Role Of The Anterior Cruciate Ligament
Most people will never understand the many complexities of the world. The same can be said about
the human body and the different structures that work together to produce movement. Some people
who desire to be in highly competitive sporting environments, will attest to the excruciatingly
painful, life altering moment when they were engaged in play and heard the quintessential pop
sound from their kneeand they are immediately falling to the floor unable to move that knee. This
is usually followed by a diagnosis of an anterior cruciate ligamenttear and within a few weeks,
surgical methods must be taken if the athlete wishes to return to their sport at the same high level.
This paper will seek to properly define what the role of the anterior cruciate ligament (more
commonly called the ACL) is, shed light on the procedures necessary for an athlete to return to
play, and analyze data found through research to determine the likelihood of re injury and,
therefore, the effectiveness of ACL surgery. The anterior cruciate ligament is a ligament that
connects the femur (thigh bone) to the tibia (lower leg bone) and is one of four major ligaments in
the knee (Putukian 1). It is responsible for stabilizing the knee, especially in sports/activities that
require cutting, pivoting, turning maneuvers, landing, sudden deceleration, and planting. It is this
ligament that is responsible for also preventing tibial translation onto the femur. Injury to the ACL
usually happens when

Z For Zachariah Analysis
Everyone seems to think the kind of hardship you ve been thru describes your character. But in
reality, it is what you do with that hardship that really shows it. In Margaret Peterson Haddix s
Running out of time a young girl, by the name of Jessie, has to leave her village in order to help
everyone. She leaves because she has to go get medicine and has to stop her friends from dying.
This was her hardship and she chose to deal with it by helping out. In Z for Zachariah by Robert
c. O Brien, also a young girl, Ann has to deal with her hardship of she thinks the entire world dying
besides an older man who wants to harm her. She deals with it by running away and leaving him
behind. There are many more themes in the story, but the strongest... Show more content on

Although they deal with their hardship in different ways, both ways took courage and were
difficult to do. Both running out of time and z for Zachariah are similar because both main
characters being young girls, ages 13 and 16, have gone through hardship. Along with hardships
they have to also fix it. Deal with it. Both the young girls have chosen to deal with this hardship
with courage. In z for Zachariah it took courage for Ann to finally move out of the house after
Mr.loomis attacked her. On page 177 the author talks about her being nervous by I did not sleep
any more that night. After I got out out of the house, I ran, not thinking where I went, not caring. I
just wanted to get away as fast as I could...my ears were pounding with my own heartbeat Some
might think that getting out of the house was not courage but just protecting herself. While this
may be true, earlier in the book, when Ann had left the house during the night, Mr.loomis almost
shot her. So, by leaving the first time she was almost killed. By leaving a

How A Company Needs Help Expand Into New Markets
A company needs funds to expand into new markets, while governments need money for
everything from infrastructure to social programs. The problem large organizations run into is that
they typically need far more money than the average bank can provide. The solution is to raise
money by issuing bonds (or other debt instruments) to a public market. Thousands of investors then
each lend a portion of the capital needed. Really, a bondis nothing more than a loan for which you
are the lender. The organization that sells a bond is known as the issuer. The bond market(also debt
market or credit market) is a financial marketwhere participants can issue new debt, known as the
primary market, or buy and sell debt securities, known as the secondary market. This is usually in
the form of bonds, but it may include notes, bills.
A bond s price fluctuates throughout its life in response to a number of variables. When a bond
trades at a price above the face value, it is said to be selling at a premium. When a bond sells
below face value, it is said to be selling at a discount. The coupon is the amount the bondholder
will receive as interest payments. It s called a coupon because sometimes there are physical
coupons on the bond that you tear off and redeem for interest. However, this was more common in
the past. Nowadays, records are more likely to be kept electronically. The maturity date is the date
in the future on which the investor s principal will be repaid. Maturities can

First Seed Plants False The Earth
How the First Seed Plants Froze the Earth
With a little bacteria and a little bit of dirt, the first plant on earth was created. This plant was no
more than mats of algae that layered on top of itself in water, but it was a first nonetheless. It was
not until the end of the Ordovician period, some 480 million years ago, that plants began to grow
on land. Bryophytes were the first to grow, which included mosses, hornworts, and liverworts.
Lacking any leaves, these plants went through a Gametophyte stage, reproducing by dividing cells
into spores. Also reproducing with spores, the Lycopodiophyta (Lycopods) evolved simple
microphyll leaves with just one leaf vein bringing sunlight and nutrients in to support the plant.
The beginning of the Silurian Period (440 million years ago) brought vascular plants such as ferns,
with megaphyll leaves, or many veined leaves, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lignins in plants becomes buried over time, not allowing the carbon atoms to release back into
the atmosphere. Two historic climate changes that took place around the same time could possible
be explained by the evolution of seed plants. The first is the Snowball earth theory that suggest the
equator and therefore the whole earth was at one point completely covered in ice. Evidence for this
theory is found in earthforms that contain markings similar to those that glaciers make. Another
theory is the Cambrian explosion which resulted in creating the first fossils of every animals
category. There are still many debated and unproven theories about the evolution of plants but one
thing that is for certain is that they had one of the largest impacts on the planet, shaping the
atmosphere and biosphere the most in establishing conditions to support animal life, by supporting
the soil, air, water, food supply, shelter, and much

Coca Cola was the 1st international soft drinks brand to enter India in early 1970 s. Indian market
was dominated by domestic brands, with Limca being the largest selling brand. Cola was the
largest selling flavor with market share of 40%, Lemon drinks 31% and orange drinks only 19%.
Up till 1977, Coca cola was the leading soft drink brand in India. But due to norms set by the
Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA), Coca Cola left India and did not return till 1993
after a 16 year absence from the Indian beverage market. FERA needed Coca Cola to reveal its
secret concentrate formula as well as reduce its equity stake which was not acceptable. Pure
drinks, Delhi launched Campa Cola, to take advantage of Coke s exit and by the end of 70 s,
were the only Cola drink in the Indian market. In 1980, Parle, another major Indian player
launched Thums Up, the drink which till date is most popular soft drink in India. Pure Drinks
strongly objected to Thums Up being called a soft drink as it felt its taste is too strong. For over a
decade, Parle led the Indian soft drinks market, with its market share reaching a peak of 70%
in1990.
Attempt 1: In May 1985, PepsiCo joined hands with the RPG group to form Agro Product Export
Limited. It planned to import Cola concentrate and sell soft drinks under the Pepsi label and in
return offered to export Juice Concentrate from Punjab. The government rejected the proposal due

Terrorist Interrogation
A description of the issue: The Bush administration has proposed exempting employees of the
Central Intelligence Agency from a legislative measure endorsed by 90 members of the Senate that
would bar cruel and degrading treatment of any prisoners in U.S. custody. The Bush administration
believes that interrogators are acting lawfully, gaining useful information to help win the war
against al Qaeda and will continue to press detainees for leads. The controversial interrogation
technique known as water boarding, in which a suspect has water poured over his mouth and nose
to stimulate a drowning reflex, has been banned by CIA director Gen. Michael Hayden. Human

The rules for these commissions raise serious concerns about the integrity and fairness of such
trials. Congress should amend these rules to ensure that detainees are not convicted and possibly
executed based on evidence obtained through torture or other abusive treatment, are provided a fair
opportunity to confront their accusers and are given a meaningful chance to gather and present
evidence and witnesses. (6) Prohibit Abusive Interrogations In the Military Commissions Act,
Congress amended the War Crimes Act of 1996, specifying a list of eight grave breaches of the
humane treatment requirements of the Geneva Conventions that constitute war crimes. Congress
should clarify that the full range of abusive interrogation techniques that have been prohibited for
use by the military s new field manual on interrogations are similar prohibited and criminalized if
used by the CIA. (7) Close GuantГЎnamo Bay The US continues to hold close to 400 detainees in
Guantanamo Bay, many of whom have been held for five years without charge and without access
to court to challenge the legality of their detention. Congress should hold oversight hearings about
the future of Guantanamo, and push the administration to put forth a plan for its closure. (8)

its questionable detention policies undermines respect for the rule of law around the world and puts

