Our target audience was people aged 14-30 based on survey results showing this age group likes horror films. The survey also found that psychological horror was the most preferred subgenre. Most respondents wanted deeper meaning in films. To appeal to these preferences, we created a psychological horror film with narrative mysteries and themes of reality and the mind. Conventions like portraying females as victims and including children were used to relate to audiences and reach the largest number of people as research showed most people sympathize with female protagonists and connect to their younger selves. A jump scare was included at the end knowing most people scare easily.
