emperor
Charlemagne, who ruled during the second half of the eighth century. Charlemagne was a strong new
force that emerged on the continent, and his ruling brought out new ideas, architecture and religion to
the people under his ruling. It was under Charlemagne, that the new dynasty of Carolingian was
created, and with his expansion, he brought this dynasty to many different places around the continent.
Carolingian architecture is influenced by styles from past western capitals, this implies The Palatine
Chapel as it is influenced from past architecture as well. He admired many other architectural pieces
and used many other pieces as inspirations for one of the earliest examples of the Carolingian style. It
is noted that the chapel was a strong way to represent the religion of Christianity, however it can also
be said that the chapel was a way to represent Charlemagne and all the things he wished for the people
under his rule. The making of the chapel in more ways is strongly connected to the Christian religion.
Charlemagne was a very powerful man who first seized power when he was able to attain much of
Western Europe from the years 768 to 814. He ruled over which would be modern day Germany,

Is Avoidance A Fundamental Worth Among Most Health...
Abstract
Avoidance is a fundamental worth among most health organizations. Even so, numerous health issues
will exist in spite of all precautionary treatments and availability of life saving medications. A
substantial amount of illnesses in poorer countries is triggered by diseases and or mishaps: for
example viruses, oxygen deficiency, respiratory illnesses, dehydration, wounds, hemorrhaging, acute
myocardial, infection and more widespread diseases like AIDS/HIV and Ebola. The delivery of
appropriate treatment and lifesaving drugs for serious illnesses is not a main concern for a lot of health
organizations in unindustrialized countries. This paper will look at indications demonstrating the
necessity to change these actions and to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adults and children alike are unable to receive simple healthcare because clinics and medications are
in short supply. Given these situations, poverty stricken areas create an abundance of infections and
diseases. Poverty areas also lend to an epidemical lack of education and insufficient knowledge. The
lack of education, particularly of the female populace, has been associated with underprivileged health
concern in under developed countries.
INTRODUCTION
In addition to the above mentioned contributors to poor health, environmental diseases can be traced
back to a lack of water, vector borne illnesses, appalling surroundings, poor air quality, contaminated
elements and universal environmental ups and downs. Defensive practices exist which would decrease
the problem of disease from these threats; however efficient integration of these movements into
policy has remained an obstacle for the governments of these under developed countries. Predictions
claim that within the next 30 years, the greatest world populace progression will transpire in the rural
areas of these poorer countries. This growth will continue to contribute to drastic environmental and
health vulnerabilities (Environment and Health, 2015).
History, Background and Statistics
In 2000, the UN General Assembly, in order to promote environmental sustainability, established
global goals with specific targets that would address sustainable development, healthcare
developments and reduce poverty. Those

situation
The Wise Choice Process
1. What s my present situation? (Describe the problem objectively and completely.)
My present situation is being married, full time worker, full time student. right now I feel as though I
don t have a complete grasp on what to do to better my life. College is my main priority, because I
know I need a good education in order to accomplish the future career I want, but It is somewhat hard
to focus on classes because of how stressed I get over having a job and having a husband. There are so
many things I need to pay for and so much I need to help my husband out with. Dropping out of
college is out of the question. I am going to stay in college no matter what. I just need to find a way to
balance school, work and marriage, as well as maintain my stress.
2. How would I like my situation to be? (What is your ideal future outcome?)
My ideal future outcome is to get my Associate of Science Nursing by 2019 or 2020 and dive right
into my career right after I graduate. In order to achieve this, I would like to keep my job that works
according to my schedule, and supports me throughout my college years so that I can focus on school
and not have to worry about my financial stability, be with my husband for the rest of my life will be
perfect. Ideally, I want to control all aspects of my life.

The Future Eaters
Taming the fire was the first episode in a documentary series called The Future Eaters which detailed
the hypotheses laid out by Dr Tim Flannery regarding the ecological effect of early colonisers on the
Australian continent. Tim Flannery is a palaeontologist who was a senior research scientist for the
Australian museum at the time of the documentary s release. The article summarised in this essay was
a series of responses to key points from the documentary, submitted by other experts in the field of
ecological effects of human colonisation. In addition to this episode, an article written by Dr David
Bowman titled The Impact of Aboriginal landscape burning on the Australian biota was reviewed to
further discuss the points made by Flannery. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were multiple issues identified in opposition to this claim, the first being the lack of evidence
for contemporaneity between the arrival of humans with the extinction of the megafauna. Without
consensus on these two time periods inferences about the cause of megafaunal extinction cannot be
made. Judith Field suggests that the site at Cuddie Springs demonstrates long periods of co habitation
between humans and now extinct megafauna, which generates issues in the rapid extinction aspect of
Flannery s hypotheses ( Taming the Fire , 1998). In addition Bowman (1998) also proposes the
evidence for primarily human induced megafaunal extinction is unsubstantial and possibly caused by
numerous factors including climate and habitat changes (pp.