Hetch Hetchy Dam Valley And The Longest Debate Between...
Hetch Hetchy Dam The Hetch Hetchy valley is the subject of one of the greatest and longest
debates between conservationists and preservationists. In short, preservationists look to safe the
great Hetch Hetchy valley from being dammed and flooded, and by doing that they prevent San
Francisco people from getting what is rightfully theirs, the clean water and natural resources of the
Hatch Hatchy valley and the Tuolumne River. Conservationists are on the other hand, they try to
use the most of the Hetch Hetchy valley. Conservationists strongly support the Raker bill that
allows the government of San Francisco to build the dam and provide the clean water to the city
and county of San Francisco. Building the dam and flooding the Hetch Hetchy valley will
destroy a part of the beautiful scenery replacing it with a lake, but it also tremendously increases
the practical use of the Hetch Hetchy resources: it will provide electric power and the so much
need water to the San Francisco district and will still provide the surrounding irrigating districts
with the normal amount of water, it is the best project to solve San Francisco water problems
considering the price and efficiency of the dam, and in addition it will also improve the
popularity of the Hetch Hetchy and make it more accessible to the middle class people across the
state. The damming and flooding the Hetch Hetchy valley will resolve the insufficiency of a water
supply in San Francisco. Approving the Raker bill will

My Love Of Travel
For any person that went on vacations as a little kid, there will always be one that sticks out in
their mind. For me that vacation was a 2008 Disney cruise in the Bahamas. As a second grader
getting to miss school was a big deal. This vacation just happened to be during the last week of
school that year. I was incredibly excited to not only miss school but also get to go see a new place.
In my family we love to travel. I ve been in 3 countries and 14 or more states. This vacation was my
start to all of these places and sparked my love to see the world. One of the reasons this vacation
influenced my love of travel was that this was the first time I had been on a big plane. I love to
fly places. Flying is a lot faster than driving places and with two brothers that makes a huge
difference.
On this vacation I visited one of the U.S. Virgin Islands, one of the British Virgin Islands, and
Disney s private island, Castaway Cay. Every day of the trip we were either at port on one of these
islands or spending our day on the boat on the way to one of these islands. When we were at port
on any of the islands we were given a time to be back then we were set free to get off of the boat
and explore the island at our own pace. We took a bus tour on one of the islands but on the others
we got out and visited some of the little shops or went to the beach for a day in the sand.
One of the memories that sticks out most to me was when my grandpa and I were standing in the
water at Magens

Compare And Contrast The French Revolution And The...
There are many similarities and differences when comparing revolutions. Most of these revolutions
fall in around the same time and some had the same causes/goals. The American, French, and
Haitian revolutions all took place in a span of less than 100 years. While these revolutions have
much if common, they also have differences in the effect of these wars. The American revolution
started in 1770 when conflict of the citizens and English broke out. Civilians opposed the English
law and they believed that the taxes imposed were unfair to the people. These disagreements led
many citizens to revolt leading to the protests in Boston and the Boston Tea Party. Many people in
the colonies dumped crates of tea into the water to prove a point that these laws and taxes were
unfair. Their goals were to have unity throughout the colonies and to be free from English law.
After the French and Indian war, the residents knew they had to do something about these
problems. After this war, the Treaty of Paris was signed and the colonies were officially free from
England. Since the English no longer have rule over them, they had to find a new form of
government. This was the beginning of the Articles of Confederation. Which then after influenced
the U.S Constitution.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This same year was the start of the French revolution. The causes of this war were very comparable
to the American revolution, such as disapproval of tax systems and laws, as well as to be free
from the poor leadership of their monarchy. The french though, were suffering from a decrease in
crop production and a poor economy. This revolution lasted 26 years, as a result of this long
running battle, the French started a democracy. This democracy and conflict also led to the rise of

The Charter At Suffolk Speech And Hearing Center
The covenant not to compete that Ms. Rice signed as a part of her employment contract at
Suffolk Speech and Hearing Center ( Suffolk Speech ) is most likely going to be found
enforceable. As found in Technical Aid Corp v. Allen, there is a three prong test to determine
whether or not a restrictive covenant is reasonable and therefore enforceable. 591 A.2d 262, 265 66
(N.H. 1991). The first being, is the restriction greater than is necessary to protect the legitimate
interests of the employer. Id. Secondly, does the restriction impose an undue hardship on the
employee. Id. at 266. And lastly, is the restriction injurious to the public. Id. For the purposes of this
memo, only the first two elements will be analyzed as the third has already been found to be a non
issue. Because the covenant that Ms. Rice signed at the start of her employment at Suffolk Speech
was reasonable in that it protects Suffolk speech from competition in an appropriate surrounding
area that does not pose an undue hardship, it will be very difficult for the court to deem the
covenant unenforceable. The first issue that must go satisfied or unsatisfied is whether or not the
restriction from the covenant not to compete was greater than necessary to protect to legitimate
interests of Suffolk Speech. Id. The court must evaluate a few things when determining whether this
element is satisfied or not. Important factors to determine if the restriction is greater than necessary
includes the size of the company,

J.P. Morgan Chase Case Write Up
I. Case Summary
The passing of the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999 repealed the Glass Steagall Act,
and the rescinding of the 1956 Bank Holding Company Act. The legislation spurred a flood of
mergers and acquisitions by permitting banking, insurance, and securities firms to be affiliated
/associated with one another, as a result it became extremely profitable and advantageous for
financial institutions to consolidate and diversify their holdings. In doing so a financial firm was
capable of offering a multitude of financial products and serviced through one encompassing entity.

Because of the nature of the distinctiveness of the products offered, once a market niche is saturated

III. Factors Contributing to Strategic Issue
(a) Industry Analysis
Buyer (Very High Bargaining Power): The individual buyer segment is the largest of the three
segments of the credit card customer market. The threat that the buyers represent is their ability to
force prices and quality down. Furthermore, due to the plethora of alternative products the
switching cost for the customer is very low, as noted in this case, buyers possess a high bargaining
power which results in higher operating costs resulting in a deduction of profits.
Supplier (High Bargaining Power): Credit card companies are a part of a larger portfolio of
companies that are held by large commercial banks. As a result of mergers and acquisitions
investment banks entered into the credit card market sector. CCS comprised 29% of the earnings
for J.P. Morgan Chase s commercial banking division, where J.P. Morgan is the financial holding
company. Despite the fact that the credit cars sector has few players and is saturated, there are still
opportunities for growth, through international and portfolio expansion.
Substitute (High Threat Level): As the saying goes Cash is king , showing that cash is always an
especially strong substitute. In regard to other credit products; the

For the application of cross gradient function, the coupled parameter models are assumed to have
similar structures. Therefore, the structures of true models are designed in the similar way in the
following examples, and the physicochemical relationship between the medium elastic and
electromagnetic properties are not strictly defined. In this situation, the elastic and
electromagnetic properties are negatively associated in example 1 and positively associated in
examples 2 and 3. The initial models are critical for the solution of FWI problem. In practice, the

Synthetic recorded data for GPR and seismic FWI are generated with the true models. The
values of the three initial models constantly increase with depth. In this example, 12 sources and
130 receivers are located on the surface with a spacing of 2.0 and 0.2 m, respectively. The
positions of the sources and receivers are shown in Fig. 2. The source type is a Ricker wavelet
with a center frequency of 200 Hz in the seismic FWI and 20 MHz in GPR FWI. Seven
frequencies are inverted in both the seismic FWI (100, 130, 160, 190, 220, 250, and 280 Hz) and
GPR FWI (4, 6, 8, 10, 13, 16, and 19 MHz). Fig. 3 shows the individual and joint inversion results.
In the individual inversion, there is a significant structural difference between the three inverted
parameter models. The general shapes of the two anomalies only can be observed in the P wave
velocity model (Fig. 3a). In contrast, the features of the two cross shaped anomalies are faintly
constructed in the permittivity model (Fig. 3c) and are absent in the conductivity model (Fig. 3e).
The sedimentary layers are not clearly recovered in all the models, especially in the conductivity
model (Fig. 3e). These parameter models were integrated using the joint FWI approach. The
structural similarities between these parameter models are significantly enhanced in the joint
inversion. The P wave

cognitive abilities such as attention, memory, language, logical reasoning, and problem solving
severe enough to interfere with social or occupational functioning. There is three forms of

Vascular Dementia , and dementia associated with Parkinson s Disease. There is a one percent of
adults at the age of 60 that have been diagnosed with dementia. Patients being diagnosed for

In this disease the symptoms worsen over time. Over a prolonged time period memory,
judgement, and thinking declines. You can stretch out the time with medication before it gets too
terrible. Lewy Body Dementia is cause by levy bodies which are clumps of protein that can form
in the brain. This causes changes in the patients memory, movement, thinking skills, mood and
behavior. This is the second most common dementia and normally affect patients who are 50
years of age and older. A sign showing that the patients might be coming down with Lewy Body
Dementia is they struggle with the movements of their body. Then, within a year, the patients
memory starts to decrease along with changes in their behavior. Another side affect with the
disease that might occur is hallucinations. Vascular Dementia is cause by the breaking down of
nerves in the brain and does not get enough oxygen and nutrients. This type of dementia often
causes a stroke or signs of a stroke. Like Alzheimers, and opposite of Lewy Body, it progresses at
a slower rate. Like Lewy body, issues with movement happen earlier in the disease unlike Alzheimer

