You are required to propose an appropriate FIDIC forms of contract and give a sound professional
advice to the Vice-Chancellor of the Construction Management University on post contract stage issues.
The Construction Management University is planning to build a RM400 million Postgraduate Student
Accommodation and Outreach Centre project in its campus at Petaling Jaya. The project will provide
state-of-the art academic block facilities for 3,000 postgraduate students, as well as an outreach centre
which will become the focal point for the University’s community-based teaching activities and
continuous professional development courses.
You should outline your assumptions.
You are required to write a report to advise the Vice-Chancellor of the Construction Management
University:
a) The general principle governing law in the construction contract.
b) To propose an appropriate FIDIC form of contract for this project to achieve this goal. Explain
how your selections will provide appropriate contract features.
c) The conditions guiding payment in the chosen FIDIC conditions of contract.
d) The contractual standing in terms of conditions governing contractual programme.
e) The conditions guiding termination for the contracting parties in the chosen FIDIC conditions of
contract.
f) Explain dispute resolution methods in chosen FIDIC contract that can be used for the project
and explain the rationale for your choice.
You are required to have a separate analysis section where you will compare the advice given based
on the chosen FIDIC condition of contract (c-f) with a chosen condition of contracts either PAM form of
contract or the JKR form of contract.

Requirements: all submissions should have a cover sheet identifying the module, the date and the
group students’ name. All submissions shall have a bibliography of references and sources used in
the preparation of the project. APA style of referencing should be used.
Group report must include all the respective student/ peer review forms with sealed envelope
compiled by group leader.
Work must be submitted through Turnitin and a hard copy to the lecturer on or before the
due date.
Turnitin will be used to check the originality of the report.
