ARMY DOGS
BY ALEXA
There are people in the
army. They sometimes have
companions with them. They
are dogs and they fight in the
army with them. They can be
a very big help when fighting
an enemy.
Many dogs do important
jobs in the army. They sniff
out dangerous explosives.
Also since they have a good
nose they can sniff out
wounded soldiers. They are
really good animals to have
in the army.
The most common service
dogs are German
Shepherds, Doberman
Pinschers, Belgian sheep
dogs, Farm collies, and
Giant schnauzers. They
help out with the Air
force,Coast Guard, Marine
corps, and the Navy.
There are MANY different
jobs or roles dogs have in
the army just like any person
would. One of those jobs are
sniffing out things. Just like
explosives wounded people
or soldiers. Also help search
and rescue people after or
during combat.
There are messenger dogs in
the army too. They help
deliver messages to others
while in combat. They have
to learn to move stealthily
during to and from their
location. This is a way
soldiers get messages or
signals from their fellow
troops. They get help for the
There is a dog in the army
called a M-dog or Mine
dog.This dog detects booby
traps,metallic and
nonmetallic mines. Mine
dogs were companions in
World War II in North Africa.
There is a book
called hero dogs
and it talks about
army dogs. The
book is called Hero
Dogs by National
Geographic.
There are many different
jobs in the army. Soldiers
need help sometimes so
they have dogs. That help
them play with them and
they are their
companions. We are so
thankful for our troops and
dogs.
THANKS FUR WATCHING