For example, local new car sales fluctuated greatly just in the two years between October of 1987
and October 1989 [SEE EXHIBIT 6]. The average net profit before taxes in 1979 was
approximately 2.5% of sales. By 198l that number had dropped to 1.16%. and 4000 dealerships had
folded. By 1987, however, profits reached a high of 2.16% of sales. In 1989, with profit before
taxes at a dismal 1.3% of sales and falling, the shadow of a recession in car buying loomed dark and
ominous. The average gross profit as a percent of sales also indicates a bleak outlook [SEE
EXHIBIT 5]. In 1988 the top 100 megadealers in the U.S. controlled nearly 13% of total new car
sales. It is estimated that if current trends continue, up to 25% of those megadealers will go out

The Inferno By Dante Alighieri
Inferno by Dante Alighieri is beautifully woven to reflect the realities or unrealities of the time.
The various circles of hell are used by the Florentine writer Dante, to tell the tale in a structured
and elaborate manner, with the use of nine circles of the Inferno (Havely, 374). Interesting,
however, is the manner in which Dante describes the characters, as they are seen to be facing
tragedies in their life in hell. The author of this medieval text categorizes the different types of sins
that people can commit and subjects the characters to various punishments; each is in a separate
circle in hell. Lawall opines that the writer uses a style that makes the reader envision themselves in
the poem (Lawall, 17). The infamous guide of Dante the character is none other than Virgilthe poet,
and being born before the time of Christ, places him in the category of a virtuous pagan , who is in
a matter of speaking, lost and without hope in Inferno, but not without safety that the author
bestows as homage to Virgil (Alighieri, 1028). With the various messages of political strife and
religious tension seeping throughout the text of the Inferno, it is clear to see that a couple who
faces a tragic situation that has no ending is Paolo and Francesca. In so doing, the author subjects
this adulterous couple to relatively tragic states even though they appear to possess incredible
beauty in character, personality and intellect. The journey through hell is as a result of Dante

Brain Ischemia Essay
The blood brain barrier (BBB) is a metabolic and physical barrier between the central nervous
system and the brain blood flow (1). The correct functioning of the BBB is crucial for keeping
brain homeostasis and avoiding many poisons and pathogens (2). During cerebral ischemia, BBB
disruption is a crucial event that induces an influx of water, resulting in vasogenic edema (3), and
causes supplementary brain harm such as dementia through accumulation of beta amyloid peptide
(4). Brain edema aggravates the development of infarct development and causes herniation and
loss of life (5). It s been reported that reactive oxygen species (ROS) exert deleterious activities,

Furthermore, inhibition of ROS protects TJs against disruption during brain damage (8).
Furthermore, amelioration of ischemia induced BBB disruption and brain edema in addition has

Matricaria chamomilla can be an aroma herb with anticancer, antioxidant, and anti inflammatory
properties (11), is an important source of dietary antioxidants (12). Various studies show that
matricaria chamomilla is associated with several health advantages such as antioxidants (13), and

matricaria chamomilla extract on BBB dysfunction during brain ischemia. In the present study, we

edema and BBB dysfunction in mice. The possible root systems are also looked into, especially

having a devastating effect on our eco system. Historically the majority of conventional large scale
power stations have been utilising the combustion of fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas or
petroleum to generate electricity, which acts as a large source of greenhouse gas emissions. From
the 2014 UK electricity flowchart, figure 2, it can be seen that the majority of electricity generation
is driven by fossil fuels leading to the release of vast quantities of greenhouse gas emissions into the
atmosphere and, as a consequence, heavily contributing towards climate change.
Figure 2. DUKES UK 2014 Electricity flowchart [2].
With the aim of combating climate change there is a desire to increase the penetration of renewable
generation in the UK network at both transmission and distribution level. The introduction of
renewable generation into the network presents numerous technical challenges due its inherent
intermittency. For example, if a large scale wind farm is connected to the transmission network
and the wind speed is approximately 28ms creating a 1GW output. Suddenly the wind speed
rapidly increases above the cut off wind speed of 25ms, causing the entire wind farm to shut down.
This sudden loss of generation could potentially cause an unacceptable frequency deviation and lead

What Is The Relationship Between The Protestant Ethic And...
In Max Weber s book The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, examines the relationship
between the ethics of ascetic Protestantism and the emergence of the spirit of modern capitalism.
Weber discusses that the religious ideas of groups such as the Calvinists played a role in creating
the capitalistic spirit. In Chapter two, Weber targets the concept of capitalism, which tends to
assume or argue that its existence is inevitable, that it is fundamental to human nature, or reflects an
important step in a universal series of stages. Weber s account brings such claims into question.
Corresponding to Weber, the spirit necessary for successful capitalistic activities is not natural.

Weber draws links between the rise of Calvinism and modern capitalism. Weber, however, is more
cautious overall than Marx in his willingness to make predictions for the future. Overall, while
there are differences between these two theorists, they both make strong arguments for the link
between economics, culture, and ideology. They dispel the notion that society is the creation of
individuals who are consciously and freely making choices, and show how modes of economic
production are both producers and products of cultural and social

The British House Of Lords Select Committee On Medical Ethics
There are different euthanasia laws in each country. The British House of Lords Select Committee
on Medical Ethics defines euthanasia as a deliberate intervention undertaken with the express
intention of ending a life, to relieve intractable suffering
On November 2, 2014, a twenty nine year old woman named Brittany Maynard choose to end her
life by lethal medication. Less than a year prior, she was diagnosed with a terminal glioblastoma
brain cancer, giving her only months left to live. She moved from her home in California to
Oregon, because Oregon has a law permitting physicians to supply patients with the means to take
their own life. Right before her death she released a statement saying: Today is the day I have
chosen to pass away with dignity in the face of my terminal illness, this terrible brain cancer has
taken so much from me...but would have taken so much more (Egan). The circumstances of her
death has caused a lot of controversy. Many believe that Maynard s choice has demeaned human
the value of human life; others have supported her decisions to end her life on her own terms.
The reality of Maynard s situation is that, in the end stages of her disease, she would be afflicted
with violent seizures and hallucinations (Glioblastoma). She would have eventually lose the
ability to control basic bodily functions. Was she wrong to choose to end her life before her
disease brought unbearable suffering? Is there such a thing as have a right to die ? If so, how do

Medical Errors And Its Effects On Healthcare
Making sure that patients are safe in healthcare facilities is an important topic that all the healthcare
organizations must go through. The individuals that attend healthcare facilities fully trust and put
their health in the hands of their healthcare provider. Since healthcare providers are faced with so
many responsibilities in their healthcare facility, they often find it hard not to make any errors in
the services they provide. Healthcare providers have so many tasks that sometimes they might
forget something, confuse their patients, or give the wrong medication. Since medical errors are
inevitable, a plan that will help reduce medical errors. A few of the actions that can be put into

I consider it important for all medical staff to attend these information sessions because they may
learn something they did not. Information sessions can serve as refreshments of important tasks to
keep in mind. The information sessions that I am planning to incorporate will cover topics such as
how to detect a medical error, how to prevent a medical error, tips on how to improve literacy
issues, how to improve communication, what are the proper ways to hand off patients, and what
to do if a medical error occurs. Since I want everyone to be involved, I will also ask for
participants to share personal stories about mistakes they made while working in healthcare
facilities. That way other people know what to do if this occurs. For this training sessions to be
effective, I would require for my hospital organization to have these training sessions at least 3
times a week.
Also, the way I will integrate the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act is by making sure that
management creates groups and spreads information all through different healthcare facilities. I don
t only want to make a change in the organization that I work for, I want to make a change in every
hospital so that they know that it is possible to increase patient safety. Getting everyone involved is
important and can

Poem Analysis- Robert Fross; Robert Browning; Anne Bradstreet
Robert Frost, Out,Out
1. In line 15, Frost describes the saw as being sinister. He infers that the saw has a mind of its
own, by stating that the saw jumped out of the boy s hand and cut the boy s hand terribly. Frost
also makes it seem as if the saw is in a way, like a friend. He does this by demonstrating that using
the saw is an advantage for the boy because it is making his job ten times easier. Without the saw,
the boy would spend hours cutting through the wood. 2. In Frost s poem, the people that surround
the boy must be his family. It could also very much be friends, or members of his community, along
with the doctor and nurses working on his injury. The tone of the poem leads me to conclude that

