RESULTS TO MY
QUESTIONNAIRE.
What is your gender?
• The bar chart opposite shows the results I
got from my questionnaire in relation to the
question ‘ what is your gender?’ I handed
out my questionnaire to people as well as
having it available on my blog. The results
that I got showed that the people that
answered it, were near enough equal (more
precisely 13 female and 17 males). I was
expecting to have a slightly unequal amount
for each gender because I had no control
over who took part in the questionnaire on
my blog. It also makes the questionnaire
more reliable and realistic.
• Having a equal amount of people for each
gender allows ne to compare both genders’
results against each other and look more
into what genres of music they prefer.

How old are you?
• This pie chart shows the ages of the people
that participated in my questionnaire, the most
common ages was between 16 and 19 and
the second was 20 and 24, this therefore gives
me an idea of what age group our music
video, digi-pack and magazine would be
aimed towards. The pie chart also allows me
to have an assortment of different elements for
each page for each age group.
• The questionnaire consisted of 45% of people
who took the survey were aged between the
ages of 16 and 19. The second most popular
age group was 20 and 24 with 30 % of the
votes. The lowest percentage was 10% for the
12 to 15. The would result to the music video
to be aimed at this age group since more
teenagers and young adults watch music
videos than the other age groups. This is a
major group of people between the ages of 16
and 24 have more interest into music videos
and albums than the older generation and the
young generation.

What is your favorite music genre?
• This pie chart demonstrates that various genres that the
people who took part in my survey prefer to listen to from a
selection of popular music genres. It shows the different
music genres that people chose from. From gathering these
results, the most popular music genre of this generation was
tight between rock and Hip Hop and also R&B. This shows
what people live around and the location that they live in and
how they present themselves towards a specific genre of
music, because of this it changes the way people live their
lives and the way they act and dress.
• The music video that Jasmine and I going to create is going
to be a combination of rock and pop as they were the most
popular genres, this will also appeal to a larger target
audience. I believe because of this it will make the music
video, digi-pack and magazine more effective and successful
and subsequently more people will prefer this genre of music.
• The final decision of the genre of music video should be
conform to, will be decided between me and Jasmine. The
results enables me to have a clear understanding of what
interests people have towards their music genre.

What makes you want to watch music
videos?
• From this survey results I have managed to discover that people are encouraged
to watch music videos through the star ideology and image that the artist and
through advertisements that they see in everyday life. This aspect is important as
this data will enable us to apply this information into our music video. The votes
mainly went towards the artist themselves because many people have their
favourite artist and would try and keep to update with what that artist is doing.
This allows us to understand and apply this knowledge to our music video as well
as applying Dyer’s star theory to the video. The second most popular
encouragement was through advertisements on websites like social media sites.
Most of the target audience said that they usually watch music videos through social
networking sites when someone posts a link, shares a video or sends a link or the video
directly them.

How often do you watch music videos
(Daily)?
• The results from the survey show that people watch music videos
Three times day. This suggests that to those within the age group tend
to watch music videos via the internet through websites such as
YouTube compared to how people used to watch music videos which
was through TV programmes such as MTV music and 4music. This
increase in viewing videos over the internet allows me to develop ways
the audience can view music videos such as through social networking
sites and other sites to inform them about the music video we are
creating.

Do you buy Music albums?
• The results for this question
demonstrates that not many
people tend to buy albums as
everything is on the internet and
the use of technology is
increasing and has developed
over the years therefore not
many people purchase albums
anymore. This leads to the
closure of many well known
record stores such as HMV and
places like that, this is because
the audience download their
music illegally or from iTunes.
From this result, this allows me
and my partner to consider what
aspects of the digi-pak needs to
be eye-catching to the audience
to make them want to buy it.

What attracts you to buy a music album?
• The result to this question shows me that the important elements to a
digi-pak that attracts the audience to buying a album instead of a
individual song on its own. From the results I can see that the
appearance is the most popular with the artist in a close second.
However we will have to go slightly against the audiences opinion
because we need to make everything from the colours to the genre of
the songs important because they are what makes the digi-pak
appealing to a large target audience.
