Christmas Child Reflection
Operation Christmas Child has been a part of more than half of my life. I started volunteering when I
was eight at a family friend s church. However, the only reason I volunteered was because I needed
community service hours for school. I always secretly wished to be put in the packing group since it
had the least leadership role because I never wanted to be a leader. What I did not know at that time,
was those years before high school were preparing me for what God had in store for me. When I
started my freshman year in high school, I still had to do community service. This led me to continue
doing Operation Christmas Child. I was now volunteering at my school, Trinity Christian High School
along with my athletic director, Mr. Fitz, who was in charge of running it. Even though this was taking
place somewhere else, I expected that I would still be able to have a role not involving leadership.
This was not the case because Mr. Fitz had something else in store for me. He assigned to me the role
of the log sheets, which included talking to people, writing down the amount of boxes were dropped
off, and making sure the logs were neat and correct. I was very nervous to take on this role, so much
that I would start to shake causing me to get anxious and start sweating right before I would have to
talk to someone. There was a routine I went through every time. Hello, have you dropped boxes off
here before? I asked. Yes, I have a school teacher said. Great, what church or

The Need for Network Security
By: Jose L. Rodriguez
The Need for Network Security
The primary objective with this paper deals with how network security systems protect, detect, adapt,
recover and/or reconfigured from anomalies in order to provide some desired level of security
services. This paper is a strategy for the development of a general security mechanism/countermeasure
valuation scheme. The general objective addresses the question, Given the value of information to be
protected and the threat environment, how strong and assured should security mechanism(s) be to
provide desired security services(s)? [DEL98]

They can create new electronic files, run their own programs, and hide evidence of their unauthorized
activity. [BAR96]
Why the Internet is Vulnerable
In the beginning network protocols that formed part of the Internet infrastructure were designed
without security in mind. Without a fundamentally secure infrastructure, network defense becomes
more difficult. Furthermore, the Internet is an extremely dynamic environment in terms of both
topology and emerging technology. [COH95]
First, because of the inherent openness of the Internet and the original design of the protocols, Internet
attacks in general are quick, easy, inexpensive, and may be hard to detect or trace. [KRO92]
Second, many sites place unwarranted trust in the Internet. It is common for sites to be unaware of the
risks or unconcerned about the amount of the trust they place in the Internet.
Third, much of the traffic on the Internet is not encrypted, confidentiality and integrity are difficult to
achieve. This situation undermines not only applications (such as financial applications that are
network based) but also more fundamental mechanisms such as authentication and no repudiation.
Fourth, another factor contributing to the vulnerability of the Internet is the rapid growth and use of
the network, accompanied by rapid deployment of the network services involving complex
applications. Often these services are not designed, configured, or maintained

In the Painted Veil presents a Change through a Dying Marriage and a Fight against Cholera
Would you continue a marriage that you re fighting for but is eventually dying slowly? Some couples
will try to fix their problems and come with a solution. And others are devastated and just want to get
over with their problems. Not every relationship works out the way you would want it to happen. In
this novel, The Painted Veil, Kitty could not stand being with Walter the couple moved to Hong Kong
where the bored Kitty embarks on a passionate affair (Cross.3). The backdrop of a dying marriage and
fight against cholera presents the painfulness of change. I fell in love with you the first time I saw you
(Maugham.31). Walter was madly in love with Kitty. The only reason why Kitty married him was only
to avoid the humiliation of attending her younger sister s wedding (Cross.3). In this marriage, Walter
and Kitty were not going to last together for a long time the beautiful Kitty was bred to wed and
ultimately had to settle for a man she did not love due to fickleness and indecision (The Afterword.3).
Walter did not saw that Kitty was not in love with him, but eventually, he found out in a devastating
way. Kitty is a woman where she was mostly independent but couldn t see how real love really was.
Kitty s mother was in her life almost every single day which gave Kitty an unhealthy relationship

Art Spiegelman s Maus
Art Spiegleman s comic book within the comic book Maus is titled Prisoner on the Hell Planet: A
Case History. This text within a text describes, in horrific detail through pictures, Artie s failed effort
to get through the painful loss of his mother due to suicide. This text also in a way, represents a part of
Artie s mind where he expresses his feelings of loneliness, doubt, fear, anger, and blame through the
form of a dark, gloomy, depressing cartoon.
In the first frame on page 100 nest to the title Prisoner on the Hell Planet: A Case History, including
this picture of Artie and his mother at Trojan Lake in 1958 (ten years before his mother killed herself).
Adding this picture of Artie and his mother brings a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the past Artie may have felt that his mother was always trying to compare him to her first son
Richieu, which may be the reason for Artie having to stay in a mental hospital for three months. In the
present time, in spite of his mother s actions towards him, Artie tries to be away from home as often as
possible. So, he stays over at his girlfriend s place a few days at a time.
The fourth frame of this short story depicts Artie running down the sidewalk, and his narration above
reading: I d just spent the weekend with my girlfriend, Isabella. (My parents didn t like her.) I was late
getting home. As I mentioned before, Artie probably stays at his girlfriend s house often because he
does not want to be near his parents which explains why he was late. There is little if any connection
between Artie and his parents, especially with his mother. He knows that he will never be his older
brother Richieu and this disappoints his parents.
The fifth frame of this strip is one of the most important frames. In this frame, Artie expresses to the
reader for the first time the guilt he has developed resulting from his mother s suicide. He states I
suppose that if I d gotten home when expected, I would have found her body. Accentuating I by
bolding it and making it stand out, demonstrates to the reader that he puts the blame on himself for his
mother s suicide and feels guilty. The subsequent two frames reveal that

Happiness In A Christmas Carol
George Sand once said There is only happiness in this life,to love and be loved. . Happiness can mean
anything, it is not only with money it can be with family or friends. Money doesn t buy happiness
because money does not stay with the owner. In the play A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley,
Scrooge would think that his happiness was with all the money. Scrooge was a grumpy, mean, and
didn t care about anyone. Marley his partners for business was just like him but now he is paying for
it. This are the Cratchits, Mr. Scrooge. They are not highly special. They are happy, grateful, please

Moving to Canada was the toughest days of my life. People in my country believe that my education
would be increased and I became a better person. On the contrary, not everything happened in an
instance. I have to undergo in a lot of difficulties to achieve my goals. I kept saying to myself that I
might change my mind to give up on school and become an alcoholic or a drug addicts. But, my
conscience told me to follow my dream. Difficulties I faced in Canada were orienting me to this new
place. However, the toughest one of all was the language barrier. In my country, it s mandatory to
learn English and French considering the past of colonization in my country. If I don t study those
languages in school, the government could sue my parents. Likewise Creole was my native language
which consisted of French and African words. To contrast, the English taught in my country was
insignificant compared to Canada. It put a lot of stress on me as well as my parents. But after two
years, I managed to get out of this weight. My main sourced was reading many books that were an
advised by a teacher. This definitely changed my life and overcome this shyness. After all, the fear of
failure from not having a better future and no reputation made me kept on in