In other words, he, the Duke, controls the Duchess; or he wishes to control his Duchess. The Duke
wouldn t want anyone to see the portrait of his Duchess, with her blushed cheeks, unless he was
there. The same can be inferred from the last few lines of the poem, line 54 55, Notice Neptune,
though,/Taming a sea horse, thought a rarity,/ Which Claus of Innsbruck cast in bronze for me!
The Duke is implying, that he himself is Neptune, and his last Duchess is the sea horse. No one
could have imagined that a sea horse could be tamed, but Neptune achieved it. Identical to the way
that the last Duchess herself was tamed.
Adrienne Rich, Aunt Jennifer s Tigers,
In her poem, Aunt Jennifer s Tigers, Adrienne is describing the protagonist s feelings towards
her marriage. In lines 9 10, the protagonist feels that she is a prisoner of her marriage, and will
only be set free when she dies. The protagonist uses the tigers as a symbol of who she wished she
could be. In the first stanza of the poem, Adrienne describes the tigers as being un fearful of the
men. A trait she wishes she possessed.
Sharon Olds, Rite of Passage, 1. The speaker describes the first grade boys at her son s birthday
party as men. Their behavior is pure imitation of the men they have been around. Her description
of them is ironic, because how can first graders realistically be grown men? She also uses the
concept of violence a lot in the poem.

United States Election Project Headed By Dr. Michael...
This past weekend, mid term elections took place nationwide. According to the United States
Election Project headed by Dr. Michael McDonald at University of Florida, with just a voter
turnout of 36.4%, it was the lowest overall turnout since World War II which occurred 70 years
ago. Mid term elections are congressional electionsthat occur halfway through the president s
term. Congressional ballots are held every two years and all House of Representative seats are
contested as well as one third of Senate seats. Most state legislature and governor elections(about
thirty six out of fifty states) occur the same day(M.D.). These elections have the ability to change
the way America is governed. For example, with the 1994 mid term elections that occurred during
President Clinton s reign came a power shift within the House and the Senate from Democrats to
Republicans. This power shift resulted in the reform of the welfare system. Therefore, it is
important for people, especially minorities, to exercise the right to vote.
In recent history, there has been a reported decrease in voter turnout for both minor and major
elections such as mid term and presidential elections. Some of the causes for this decrease are
inequality, social capital and election day conditions; all of which minorities are subject to. Most of
whom we consider to be regular voters,or those that are sure to vote, are wealthy, older, educated,
white, and church attending people. They are usually more involved in

living situations, different levels of poverty, and a plethora of experiences; we see Mason
overcome coercion in school, at home, and in his own mind. Through what may seem as
unfavorable situations Mason emerges as an individual with a positive out look on the rest of
his life. What made him this way? Was it his moms support and the way she raised him and his
sister? Did seeing his mom start from basically nothing and picking herself up and making
something out of nothing help give Mason a spark of ambition? Maybe it was all the things his
father told him that stuck with him through all these years and gave him the motivation to

A Visit to the Saturn V Rocket
Underneath the largest rocket in the world, on May 8, starting at 11:00, were sixth graders. The
entire sixth grade of South Mckeel Academy slept underneath the Saturn V rocket. Not an
experience to forget. Previously, the middle schoolers had taken a brief tour of the Kennedy Space
Center Visitor Complex, which houses the space shuttle Atlantis. They would actually get to visit
the shops and kiosks on Friday, the day after. Onto the subject of the rocket itself. Mostly yellow,
the Saturn V rocket is the only functional rocket still fully intact. This is because it has never been
out of Earth s orbit, much less in space. The length? The equivalent of 9 KSC (Kennedy Space
Center) tour buses. In other words and measurements , 363 feet. Underneath the rocket, among
the sleeping 6th graders, was a cold temperature. By the displays of astronauts suits, lunar rovers,
lunar landers, samples of the moon s surface, etc. the coldness was not as evident, in fact by the
exhibits one might go so far as to say warm. The area where the base of the rocket was built was
visible, painted a light shade of green, towards the tip of the rocket. Boys were to sleep in stage
one, near the base of the rocket, while girls occupied stages two and three closer to the tip of the

Vanity In Pride And Prejudice
Solomon was known as the smartest and wisest man in the world. He became a king of Israel, and
decided that he was going to figure out where happiness is found. He thought that money might be
able to make him happy, so he became the richest man in the world, but he was unsuccessful in his
pursuit of happiness. He then tried alcohol and women, but he was still unsuccessful. By the end of
his pursuit, he eventually determined that happiness could not be found in possessions and money,
or any earthly pleasure. For people in modern times, possessions and wealth are often what guide
relationships the modern life in general. People who put value in material wealth will struggle and

Organizational Value Of The Slavery
Essay 1
Organizational value of the slavery was an essential part of the Virginia and Chesapeake during the
eighteenth century. The social practices and attitudes that accompanied the skin color based
slavery system affected fundamentally all the fields of life. The slave system originated in early
seventeen century and slowly prospers with increasing family based servitude system in African
Blacks. Over the period of hundred years this slavery system became the critical component of the
Virginia society due to obstructive legal system and social practices. The basic reasons of
progression in slavery system in Chesapeake are fast growing agriculture system and need of

demand of tobacco for export purposes but with time as slavery system entrenched in the society;

Everywhere you go you see perfect people. You read a magazine and on every page you see

pressure to meet this picture increases drastically.
Are all these people born so perfect? Or did they cheat with cosmetic surgery? Of course there are
people who are so lucky they are born flawless. But the majority of the perfect population is not

Cosmetic surgery is, for a lot of women, an aid to increase their self esteem. They see cosmetic
surgery as the ultimate way to improve their self image. Cosmetic surgery is also used to
enhance the chance on a job. Because so many women undergo cosmetic surgery, the
employment raises. We need more surgeons and nurses to be able to meet the demand. And of
course the right to do what you want with your body is a reason to go to the cosmetic surgeon.
But cosmetic surgery also knows a dark side. An operation is never without any risks. Cosmetic
surgery can cause serious damage to your body. Besides, you lose your own identity after using
cosmetic surgery. Your own identifying mark is being removed and replaced by a more
common identifying mark. Also the costs of cosmetic surgery are very high. For most people it
is too expensive, so they negotiate a loan. The high costs make cosmetic surgery a mean for rich
people to improve their appearance. And of course we need to wonder if cosmetic surgery is a
good way to make you happy. It is much better to love yourself for who you are, because only
then also other people can love you for who you are. After all for everyone exists the perfect
match. So stay who you are, do what you want and say what you feel, because those who matter

Basic Rules Of Evidence Are No Different For Electronic...
General Requirements for Admissibility Generally, the rules of evidence are no different for
electronic records than for paper records. Medical records are first subject to the hearsay rule,
which says that any statement made out of court by a person not currently testifying is not
admissible. However there are a number of exceptions to this rule, one of which is the Business
Records Rule. Medical records are considered business records. For any business record to be
admissible in a legal proceeding, it must be properly authenticated. In the case of medical records, a
sponsoring witness must normally testify that the medical record meets certain conditions. Usually
the sponsoring witness will be someone who knows enough about your medical record procedures
to testify about how they are created and maintained. Computerprint outs are often used when the
evidence is stored electronically. This is typical procedures for producing records from EHR or
other electronic data systems.
Evidence in Electronic Form While the basic rules of evidence are the same for paper and
electronic records, there are several important differences. Compared to paper records, most courts
consider electronic records to be more voluminous, more difficult to destroy, easily modified,
easily duplicated, potentially more expressive, and more readily available. As a consequence, strict
new rules were enacted in December 2006 requiring the preservation and disclosure of
electronically stored

Palestinian people have been shattered and dispersed. (p.xiii)
3 major patterns in US policy in the middle east have emerged: 1) the US can do as it likes
because the Arab gulf states depend on the US in order to not be overthrown 2) ignoring other Arab
gulf states wishes and opinions 3) ignoring the fate of the Palestinian people.
Intent of the book is to show that USA has acted as a dishonest broker between Israel and the US,

Palestinian human rights, peace processes, and their right to self determination was not brought

The Evolution of the U.S. Constitution, 1781 – 1789 Essay...
Politics began to play a bigger role in the lives of American colonists during the beginning of a
growing country. After the Declaration of Independence was written in 1776, the country was
challenged with the problem of creating a process for governing the states. The Patriots were
concerned about forming a centralized Parliament, like in Britain, because power was abused by the
wealthy. Initially, the vision was to give states governing authority and leave minimal power to a
national Union. But as the years passed and conflicts arose, there was a need to create a national
government using the U.S Constitution as the blueprint.
The focus of the paper is to learn what led to the formation of the U.S. Constitution. First, it s

The main disagreement was deciding who had the right to vote. Democratic Patriots wanted equal
rights for all free men, even those who were poor. In most states, conservatives disagreed and felt
strongly that poor men should not vote because their vote would confound and destroy all
distinctions and prostrate all ranks to the common level (Lapsansky, 134). As the debate lingered,
most free men qualified to vote because they owned farms, but slaves and women were not given
voting rights.
Another debate centered on religious freedom. Most states supported freedom of religion in their
constitution, and with time religious liberty, without the interference of the state, became common
from state to state with the exception of Massachusetts and Connecticut (Lapsansky Werner, Levy,
Roberts, Taylor, 135). The religious controversy was aided with the passage of the Virginia Statute
for Religious Freedom in 1786 which was written by Thomas Jefferson. This was extremely
influential legislation because it became the forerunner of the first amendment protections for
religious freedom (The Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, Online). The first
constitution of the United States was called the Articles of Confederation. It was drafted in 1777
and adopted in 1781 by the same Continental Congress that passed the Declaration of Independence.

