5. ELECTRO-MOBILITY IN GREECE.
STARTING POINT AND CURRENT STATUS.
We started talking about electro-mobility
in Greece, at the end of 2013,
when BMW launched BMW i3,
the first electric vehicle in the Greek market.
Very few things happened until 2020,
in terms of developing a holistic national
strategic plan for sustainable mobility.
2018 and 2020 can be considered as milestone years
for electro-mobility in Greece
(2018: Introduction of a national plan,
2020: Implementation of a national program).
xEV segment (electrified vehicles / BEV & PHEV)
is now growing fast.

9. ELECTRO-MOBILITY IN GREECE.
xEV SEGMENT GROWTH. MAIN DRIVERS.
xEV segment growth
is mainly driven by:
• Corporate customers (85%).
• Incentives for retail &
corporate customers (subsidy, lower taxation).
• Incentives for corporate car users
(zero or low car user annual taxation).
• Model availability in many segments & price levels.
• Charging infrastructure deployment
(home, corporate, public – incentives established).
• Increased Awareness.
10. ELECTRO-MOBILITY IN GREECE.
MAIN CHALLENGES.
• Pricing - Cars
(models are not at the level of ICE vehicles
– limited target group, incentives make
xEV models more affordable but not “cheap”).
• Charging infrastructure deployment
(How, Who, Where, Why, Fast enough).
• Charging infrastructure interoperability
(stand-alone chargers, lack of connection
between charging networks).
• Funds to facilitate long lasting incentives.
• Awareness (still not high).
11. ELECTRO-MOBILITY IN GREECE.
OPPORTUNITIES.
• New business
(charging, installation,
mobility services, battery 2nd life,
battery/chargers production etc.).
• Legislation/regulations optimization.
• Unified Public Charging infrastructure
(common platform, seamless process).
• Transition away from fossil fuel dependence.
• Enhanced penetration
of renewable energy sources
(electric energy source mix optimization,
V2G technology, smart charging).
• Sustainable cities
(better air quality, less noise)
12. ELECTRO-MOBILITY IN GREECE.
BMW. STRATEGY.
• Full xEV Product Portfolio:
All BMW electrified models available
as of 2013 in Greece.
Currently, 2 BEV & 10 PHEV in 20 variants
(2 more BEV models till the end of 2021).
• Technical Support at all Service Points.
• 24 months unlimited free
public charging services to customers
(in cooperation with “Fortizo” network).
• “Green” home energy supply program
with significant benefits for BMW Customers
(in cooperation with nrg).
13. ELECTRO-MOBILITY IN GREECE.
BMW. STRATEGY.
• Change of BMW Hellas’
company cars fleet, to PHEV models
in order to reduce mobility carbon footprint.
• Smart charging infrastructure
at BMW Hellas’ premises
(34 AC and 2 DC charging lots).
• Charging infrastructure deployment
at all BMW Dealers.
• New digital services rollout.
