Plano Social Environment
In the city of Plano in Texas, hydrogen sulfide has been released by the inadequate sewer lines
causing terrible smells throughout the city. The constant release of the smell can lead to serious
health problems for the citizens. This article relates to Week 3 Lecture about Physical and
Social Environment, which describes the terrible smell, which is hydrogen sulfide has an indoor
and outdoor pollutant. As an indoor pollutant, the smell enters people s homes through their
toilets. As an outdoor pollutant, sewers lines were poorly designed leading to the release of
hydrogen sulfide. Hydrogen sulfide as an indoor and outdoor pollutant is detrimental to people s
health because people are exposed to the gas by breathing in the air from all areas. The article
relates to the community level of the ecological model. In the article, the city installed carbon air
filters and sealed the manhole covers as they continue to monitor the levels of sulfide in the air.
This shows that the Plano officials are concerned about the effects of the hydrogen sulfide and the
long term effects it could have on people. The air can cause serious respiratory problems such as

Summary Of The Short Story OfThe Father And Lamp At Noon
Throughout years within society, people have grown accustomed to latching on to others
characteristics and gradually learning from them. Regardless of the situation, people will naturally
gravitate toward those with traits they favor and try to recognize their own values that bring them
down. In the short stories of The Father , by Hugh Garner, and Lamp At Noon , by Sinclair Ross,
both authors clearly exemplify how one person can be influenced by another, while then creating a
better understandingof their own faults and amending themselves from those negative traits. While
among those close to them, people tend to become influenced by those same people and slowly
gain a better understanding of their traits and motivations. Consider the short story, Lamp At Noon ,
by Sinclair Ross. Paul, who had faith, dreams, and plans all invested into his farm is confronted
by his wife and her aspirations for the family. After an argument with her over whether they
should stay in the dust ridden farm or start a new in the city, Paul finally comes to an
understanding that, She looked forward to no future. She had no faith or dream in which to
make the dust and poverty less real. He understood suddenly (Ross 8). From this context, the
reader is able to visualize how Ellen s words have reached Paul, and how he is able to bypass his
wants and understand hers. Another short story that illustrates this same idea is The Father by
Hugh Garner. The character of John Purcell profoundly makes a fool of himself and his son
without even realizing the damage of his actions, and as a result, he see s that his, boy was
sobbing silently, his thin shoulders shuddering beneath his blazer. Suddenly he (John Purcell) was
ashamed by the enormity of his act, and had to prevent himself from taking his son on his knee
and comforting him as he had done when the boy was younger (Garner 75). Due to the influences
of his son s attitude toward the situation, John comes to his senses on the scene he has created and
is able to understand his son s embarrassment and shame that he s brought upon him. The short
stories The Father by Hugh Garner and Lamp At Noon by Sinclair Ross portray how one person
can not only be influenced by

The Importance Of Stakeholders In The Classroom Environment
Bron and Veugelers (2014) elucidate a classroom environment encompasses a vast and diverse
student body that should be reflected in the utilized curriculum which will continually adapt to the
ever changing elements and culture surrounding it. Important to realize, is that there is a very
considerable group of stakeholders responsible for the advocacy of the curriculum map, those who
are composed of neighborhood residents, youth involved in the justice system, unemployed,
regulation enforcement agencies, contractors and developers, employers, ordinary community
members, and government officials (Rabinowitz, 2017). Accordingly, whether stakeholders are
directly or indirectly involved with the students, their input ensures successful outcomes in
achievement for those focuses within the learningarena. Stakeholders Purpose To explain, Hanover
Research (2016) affirms the stakeholder s role in curriculum mapping is vital, due to invested
interest of processes and results, as well as the ability to enhance the review s effectiveness and the
many persons who have an expertise through their individual knowledge and skills. This vested
interest is to help ensure that appropriateness is upheld in the reviews regarding questions, designs,
or methodology. Markedly, Bron and Veugelers (2014) state that by involving the students in the
curriculum process, their input will assist and aid in reducing the gap between how student live and
learn, and bring more relevance to the learning