Discussion Of The Linguistic Factors In Macbeth
Chapter Five
Discussion and Conclusion
5.1. Overview
This section presents the discussion on the analysis of the result gathered from the four translations of
two literary books. First, the analysis of the linguistic factors thoroughly. Second, the analysis of the
extra linguistic factors is expressed. Then, it is followed by the conclusion of the study, the
pedagogical implications of the study, and the limitation of the study likewise. Finally, this chapter
ends with some suggestions for further research.
5.2. Discussion of the Linguistic Factors
With respect to the linguistic factors namely: semantic elements, grammatical elements, lexical
elements, and stylistic elements, it was shown that in translation of the book Macbeth, in all these four
elements, the bestseller translation followed the Reiss indicators more than the non bestseller
translation did. However, when it comes to the book Waiting for Godot the numbers were totally
different. That is to say, in all elements, except for the stylistic factor, the non bestseller translation ...

all factors, the Ashouri`s translation (2014) again gained the highest percentage in following the Reiss
model; except for the place and the speaker factor in which both the bestseller and the failure
translation got the same numbers. However, in Waiting for Godot translation, the numbers were not
equal and there were times when the bestseller reached the peak and some other time the failure was
in top place. Here again in subject matter and an affective implication both the bestseller and the non

The Birth Of Florence Nightingale, A Pioneer Of The Modern...
May 12, 1820 marked the beginning of a revolutionary and exciting era of nursing characterized by
the birth of Florence Nightingale, a pioneer of the modern nursing profession for her work as a nurse,
educator, researcher, and an environmentalist in the nursing profession (Alligood, 2014). Nightingale
developed a number of nursing theories regarding the environment and effective care for patients and
refined her theories to focus on the health of houses, personal hygiene, and petty management
(Alligood, 2014). These canons were crucial in the creation of a nursing era focused on health
promotion and disease prevention. One preventable disease from Nightingale s time that is still
prevalent today is cholera. Cholera is a condition characterized by diarrhea, vomiting, and leg cramps,
resulting in severe dehydration or death due to the bacteria, vibro cholerae (Centres for Disease
Control and Prevention, 2014). Cholera is spread through consumption of water or food that has been
contaminated with fecal bacteria, and as such is preventable through education programs, improved
access to clean water, and proper personal hygiene (World Health Organization, 2016). Médecins Sans
Frontières uses these measures, in addition to the administration of oral vaccines, to prevent Cholera
in South Sudanese refugees. The Médecins Sans Frontières cholera prevention program relies on
Florence Nightingale s nursing theories of health of houses, personal hygiene, and petty management

Case 13 2: Scotch Whisky in China: A Taste of the Good Life
1. Why are Diageo, Pernod Ricard, and other marketers of global spirits brands localizing advertising
campaigns in emerging markets?
Diageo, Ricard, and other marketers of global spirits brands are localizing their advertising campaigns
in emerging markets because no two countries or their inhabitants are alike. Every country has a
diverse set of consumers that have specific tastes and preferences based on geographical location,
religion, age, religion, sex, education, and social and economic class as well as consumer perceptions

He goes on to describe the different segments which include the guanxi men, who are status driven
men ages 35 to 45 whose consumption occurs during networking as they spend the majority of their
time setting up business deals (Keegan Green, 2011). Another group for Diageo s China market
segmentation and consumption category is women; list the same age bracket as the guanxi men, who
are strong and independent (Keegan Green, 2011). As stated in previous text, as emerging markets
GDP continue to increase in emerging markets so too will the aspirational classes and the thirst for
Scotch. This and the relaxation of legal issues as the world evolves will control and ultimately
increase the consumption habits of Scotch whiskey consumers globally.
3. Why are some spirits products and brands strictly local, while some have global potential?
The choice to remain strictly local or explore their potential in the global market is determined by
several factors within the brand itself. This all based on the resources the brand has that will or will
not allow them to expand globally given the opportunity. This also includes the brands ability to
understand and respond to their target culture in their product design and advertising. There are
numerous local spirits brands in emerging markets that produce spirits specific to their culture. This
will hinder then if ever they decide to expand in the global

The Conviction Of Slavery In The 18th Century
To add to the less humane English laws compared to those of the French laws, they also used torture
as a public spectacle to deter potential offenders. Under these laws, the enslaved could be gibbeted,
castrated, branded with hot irons, dismembered and even locked in dungeons for unlimited periods as
punishment for insubordination. 7 The whites in the French West Indies all regarded the laws and
respected the rights of slaves unlike the British planters. Under the slave system in British colonies,
Europeans who killed their human chattel while administering punishments committed no criminal
offences, as one report of 1788 states: Very little measure appears to have been assigned by any
general laws, to the Authority of the Master in punishing Slaves. 8 The British thought of them as
inferior, The Barbados legislature put the matter succinctly in 1688, when it provided a solemn court
for capital cases but omitted the usual jury of twelve men, on the ground that the accused being British
slaves, deserve not, from the Baseness of their condition, to be tried by the legal trial of twelve men of
their Peers, or Neighbourhood, which truly neither can be rightly done, as the Subjects of England ...