Alternatives For Overcrowding Emergency Departments
ALTERNATIVES FOR OVERCROWDING EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS
Meeting the Challenge and Filling the Gaps in America s Healthcare System
Executive Summary: Many visits to the Emergency Department are made for non emergent needs.
This causes congestion in the healthcare system and makes it harder for those who truly need
emergent medical attention receive the care they need. Aging populations, under or non insured
patients, Medicaid expansions, and Psychiatric/Behavioral Health problems directly impact
overcrowding in the Emergency Department. Providing alternative facilities and services, and utilizing
Community Paramedicine programs will alleviate the strain overcrowding Emergency Departments
face on a regular basis.
Introduction: Overcrowding in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Federal Mandates: Annual visits to the Emergency Department in the United States grew by 40%
between 1998 and 2013 while the number of hospitals with an Emergency Department available
declined by 14% (Newhook, 2014). Emergency Medicine is the only specialty within the House of
Medicine that carries mandates from the federal government to provide care to anyone who requests
it. One such federal mandate is The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA).
The EMTALA requires hospitals and ambulance services to provide care and treatment to anyone
needing or requesting it, regardless of their ability to pay, legal status, and citizenship (Barish,
Mcgauly, Arnold, 2012). A survey conducted by the American Hospital Association (2010) revealed
that more than half of America s urban hospital emergency departments were at or over capacity 130
out of 168 hours in a given week. The surveyed showed non emergent visits tripled the emergent
visits.
Behavioral Health: Instance of Psychiatric/Behavioral Health Problems have significantly increased
over the last few decades. While many of the causes are unknown, Behavioral problems negatively
impact overcrowding in the emergency department. David Judge (2013) reports Mental Health related
ED visits have increased 75% between 2002 2014. The issues is not the fact there is an

Disadvantages Of Wireless Networks
Technology is constantly advancing, which causes a need for mobile and wireless networks. However,
the creation of mobile and wireless networks causes a need to increase security protocols and
measures. Cell phones are now being used for sensitive work information, as well as laptops. Many
people have the capability of working from home by using laptops issued by their employers. Using a
home or public network is not always safe, it does not have the security and systems to monitor the
network and access. Before any work is done on these devices the proper security needs to be in place
such as firewalls, pop up blockers, and private network connections. However, there are both
advantages and disadvantages to the use of wireless networking and what is will be like in the future.
To start, a wireless network or Wi Fi is a technology that allows electronic devices to exchange data or
connect to the Internet through wireless communications using 2.4 GHz signals or 5 GHz signals. Wi
Fi is also used to synonymously to indicate a wireless local area network (WLAN) based on the IEEE
802.11 protocol (Ghosh, Sinha B, K, 2016, p. 4). Mobile networking and Wi Fi are key factors in
society. Wi Fi was invented and first released in 1997. Becki Wood wrote an article titled History of
WiFi in the article she says WiFi has played an integral role in keeping us connected at home and in
public. We ve come to expect a standard degree of connectivity wherever we go, and regularly rely on

Biochemistry is the Secret of my Future
Biochemistry is the Secret of my Future Excellence is not a singular act, but a habit. You are what you
repeatedly do, which serves as my personal motto as I find myself a very passionate person, always
looking for the top. In addition, having experienced different kinds of adversity, I learned the value of
not giving up. In fact, instead of giving up, I worked on prospective solutions to which I struggled
with. In spite of this merit, striving for success is always a characteristic of mine.
Graduation from the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, at the Umm Al Qura University (UQU) in

During my time as a TA, I performed all the tasks that were assigned to me such as working for one
year in the Chemistry Lab, and participating as a Volunteer in one of the World Diabetes Days. These
duties made me realize, evaluate, and develop my interest in the field which has ultimately helped me
gain a wider understanding to further evolve my passion for Chemistry.
My ambition for Science and education is limitless as my short term goal is to achieve a Master s
Degree in Biochemistry. I would appreciate the opportunity to major in the Cellular and Systems
Biochemistry. Even though the program is based on traditional courses, the combination of two
focused areas of the program will enhance and enrich my background to pursue higher studies such as
a PhD. Due to the fact that my information about the Biochemistry field is miniscule and confined,
gaining the acceptance to the Master of Science Program in Cellular and Systems Biochemistry at the
University of California, San Diego (UCSD), is a mandatory step toward my lifelong dream, which is
being an active member of a society and contributing to the field of Science. Moreover, I have the
keenness to expand my expertise in Biochemistry that will support my professional life as I have

The Basics Of Canada s Mixed Economic System
Most countries around the world, including Canada, rely on a mixed market economy system in which
the allocation of most resources, goods and services is determined by supply and demand through
markets and prices. This system has many flaws, including environmental damage, high income
inequality both within and between countries, resource depletion and so on.
When I think of alternative economic system, I have to go back to the basics of mixed economic
system, what actually is and what it does. In every kind of society we have to consider two things;
how it produces goods and services and how these goods and services are distributed.one of the flaws
of is that it tends to learn more on the governmental control than the freedom of individuals.
Sometimes, government regulations may cost company so much that it put it out of market hence
paralyzing production features (Tsuruta, 1997). This encourages social democratic programs which
retain capitalist s mode of production. The program also retain fundamental issues of capitalism such
as cynical fluctuations, exploitation and alienation.
Another government negative is that it decides the amount of tax on products which may lead to hike
of the prices of such products hence people unwillingness to buy. Lack of price control management
can cause deficiencies in goods hence bringing market imbalance.
Social democracy is mostly flawed for maintaining a property owning capitalist class which actively
reverse social democratic

Analysis Of The Novel Loving Pedro Infante
In defining one s identity, many different factors are considered; such as one s nationality,
characteristic, personality, ability, experience, religion, and etc. Especially for those people who live in
America, so called country of immigration, has much more complicated identities than those Asian
country people where mixed people are rarely noticed. Thinking about the concept of identity, some
people easily categorized themselves as simple factors and terms which could describe their surface;
white, black, Asian, European, pretty, ugly, nice, mean and so on and so forth. And that is the most
point where majority people stopped to list their identities from exploring more in complicated range.
However, there are many people who dig more than common people; one great example would be
Denise Chavez, who is the author of the novel called Loving Pedro Infante, who kept asking herself
about her identity to approach more accurate and clear ideas. In her work, reader could see the
confusion of Tere, the main character of the novel, went through her life as Latin American female in
dealing with finding one s true identity and how she accept her as who she really is. Denise Chavez,
who is obviously Latin American lady, mirror her own life experience through the character she
created and introduce to readers about tough life she lived in America as Mejicana. The main character
of this novel have a clear understanding and strong idea about herself throughout the novel, even if

