classmates. Most students are visual learners and prefer class discussion.
S: -Audience: 21 10th
graders from a variation of cultures.
-Behavior: To grasp the concept of the Shot Heard Round the world and its lead up.
-Condition: Through various forms of technology as well as lecture.
-Degree: 100%.
Objective: Students will learn the lead up of events to the Battles of Lexington and Concord as
well as the battles themselves. Students will be able to learn this by the end of the day with 100%
accuracy.
S: -Method: Class Discussion then into group work.
-Media: Videos, Web 2.0, Blogs, and Webquest.
-Materials: Computers, Notes, Brain.
-Class will begin by watching a video on the Battles of Lexington and Concord.
-Then we will switch gears and I will show them Pinterest and how they can obtain
information on their topics off of that site.
-Then we will go and read a few blogs about the two battles and elaborate on the shot heard
round the world.
-Finally, the class will go on a webquest which will carry over to the next day.
U: -First I would make sure the class is up to date and then I would get onto Youtube and show
them a video in which depicts the Battles of Lexington and Concord.
-Next we will get on Pinterest and I will show them how to use it and make them find one
source off of it to use for their presentation.
-Next we will look at a blog or two and have a class discussion about them to further
understanding.
-Lastly, the kids will go back into their groups and work on their webquest together.
R: -First I will make sure the class participation is right. I will make sure each student
contributed to the discussion and I will ask questions myself to make sure that they have clarity.
-Then I will monitor their group actions while they are on Pinterest and then while they are on
the webquest.
-I will make sure each kid is doing their share of the work as well as being appropriate.
E: I will assess the kids on their ability to help each other as well as their participation in the
class discussion. I will also evaluate them on how much they are contributing to their group.
