• I've seen him.
• It started as dreams, but now, now he's showing up in random areas, at random times, and even
though he's terrifying, I feel a sense of calm when he's around.
• The first time I saw him was at my boyfriend's house, in his room. I woke up from a nightmare and
sat up, and there he was in the corner, just watching, stalking. I couldn't believe it was him, and
shrugged it off as me being tired and still shaken from the nightmare I had just had.
• The second time, I was at my boyfriend's again, and we were in his room. We were in bed - he was
sleeping and I got up to use the bathroom. I looked out his window, and there he was again.
Unusually tall, extremely thin, wearing that stupid black suit, just staring. I kept looking away and
looking back, and he was still there. I quickly ran to the bathroom, and ran back to bed avoiding the
window.
• The third time was two weekends ago, once again at my boyfriend's, and there he was again, same
spot as the first time! I couldn't believe it. And I began to feel that overwhelming feeling of
calmness.
• He never shows his faceless face at my house. Only at my boyfriend's. But I know he's near when
I'm home, because my cable glitches, my TV signal goes in and out, my phone acts strange... I know

LORE - Episode 74: All Fall Down
He sets the scene and compares the cities to the natural parts of the world.
He begins to talk about how dangerous the weather is and how beautiful it is.
He also talks about how weather can help us and it is out of our control to
how weather works. After a small opening he says the name of the episode
which leads to a small music cut which is played in the background when he is
talking. He says a statement about how life is unpredictable which then
follows to a series of questions about what may happen during that day and
how that will effect him. He keeps comparing the past and present to how we
work and feel. He has shown 3 examples of stories that has been effected
because of weather. Faced with shower of deadly hailstones, gods sent
drought and famine to kill a civilisation, Noah's ark with a giant flood. He talks
about gods and religion a lot but he also talks about how cruel they can be as
well as loving. Because he gives a lot of information it sets a very clear picture
in your head making the story more engaging, he describes with a few details
but enough for you to have an image in your head and it flows when he talks
so it is easy to follow what he is saying.

Doctor Who - The Seventh Doctor is Scary AF
It starts off with 3 characters talking, 2 males and 1 female. The music in the
background adds suspense to the conversation as the main speaker is talking
to the young man. The music then cuts off as the young man is talking to his
mother which you can clearly hear that he is sad and needs an answer. Having
no music helps with the dialog as you can hear more clearly to what they are
saying, which is important in this part of the conversation. Also straight after
hissing sounds appear and the women sounds terrified. The young mans
voice starts to fade and cut off which adds a dramatic effect to where he has
gone. The main voice starts to sound demonic for only a couple seconds then
the music turns back on. This adds a dark feel to the conversation as the main
voice talks about horrible stuff and says he could be their worst nightmare.
Throughout the speech the music gives his voice a more powerful and
terrorizing feel to it. Whereas the people who he is speaking to sounds
helpless and lost.

Beach Soundscape
For the beach soundscape you can hear people, birds and the ocean waves
breaking. The reason this works is because all the sounds are stereotypical
and are expected for a beach. As soon as you hear the seagulls and the ocean
your mind goes to the beach straight away as they are known sounds
together. The beach makes you feel happy and relaxed as the surrounding
sounds are calm, this representation of the beach makes you feel calm as the
ocean is slow and the birds are quiet so it gives you the same feeling as being
on the beach.

9. Idea Generation/Initial Reaction
voices, surrounding noises such as movement sounds (footsteps, animals
moving in bushes), objects falling if you are in a building (lamps, paintings,
doors opening), slow creaks for doors or the floor, wind and thunderstorms,
narrator can engage with noises.
I didn’t have a initial reaction to the task. But I am still going to do it to see if
my interest changes and develops in to something I enjoy doing. I am going to
reference my ideas from Slender man and eyeless jack. These both have eerie
stories linked to them and this would be a good platform to work from.