They are used in anticipation of an emergent need, to administers fluids, nutrition, medications, blood

The meta analysis of all the studies cited in Morrison and Holt s research, if approved by the CDC
would indicate a big change in the nursing process. This procedure is painful for patients and time
consuming for nurses. This article also indicated the amount of money and resources that would be

redirected to other things in patient care. Conclusion the conclusion that peripheral IV catheters can be
changed only when clinically indicated without increased risk to the patient and with cost savings for
healthcare organizations. Per the present CDC guidelines, and the research done, there is no increase
of the incidence of infection or phlebitis This will be a big change in nursing practice. References

Why Positive Intelligence Can Help An Hr Professional...
Introduction The power of positive thinking has been lauded for its ability to bring light and good
feelings to bad situations since the beginning of man. Everyone who was able to harness the power of
positive thought was able to bring new and innovative inventions to mankind because they didn t
allow failures and negative experiences shape the way they viewed the toils of their work. In other
words, people were able to see the glass as half full rather than half empty which brought about
positive outcomes because they were able to see through all the negative aspects of their work or life.
This brief discussion will talk about just that, the power of positive intelligence. I ll begin by defining
positive intelligence and talking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Importance of Possessing a Positive Intelligence As we ve seen from the definition of positive
intelligence, it seems as though the importance of mastering the concepts are self evident. We all want
to perform at our best in whatever task we take on providing the greatest possible product or resource
for our employer. We ve all worked with someone who has constantly portrayed a negative attitude
and it never contributed to a highly effective workplace. John Maxwell is a motivational speaker and
leadership expert has made a living off of getting people to think more positively through their daily
tasks to produce high level results. In his Daily Reader book he provides an example of what positive
thought and positive expectations can provide a person. He says that if a person gives themselves just
30 days of expecting the best of everything they will often receive the positive outcomes they
perceive. He says a person will get out of their life everything they expect from it, god or bad
(Maxwell, 2007). The power of positive intelligence can be profound on a personal and professional
level and its importance should not be discredited.
Becoming More Productive Through Positive Intelligence An HR manager can have a tremendous
impact on the productivity of an organization. One of the ways they can influence an organization is
by properly managing the change process and

What Is South Park Oxymoron
For South Park to be a cartoon and the main characters are drawn as children, its provides not on irony
but an oxymoron as well. Its purpose is to appeal male audience as well. I believe it is a balance for a

adult cartoon that caters to the inner child of older viewers who watch it.
Notable television review companies such as TV.com, IMDb, and Common Sense Media rated South

different factors. It is at your discretion which source you believe is more factual ; however, there is

The Media In The Movies
Moving on, zombies and the lower class have an interesting future ahead. According to the essay The
Media in the Movies zombies make their interactions primarily through pop culture and media. Media
is becoming the way of life around most of the world. Nearly everything is now digital and accessible
via an electronic device. This electronic domination can go both ways for zombies as their initial
appeal method of movies may take a hit because less people are heading to movie theaters and are
watching movies and television shows via streaming websites such as Netflix. According to MPPA.org
there has been a steep decline of about five percent in movie theater attendance. This can potentially
hurt the zombie appeal because movies are a huge display point for zombies and having a decline in
movie theater attendance mean less people are watching the zombie brand. On the flip side, it is
beginning to look like zombies are no longer relying on items such as movies but instead focus on
television shows in hopes of expanding the brand. Numerous zombie incorporated television shows
such as The Walking Dead have rapidly gained popularity as these shows are becoming much watch
TV for many people. In the midst of all this it seems as zombies aren t being hurt but rather changing.
Which is similar to the lower class as it will continue to evolve as well. In the current United States
economic system, the middle class is shrinking and soon there will only be a lower and an

The Canadian Corps and CEF
The Confederation took place in 1867, and the Canadian Expeditionary Force(CEF) was raised in
1914. The CEF is what protects what the Confederation created, and would not the nation s greatest
achievement be protecting that which the nation created. Canada did not enter the war of its own
accord but was automatically at war when Britain declared war against Germany. Canada entered the
war to stand by its mother country, to protect the country who founded it. The Canadian Corps and
CEF were created to defend Canada, and fought not only in the war but for the recognition that
Canada deserved, to then show that in the Great War we achieved something great, and finally to piece
together to how Canada is now, to build through the years and show that this was truly Canada s
greatest achievement.
The Canadian Corps and CEF were formed to protect Canada in times of war. The Canadian Corps
was formed as an operational force in France and Flander s Field in 1914. Collectively every troop
that were deployed were referred to as the Canadian Corps. The Canadian Corps was sent out in 3
divisions, the first sent to England in 1914 and trained on the Salisbury Plain and then crossed over to
France to join the war. The second division was formed in 1915 and immediately sent over to France.
The third was a fully manned and equipped combat division disbanded at the end of the First World
War. These divisions were each sent out as a small operational force that defended Canada. However

Tupac Shakur
Tupac Shakur Turning Struggles into Success
Violent lyrics, a bad boy image, and a long criminal record are what attracted and connected millions
of young adults to the now legendary rapper Tupac Shakur. Tupac was a man of contradictions; for
example, his music degraded and also praised strong women. Tupac Shakur rapped about problems
that inner city black Americans could relate to, along with his legal and personal drama; you could not
get away from Tupac in the 1990 s. From the womb to the day Tupac Shakur died he went through the
struggles many self proclaimed gangsters these days do as well; but using these problems he took the

Tupac s work in this movie made him a household name. A year later, he starred in John Singleton s
movie, Poetic Justice. With the success in the box office he still stood as the main instigator in the
battle between east coast and west coast communities. In 1995 Tupac signed with Suge Knight and
Death Row Records and released All Eyez on Me . Many tracks on the album threw violent lyrics at
Christopher and other east coast rappers, even claiming on the track Hit em Up to have slept with
Christopher Wallace s wife.
Tupac was on top of the Hip Hop world, he was being watched on the big screen in theatres, at home,
and you could hear him being blared in cars riding in and out of the streets of major cities in the
United States. While Tupac was loved by many, he was appalled by twice as many. Even the Vice
President, Dan Quayle, called for his first album, 2pacalyse to be banned. Quayle insisted on this after
a Texas teenager announced in court that it had inspired him to murder a state trooper (Tupac).