In America today, many citizens of the United States are divided when it comes to their own

Such as the proposed gun control legislation written by President Barack Obamaand his

In reality, being able to avoid such procedures is what is causing problems with the people who
use such weapons to commit crimes. It is said that 93 percent of the guns obtained by violent
criminals are not obtained through the lawful purchase (Snyder 1). That in order to stop
horrible gun related crimes from taking place, measures such as universal background checks
need to be a requirement to own any type of weapon, whether it be a simple hand held gun, or an
assault weapon that can fire a high speed of bullets at once, without having to reload. If a
universal background check was used in order to assure the person receiving such a weapon will
use it for protection and not against the public. A major priority in President Barack Obama s gun
control legislation is the idea of universal criminal and mental health background checks for all
firearms sales . This means that when a person goes to make a purchase of a firearm, a background
check is not only just ran through through their life in the United States, however their information
is also ran through a world wide data in order to deter potential gun buyers, and prevent the
purchase of firearms by potentially dangerous criminals (Lee, Stingl, Alexander 1).This is essential
in allowing people to purchase weapons because it could eliminate the black market. If a person is

India s Growing Economy And Its Effects On The U.s.
Cultivating India: India s Growing Economy and Its Effects on the U.S.
India represents a complex mix of exotic images and prosaic realities. Exotic images of India
encompass elephants and monkeys, curry and naan, bindis and Bollywood. The prosaic realities
of India focus on the third world poverty, the prevalence of outsourcing, and its geo political
location in Asia. However, India has cultivated a thriving, modern business presence, and it is
poised to become a global financial juggernaut in the next fifteen years. Over the last two decades,
India has experienced marked economic and industrial growth in its own country as well as the
global community. The rise of India will have a significant impact, not only on the U.S. economy,

This is in sharp contrast to India s largest Asian competitor, China, whose youth workforce is
declining due to regulated birth rates and a spike in college enrollment. (See Figure 1.1) A larger
base of workers for input in emerging markets leads to greater outputs of production, which is
important for shifting the production possibility curve outward and building a strong national
economic base in order to compete globally. In 2005, 50 million Indians fell into the middle class
income bracket with a purchasing parity power between $4,380 and $117,650 (US), but this was
only 5% of the population (Das, 2014, p.26). Current economic and population growth rates predict
that the middle class will swell to 583 million people or 41% of the population by 2025 (Das,
2014, p.26). The growth of the middle class has precipitated an increase in disposable income and
therefore consumption. The rise in Indian consumption patterns are set to continue, and will likely
be directed into increased healthcare, education, private transportation, recreation, and
communication expenditures. While these categories account for 52% of the average spending for
middle class households, that spending average is projected to rise to 70% by 2025 (Das, 2014,
p.27). Political leadership changes and new government initiatives are changing business policies
for the better and encouraging foreign investment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi s

Educating Afghan Girls Education
Educating Afghan Girls
Education is one of the most important contributors to having a successful future. In developed
countries such as North America boys and girls are fortunate enough to have access to an unbiased
education system. Therefore, allowing children to have countless opportunities. However, in
countries like Afghanistan girls are marginalized and neglected the right to learn. Afghanistan is a
country of war, where women and girls are often the worst victims. In 2011, Afghanistan was
known as the most dangerous place in the world for a girl to be born (Kissane). Malala Yousufzai,
a female education activist was also a victim of war. Yousufazi was shot in the head and neck for
advocating for girls and their rights to have access to education. Similarly, to Yousufzai many
women in Afghanistan stand up for their entitlement to having equality. Those courageous women
often become victims of abuse and are often killed. Investing in girls education is critical, not
only is it life altering for a girl s future, but it s also poses benefits to society. By allowing Afghan
girls access to educating we are also promoting better socioeconomic s, a reduction in child
marriages, and an improvement in mortality rates.
Afghanistan is one of the poorest countries in the world. Three decades of war has subjected
Afghans to harsh living conditions. Leaving most with insufficient resources to survive. Many
women are left widowed, and are obligated to provide for their families,

Summary Of Eliza And Her Monsters
Outside Reading Book Essay: Eliza and Her Monsters Ignoring fame was my rebellion, in a
funny way. I was insistent on being normal and doing normal things. It probably wasn t advisable
to go to college in America and room with a complete stranger. And it probably wasn t wise to
share a bathroom with eight other people in a coed dorm. Looking back, that was crazy, Emma
Watson. Fame is something that consequently cannot be ignored once gained without bearing great
consequences and risk to its owner. The longer someone attempts to pretend it s not there, the
further one will fall into the trap of losing one s own reality by refusing to acknowledge fame,
because it quickly becomes inexplicably intertwined with one s life no matter how... Show more

My heart stutters in my chest. Mrs. Grier walks down my row, newspaper in hand. She kneels
next to my desk. Her voice comes out too slow. Eliza. Is this true? She holds up the paper. It s
turned to my paragraph and my stupid face. Did...did you create Monstrous Sea? (Zappia, 273).
Rather than being appreciative towards her parents for what they said and their praise, Eliza
instantly shrinks away from it, her biggest secret having made its way into the real world. Had
she not been anxious about getting such attention for it, she would ve been okay with her
identity being known, but all Eliza wanted was to live her life in the shadows, a dream that s
now been shattered. People acknowledging her isn t something she normally experiences, and
she doesn t know how to handle all of the attention. After stumbling out of the room soon after
being discovered, still disoriented from it, she manages makes her way to lunch. As she s
attempting to find one of her only friends, Wallace, the prying eyes and focus given to her by
others who now know her true identity proves to be too much and ultimately fries her brain,
with her thinking, I am one hundred percent going to die. He s supposed to be here so I can give
him this drumstick. Jesus, I m dying. My tray knocks off the edge of the table. Catches it, then
catches my stomach. Crunches out of my hands. My legs buckle. Darkness slams down, (Zappia,

Kwame Anthony Appiah On Identity
Race can be defined as a generally constructed way of
categorizing people, according to phonotypical characteristics that are
determined genetically but not always consistent. Kwame Anthony
Appiah defined race to be the same as all other major forms of
identification which are central to identity politics (45). Identity
provides us with a sense of belonging. Our families, our cultural
backgrounds, where we live and the type of work we do all contribute to
our sense of identity.
Malcolm X s shift in identity we can say came when he adopted X
as his last name saying, since he was the descendant of slaves stolen
from Africa, Little was actually a slave name as slaves were often given
the last name of their owners. He came to realize that he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fractured identities
simply show the difference between an individual and the society the
live in. It s relevant for every individual to have a recognizable identity
(45).
A fractured identity definitely reflects to the existence of
solidarity among races. Appiah said, because many people want the
sense of solidarity that comes from being unlike others (52). Appiah is
trying to suggest that solidarity is the identity that allows differences
between races and ethnicities. In his essay he suggest we should regard
and accept the concept of solidarity. We can from here relate fractional
identities and the concept of solidarity. Fractional identities are the
identities that differentiate individuals from the ethnicity they belong to
or come from, while solidarity shows the diversity among different
cultures, allowing us to see the difference amid a person representing
his ethnicity and another community or ethnicity. Relating fractional
identity and solidarity help Appiah talk about identity play.
We can relate Appiah s urgency to his opinions on racism; he
wished the change the notion people had about racism. He didn t