The Underrepresentation Of Women In Film
Women are often underrepresented in many fields and occupations in today s day in age,
whether it be STEM careers, big business CEOs, or in the case of this paper, film directors.
Often the females that are present and well known, still face a large amount of discrimination.
Male directors make more than 90 percent of films, reinforcing the anonymity of women in the
film industry. In 2015, women only accounted for seven percent of the directors of big
Hollywood movies. In Brent Lang s article, Number of Female Directors Falls Over 17 Year
Period, Study Finds , he discusses a study that found that women are best represented as producers
(23%) followed by executive producers (19%), editors (18%), writers (11%), cinematographers
(5%), sounds... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Virgin Suicides, we see the Lisbon sisters lounging around their bedroom. In Lost in
Translation, we see many scenes of Scarlett Johansson s character Charlotte lying in bed, pacing
back and forth in her hotel room, and wandering around the streets of Tokyo. In Marie
Antoinette, Marie becomes so bored with her husband and life at Versailles that she starts
becoming obsessed with consuming a variety of material items. In her book, And the Mirror
Cracked: Feminist Cinema and Film Theory, Anneke Smelik says that, the historical context of
feminism allows both the position of the female filmmaker and that of the female spectator to
become enacted and empowered as conscious and self reflexive subject positions (1). Coppola s
powerful position of female filmmaker lets her explore femininity and asks her audience to
identify with the gaze of the powerless woman (44). Girls are often understood to be symbols of
mass consumption/passive consumerism, and you can t help but wonder if Coppola is just trying
to cash in on a niche market trying to enact an empower the female

Contrast of Jamaica Kincaid s Girl and John Updike s A P A P and Girl both symbolized the
protagonists oppression by an older, more experienced generation. However, Kincaid s Girl was
artistic with an undercurrent of selfless love and hope while Updike s A P was uninspiring with
selfishness and lust. The protagonist of Girl discouraged her daughter s dreams out of love. The
protagonist of A P encouraged the antagonists out of a selfish desire for self promotion. The short

including a reference of one girl being overweight with a large, but attractive rear end (Updike

affection and his roving eyes. There was nothing between the top of the suit and the top of her

he loudly announces his intentions to quit his job, the narrator is upset that the girls don t seem

A Comparison Of The Pantheon And The Parthenon
Introduction
With just a quick glance at pictures taken from a distance of the front of the Pantheon and the
Parthenon, one might conclude that they are the same building or the same design. Both have eight
Greek inspired columns topped with metopes and a triangular pediment at the entry portico (front).
However, any other view and a closer look would reveal substantial differences. Even the condition
of the present buildings would indicate that the buildings are from very different times and, of
course, very different locations.
The Parthenon
The Parthenon is a Greek temple constructed in 447 BC. It was designed by the architect/artist
Phidias and commissioned by Perikles after the Peliponnesian War to worship the Greek goddess,
Athena. Reed (2005) The building is a classical Greek structure in the Doric order known as a
peripteral
THE PANTHEON AND THE PARTHENON 2 octastyle Doric temple with Ionic columns.
Wikipedia (2017a) The octastyle designation refers to the eight columns at each end of the
structure. The building ends also have a second row of six columns at the interior of the outer
columns. The interior is divided into two rooms by masonry walls with interior columns in each
room. The building was and is famous for its ornate sculpture on the surface of the temple along the
frieze and pediments as well as sculptures on the interior of the building, namely the
chryselephantine statue of Athena sculpted by Phidias. The building is also said to have been built in

Mr. Keating Carpe Diem In Death Poet s Society
Most men live lives of quiet desperation describes the boys at the start of the movie Death Poets
Society. However, Mr. Keating s saying, Carpe Diem, influenced the path the boys took
throughout the movie. Most of the boys took this advice to heart, leading them to change, while
others decided to ignore the teachings. Throughout the movie, Todd gather courage which
helped him change from a shy antisocial boy to an open and expressive one. This is evident
through the fact that Todd revealed the truth to Mr. Keating in front of authority that could get
him expelled. This implies that Todd grew to believe that Mr. Keating was a friend that he could
open up to. Otherwise, he would have never revealed what happened when he was signing the
paper. Also, earlier in the movies, Mr. Keating forced Todd to recite a beautiful poem he
composed himself. This shows Todd that his words do matter to the people around him, and that
he does not have to hide them. It also foreshadows that he is bound to change later in the movie.
Mr. Keating s advice was able to push Todd to become more open and expressive. Neil gradually
became more rebellious and lost confidence due to influences from his father and Mr. Keating. At
the end of the movie, Neil was unable to tell his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

reports that that Intel was paying Dell large sums of money so that they would force customers not

