This document outlines a lesson plan for teaching 5th grade students about the Industrial Revolution. The teacher will analyze the class of 12 boys and 8 girls, which is 60% white, 30% African American, and 10% Hispanic. Three students have IEPs. The objectives are for students to summarize and explain the main ideas of the Industrial Revolution, and discuss how children were treated differently during that time after watching a video. Students will be expected to list and explain 5 significant changes from the era with 98% accuracy after one week. To meet the objectives, students will create online posters about inventions using Glogster and PowerPoint. The teacher will introduce important inventors and how their creations impacted society.