Their Eyes Were Watching God By Zora Neale A Feminist
In Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, despite actions that suggest otherwise,
Janie is neither feminist nor a role model due to her reliance on men and desperation for
independence. Throughout the novel, Janie requires the men and death to rescue her and give her
the ability to help herself. Janie s lack of feminism is represented in her passivity with men, and
in how she does not endeavor to protect herself against their abuse or oppression. Literary critic
Trudier Harris claims that Janie lacks the ability to determine her own fate. She is primarily
passive, which is anathema to feminist philosophy. Feminism is about women finding ways to
determine their own fates, to change their lives for their own... well being . However,... Show more

Although one could perceive Janie s actions against Logan as actions done for her individual
prosperity, they are truly rooted in her reliance on men. When attempting to leave Logan, Janie
is unable to find the courage to do so until Jody comes to her and presents her with a better
future. And after she did leave Logan, Janie hurried out of the front gate and turned south. Even
if Joe was not there waiting for her, the change was bound to do her good. (). Her decision to
take her newfound freedom and head to Jody represents the pattern of Janie waiting for others to
save her from her life. Although she insinuates that her actions are for herself, her decisions were
greatly influenced by the future promised to her by Jody. Moreover, this action that she takes for
herself is so overshadowed by Jody s considerable influence on her, it is difficult to see it as done
for anyone other than Jody and his promises. This exemplifies Janie s reliance upon men in order
make a change in her life because after she left Logan her decision about her future was rooted in
Jody s previous suggestions and promises. It also disputes the claim that her choices were her
own, and were done solely for her own well being. Another counterargument that could arise in
defense of Janie s feminism is when she stands up to Jody. Janie makes a strong move for

Jamaica American Culture
A time I remember going to a place that was different from anything I ve ever experienced
before, was Jamaica. I ve been to other places around the world, but Jamaica was an entirely
different experience. I ve never been to Europe, but I ve been to Mexico, various spots of Canada,
everywhere in the United States, most of the Caribbean, and all the Virgin Islands (U.S. and U.K).
To start with Jamaica s roadways are the opposite of the United States. The people were different
as well. The clothing attire they wore was way different from what I was used too. When I say
being used to, I mean a sort of ethnocentrism (Wood 169). If I viewed it as different (stereotype;
Wood 47), then I was used to something else, but considering I was in a different... Show more

I remember mostly the clothing of the culture because it was very bright and gave a tropical
feel. This was the physical appearance (Herkova PP Chap 7) (Wood 98) I saw. The proxemics
(Herakova PP Chap 7) (Wood 101) between people in that culture were closer than I was used to.
This refers back to ethnocentrism, different isn t bad, it is just an interesting change. Ultimately
this goes back to my direct definition (Wood 186), my mother was always open to other cultures,
understanding (Wood 172) and embraced them. I was taught not to be narrow minded, having
respect (Wood 172), and to have tolerance (Wood 171) toward other cultures. Another part of this
experience was the language this culture spoke. They had their own native language, but spoke
English. When they spoke English, they spoke it extremely fast and it wasn t the easiest to
understand. Their paralanguage (Wood 104) wasn t something I was used to either. The way I
responded to them, was to slow down my own paralanguage and to speak more clearly without
using any slang. This was so I could communicate with them without any interference. This made
the verbal communication (Wood 67) I used much easier to understand for them. I relied on the low
context communication style. Which refers to very direct, explicit, and detailed type of
communication (Wood

Reaching Out Without Dumbing Down
In an age when culture continues to lower standards of intellect, Marva Dawn makes compelling
observations and suggestions for the Church to rethink its strategy on impacting society. How do
we evangelize without weakening the message of what we are communicating? The majority of her
text focuses on the worship environment generally, but later she focuses on music, preaching, and
liturgy specifically. According to Dawn, a gathering of believers should emphasize God as the
subject and object of worship, challenge each individual to grow in godly character, and accentuate
the community of believers (not only in the room, but throughout history as well). Through this
grid, she encourages leaders and participants to evaluate each worship... Show more content on

A weakness prevails in light of the previous strength. I believe Dawn over spiritualizes liturgy and
ritual in her attempt to challenge churches to keep their content sharp. Although she writes,
traditional styles can become as idolatrous as their contemporary counterparts (p. 96), her
supporting material does not admit inferiority in her high church worship preferences. In the
scheme of redemptive history, liturgies of the Lutheran church are relatively new. Why should
we hold so tightly to creeds and prayers and hymns that aren t a part of the Biblical canon? Just
because they worked for a period of a few hundred years does not guarantee that it will continue to
be effective until the end of time. Even though they are built on eternal truths, we cannot expect
these liturgies to continually relate to an ever changing culture. I agree that we must not dumb
worship down, but perhaps this book could have directed us to more timeless, ancient, biblical
forms than merely ones from the last 500 years. Another inadequacy in Dawn s work is her
narrow view of musical value. Value is not always simple to access as indicated in chapter eight
(although I thoroughly concur with her standards, I did not find them all encompassing). Dawn
mentions that contemporary music is easier to perform because it is less challenging from a

The Importance Of Equality In Society
For many years, the fight for equality has either brought peace and unity or hatred. One of the
greatest events that happened in the United States was The March on Selma better known as
Bloody Sunday . What started as a peaceful protest, turned into turmoil. Another event was when
Dr. Martin Luther King gave the I Have a Dream speech during the March on Washington. This
speech has been effective for many decades and is a reminder that us people should unite and
strive for greatness. Though gave the Dr. King s I Have a Dream speech, our nation and other
parts of the world continue to bring division and hatred. When will the world know when enough
is enough? I believe that society does not owe us equality due to the fact that true equality is
impossible. In order to have a perfect society, we would need to have the same level of education,
the exact same amount of wealth, and the exact same social status. In other words, we would an
utopian society in order to be successful.
Until we get equality in education, we won t have an equal society, said Sonia Sotomayor. Being
educated is highly valued within our society. Education is essential to have a better future. Some
others believe that education can lead to a better job and which will eventually lead to more
money. Without education the world will not function right. We would live in the world without
knowledge and it would be impossible to move on with everyday life. Our society would be
utopian if everyone had the

Why Is It Good To Meditate With Your Friends
Frienditation Why It s Good To Meditate With Your Friends
Life can be stressful and overwhelming, which is why many people turn to meditation as a way to
calm down and relax. It offers the opportunity to be at peace, if only for a few minutes each day,
and shut out the outside world. This is why meditation is often seen as a solitary activity, that is
practiced in a serene environment away from other people. However, silencing your body and
mind doesn t mean you have to be on your own. There are actually benefits to having friends join
in on the experience with you. Because you already have a special bond with your friends it can
influence the dynamic of the meditation process in ways that are not possible on your own. It
can be even more powerful if shared with friends who have the same goals and passions as you.
Whether it is something you only want to do every once in a while or more regularly, group
meditation does have a lot of benefits. Here are just a couple of good reasons why meditating with
your friends can be good for everyone involved.
1. It Makes The Experience Much Less Daunting
One of the biggest advantages of meditating with your friends is that it makes the experience much
less daunting. This is especially useful when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

are present and sharing the experience with you there is no need to worry about them not
understanding why it is so important to you. This will help to reinforce the positive aspects of
meditation and keep the activity enjoyable. Since you are joining others in an environment of
acceptance and belonging, it can be a big mental

Does Migraine Causes
Migraines can be a HUGE pain, seriously. If you are a long term migraine sufferer, then
unfortunately you know that taking medicine is not always the cure for getting rid of the pain.
However, did you know that just by simply visiting a chiropractor, it could help you out? YES! A
back doctor could be the answer to all of your migraineissues who would have thought?
What Causes Migraines?
The cause behind migraines is a mystery. However, it is believed that they occur due to a
chemical imbalance in an individual s brain. This imbalance can be caused by food, hormone or
other triggers, which is why those who have food allergies tend to get a migraine after they eat
something they are allergic to! When you set off this trigger in your brain, your blood vessels dilate
and they become inflamed. This inflammation then causes irritation surrounding your nerves,
resulting in a migraine. Typically, those who suffer from migraines are prescribed antidepressants,
which in themselves can have a series of side effects.
How Does Chiropractic Help? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The study found that chiropractic healing was just as successful as treating migraines with the
antidepressant, amitriptyline. It is believed by Chiropractors that migraines and headaches can be
caused by having a misaligned spine. If your spine is not aligned properly, the rest of your body
will suffer and you won t feel 100%. When it comes to pain caused during a migraine, it could be
because the nerves that run from the spine to the brain are irritated. This misalignment in the spine
can make an individual more likely to have a chemical imbalance in the