The Benefits Of Scope Economies
One study of 36 large IDNs that contained hospitals, physicians, and health plans found that the more
providers invested in their IDNs, the lower their operating margins. Moreover, as hospitals diversified
into these different businesses, the larger was the negative impact on their financial position (e.g.,
higher debt to capitalization ratio). (Burns, Gimm, and Nicholson, 2005 pg 21). A more recent study
has found that integration of health plans with providers (hospitals or physician groups) to serve the
Medicare Advantage population is associated with higher plan premiums (Frakt, Pizer, and Feldman,
2013 p 21).
Diversification is defined as the expansion of the firm across product, geographic, and customer
markets. Firms have traditionally relied on this strategy for one of three major goals: growth, risk
reduction, and profitability. Commonly sough benefits include scope economies (via shared resources
and capabilities across businesses), economies from internalized transactions, and improved access to
market information (Grant, 2010). The benefits of scope economies are often referred to as synergies.
Other rationales include the firm s efforts to escape an increasingly unattractive market and to make
effective use of surplus cash flows by investing them in more attractive products or services. (Pg 22).
Research has shown that by diversifying, businesses can decrease its financial losses which is
identified by its higher debt to capitalization ratio.

I Have The Pleasure Of Volunteering My Service At Bilal...
Over the past semester, I have had the pleasure of volunteering my services to Bilal Oromo Dawa
Center in Fridley, Minnesota as a tutor and person of influence to children ages 6 18. Bilal Oromo
Dawa Center s (BODC) mission statement is as follows: Bilal Oromo Dawa Center is a charitable,
religious, social, cultural, educational nonprofit organization dedicated to serve the Muslim
community. As I have come to find out, BODC is a community center that offers many different
services for all its community members. The services range from tutoring services, weekend school
for Islamic studies, funeral services, Friday congregational prayers, family and marriage counseling,
youth sports, and general community services. BODC is a relatively new organization; however, they
stem from Tawfiq Islamic Center in North Minneapolis. Tawfiq Islamic Center (TIC) has been open to
the community since 2004 and is still open. TIC and BODC share a similar community member base
and actively cooperate to better the community.
I have been aware of TIC since it was opened on inaugural day and practically grew up in that facility
as I attended practically every event they have set up. I attended weekend school during my
adolescence, and I eventually became a teacher s assistant for the program. It would be an
understatement to say that I always felt indebted to the community for playing a large role in my
childhood. I continued to teach Arabic and Islamic studies there for a couple of years before

Brain Process Memory
The brain processes memory in three stages. Think of your brain like a computer. The first stage is
called encoding. The brain records usable information in your memory. The second stage is storage.
The brain uses that recordable information and stores it to be used later. The final stage is retrieval.
The brain the recovers that recordable information that was stored to use at a later date.
There are three types of memory: sensory, short term and long term. First, a split second memory of
sight, sound and other senses is sensory memory. Driving down the highway, I heard a car speeding
towards me. The car nearly side swiped me. I smelled the burnt rubber as it swerved to miss me. I
tried to quickly look at the license plate, but the car was driving fast. I caught a first glimpse of the
plate, but could not remember it. This is an example of sensory memory. Information that is not
retained is forgotten. The information that is retained is then stored in our short term memory.
Second, short term memory remains in the brain for a short period of time, maybe 25 seconds unless it
is reiterated over and over again to be preserved longer in the ... Show more content on

Long term memory can be stored permanently. If you review material for an extended period and it is
significantly important to you, it can be forever left in the memory then also tough to recover. Long
term memory has two parts. The first is declarative memory which consists of periods, details, etc. For
instance, I was born in November. It is an actual detail which makes it declarative memory.
Declarative memory is also distributed in semantic and episodic memory. Semantic memory is periods
or information about the world. Episodic memory is memory of occasions at a specific time, place or
setting. An occasion in my life that I remember is the first time I met my husband. The second is
procedural memory. How to drive a car is an example of procedural

Loss In Frankenstein Research Paper
The concept of loss is a natural part of human existence. It plagues humanity with its non prejudiced
hand. Cruel, it can be defined, but necessary nonetheless. How can one deal with such damaging
circumstances? Many seek respite from this inevitable evil through the raw expression of the human
soul onto paper, a novel. These thought invoking expressions have long demonstrated human kind s
ability, or lack there of, to deal with loss. From Edgar Allen Poe s The Raven, to Henry Wadsworth
Longfellow s The Cross of Snow, loss is a topic humans can relate to on the deepest level, as it is
something that we all must face. Frankenstein and The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, two widely
celebrated novels, are both are influenced by the theme of loss ... Show more content on

To be an individual, there must be a unique sense of one s self to feel complete. Without this sense of
one s self, the mind takes a dangerous path and finds negative things to evoke the desired feeling of
completeness. When this sense of one s self is altered, it brings disdain and guilt to the individual.
This disdain and guilt are evinced in the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, as well as Frankenstein.
Frankenstein s monster (The Creature) was an intelligent being that could think on his own, and
developed feelings and thought processes. He happened upon a family in a cottage, and their kindness
and love toward one another created the yearning of this for himself. Because of the abnormality of
his appearance, he is rejected harshly by the cottagers, losing his sense of self from a person that
deserves love, to that to a wretch, doomed forever to suffer at the rejection of man kind. In the Rime
of the Ancient Mariner the loss of self identity is presented as the hanging of the albatross corpse
around the Ancient Mariner s neck, giving allusion to a cross to be carried, that represents the guilt of
his actions: Instead of the cross, the albatross/ About my neck was hung . (Coleridge) Instead of his
identity being an honorable mariner, sailing the world on his journey s, he is haunted by his one cruel
act and forced to carry it with

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Night By Dylan Thomas
In 1957 Dylan Thomas published a poem called Do Not Go Gentle into That Night. While reading the
poem towards the end you find out that this poem was not only about the inevitable death that one
faces at the end of life, but also that this poem was for his dying father. In this poem Thomas uses a
form of poetry called villanelle to intertwine many themes, as well as, symbolism and imagery to draw
the reader into a sensory experience. Villanelle is a very structured form of poetry that was originated
in the french language before it was introduced to the english language. It consists of nineteen lines of
poetry and it is divided into six stanzas, it is composed of five three lined stanzas and one four lined
stanza. Villanelles also have a very specific rhyme pattern The first and third lines of the first tercet
rhyme with each other, and this rhyme is repeated through each of the next four tercets and in the last
two lines of the concluding quatrain, this could also be called a refrain (Glossary A13). Dylan follows
the scheme very well using the rhyme aba aba aba aba aba abaa. While Dylan follows the poetry form
to a T he also is able to incorporate many themes into his poem. One of which, being a very obvious
one already stated, mortality. Even though death is inevitable, Dylan suggest that people should fight
against the odds to redeem themselves, Rage, rage against the dying of the light (Thomas 3). He uses
the dying of the light to describe the sunset which is

