1. Article Research
In my magazine I have been researching a wide range and variety of magazines to get ideas and
design my front cover and to get inspiration for my own magazine design and idea’s.
I have been researching other magazines such as Kerrang and NME and how they are set up, layed
out and which kind of style magazine they
use.
For example I have looked at this magazine
cover on the left and I like the layout of it all,
how everything fits in with the background
and how there are no gaps in the background
and all of the space in the magazine is used.
I also like how they have a set colour scheme
in the magazine cover which seems to be
yellow, this is a very bright colour but it is set
out well so that it isn’t too over powering to
audience’s eyes and so they can see the white
text but over the top of it.
I also like how there are smaller images at the
bottom which are layed out very well as the
main image is layed over the text in a very
fashionable style.
I have also been researching into NME and
how they layout their magazines and what
style of text and colour scheme they use for
the magazine.
Their magazine cover is a lot less cluttered and
complicated and more of a calm style, no
overpowering colours but the red is very calm
and the main photo is very prominent and is
the main attraction to the audience’s eye.
The text on the right is also layed out very
neat and organised, I prefer this type of layout
to kerrang as I thing is it easier, and ontop of
that it looks a lot more professional than
kerrangs does.