Some people who desire to be in highly competitive sporting environments, will attest to the excruciatingly painful, life altering moment when they were engaged in play and heard the quintessential pop sound from their kneeand they are immediately falling to the floor unable to move that knee. This is usually followed by a diagnosis of an anterior cruciate ligamenttear and within a few weeks, surgical methods must be taken if the athlete wishes to return to their sport at the same high level. This paper will seek to properly define what the role of the anterior cruciate ligament (more commonly called the ACL) is, shed light on the procedures necessary for an athlete to return to play, and analyze data found through research to determine the likelihood of re injury and, therefore, the effectiveness of ACL surgery. The anterior cruciate ligament is a ligament that connects the femur (thigh bone) to the tibia (lower leg bone) and is one of four major ligaments in the knee (Putukian 1). It is responsible for stabilizing the knee, especially in sports/activities that require cutting, pivoting, turning maneuvers, landing, sudden deceleration, and planting. It is this ligament that is responsible for also preventing tibial translation onto the femur. Injury to the ACL usually happens when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Margaret Peterson Haddix s Running out of time a young girl, by the name of Jessie, has to leave her village in order to help everyone. She leaves because she has to go get medicine and has to stop her friends from dying. This was her hardship and she chose to deal with it by helping out. In Z for Zachariah by Robert c. • 4. How A Company Needs Help Expand Into New Markets A company needs funds to expand into new markets, while governments need money for everything from infrastructure to social programs. The problem large organizations run into is that they typically need far more money than the average bank can provide. The solution is to raise money by issuing bonds (or other debt instruments) to a public market. Thousands of investors then each lend a portion of the capital needed. Really, a bondis nothing more than a loan for which you are the lender. The organization that sells a bond is known as the issuer. The bond market(also debt market or credit market) is a financial marketwhere participants can issue new debt, known as the primary market, or buy and sell debt securities, known as the secondary market. This is usually in the form of bonds, but it may include notes, bills. A bond s price fluctuates throughout its life in response to a number of variables. When a bond trades at a price above the face value, it is said to be selling at a premium. When a bond sells below face value, it is said to be selling at a discount. The coupon is the amount the bondholder will receive as interest payments. It s called a coupon because sometimes there are physical coupons on the bond that you tear off and redeem for interest. However, this was more common in the past. Nowadays, records are more likely to be kept electronically. The maturity date is the date in the future on which the investor s principal will be repaid. This plant was no more than mats of algae that layered on top of itself in water, but it was a first nonetheless. It was not until the end of the Ordovician period, some 480 million years ago, that plants began to grow on land. Bryophytes were the first to grow, which included mosses, hornworts, and liverworts. Lacking any leaves, these plants went through a Gametophyte stage, reproducing by dividing cells into spores. Also reproducing with spores, the Lycopodiophyta (Lycopods) evolved simple microphyll leaves with just one leaf vein bringing sunlight and nutrients in to support the plant. Most of these revolutions fall in around the same time and some had the same causes/goals. The American, French, and Haitian revolutions all took place in a span of less than 100 years. While these revolutions have much if common, they also have differences in the effect of these wars. The American revolution started in 1770 when conflict of the citizens and English broke out. Civilians opposed the English law and they believed that the taxes imposed were unfair to the people. These disagreements led many citizens to revolt leading to the protests in Boston and the Boston Tea Party. Many people in the colonies dumped crates of tea into the water to prove a point that these laws and taxes were unfair. Their goals were to have unity throughout the colonies and to be free from English law. After the French and Indian war, the residents knew they had to do something about these problems. As found in Technical Aid Corp v. Allen, there is a three prong test to determine whether or not a restrictive covenant is reasonable and therefore enforceable. 591 A.2d 262, 265 66 (N.H. 1991). The first being, is the restriction greater than is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of the employer. Id. Secondly, does the restriction impose an undue hardship on the employee. Id. at 266. And lastly, is the restriction injurious to the public. Id. For the purposes of this memo, only the first two elements will be analyzed as the third has already been found to be a non issue. Because the covenant that Ms. Rice signed at the start of her employment at Suffolk Speech was reasonable in that it protects Suffolk speech from competition in an appropriate surrounding area that does not pose an undue hardship, it will be very difficult for the court to deem the covenant unenforceable. The first issue that must go satisfied or unsatisfied is whether or not the restriction from the covenant not to compete was greater than necessary to protect to legitimate interests of Suffolk Speech. The various circles of hell are used by the Florentine writer Dante, to tell the tale in a structured and elaborate manner, with the use of nine circles of the Inferno (Havely, 374). Interesting, however, is the manner in which Dante describes the characters, as they are seen to be facing tragedies in their life in hell. The author of this medieval text categorizes the different types of sins that people can commit and subjects the characters to various punishments; each is in a separate circle in hell. From the 2014 UK electricity flowchart, figure 2, it can be seen that the majority of electricity generation is driven by fossil fuels leading to the release of vast quantities of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and, as a consequence, heavily contributing towards climate change. She moved from her home in California to Oregon, because Oregon has a law permitting physicians to supply patients with the means to take their own life. Right before her death she released a statement saying: Today is the day I have chosen to pass away with dignity in the face of my terminal illness, this terrible brain cancer has taken so much from me...but would have taken so much more (Egan). The circumstances of her death has caused a lot of controversy. Many believe that Maynard s choice has demeaned human the value of human life; others have supported her decisions to end her life on her own terms. The reality of Maynard s situation is that, in the end stages of her disease, she would be afflicted with violent seizures and hallucinations (Glioblastoma). She would have eventually lose the ability to control basic bodily functions. Was she wrong to choose to end her life before her disease brought unbearable suffering? The individuals that attend healthcare facilities fully trust and put their health in the hands of their healthcare provider. Since I want everyone to be involved, I will also ask for participants to share personal stories about mistakes they made while working in healthcare facilities. That way other people know what to do if this occurs. For this training sessions to be effective, I would require for my hospital organization to have these training sessions at least 3 times a week. Also, the way I will integrate the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act is by making sure that management creates groups and spreads information all through different healthcare facilities. He infers that the saw has a mind of its own, by stating that the saw jumped out of the boy s hand and cut the boy s hand terribly. Frost also makes it seem as if the saw is in a way, like a friend. He does this by demonstrating that using the saw is an advantage for the boy because it is making his job ten times easier. Without the saw, the boy would spend hours cutting through the wood. 2. • 26. United States Election Project Headed By Dr. Michael... This past weekend, mid term elections took place nationwide. According to the United States Election Project headed by Dr. Michael McDonald at University of Florida, with just a voter turnout of 36.4%, it was the lowest overall turnout since World War II which occurred 70 years ago. Mid term elections are congressional electionsthat occur halfway through the president s term. Congressional ballots are held every two years and all House of Representative seats are contested as well as one third of Senate seats. Most state legislature and governor elections(about thirty six out of fifty states) occur the same day(M.D.). These elections have the ability to change the way America is governed. For example, with the 1994 mid term elections that occurred during President Clinton s reign came a power shift within the House and the Senate from Democrats to Republicans. This power shift resulted in the reform of the welfare system. Therefore, it is important for people, especially minorities, to exercise the right to vote. In recent history, there has been a reported decrease in voter turnout for both minor and major elections such as mid term and presidential elections. Some of the causes for this decrease are inequality, social capital and election day conditions; all of which minorities are subject to. Most of whom we consider to be regular voters,or those that are sure to vote, are wealthy, older, educated, white, and church attending people. They are usually more involved in ... General Requirements for Admissibility Generally, the rules of evidence are no different for electronic records than for paper records. Medical records are first subject to the hearsay rule, which says that any statement made out of court by a person not currently testifying is not admissible. However there are a number of exceptions to this rule, one of which is the Business Records Rule. Medical records are considered business records. For any business record to be admissible in a legal proceeding, it must be properly authenticated. In the case of medical records, a sponsoring witness must normally testify that the medical record meets certain conditions. Usually the sponsoring witness will be someone who knows enough about your medical record procedures to testify about how they are created and maintained. Computerprint outs are often used when the evidence is stored electronically. This is typical procedures for producing records from EHR or other electronic data systems. Evidence in Electronic Form While the basic rules of evidence are the same for paper and electronic records, there are several important differences. Compared to paper records, most courts consider electronic records to be more voluminous, more difficult to destroy, easily modified, easily duplicated, potentially more expressive, and more readily available. The Patriots were concerned about forming a centralized Parliament, like in Britain, because power was abused by the wealthy. In most states, conservatives disagreed and felt strongly that poor men should not vote because their vote would confound and destroy all distinctions and prostrate all ranks to the common level (Lapsansky, 134). As the debate lingered, most free men qualified to vote because they owned farms, but slaves and women were not given voting rights. Another debate centered on religious freedom. Most states supported freedom of religion in their constitution, and with time religious liberty, without the interference of the state, became common from state to state with the exception of Massachusetts and Connecticut (Lapsansky Werner, Levy, Roberts, Taylor, 135). The religious controversy was aided with the passage of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom in 1786 which was written by Thomas Jefferson. • 44. Summary Of Eliza And Her Monsters Outside Reading Book Essay: Eliza and Her Monsters Ignoring fame was my rebellion, in a funny way. I was insistent on being normal and doing normal things. It probably wasn t advisable to go to college in America and room with a complete stranger. And it probably wasn t wise to share a bathroom with eight other people in a coed dorm. Looking back, that was crazy, Emma Watson. Fame is something that consequently cannot be ignored once gained without bearing great consequences and risk to its owner. The longer someone attempts to pretend it s not there, the further one will fall into the trap of losing one s own reality by refusing to acknowledge fame, because it quickly becomes inexplicably intertwined with one s life no matter how... She holds up the paper. It s turned to my paragraph and my stupid face. Did...did you create Monstrous Sea? (Zappia, 273). Rather than being appreciative towards her parents for what they said and their praise, Eliza instantly shrinks away from it, her biggest secret having made its way into the real world. Had she not been anxious about getting such attention for it, she would ve been okay with her identity being known, but all Eliza wanted was to live her life in the shadows, a dream that s now been shattered. People acknowledging her isn t something she normally experiences, and she doesn t know how to handle all of the attention. After stumbling out of the room soon after being discovered, still disoriented from it, she manages makes her way to lunch. As she s attempting to find one of her only friends, Wallace, the prying eyes and focus given to her by others who now know her true identity proves to be too much and ultimately fries her brain, with her thinking, I am one hundred percent going to die. • 45. Kwame Anthony Appiah On Identity Race can be defined as a generally constructed way of categorizing people, according to phonotypical characteristics that are determined genetically but not always consistent. Kwame Anthony Appiah defined race to be the same as all other major forms of identification which are central to identity politics (45). Identity provides us with a sense of belonging. Our families, our cultural backgrounds, where we live and the type of work we do all contribute to our sense of identity. Malcolm X s shift in identity we can say came when he adopted X as his last name saying, since he was the descendant of slaves stolen from Africa, Little was actually a slave name as slaves were often given the last name of their owners. It s relevant for every individual to have a recognizable identity (45). A fractured identity definitely reflects to the existence of solidarity among races. Appiah said, because many people want the sense of solidarity that comes from being unlike others (52). Appiah is trying to suggest that solidarity is the identity that allows differences between races and ethnicities. In his essay he suggest we should regard