Jayson Blair Journalism Case Study
Jayson Blair, former New York Times reporter was found guilty of committing acts of fraud and
plagiarism for more the 600 articles he wrote in 2003 after 5 years. In his journey into journalism he
went from raw intern to reporter. His colleagues and other public officials made the first allegations
that his articles were fabricated. The investigation found he was lying about being at the scene of
major events in history (Times reported, 2003). It shocked a lot of people because he was a lead
reporter for one of the biggest news articles in US (10 Years After Jayson Blair). The investigation
went further and New York Times reviewed all his articles in depth. It was stated that Jayson Blair was
not in the locations he describes in his articles. However, he made it seem that way. They found out he

New York Times was disgraced and upset with the distrust and was determined to get him out (Times
reported, 2003). He later resigned along with an apology for the damage done by his violations in
journalism (7 Famous Plagiarism Cases). From the Liberty University code of honor, plagiarism is
defined as The intentional or reckless failure to give sufficient attribution in traditional academically
accepted form to the words, ideas, or data of others that the student has incorporated into work the
student submits for academic credit, publication, qualification for a law school organization, or other
benefit and that may reasonably mislead the reader as to the true source of the words, ideas, or data. I
believe plagiarism is wrong because you re using someone else s hard work without giving them the
credit. Some individuals took years to finish a paper, or thesis! I think it s a sign of respect to site what

Character Analysis Of Mark Watney In The Martian
Mark Watney in the book, The Martian by Andy Weir stayed on Mars for over a year and a half. Alone
and hopeless, from the day he was stranded to the day he left, it was a never ending struggle to survive
taking a deep toll on him mentally and physically. Mark Watney s personality and attitude never
changed, he took the worse of situations and lightened them up, while still understanding fully of the
seriousness of them. Traumatizing events and life threatening circumstances never even phased
Watney, he kept the same positive attitude throughout the entirety of the novel resulting in him being a
static character and making little change throughout the book. Mark Watney was brought onto Ares 3
(the mission to Mars) mostly because of his charisma. When put under pressure and tough situations,
he deals with this by cracking jokes, Yes, of course duct tape works in a near vacuum. Duct tape works
anywhere. Duct tape is magic and should be worshipped. During high stress moments, Watney is
constantly making remarks like this quote. Being able to poke fun at a bad situation is Watney s way
of easing tension levels and making the best of bad situations. Having this charisma was crucial for
giving Watney hope to keep pushing on each day, which is why he never changed, having any other
personality would be counterproductive to his main goal of getting rescued. Being able to analysis
whatever problem is thrown at him then from there ease stress from cracking jokes was Watney s way

African American Inequality In Literature
Inequality in America is expressed in many ways, for example literature and media. Today, I d like to
focus on American Literature of African American inequality through Narrative Identity. Narrative can
be expressed as a basic human strategy for coming to terms with fundamental elements of our
experience, such as time, process, and change. While Narrative Identity is identified as is the study of
the distinctive nature of narrative and its various structures, elements, uses, and effects. (Course
Notes). I have chosen three authors who expressed their views of racial inequality through poems and
short stories. Frederick Douglas, Zora Neale Hurston, and Langston Hughes are all African American
descendants who have personally experienced inequality in American and has chosen to express their
experiences in American Literature. Even though these authors have shared experiencing inequality,
they are all different because of the time in which their experienced occurred.
Frederick Douglas a former slave later to remembered as a hero, wrote a book about his life called The
Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglas. In this narrative Frederick Douglas expresses how African
Americans were treated during this time. He goes into detail about his experiences from an illiterate
lost young boy to a self educated confident grown man. Frederick Douglas was born into slavery
1818. He among many other slaves have no recognition of their origin. I was born in Tuckahoe, near

The Importance Of Peace Corps In Nursing
The Peace Corps has values which I believe in and would stand for, given the chance. I would like to
be given the chance because I want to partake in educating those in need. I believe that the Peace
Corps can help me do so. For example, the Peace Corps educates the communities in order to ensure
that they will be able to support themselves after the volunteers leave. This is important to me because
it is not enough to simply teach someone how to do things, but to reevaluate that they can do it
themselves. This is what my nursing education has taught me with planning, implementing,
reevaluation and finally discharge of patients. I trust that the Peace Corps is the best environment for
me to develop and make use of my nursing skills. In addition,

Challenges And Opportunities For The Government Digital...
Every invention is faced by challenges and opportunities, which need to be taken into consideration.
Innovation doesn t only look at having an idea but solving a solution to a problem and adapting ideas,
which have already existed. Innovation is the specific tool for entrepreneurs, the means by which they
exploit change as an opportunity for a different business or service . (Joe Tidd, 1997)
This essay will deliver an outline on the challenges and opportunities for the government digital
service, in order to give a more reflective view, the essay will be fragmented into smaller segments,
considering these questions in the case study that has been presented which can provide an easier way
of understanding what opportunities and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additional challenges in which the government digital services are facing is they are trying to make
services digital only, however, not everyone has access to a digital devices such as smartphones,
laptops or tablets to access digital services, therefore excluding the general public. By excluding the
general public, the government digital service face the challenges of innovating the new service as it is
not able to understand their needs fully, therefore cannot come with better ways of bridging the gap
between the government and the citizens who are excluded from it.
Furthermore, another challenge in which is facing the government digital service is shifting the
website onto a more mobile platform such as smartphones due to the fragile nature of the data being
handled on an app, there is an issue of data being stored and handled securely. This affects the aim of
the GDS, as it wants to provide the services in an easier and faster method. It can be disputed with the
rise of smartphones, it would be the most effected if it didn t have an issue of trust. This would be an
innovative challenge, as you cannot exploit the gap in the market for mobile devices.
Opportunities regarding the government digital service can be examined through services such as open
data, as it allows a combination of different sources to be accessible to the government. Instead of
duplication of the data, it will enable the data to be utilized in a more effective manner. It can

Informative Speech On Content Implementation Plan Essay
Content Implementation Plan I am appreciative for the valuable information I obtained from this
course. I intend to incorporate the researched practices into my reading program. Allington addressed
several critical components of instruction necessary to ensure reading interventions are delivered with
the best intentions and students are responding successfully to the reading interventions. However, my
aha moments included the topics: the volume of reading, matching students independent and
instructional reading levels to appropriate texts, expert interventionist, matching intervention to the
classroom curriculum, and group size. Volume of Reading I agree with Allington, the volume of
reading is a critical component which supports the quantity of extensive reading, required to ensure
struggling readers accuracy and fluency rates accelerate to develop proficient readers. Often the
reading interventions focus on specific reading skills such as phonics, word recognition, fluency
(speed), and etc. The research suggests the intervention time be dedicated to continuous reading versus
using the majority of the time working on individual skills. Allington provided me the critical
awareness and the importance of the quantity of extensive reading. I definitely will redesign my
intervention time to reflect the suggested amount of time to focus on individual reading skills and
extensive reading, as Allington suggested. Therefore, I look forward to incorporating extensive