Both Man s Fate and Woman in the Dunes exemplify the ideas of existentialism. Existentialism as
existence being absurd with no meaning. In order to deal with life s absurdity, you must invent your
own purpose and individual system of value. In Man s Fate, existentialism is expressed by the
decisions the characters make and the way the characters fulfill their decisions no matter the
consequence. For example, Ch en creates his own meaning of life through joining the revolution to
fight for communism. In the beginning of the novel, Ch en assassinates a man believing it will bring
success to the revolution. He then ties his meaning in the revolution and in life to killing. Ch en also

The House Of Vanity Presents As A Supernatural
THE HOUSE OF VANITY presents as a supernatural, short thriller. The setting of the manor helps
creates an ominous and gloomy tone fitting for this story. The storm also adds to the chilling
ambiance. The story is driven by themes about vanity, destiny, fate, free will, and the idea of evil.
While there are definite strengths in the short, the short would also benefit from building upon those
strengths. As mentioned, the setting is eerie. The idea of a fortuneteller/clairvoyant is a smart story
choice. There s an intriguing connection between Madame and the TS Eliot. The opening scene with
Garrison and the Madame helps create nice suspense and anticipation. Garrison is believable as a
broken man, desperate to change his destiny. The Madame also feels authentic as the fortuneteller.
There s a solid inciting event with the murder and the suicide. The scream in the background nicely
foreshadows Matilda, although another creative choice is to actually show young Matilda walking into
the room. On a small note, the scene transition from the reading to showing Garrison back at home
does feel a bit jarring and rough. Perhaps end with Madame Sosostris slamming down a tarot card,
with the sounds of thunder, and then overlap the sound of the storm to the scene at the Murbank s
home. The story is propelled forward when Matilda seeks help from the Madame. It s another smart
story choice. Her goal is clear: get answers. The stakes are more personal than physical. Matilda doesn

Theme Of The Movie Toy Story
An overall theme of the Disney Pixar movie, Toy Story, is that when a person struggles with envy,
they will consequently find themselves in difficult situations and as a result, will gain the opportunity
to recognize their fault. This theme is revealed through various plot elements such as conflict, and plot
chronology. Through the observation of conflict, one recognizes how Buzz and Woody s relationship
changes as Woody s envy dies. In the initial stage of their relationship, conflict can be easily detected
by the audience. This is found when Woody says to Buzz, Listen, Light Snack, you stay away from
Andy. He s mine, and no one is taking him away from me (Lasseter). When the audience witnesses
this, they instantly recognize Woody s envy of Buzz because Buzz is becoming Andy s favorite and
Woody feels like he is being forgot about. Woody s envy drives him to not only speak aggressively to
him, but also encourages him to attack Buzz physically when he later pushes him out of a window.
When the audience notices this aggression, they witness a person vs. person conflict between the two.
This all occurs at the beginning of the film, before the difficult scenario is put upon the protagonist,
Woody. In this movie, the difficult scenario is caused by Woody s jealousy. Specifically, when he
attempts to knock Buzz down a crack in order to hide him from Andy, but instead he accidentally
manages to knock him out the window. As a result, Andy takes Woody because Buzz was nowhere

Telemachus Reflection
Through his journey to Pylos and Sparta, Telemachus, who was born into a very privileged and high
ranking family, learns how to use his inherited social status and connections for his own interests,
which will help him mature into manhood. Telemachus was never old enough to remember what it
was like when his father was around. Since Odysseus left, he has lived with his mom and nurse.
However, for three years, he has been overwhelmed by suitors, who have taken over his house.
Odysseus was never able to show Telemachus how to stand up for himself. Telemachus has been less
than passive when going about doing things to get what he wants. When Athena comes and tells him
that his father is going to come home, he realizes he has been ignoring what he knows is wrong, such
as the suitors throwing parties every night, and that he needs to stop them. He doesn t have any idea of
how he is going to find his father when Athena comes, but he along his way finds that he has many
resources and connections at hand that will allow him to find out what happened to his dad. Athena,
disguised as Mentor, an old friend of Odysseus, encourages Telemachus to talk to Nestor. Telemachus,
no more shyness, this is not the time!/ We sailed the seas for this, for news of your father // So go right
up to Nestor...// Press him yourself to tell the whole truth:/ he ll never lie the man is far too wise (3.16
22) Here, Athena is encouraging Telemachus to be assertive, to get what the needs to know to find his
father. Telemachus responds, How can I greet him, Mentor, even approach the king?/ I m hardly adept
at subtle conversation./ Someone my age might feel shy, what s more,/ interrogating an older man. /
(3.23 27) He is intimidated. The irony is that he himself is of the higher class, and if Odysseus had
been home, he would be accustomed to these interactions. This is Odysseus learning that he has high
social status and can enjoy the privileges he was born with, such as being able to talk to the king.
While there, Telemachus learns of the fate of the family of Agamemnon. Agamemnon came home to
find his wife in love with Aegisthus, and together they kill him. Orestes, one of Agamemnon s sons,
avenges his father s murder and kills

