This document analyzes secondary audience research for the thriller genre. It summarizes findings about the audiences for three films: The Expendables (mostly males age 15-34 in social classes D/E), Zero Dark Thirty (mostly males age 25-34 in social class AB), and Inception (equally males and females age 15-34 in social class ABC1). It concludes that successful thrillers tend to attract mostly male audiences age 15-34 from a range of social classes, though psychological thrillers may appeal more to females.
