IMPORTING AUDIO

Click on PROJECT and then IMPORT AUDIO.




Go to the folder where your music or sound effect is saved.


DELETING PORTIONS OF RECORDINGS OR MUSIC

Highlight just the portion that you want to delete and hit DELETE.




DELETING ENTIRE AUDIO TRACK

Click on the small X button on the top left corner of
the recorded track.
MOVING CLIPS

Highlight entire clip by clicking in the empty area in the box to the left of the recording.




Click on the TIME SHIFT button to change your mouse to a two-headed arrow.




Click on the highlighted clip, hold your click, and drag the clip to where you want it.
Make sure you click back on the I beam mouse function as soon as you are finished
moving the clip.


FADE IN and FADE OUT

Highlight just the music portion to which you want to add the effect. Then click on
EFFECT and then either FADE IN or FADE OUT.
ADDING BACKGROUND MUSIC



                                                          Highlight just the music
                                                          portion.
                                                          Then click on AMPLIFY.




Drag the slider almost the entire way to the LEFT and hit OK.


                                        If you are not happy with the amplification,
                                        choose EDIT and then UNDO

                                        Now you can go back and redo the amplification
                                        process . . . repeat until you are happy with the
                                        results




EXPORTING FINISHED PRODUCT

When you have finished your podcast, you need to export the file as an mp3.
DO NOT CHOOSE SAVE PROJECT AS

Click on FILE and then click on EXPORT AS MP3.
Choose where you want to save it, name the file, and hit SAVE.

When a box pops up asking you to locate the lame_enc.dll click YES.




The next box that pops up is asking you to show the computer where the LAME_ENC is
located.
So, click on the drop-down menu in the Look In box, select the LAME ENCODER, and
then hit OPEN.




The recording will export as an mp3 and a box may appear asking you to fill out title and
author info . . . just click OK to get rid of it.

Once you locate the LAME Encoder for the computer, you will not need to do this again.


When you close out of Audacity, it will ask you if you want to save your project . . .
choose NO (you exported it as an mp3, so you don’t need to save the project)