daydream. Him acting out this role demonstrated to us that he was very guilty for forgetting what his
wife asked him to get at the store. The transitions happen in a matter of a few words. This causes
surprise and excitement in the reader unlike in the movie. In the movie, you can see that Walter is
going to have a daydream because he seems to be getting hazy and the visual effects cause a
foreshadowing type effect. You can also easily figure out what the dream will be about will be about.
For example in the movie, as Walter is on the phone with an eHarmony consultant, the consultant asks
him What interesting things have you done? in which Walter puts down the phone, the camera zooms
in on his eyes, he runs, jumps off a tower into a building where he is saving a kitten from a burning
building (Stiller). There is this stark contrast where in the movie one can tell that Walter is going to
have his daydream, while in the book it surprises you.
Moreover, the biggest contrast of all that separates the movie and the book is that in the book, Walter
is constantly shifting into his dreams, which symbolize his wife, while in the movie he actively

The Importance Of Poverty In America
Why are people poor in America? That is a question that individuals ask often, when America is one
of the wealthiest countries in the world. Poverty began during the Great Depression, when neither
State and local governments nor private charities had the means to cope with the growing financial
needs of the American people (Poor in America, 2009). Many people come to America in hopes to
have a better life, however they struggle when they are here. Why is this? In the public school system,
today every student s say the Pledge of Allegiance, the ending of the Pledge of Allegiance states
justice for all. Young children in America from diverse cultural backgrounds recite this pledge and do
not fully understand its meaning.
When it comes to justice and equality in America everyone is not treated the same. In the 21st century
individuals are still discriminated against because they may fall into a certain category. For example:
darker skin tone/minority, low socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation, etc. If you are
affiliated with any of these categories that are not considered the cultural norms you are an outcast in
today s society. Especially if you are a minority who comes from a low socioeconomic background,
these individuals are not expected to succeed.
In low income communities, they are schools who do not adequately prepare children for success.
Especially, at the high school level where students are not being prepared for college. I learned this

Law of Writs
Law of Writs In common law, a writ is a formal written order issued by a body with administrative or
judicial jurisdiction. In modern usage, this body is generally a court. Writs are extraordinary legal
remedies offered to individuals who do not obtain adequate protection under ordinary law. The main
types of writs are warrants and prerogative but there are many others also. Writs under English law
The origin of writs can be drawn from the English judicial system. The law of writs has its origin from
the orders passed by the King s Bench in England. Writs were issued on a petition presented to the
king in council and were considered as a royal order. Writs were a written order in the name of the

Definition Of Wisdom In Fahrenheit 451
There are many definitions of wisdom but one of the best understanding I have received is that
wisdom is knowledge gained through suffering. Elaine Heath
This quote from Elaine Heath and Larry Duggins book Missional.Monastic.Mainline. mentioned what
I thought of as the quintessential definition of wisdom. Through effort and sacrifice, one can attain
pearls of wisdom such as freedom can t be bought cheap, it s better to die with knowledge than to live
in ignorance, and ignorance is bliss only for those whose minds are vacant of the veracity of facts.
Freedom is the foundation of western democracies and the fundamental argument that people have the
unalienable right to live as they choose and it is undeniable that freedom can t be bought cheap. This
is true since freedom is the reason for the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War, etc.In
Fahrenheit 451, the value of freedom is illustrated in Montag s conversation with Mildred after he
witnessed the immolation of the old lady where he verbalizes his frustration by saying There must be
something in books, things we can t imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house; there must be
something there. (Bradbury 48) In this quote, we can see that the lady choose to stay with her books, a
symbol of freedom and knowledge, which emphasized the idea that freedom is worth giving one s life
to protect. During the Civil War Civil War and Jim Crow era (1865 1965) African Americans had to

3. Introduction
Business ethics is a very extensive subject that is not easy to define. According to Andrew Crane and
Dirk Matten (2004: 5), business ethics is the study of business situations, activities and decisions
where issues of right and wrong are addressed. With an increasing globalization, environmental and
social issues have amplified and therefore companies have to take full responsibility for the wrong
impact their actions have. Gap pays a lot of attention to the social issues and challenges that large
companies face, although it had some ethical issues in the past.
Gap Inc. is a large company in the clothing business with over 3,300 stores worldwide. As one of the
World s Most Ethical Companies in 2012 for the sixth straight year, it might be interesting to
investigate the ethical issues that have risen in the past years (Gap Inc., 2013a).
In the first section, this report outlines several ethical difficulties that occurred. Subsequently, some of
Gap Inc. s solutions for a better ethical policy are described. To conclude, some recommendations are
made, but those are limited because of the quick and good solutions Gap came up with in response to
its problems.

