I wonder what this app is?
The Aurasma App allows you to view and create an overlay
over a picture making your own augmented reality! In other
words your picture come alive! (3D)
● free app
● Web based
How does this work?
● Kindergarten Student Making an Aura
● Open Aurasma app
● Press triangle at the bottom
● Press + sign, device,
● Press + sign (top), get video from camera
● Select that video
● Take picture of the trigger image
● Press arrow to the right (bottom)
● Name the aura & add to channel if you wish
Higher Order Thinking
Students Create, Evaluate, Analyze!
Examples:
● Math: What do you think the solution might be?
● Reading: deconstruct the story in different parts (retell,
recount)
● Letter Sounds: Create their jolly phonics videos
● Science: Instruction for the scientific method
● Fieldtrip: deconstruct the event into a series of pictures.
● Ss could analyze & evaluate peers auras
4 C’s : Collaboration, Critical Thinking
Communication, & Creativity
● Creativity: Ss apply existing knowledge to generate a
new product (e.g., how to print numbers/letters)
● Collaboration: Ss interact, collaborate & publish with
peers (e.g., explain word wall words)
● Critical Thinking: Ss use digital tool to analyze data on a
graph
● Communication: Ss record a special message for their
parents for open house, mother’s day, birthday, book
reviews for other classes...
Inquiry, Voice, Choice
● Ss trigger pictures can be displayed in the
classroom allowing ss to view the content
their peers have created.

Ss have an opportunity to create & share their AR to
demonstrate understanding of the goal/expectations
e.g., Responsibility Goal:

tools in their child’s learning. The Ss
explained to their parents what
happens in our K class in their 1st
language. The parents love it!

show your learning?

Assessment FOR/AS/OF Learning
Recording Ss thinking can tell us where the learner is &
where they need to go. AR can tell us his/her level of
achievement based on the learning expectation. It also
allows Ss to reflect on their own learning (strengths, needs)

AR allows for the creation of a new task previously
inconceivable.

  • 2. I wonder what this app is? The Aurasma App allows you to view and create an overlay over a picture making your own augmented reality! In other words your picture come alive! (3D) ● free app ● Web based

How does this work? ● Kindergarten Student Making an Aura ● Open Aurasma app ● Press triangle at the bottom ● Press + sign, device, ● Press + sign (top), get video from camera ● Select that video ● Take picture of the trigger image ● Press arrow to the right (bottom) ● Name the aura & add to channel if you wish
  • 4. Higher Order Thinking Students Create, Evaluate, Analyze! Examples: ● Math: What do you think the solution might be? ● Reading: deconstruct the story in different parts (retell, recount) ● Letter Sounds: Create their jolly phonics videos ● Science: Instruction for the scientific method ● Fieldtrip: deconstruct the event into a series of pictures. ● Ss could analyze & evaluate peers auras
  • 5. 4 C’s : Collaboration, Critical Thinking Communication, & Creativity ● Creativity: Ss apply existing knowledge to generate a new product (e.g., how to print numbers/letters) ● Collaboration: Ss interact, collaborate & publish with peers (e.g., explain word wall words) ● Critical Thinking: Ss use digital tool to analyze data on a graph ● Communication: Ss record a special message for their parents for open house, mother’s day, birthday, book reviews for other classes...

  • 8. Parent Communication Augmented Bulleting Boards! Meet the Teacher/Open House: Engage parents & give them a sneak preview of how I embed technology tools in their child’s learning. The Ss explained to their parents what happens in our K class in their 1st language. The parents love it! ● Send msg to families (e.g., school events, Christmas concert, character education…)

  • 10. Assessment FOR/AS/OF Learning Recording Ss thinking can tell us where the learner is & where they need to go. AR can tell us his/her level of achievement based on the learning expectation. It also allows Ss to reflect on their own learning (strengths, needs)