Fractional identities are the identities that differentiate individuals from the ethnicity they belong to or come from, while solidarity shows the diversity among different cultures, allowing us to see the difference amid a person representing his ethnicity and another community or ethnicity. Relating fractional identity and solidarity help Appiah talk about identity play. We can relate Appiah s urgency to his opinions on racism; he wished the change the notion people had about racism. • 47. Their Eyes Were Watching God By Zora Neale A Feminist In Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, despite actions that suggest otherwise, Janie is neither feminist nor a role model due to her reliance on men and desperation for independence. Throughout the novel, Janie requires the men and death to rescue her and give her the ability to help herself. Janie s lack of feminism is represented in her passivity with men, and in how she does not endeavor to protect herself against their abuse or oppression. Literary critic Trudier Harris claims that Janie lacks the ability to determine her own fate. She is primarily passive, which is anathema to feminist philosophy. Although one could perceive Janie s actions against Logan as actions done for her individual prosperity, they are truly rooted in her reliance on men. When attempting to leave Logan, Janie is unable to find the courage to do so until Jody comes to her and presents her with a better future. And after she did leave Logan, Janie hurried out of the front gate and turned south. Even if Joe was not there waiting for her, the change was bound to do her good. (). Her decision to take her newfound freedom and head to Jody represents the pattern of Janie waiting for others to save her from her life. Although she insinuates that her actions are for herself, her decisions were greatly influenced by the future promised to her by Jody. Moreover, this action that she takes for herself is so overshadowed by Jody s considerable influence on her, it is difficult to see it as done for anyone other than Jody and his promises. This exemplifies Janie s reliance upon men in order make a change in her life because after she left Logan her decision about her future was rooted in Jody s previous suggestions and promises. It also disputes the claim that her choices were her own, and were done solely for her own well being. Another counterargument that could arise in defense of Janie s feminism is when she stands up to Jody. Janie makes a strong move for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Jamaica American Culture A time I remember going to a place that was different from anything I ve ever experienced before, was Jamaica. I ve been to other places around the world, but Jamaica was an entirely different experience. I ve never been to Europe, but I ve been to Mexico, various spots of Canada, everywhere in the United States, most of the Caribbean, and all the Virgin Islands (U.S. and U.K). To start with Jamaica s roadways are the opposite of the United States. The people were different as well. The clothing attire they wore was way different from what I was used too. When I say being used to, I mean a sort of ethnocentrism (Wood 169). If I viewed it as different (stereotype; Wood 47), then I was used to something else, but considering I was in a different... This was the physical appearance (Herkova PP Chap 7) (Wood 98) I saw. The proxemics (Herakova PP Chap 7) (Wood 101) between people in that culture were closer than I was used to. This refers back to ethnocentrism, different isn t bad, it is just an interesting change. Ultimately this goes back to my direct definition (Wood 186), my mother was always open to other cultures, understanding (Wood 172) and embraced them. I was taught not to be narrow minded, having respect (Wood 172), and to have tolerance (Wood 171) toward other cultures. Another part of this experience was the language this culture spoke. They had their own native language, but spoke English. When they spoke English, they spoke it extremely fast and it wasn t the easiest to understand. Their paralanguage (Wood 104) wasn t something I was used to either. The way I responded to them, was to slow down my own paralanguage and to speak more clearly without using any slang. This was so I could communicate with them without any interference. This made the verbal communication (Wood 67) I used much easier to understand for them. I relied on the low context communication style. Which refers to very direct, explicit, and detailed type of communication (Wood ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Reaching Out Without Dumbing Down In an age when culture continues to lower standards of intellect, Marva Dawn makes compelling observations and suggestions for the Church to rethink its strategy on impacting society. How do we evangelize without weakening the message of what we are communicating? The majority of her text focuses on the worship environment generally, but later she focuses on music, preaching, and liturgy specifically. According to Dawn, a gathering of believers should emphasize God as the subject and object of worship, challenge each individual to grow in godly character, and accentuate the community of believers (not only in the room, but throughout history as well). Through this grid, she encourages leaders and participants to evaluate each worship... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A weakness prevails in light of the previous strength. I believe Dawn over spiritualizes liturgy and ritual in her attempt to challenge churches to keep their content sharp. Although she writes, traditional styles can become as idolatrous as their contemporary counterparts (p. 96), her supporting material does not admit inferiority in her high church worship preferences. In the scheme of redemptive history, liturgies of the Lutheran church are relatively new. Why should we hold so tightly to creeds and prayers and hymns that aren t a part of the Biblical canon? Just because they worked for a period of a few hundred years does not guarantee that it will continue to be effective until the end of time. Even though they are built on eternal truths, we cannot expect these liturgies to continually relate to an ever changing culture. I agree that we must not dumb worship down, but perhaps this book could have directed us to more timeless, ancient, biblical forms than merely ones from the last 500 years. Another inadequacy in Dawn s work is her narrow view of musical value. Value is not always simple to access as indicated in chapter eight (although I thoroughly concur with her standards, I did not find them all encompassing). Dawn mentions that contemporary music is easier to perform because it is less challenging from a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One of the greatest events that happened in the United States was The March on Selma better known as Bloody Sunday . What started as a peaceful protest, turned into turmoil. Another event was when Dr. Martin Luther King gave the I Have a Dream speech during the March on Washington. This speech has been effective for many decades and is a reminder that us people should unite and strive for greatness. Though gave the Dr. King s I Have a Dream speech, our nation and other parts of the world continue to bring division and hatred. When will the world know when enough is enough? I believe that society does not owe us equality due to the fact that true equality is impossible. In order to have a perfect society, we would need to have the same level of education, the exact same amount of wealth, and the exact same social status. In other words, we would an utopian society in order to be successful. Until we get equality in education, we won t have an equal society, said Sonia Sotomayor. Being educated is highly valued within our society. Education is essential to have a better future. Some others believe that education can lead to a better job and which will eventually lead to more money. Without education the world will not function right. We would live in the world without knowledge and it would be impossible to move on with everyday life. Our society would be utopian if everyone had the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
