My Questionnaire Results In order to understand audiences when it comes to music videos I created a questionnaire to gain insight.
What gender are you? As you can see from the pie chart, I used an equal amount of males and females. (eleven each and 22 participants in total).
How old are you?This graph shows the ages of the participants I used.
What is your occupation?
What genres do you listen to? This graph shows the genres that my participants listen to. In for ‘other’ genres that was picked included: R’n’B, Dance and Rap.
What is your preferred way of consuming music videos? This graphy shows that the people surveyed prefer to consume music via the TV rather than the website.
What music channels do you watch? My audience preferred Kiss channel to watch music videos on. For genres like Rock and Heavy Metal they watch music channels like Kerrang which specialises in these types of genres. Other music channels mentioned are MTV Base, Hits and Dance.
What websites do you use to consume music? Everyone mentioned that they use youtube to consume music videos.
What do you look for in a music video? Most people look for dancing and a storyline in their music videos.
What type of music video do you prefer? Here this graph shows that most people prefer a performance based music video. Within the Combination music video, people who choose it prefer a performance and narrative based video and one person preferred a concept and narrative music video.
How often do you watch music videos? Most of my participants watched music videos everyday but other ranged from either twice a week to every so often