Theogony And The Biblical Book Of Genesis, Hesiod And Genesis
At first glance, the story of how it all began in Hesiod s Theogony, and in the Biblical book of Genesis
reveals certain similarities that I picked up on. Hesiod and Genesis share the same order of events:
mankind exists in alongside heavenly beings in utopia where there is just; a woman is introduced into
this utopian world; the actions of the woman produces the loss of before said utopia. This pattern is
used by both works of literature to better explain the presence of problems such as chaos and turmoil
in human existence, and both Hesiod and Genesis credit the first woman with these problems. In a
journal article Published by The Johns Hopkins University Press, the author declares that It is
especially striking that the biblical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Genesis 3.16)
But despite these similarities, Eve and Pandora are characteristically different. Unlike Pandora, Eve is
not naturally evil. She was created from one of Adams ribs, making Eve of the same material and
nature as her husband. Pandora, conversely, is basically different from man. I figured this because
Hesiod does not give a significant story of how man came to be in these sections, but Pandora s
attributes from the gods, including both her beauty and her deceitfulness, marks her as a separate
individual. However, Eve is meant to be a companion for Adam, to say that Pandora was a gift is
plainly ironic. This inconsistency is at the difference between the women. Pandora is a punishment for
man. Theogony exposes this, by calling her evil for man or through the instance with the jar, which is
an indicator of her deceitful nature. Neither work specifies if Pandora actually undergoes suffering
alongside man. Eve, however, is a victim of her actions as much as Adam is, and these two suffer
together, if not wholly in the same way.
Despite their inherent differences, I do believe they are similar in how they are portrayed as the less
significant sex. Despite Eve being created from Adam, she was not created of an entirely new
framework such as Adam, as if she was not important enough to do so. Both Pandora and Eve were
created secondly both

  • 2. Christmas Child Reflection Operation Christmas Child has been a part of more than half of my life. I started volunteering when I was eight at a family friend s church. However, the only reason I volunteered was because I needed community service hours for school. I always secretly wished to be put in the packing group since it had the least leadership role because I never wanted to be a leader. What I did not know at that time, was those years before high school were preparing me for what God had in store for me. When I started my freshman year in high school, I still had to do community service. This led me to continue doing Operation Christmas Child. I was now volunteering at my school, Trinity Christian High School along with my athletic director, Mr. Fitz, who was in charge of running it. Even though this was taking place somewhere else, I expected that I would still be able to have a role not involving leadership. This was not the case because Mr. Fitz had something else in store for me. He assigned to me the role of the log sheets, which included talking to people, writing down the amount of boxes were dropped off, and making sure the logs were neat and correct. I was very nervous to take on this role, so much that I would start to shake causing me to get anxious and start sweating right before I would have to talk to someone. There was a routine I went through every time. Hello, have you dropped boxes off here before? I asked. Yes, I have a school teacher said. Great, what church or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paper is a strategy for the development of a general security mechanism/countermeasure valuation scheme. The general objective addresses the question, Given the value of information to be protected and the threat environment, how strong and assured should security mechanism(s) be to provide desired security services(s)? They can create new electronic files, run their own programs, and hide evidence of their unauthorized activity. [BAR96] Why the Internet is Vulnerable In the beginning network protocols that formed part of the Internet infrastructure were designed without security in mind. Without a fundamentally secure infrastructure, network defense becomes more difficult. Furthermore, the Internet is an extremely dynamic environment in terms of both topology and emerging technology. [COH95] First, because of the inherent openness of the Internet and the original design of the protocols, Internet attacks in general are quick, easy, inexpensive, and may be hard to detect or trace. [KRO92] Second, many sites place unwarranted trust in the Internet. It is common for sites to be unaware of the risks or unconcerned about the amount of the trust they place in the Internet. Third, much of the traffic on the Internet is not encrypted, confidentiality and integrity are difficult to achieve. This situation undermines not only applications (such as financial applications that are network based) but also more fundamental mechanisms such as authentication and no repudiation. Fourth, another factor contributing to the vulnerability of the Internet is the rapid growth and use of