Defense Attorney Ethical Duty
It can be challenging for a defense attorney to maintain a proper balance with respects to ethics owed
to their client and the ethical duty owed to the courts. There are times that a client admits to their
Lawyer new information regarding their case. This can range from knowing more about the details of
a case that could change the course of the trial or it could be an admission by the client that they
actually committed the crime. Attorneys must maintain a level of confidentiality with respects to the
attorney client privileges, in defending their client s Constitutional Rights. Knowing the information,
about the client s guilt will now need to be factored and balanced into the equation of how to best

The attorney client privilege, is essential within these Amendment s.
In the Meredith case, the exception and ruling by the court, had actually given a main focus for the
prosecution and the needs they have to try these cases. While it is a double edged sword for a defense
attorney to know upfront if the client is guilty of such a crime, it can offer a more solid way for the
attorney to prepare a counter rebuttal, against the goals of the prosecution s agenda. Still yet, the
defense attorney must also think of the duty that is owed to the public at large and the justice system.
They must find a way to balance both concepts, as they walk that fine line. Many years have passed
since the Meredith case was before the California Supreme Court and the exception it had made. The
court has made new laws and amended others, that pertain to the Attorney Client privileges and
confidentiality. Certainly, this case would be enlightening to follow up with in Westlaw Next. It would
be interesting to see how many other cases over the years, have shaped our judicial system to address
the issues of confidentiality and the Attorney Client

Sub Saharan Africa has the highest risk of death in the first month of life and is among the regions
showing the least progress. However, Sub Saharan Africa has seen a faster decline in its under five
mortality rate, with the annual rate of reduction doubling between 1990 2000 and 2000 2011. s of
Death One of the major causes of under five mortality is neonatal sepsis. In 2010, 15% of newborn
deaths in Africa can be attributed to infections related to the delivery process. In sub Saharan Africa,
care seeking for pneumonia has improved from 36% in 2000 to 46% in 2010 for rural areas, and from
49% to 52% in urban areas. Diarrhoea causes about 11% of under five deaths worldwide with nine
tenths of these deaths occurring in Sub Saharan Africa. Use of Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS), one of
the three key interventions for diarrhoea, has increased from 24% of children in sub Saharan Africa
receiving ORS in 2000 to 30% in 2011. In 2011, Malaria accounted for a loss of nearly 500,000 lives
of children under five in the world with almost all of the deaths occurring in sub Saharan Africa. In
2000, only 2% of children under five in Africa slept under Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs), this
number increased dramatically to 38% in 2010. Tanzania, Niger, and Mali have increased ITN use to
over 60%. 165 million children under 5 are stunted (low height for age) in their growth due to poor
nutrition during the first 1,000 days of life. Stunting rates in sub Saharan Africa have decreased from
47% in 1990 to 40% in 2011, yet the prevalence is still high. Exclusive breastfeeding is a critical part

a scene where two men, Vincent and Jules, sit in a car having small talk about food in Europe. Parts of
their conversation, however, contain some very resonant discussions of food, place, and identity.

Today, however, it has become so much more. According to a research paper written by Martin
Lindstrom, Branding is all about building emotional ties between consumer and product. (pg. 85)
Emotional connections are made with the synergy of all five senses, and such those brands that are
communicating from a multi sensory brand platform have the greatest likelihood of forming emotional
connections between consumers and their product. (pg. 84); Food and Beverage companies exploit
this fact to sell their products. Consider the Kellogg s breakfast cereal that goes snap, crackle, and
pop: Rice Crispies. Researchers at a specialized Danish laboratories worked to create the particular
sound and feel of the crunch was identifiably Kellogg s. (pg. 85). The crunch, smell, and taste, of the
cereal is accompanied by the tactile feel in your mouth pairing all five senses into one bite. Without
the simultaneous stimulation of multiple sensory receptors, however, the cereal would not be as
memorable. Take watching a scary movie for example. Visuals paired with audio make for a very
scary movie, but if you turn the audio off, suddenly the movie isn t so scary anymore. What we have
learned from Kellogg s is that their success lies in mastering the synergy of all five senses. Food can
stimulate all five senses at the same time to bring back past memories. In Carlos Eire starts his book

would help solve the military issues. Maybe the US is almost the same as the Roman Empire.
One major similarity between the US and Rome is there downfall. They had problems such as
inflation, social classes where the rich were getting even richer and the poor people are getting even