Working Title: Unknown Presence
Audience:
My target audience will be 16-50 years old middle to working class people. This is because I want
this to be as haunting as possible so it wouldn’t be suitable for kids or very old people. The
younger generation such as 16-20’s seem to enjoy very horrifying movies such as the nun,
conjuring and many more. Popular TV shows such as the haunting of hill house has been the
most successful horror on Netflix. This is probably because people like feeling on edge and want
a adrenaline rush, so giving them as much of a scare as possible is ideal when it comes to making
a horror story. The story I have decided to do gives a unknown feeling which draws the viewer
and listener more into the story. This gives them a mental image of something constantly
following them and no one believing or helping them on this journey.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept of my project will be a mix of eyeless jack and slender man which will create a
unknown creature that is attracted to someone until they die of injuries overtime to the
creature. I will probably do a documentary instead of a podcast so I can add some noises so that
it creates a clear image of what is going on so the listener can image what is happening. Going on
to creepy pasta helped with the outcome of the project as the website has loads of myths and
stories so creating a creature was easy. Also the stories come with a detailed way of how the
creature acts and moves. This helps with creating a sound and sequence of movement for the
creature so it can be more fitting for the creature.

didn’t feel the same. It was the first time I saw it move, it took just one step closer and stopped. I decided
to go to sleep and that’s when I heard my window open behind me. (pause) (window opening sound)
• I turned around to see why my window opened and then… (pause) I was staring face to face to a creature
with a dark blue mask with no nose or mouth staring at me. The thing that scared me the most was that it
had no eyes. Just empty, black sockets which had a black substance dripping from them. The calm meeting
turned violent as the creature lunged at me going for my chest (movement sound). I manage to avoid the
attack frantically running out the house on to the dark street. (running sound into a panting sound)
• We changed positions, I was the one looking into my window and the creature was in my room looking out
at me.
• I decided to go to the hospital to stitch up the gash it left me from the encounter. While on the bed being
treated two officers came into the room and told me news about what happened.
• “I'm sorry but both of your parents have been killed by some.. Thing, we are trying our hardest to find who
did this”
• There was no traces left behind, the only thing was my imagination and 2 bodies.

16. Daily Reflection Day 1
• Research was very easy as I had an idea in my
head already and I knew where to look for my
base of the script and story. Because of this, I
managed to make a story and script quickly
and the research helped with some of the
details rather than the actual whole story.

• The planning was also very easy as with the
horror story I picked, I used the layout of the
story which helped with the planning. Also I
went with a particular style of story so it was
easy to plan and make my script.

• Creating the audio with a script was alright to
do as I wanted big pieces of audio instead of
small pieces. This is because I feel that it helps
with the flow of the audio and doesn’t make it
choppy. This was annoying to record as if I
made a mistake I would have to re do the

My research helped me make the script and it gave me guidance to what my
end product would come out as because I used two stories merged together
with some of my twists on it as well. So having the two stories in front of me
helped with creating everything.
Also all of my sounds come from the internet so finding what would fit within
my story came from some research such as listening to some horror
documentary's or even horror films and seeing what makes thing scary by
using certain sounds or music.

23. Planning
I didn’t really plan my product but with my script and sound effects I had an
idea of what I wanted so having that image helped with the product flowing
well and sounding good to the listener.
I could improve by planning out bit by bit what I’m doing so it is easier to see
if something will work and I can visually see what I’m going to do so if I
needed to change something I can see clearly what it is and what I need to
change.

24. Time Management
I didn’t really use my time to the fullest as I stayed on the same thing for a
long time when I didn’t need to. But I managed to finish on time so having
that extra time that I didn’t use could have been useful to have so that I could
edit more sounds in or even change some of the script so it has more tension
and suspense to it.

25. Technical Qualities
The similarities to existing products are that the pauses give off tension and
breaks up the text to make it more interesting to the reader. Also fitting the
sounds to the speech was smooth so it gave a high quality feel. Most horror
films I have seen has music build up to the point in which the film is supposed
to scare you as your body gets tense as you know the scary part is coming.
This is the difference with mine and a real product because the music had to
be chosen before I made the actual speech whereas the horror production
has music specifically made for it. I recorded the audio on my phone using a
app so it just records audio instead of having a video along with it.

26. Aural Qualities
The speech sounded like a story being told at an interview or being
questioned. This is because of the way I said it in a rough tone. This gave the
story some unique parts to it and made it interesting to listen to. The effects
also made the story come together and helped tell the story. My audio in my
opinion was unique as it felt like a diary log or an interview and showing my
opinion on the event. The weaknesses of the audio is that it didn’t change
pace and carried on which gave the story a monotone feel with no excitement
in the story, that is why I feel like the effects added into the audio gave the
story more excitement which the pace could of helped and developed the
story even further.

27. Audience Appeal
My documentary would appeal to ages around 16-30 because it is not that scary but
gives you a fright still. The audio is intriguing to listen to so people don’t have to
concentrate a lot to keep up with the story so the age group such as teens and early
adults can listen to this casually without having to listen to it thoroughly which would
work well with the age group.