In the past Artie may have felt that his mother was always trying to compare him to her first son Richieu, which may be the reason for Artie having to stay in a mental hospital for three months. In the present time, in spite of his mother s actions towards him, Artie tries to be away from home as often as possible. So, he stays over at his girlfriend s place a few days at a time. The fourth frame of this short story depicts Artie running down the sidewalk, and his narration above reading: I d just spent the weekend with my girlfriend, Isabella. (My parents didn t like her.) I was late getting home. As I mentioned before, Artie probably stays at his girlfriend s house often because he does not want to be near his parents which explains why he was late. There is little if any connection between Artie and his parents, especially with his mother. He knows that he will never be his older brother Richieu and this disappoints his parents. The fifth frame of this strip is one of the most important frames. In this frame, Artie expresses to the reader for the first time the guilt he has developed resulting from his mother s suicide. He states I suppose that if I d gotten home when expected, I would have found her body. Accentuating I by bolding it and making it stand out, demonstrates to the reader that he puts the blame on himself for his mother s suicide and feels guilty. The subsequent two frames reveal that ... Alternatives For Overcrowding Emergency Departments ALTERNATIVES FOR OVERCROWDING EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS Meeting the Challenge and Filling the Gaps in America s Healthcare System Executive Summary: Many visits to the Emergency Department are made for non emergent needs. Federal Mandates: Annual visits to the Emergency Department in the United States grew by 40% between 1998 and 2013 while the number of hospitals with an Emergency Department available declined by 14% (Newhook, 2014). Emergency Medicine is the only specialty within the House of Medicine that carries mandates from the federal government to provide care to anyone who requests it. One such federal mandate is The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA). The EMTALA requires hospitals and ambulance services to provide care and treatment to anyone needing or requesting it, regardless of their ability to pay, legal status, and citizenship (Barish, Mcgauly, Arnold, 2012). A survey conducted by the American Hospital Association (2010) revealed that more than half of America s urban hospital emergency departments were at or over capacity 130 out of 168 hours in a given week. The surveyed showed non emergent visits tripled the emergent visits. Behavioral Health: Instance of Psychiatric/Behavioral Health Problems have significantly increased over the last few decades. • 10. Disadvantages Of Wireless Networks Technology is constantly advancing, which causes a need for mobile and wireless networks. However, the creation of mobile and wireless networks causes a need to increase security protocols and measures. Cell phones are now being used for sensitive work information, as well as laptops. Many people have the capability of working from home by using laptops issued by their employers. Using a home or public network is not always safe, it does not have the security and systems to monitor the network and access. Before any work is done on these devices the proper security needs to be in place such as firewalls, pop up blockers, and private network connections. However, there are both advantages and disadvantages to the use of wireless networking and what is will be like in the future. To start, a wireless network or Wi Fi is a technology that allows electronic devices to exchange data or connect to the Internet through wireless communications using 2.4 GHz signals or 5 GHz signals. Wi Fi is also used to synonymously to indicate a wireless local area network (WLAN) based on the IEEE 802.11 protocol (Ghosh, Sinha B, K, 2016, p. 4). Mobile networking and Wi Fi are key factors in society. Wi Fi was invented and first released in 1997. Becki Wood wrote an article titled History of WiFi in the article she says WiFi has played an integral role in keeping us connected at home and in public. We ve come to expect a standard degree of connectivity wherever we go, and regularly rely on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. The Basics Of Canada s Mixed Economic System Most countries around the world, including Canada, rely on a mixed market economy system in which the allocation of most resources, goods and services is determined by supply and demand through markets and prices. This system has many flaws, including environmental damage, high income inequality both within and between countries, resource depletion and so on. When I think of alternative economic system, I have to go back to the basics of mixed economic system, what actually is and what it does. In every kind of society we have to consider two things; how it produces goods and services and how these goods and services are distributed.one of the flaws of is that it tends to learn more on the governmental control than the freedom of individuals. Sometimes, government regulations may cost company so much that it put it out of market hence paralyzing production features (Tsuruta, 1997). This encourages social democratic programs which retain capitalist s mode of production. The program also retain fundamental issues of capitalism such as cynical fluctuations, exploitation and alienation. Another government negative is that it decides the amount of tax on products which may lead to hike of the prices of such products hence people unwillingness to buy. Lack of price control management can cause deficiencies in goods hence bringing market imbalance. Social democracy is mostly flawed for maintaining a property owning capitalist class which actively reverse social democratic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everyone who was able to harness the power of positive thought was able to bring new and innovative inventions to mankind because they didn t allow failures and negative experiences shape the way they viewed the toils of their work. In other words, people were able to see the glass as half full rather than half empty which brought about positive outcomes because they were able to see through all the negative aspects of their work or life. Importance of Possessing a Positive Intelligence As we ve seen from the definition of positive intelligence, it seems as though the importance of mastering the concepts are self evident. We all want to perform at our best in whatever task we take on providing the greatest possible product or resource for our employer. We ve all worked with someone who has constantly portrayed a negative attitude and it never contributed to a highly effective workplace. John Maxwell is a motivational speaker and leadership expert has made a living off of getting people to think more positively through their daily tasks to produce high level results. In his Daily Reader book he provides an example of what positive thought and positive expectations can provide a person. He says that if a person gives themselves just 30 days of expecting the best of everything they will often receive the positive outcomes they perceive. He says a person will get out of their life everything they expect from it, god or bad (Maxwell, 2007). The power of positive intelligence can be profound on a personal and professional level and its importance should not be discredited. According to the essay The Media in the Movies zombies make their interactions primarily through pop culture and media. Media is becoming the way of life around most of the world. Nearly everything is now digital and accessible via an electronic device. This electronic domination can go both ways for zombies as their initial appeal method of movies may take a hit because less people are heading to movie theaters and are watching movies and television shows via streaming websites such as Netflix. According to MPPA.org there has been a steep decline of about five percent in movie theater attendance. This can potentially hurt the zombie appeal because movies are a huge display point for zombies and having a decline in movie theater attendance mean less people are watching the zombie brand. On the flip side, it is beginning to look like zombies are no longer relying on items such as movies but instead focus on television shows in hopes of expanding the brand. Numerous zombie incorporated television shows such as The Walking Dead have rapidly gained popularity as these shows are becoming much watch TV for many people. In the midst of all this it seems as zombies aren t being hurt but rather changing. Which is similar to the lower class as it will continue to evolve as well. Canada did not enter the war of its own accord but was automatically at war when Britain declared war against Germany. The Canadian Corps and CEF were created to defend Canada, and fought not only in the war but for the recognition that Canada deserved, to then show that in the Great War we achieved something great, and finally to piece together to how Canada is now, to build through the years and show that this was truly Canada s greatest achievement. While Tupac was loved by many, he was appalled by twice as many. Even the Vice President, Dan Quayle, called for his first album, 2pacalyse to be banned. Quayle insisted on this after a Texas teenager announced in court that it had inspired him to murder a state trooper (Tupac). Tupac always liked to resemble a tough thug life lifestyle, how could he not, that s what made him a sellout. In the dangerous streets of California, you couldn t survive riding around in the streets by yourself, so Tupac ran with the bloods gang, or M.O.B. (Chambers and Solotaroff). Which stood for Member of Bloods but when it came to the business side of the spectrum, Death Row Records, they claimed it to mean ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. The Benefits Of Scope Economies One study of 36 large IDNs that contained hospitals, physicians, and health plans found that the more providers invested in their IDNs, the lower their operating margins. Moreover, as hospitals diversified into these different businesses, the larger was the negative impact on their financial position (e.g., higher debt to capitalization ratio). (Burns, Gimm, and Nicholson, 2005 pg 21). A more recent study has found that integration of health plans with providers (hospitals or physician groups) to serve the Medicare Advantage population is associated with higher plan premiums (Frakt, Pizer, and Feldman, 2013 p 21). Diversification is defined as the expansion of the firm across product, geographic, and customer markets. Firms have traditionally relied on this strategy for one of three major goals: growth, risk reduction, and profitability. Commonly sough benefits include scope economies (via shared resources and capabilities across businesses), economies