The Word Voodoo Means Spirit Of The West African
The word voodoo means spirit in the West African. It is a religion practiced by much Haitian living in
Haiti as well as the Diaspora. For the majority of Haitians, it is a symbol of solidarity of how they
stood up and fought for their rights and freedom. For others, it is a painful source of reminder of how
their ancestors were cruelly and unjustly treated by the Europeans.Even though the slaves were forced
to convert to the Roman Catholic Christianity by missionaries, they continue to practice their faith. As
a result, the voodoo is born out of the intermingling of beliefs and practices of African culture and the
Catholicism. Nowadays the voodoo plays important role in different integrals politically and
socially. In 1676, when the French colonized this Island, they possessed vast land, fields, pastures and
garden. They needed cheap labor for the grueling work, especially in those sugars plantations. The
slave system has already existed in the 16th century.
Upon their arrival, the owners stripped them of their fundamental human rights. They exploited their
skills and forbade practicing their traditional beliefs. The Europeans look down on African beliefs as
primitive and savage. They did not accept those beliefs as a genuine religion. As a result, they baptized
those poor souls as real Christians. Those slaves continued to practice their faith at their peril. If they

Analysis Of William Wordsworth s Macbeth Essay
STORY ANALYSIS WORKSHEET
The Protagonist: Romney Wordsworth
The Protagonist s Chief Want: Wordsworth chief want is to reveal to the chancellor that every human
being has purpose, worth, and a voice. The value of one s life is not simply based on his or her
conformity to the various edicts set forth by the State. In order to achieve his chief want, Romney is
willing to sacrifice his own life. At the end of the story, Romney relinquishes his life and the
chancellor escapes. After Romney s death, it seems as though the chancellor learned nothing from his
near death experience in Wordsworth room; yet, upon being pronounced obsolete , the chancellor
desperately screams in anguish that his life contains purpose and worth. Thus, Wordsworth fulfilled
his chief want through his life and death.
The Inciting Incident: The inciting incident begins when the chancellor finds Wordsworth guilty of

A Different Mirror By Takaki Essay
Takaki s book, A Different Mirror, offers the multicultural history of the United States. This book
provides the reader with the American experience of Native Americans, African Americans, Mexican
Americans, Irish Americans, Chinese Americans, Japanese Americans, and Jewish Americans. During
this time, America demonstrated manifest destiny and the Master Narrative. They were led by the
belief of white purity, which these ethnic groups threatened. America exhibited supremacy over all of
these ethnic groups. Takaki s work allows me to become aware of the history and the outcomes of
manifest destiny and the Master Narrative.
Some of the behavior, perspectives, and experiences present in the multicultural history of the United
States are: manifest destiny, master narrative, education, labor treatment, interminority racism, and
attempting to prove to be American. Manifest destiny is the belief that America s decision to divide

to their experience and perspective on their viewpoint of American. They were driven out of their land
by a contract signed by a fraction of the Native Americans. Likewise, the Irish Americans were

The Aircraft Wings Are The Primary Lift Producing Device...
The aircraft wings are the primary lift producing device for an aircraft. The aircraft wings are designed
aerodynamically to generate a lift force which is required in order for an aircraft to fly. The basic goal
of the wing is to generate lift and minimize drag as far as possible.
When the airflow passes the wing at any suitable angle of attack, a pressure differential is created. A
region of lower pressure is created over the top surface of the wing while, a region of higher pressure
is created under the surface of the wing. This difference in pressure creates a differential force which
acts upward, which is called lift.
For most aircrafts, where, the wings are the primary structures to generate lift, the aircraft s wings
must generate sufficient lift to carry the entire weight of an aircraft. In modern commercial, fighter
and jet aircraft, the aircraft wings are not only designed to provide the necessary lift during the
different phases of flight, but also have a variety of other roles and functions.
Wing Support:
Cantilevered All the structure is buried under the aerodynamic skin, giving a clean appearance with
low drag.
A cantilever is a rigid structural element, such as a beam or a plate, anchored at only one end to a
(usually vertical) support from which it is protruding. When subjected to a structural load, the
cantilever carries the load to the support where it is forced against by a moment and shear
stress.Cantilever construction allows for overhanging

Art Is An Important Part Of Education
What is art? Is it just painting or can it be a number of creations, such as, music, dancing, theater,
pictures, sculptures, poems, stories, or videos. When I think of art, I think of all of these different
creations listed as art. Art is anything that can inspire a person, or create feelings from looking,
touching, or hearing. The definition of art is the expression or application of human creative skill and
imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be
appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power (google.com). Art is a way for humans to
communicate what they feel in their hearts. Although, some people may not agree that art is an
important part of education without it education could have been lost today. In the past ten years that I
know of, art has slowly been fading away in the educational environment. This can be any subject
from: theater, dance, band, and even just art classes in general. Our education has slowly started to
only focus on core academic classes. While some people in our education system may not perceive
this as a true fact; there is evidence to support that art has declined in public education. For theater and
dance in elementary schools, the percentages of schools making these art forms available went from
20 percent 10 years ago to only 4 and 3 percent, respectively, in the 2009 10 school year. In addition,
at more than 40 percent of secondary schools, coursework in the art was not

Essay On Symbolism In Tangerine
Similar to many other novels, Tangerine, by Edward Bloor is filled with symbolism. The author uses
symbols as a more unseen way to infuse hidden messages or lessons into the story. Although it is
greatly instilled everywhere throughout the book, there is quite a bit of symbolism surrounding and
focusing on Erik Fisher. The main antagonist in this novel is Erik Fisher, Paul s older brother;. He
always gets what he wants, whether he deserves it or not. He s a your basic popular, football star;
athletic, self centered and overly praised. But, Paul is the only one who sees him as he truly is. His
parents coaches and peers perceive him as this amazing athlete, but that, by no means, defines his true
self. I think many can agree that Erik deserves complete humiliation. Not only readers believe thi9s,
but supporting characters in the book such as Antoine Thomas do too. By playing a play that Erik was
not in on or aware of, Antoine embarrassed Erik (and even Mr. Fisher) in his very first Lake Windsor
football game. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It states, His front was clean and white, but his back was now filthy. This is Paul s description of his
older brother after his banana flop incident . The author likely added this vivid sentence to throw in
some symbolism. From the front, or from giving him a look or two, many see Erik as a clean, prefect,
well rounded student, kid and role model. Mr. Costello, his parents, his friends, his coaches, they all
see him this way. However, Paul really is one of the only ones who sees his true color; brown. Nobody
really likes brown. Paul gets the brunt of Erik, or the back of his jersey, symbolically. He sees a dirty,
no good, dishonest, poor sport and person. The direct symbolism here is that Erik s initial impression
on people is the front of his jersey, while his true self is the