from internalized transactions, and improved access to market information (Grant, 2010). The benefits of scope economies are often referred to as synergies. Other rationales include the firm s efforts to escape an increasingly unattractive market and to make effective use of surplus cash flows by investing them in more attractive products or services. (Pg 22). Research has shown that by diversifying, businesses can decrease its financial losses which is identified by its higher debt to capitalization ratio. There is no solid ... Over the past semester, I have had the pleasure of volunteering my services to Bilal Oromo Dawa Center in Fridley, Minnesota as a tutor and person of influence to children ages 6 18. Bilal Oromo Dawa Center s (BODC) mission statement is as follows: Bilal Oromo Dawa Center is a charitable, religious, social, cultural, educational nonprofit organization dedicated to serve the Muslim community. As I have come to find out, BODC is a community center that offers many different services for all its community members. The services range from tutoring services, weekend school for Islamic studies, funeral services, Friday congregational prayers, family and marriage counseling, youth sports, and general community services. BODC is a relatively new organization; however, they stem from Tawfiq Islamic Center in North Minneapolis. Tawfiq Islamic Center (TIC) has been open to the community since 2004 and is still open. TIC and BODC share a similar community member base and actively cooperate to better the community. I have been aware of TIC since it was opened on inaugural day and practically grew up in that facility as I attended practically every event they have set up. I attended weekend school during my adolescence, and I eventually became a teacher s assistant for the program. It would be an understatement to say that I always felt indebted to the community for playing a large role in my childhood. The second stage is storage. The brain uses that recordable information and stores it to be used later. The final stage is retrieval. The brain the recovers that recordable information that was stored to use at a later date. There are three types of memory: sensory, short term and long term. First, a split second memory of sight, sound and other senses is sensory memory. Driving down the highway, I heard a car speeding towards me. The car nearly side swiped me. I smelled the burnt rubber as it swerved to miss me. I tried to quickly look at the license plate, but the car was driving fast. I caught a first glimpse of the plate, but could not remember it. This is an example of sensory memory. Information that is not retained is forgotten. The information that is retained is then stored in our short term memory. Second, short term memory remains in the brain for a short period of time, maybe 25 seconds unless it is reiterated over and over again to be preserved longer in the ... • 24. Loss In Frankenstein Research Paper The concept of loss is a natural part of human existence. It plagues humanity with its non prejudiced hand. Cruel, it can be defined, but necessary nonetheless. How can one deal with such damaging circumstances? Many seek respite from this inevitable evil through the raw expression of the human soul onto paper, a novel. These thought invoking expressions have long demonstrated human kind s ability, or lack there of, to deal with loss. From Edgar Allen Poe s The Raven, to Henry Wadsworth Longfellow s The Cross of Snow, loss is a topic humans can relate to on the deepest level, as it is something that we all must face. To be an individual, there must be a unique sense of one s self to feel complete. Without this sense of one s self, the mind takes a dangerous path and finds negative things to evoke the desired feeling of completeness. When this sense of one s self is altered, it brings disdain and guilt to the individual. This disdain and guilt are evinced in the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, as well as Frankenstein. Frankenstein s monster (The Creature) was an intelligent being that could think on his own, and developed feelings and thought processes. He happened upon a family in a cottage, and their kindness and love toward one another created the yearning of this for himself. Because of the abnormality of his appearance, he is rejected harshly by the cottagers, losing his sense of self from a person that deserves love, to that to a wretch, doomed forever to suffer at the rejection of man kind. In the Rime of the Ancient Mariner the loss of self identity is presented as the hanging of the albatross corpse around the Ancient Mariner s neck, giving allusion to a cross to be carried, that represents the guilt of his actions: Instead of the cross, the albatross/ About my neck was hung . • 25. Do Not Go Gentle Into That Night By Dylan Thomas In 1957 Dylan Thomas published a poem called Do Not Go Gentle into That Night. While reading the poem towards the end you find out that this poem was not only about the inevitable death that one faces at the end of life, but also that this poem was for his dying father. In this poem Thomas uses a form of poetry called villanelle to intertwine many themes, as well as, symbolism and imagery to draw the reader into a sensory experience. Villanelle is a very structured form of poetry that was originated in the french language before it was introduced to the english language. It consists of nineteen lines of poetry and it is divided into six stanzas, it is composed of five three lined stanzas and one four lined stanza. Villanelles also have a very specific rhyme pattern The first and third lines of the first tercet rhyme with each other, and this rhyme is repeated through each of the next four tercets and in the last two lines of the concluding quatrain, this could also be called a refrain (Glossary A13). Dylan follows the scheme very well using the rhyme aba aba aba aba aba abaa. While Dylan follows the poetry form to a T he also is able to incorporate many themes into his poem. One of which, being a very obvious one already stated, mortality. Even though death is inevitable, Dylan suggest that people should fight against the odds to redeem themselves, Rage, rage against the dying of the light (Thomas 3). While Narrative Identity is identified as is the study of the distinctive nature of narrative and its various structures, elements, uses, and effects. (Course Notes). Frederick Douglas, Zora Neale Hurston, and Langston Hughes are all African American descendants who have personally experienced inequality in American and has chosen to express their experiences in American Literature. Even though these authors have shared experiencing inequality, they are all different because of the time in which their experienced occurred. Frederick Douglas a former slave later to remembered as a hero, wrote a book about his life called The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglas. This is important to me because it is not enough to simply teach someone how to do things, but to reevaluate that they can do it themselves. This is what my nursing education has taught me with planning, implementing, reevaluation and finally discharge of patients. • 31. Informative Speech On Content Implementation Plan Essay Content Implementation Plan I am appreciative for the valuable information I obtained from this course. I intend to incorporate the researched practices into my reading program. Allington addressed several critical components of instruction necessary to ensure reading interventions are delivered with the best intentions and students are responding successfully to the reading interventions. However, my aha moments included the topics: the volume of reading, matching students independent and instructional reading levels to appropriate texts, expert interventionist, matching intervention to the classroom curriculum, and group size. Volume of Reading I agree with Allington, the volume of reading is a critical component which supports the quantity of extensive reading, required to ensure struggling readers accuracy and fluency rates accelerate to develop proficient readers. Often the reading interventions focus on specific reading skills such as phonics, word recognition, fluency (speed), and etc. The research suggests the intervention time be dedicated to continuous reading versus using the majority of the time working on individual skills. Allington provided me the critical awareness and the importance of the quantity of extensive reading. I definitely will redesign my intervention time to reflect the suggested amount of time to focus on individual reading skills and extensive reading, as Allington suggested. Therefore, I look forward to incorporating extensive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Theogony And The Biblical Book Of Genesis, Hesiod And Genesis At first glance, the story of how it all began in Hesiod s Theogony, and in the Biblical book of Genesis reveals certain similarities that I picked up on. Hesiod and Genesis share the same order of events: mankind exists in alongside heavenly beings in utopia where there is just; a woman is introduced into this utopian world; the actions of the woman produces the loss of before said utopia. This pattern is used by both works of literature to better explain the presence of problems such as chaos and turmoil in human existence, and both Hesiod and Genesis credit the first woman with these problems. In a journal article Published by The Johns Hopkins University Press, the author declares that It is especially striking that the biblical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Genesis 3.16) But despite these similarities, Eve and Pandora are characteristically different. Unlike Pandora, Eve is not naturally evil. She was created from one of Adams ribs, making Eve of the same material and nature as her husband. Pandora, conversely, is basically different from man. I figured this because Hesiod does not give a significant story of how man came to be in these sections, but Pandora s attributes from the gods, including both her beauty and her deceitfulness, marks her as a separate individual. However, Eve is meant to be a companion for Adam, to say that Pandora was a gift is plainly ironic. This inconsistency is at the difference between the women. Pandora is a punishment for man. Theogony exposes this, by calling her evil for man or through the instance with the jar, which is an indicator of her deceitful nature. Neither work specifies if Pandora actually undergoes suffering alongside man. Eve, however, is a victim of her actions as much as Adam is, and these two suffer together, if not wholly in the same way. Despite their inherent differences, I do believe they are similar in how they are portrayed as the less significant sex. Despite Eve being created from Adam, she was not created of an entirely new framework such as Adam, as if she was not important enough to do so. Both Pandora and Eve were created secondly both ...