  • 3. Fallecence In Ender s Game If a person was taken hostage by the government to create a dangerous chemical and then it is used to kill a species without you knowing are you a bad person? This is the circumstance that Ender was in Ender s Game. This is extremely apparent in John Kessel s ¨Creating the Innocent Killer¨, in his article on Ender s Game. Kessel uses what Ender was forced to do and writes his article by twisting the information and turning them into logical fallacies. He believes this is all an attempt at sympathy and is the reason we believe his actions are justified. Such as In Ender s Game when at the when when Ender was talking to Graff: Of course we tricked you into it. That s the whole point, said Graff. It had to be a trick or you couldn t have done it. • 4. Nt1310 Unit 3 Activity 1 Summary Activity 1 presents the challenge of detecting vehicles in front of a stereo camera and determining the distance to them using stereo data. The team accomplished this by creating a disparity map from the two rectified images and then plotting a point cloud based on this data. A cascaded object detector is then used to get regions of interest (ROIs) where vehicles are in frame. These ROIs are then used to extract the depth of the vehicle in the point cloud. The result is a distance to the identified vehicle. A.1 Computer Vision Function Descriptions One frame from each camera is pulled into the program and then rectified based on calibration of each camera. The calibration process takes in the camera calibration parameters of the cameras, the rotation, and translation of the second camera in relation to the first camera. After being rectified based on the calibration, a disparity map is created. A disparity map is an intensity map that shows the measurements of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Any pixel that falls within the levels are then converted to a value of one and the rest are set to zero. The binary image is then put through two morphological operators, open and close. The open morphological operator gets rid of smaller clutters of pixels as defined by the parameters that are passed in to the function. The close morphological operator fills in clusters of pixels that are the shape of the parameter passed to the function. In this case, the shape is an octagon just like a stop sign. The last step is to run the binary image through blob analysis to get the ROIs that are of a specified minimum size. • 6. The Palatine Chapel At Aachen The Palatine Chapel at Aachen, Germany is an example of Early Christian medieval architecture and one of the earliest examples of Carolingian architecture. The Palatine Chapel was contrasted between the years of 790 and 805 by architect Odo of Metz. Metz created the chapel for Emperor Charlemagne, who ruled during the second half of the eighth century. Charlemagne was a strong new force that emerged on the continent, and his ruling brought out new ideas, architecture and religion to the people under his ruling. It was under Charlemagne, that the new dynasty of Carolingian was created, and with his expansion, he brought this dynasty to many different places around the continent. Carolingian architecture is influenced by styles from past western capitals, this implies The Palatine Chapel as it is influenced from past architecture as well. He admired many other architectural pieces and used many other pieces as inspirations for one of the earliest examples of the Carolingian style. It is noted that the chapel was a strong way to represent the religion of Christianity, however it can also be said that the chapel was a way to represent Charlemagne and all the things he wished for the people under his rule. The making of the chapel in more ways is strongly connected to the Christian religion. May 12, 1820 marked the beginning of a revolutionary and exciting era of nursing characterized by the birth of Florence Nightingale, a pioneer of the modern nursing profession for her work as a nurse, educator, researcher, and an environmentalist in the nursing profession (Alligood, 2014). Nightingale developed a number of nursing theories regarding the environment and effective care for patients and refined her theories to focus on the health of houses, personal hygiene, and petty management (Alligood, 2014). These canons were crucial in the creation of a nursing era focused on health promotion and disease prevention. One preventable disease from Nightingale s time that is still prevalent today is cholera. Cholera is a condition characterized by diarrhea, vomiting, and leg cramps, resulting in severe dehydration or death due to the bacteria, vibro cholerae (Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, 2014). While there are definite strengths in the short, the short would also benefit from building upon those strengths. As mentioned, the setting is eerie. The idea of a fortuneteller/clairvoyant is a smart story choice. There s an intriguing connection between Madame and the TS Eliot. Theme Of The Movie Toy Story An overall theme of the Disney Pixar movie, Toy Story, is that when a person struggles with envy, they will consequently find themselves in difficult situations and as a result, will gain the opportunity to recognize their fault. This theme is revealed through various plot elements such as conflict, and plot chronology. Through the observation of conflict, one recognizes how Buzz and Woody s relationship changes as Woody s envy dies. In the initial stage of their relationship, conflict can be easily detected by the audience. This is found when Woody says to Buzz, Listen, Light Snack, you stay away from Andy. When the audience notices this aggression, they witness a person vs. person conflict between the two. This all occurs at the beginning of the film, before the difficult scenario is put upon the protagonist, Woody. In this movie, the difficult scenario is caused by Woody s jealousy. However, for three years, he has been overwhelmed by suitors, who have taken over his house. Odysseus was never able to show Telemachus how to stand up for himself. Telemachus has been less than passive when going about doing things to get what he wants. When Athena comes and tells him that his father is going to come home, he realizes he has been ignoring what he knows is wrong, such as the suitors throwing parties every night, and that he needs to stop them. He doesn t have any idea of how he is going to find his father when Athena comes, but he along his way finds that he has many resources and connections at hand that will allow him to find out what happened to his dad. Elaine Heath This quote from Elaine Heath and Larry Duggins book Missional.Monastic.Mainline. mentioned what I thought of as the quintessential definition of wisdom. Through effort and sacrifice, one can attain pearls of wisdom such as freedom can t be bought cheap, it s better to die with knowledge than to live in ignorance, and ignorance is bliss only for those whose minds are vacant of the veracity of facts. Freedom is the foundation of western democracies and the fundamental argument that people have the unalienable right to live as they choose and it is undeniable that freedom can t be bought cheap. This is true since freedom is the reason for the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War, etc.In Fahrenheit 451, the value of freedom is illustrated in Montag s conversation with Mildred after he witnessed the immolation of the old lady where he verbalizes his frustration by saying There must be something in books, things we can t imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house; there must be something there. (Bradbury 48) In this quote, we can see that the lady choose to stay with her books, a symbol of freedom and knowledge, which emphasized the idea that freedom is worth giving one s life to protect. • 42. The Aircraft Wings Are The Primary Lift Producing Device... The aircraft wings are the primary lift producing device for an aircraft. The aircraft wings are designed aerodynamically to generate a lift force which is required in order for an aircraft to fly. The basic goal of the wing is to generate lift and minimize drag as far as possible. When the airflow passes the wing at any suitable angle of attack, a pressure differential is created. A region of lower pressure is created over the top surface of the wing while, a region of higher pressure is created under the surface of the wing. This difference in pressure creates a differential force which acts upward, which is called lift. For most aircrafts, where, the wings are the primary structures to generate lift, the aircraft s wings must generate sufficient lift to carry the entire weight of an aircraft. In modern commercial, fighter and jet aircraft, the aircraft wings are not only designed to provide the necessary lift during the different phases of flight, but also have a variety of other roles and functions. Wing Support: Cantilevered All the structure is buried under the aerodynamic skin, giving a clean appearance with low drag. When I think of art, I think of all of these different creations listed as art. Art is anything that can inspire a person, or create feelings from looking, touching, or hearing. The definition of art is the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power (google.com). Art is a way for humans to communicate what they feel in their hearts. Although, some people may not agree that art is an important part of education without it education could have been lost today. In the past ten years that I know of, art has slowly been fading away in the educational environment. This can be any subject from: theater, dance, band, and even just art classes in general. Our education has slowly started to only focus on core academic classes. While some people in our education system may not perceive this as a true fact; there is evidence to support that art has declined in public education.