Big Data And Business Innovation
Introduction In this modern age of constant technological advancement and business innovation, a
relatively new feature has unlocked more potential for businesses to improve: Big Data. Big Data
can be defined in many different ways. It has become important primarily for business decision
making.
One aspect of business that Big Data is now affecting is the auditing profession. Many
opportunities exist for Big Data to improve the standard auditing procedure. However, certain
challenges may prevent it from assisting in its full potential. In addition to challenges in the
auditing profession, Big Data also has its own ethical implications. In this report, all of these facets
of Big Data will be discussed in detail.
Definitions Big Data refers to the large amounts of data that businesses deal with on a day to
day basis. Big Data can be defined in many ways, but this is one of the most general definitions.
One of the primary uses businesses have for Big Data is to provide assistance for decision
making. In order for Big Data to be effective, organizations must utilize the data to their advantage.
The quality of information is what matters, not the quantity. Organizations may have virtually
unlimited amounts of data to work with, but they must locate the helpful portions of data in order
for it to be effective and serve its purpose. In addition, some data may not be helpful at the present
moment in time, but will be needed for analysis in the future ( What Is Big Data? ,

The Theory Of The Drive Theory
Drive Theory The Drive theory was so named by Freud because of its emphasis on libidinal and
aggressive drives, which Freud considers to be the two principal motivating forces of human
behavior, and which barks for attention and expression. A child at birth is in a state of primary
narcissism, and it clamors to have its needs met irrespective of the comforts of others. The
erogenous zones (mouth, anus and genitals) are the avenues through which the energies are
directed, and by stimulating these areas, the child finds pleasure. If energies are not adequately
released, anxiety results, but as the child develops, it learns to regulate such forces for its ultimate
good and that of others. Freud believes that three components of... Show more content on

If human beings functioned solely from the Id s control center, there would be absolute chaos,
since people will do whatever they wish, whenever they wish, and wherever they wish, irrespective
of consequences. The Ego lives in both the conscious and the unconscious mind, and it represent
the I of the individual. The Ego functions like a good citizen, and acts as an intermediary between
the Id, the superego, and the external environment, to procure socially acceptable behavior. The ego
coordinates volition, and its main business is to protect self. It also regulates and suppresses the
inordinate promptings of the Id through reasoning and compromises, and is capable of delaying
gratification for the future. As maturation ensues, the ego expands, while the id shrinks, except in
special cases where the individual is fixated at the infantile level. Conditioned on the examination
that people with strong egos often have weak ids and superegos, Freud concludes that the relative
distribution of energy among these forces affects personality directly. Top of Form Bottom of Form
The superego is the conscience that grows out of parental prohibitions, and it represents the moral
component of the personality. Through the diminution of early narcissism, when the child begins to
acknowledge its limits, the superego imposes itself as a kind of watchdog over the ego, making

Trichotillomania Onset Pregnancy
Introduction:
Trichotillomania is characterized by recurrent episodes of hair pulling behavior leading to
noticeable loss of hair, increasing tension before hair pulling or while coping with the urge to pull
out hair, taking pleasure or a sense of relief while pulling out hair, and social, occupational, and
functional impairment1.
Trichotillomania can involve any area in the body; however, the most common areas are the scalp,
followed by the eyebrows and eyelashes in children and in adults2. The seriousness of the pulling
behavior is perceived over time, and the disease exhibits a chronic course and it is resistant to
therapy3. It has been reported that patients with trichotillomania often did not feel pain while
pulling out hair, followed a particular pattern of hair pulling, and often chose strands with unusual
appearance, and exhibit repetitive behavior such as engaging oral stimulation after hair pulling4 5.
Some studies have suggested that trichotillomania had many common features with obsessive
compulsive disorder4 5.Here we discuss a patient with trichotillomania onset pregnanacy case.
Case :
KD is a 19 years old female, married, secondary school graduate who is currently unemployed. The
patient was admitted to the juvenile outpatient clinic accompanied by her parents with the

COSHH Regulations 1999
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations2002 is the regulation that

correctly in the care home.
Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005
The Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005 forbids the mixing of different types of hazardous waste
(medication, needles and gloves), and the mixing of hazardous waste with non hazardous waste in
health care settings. This means that health care settings will need at least two containers, one for
hazardous waste and one for Non hazardous. It s classed an offence if health care settings don t

grief consume ones life the effects can be catastrophic. The thirteenth President of the United States,
Calvin Coolidge, suffered from the trauma of death, and this trauma led to his reputation as the least
effective and successful presidents the country has ever seen. A variety of statements, polls,
historian accounts, and political scientists all state the lack of imagination and idealism during
Coolidge s presidency (19). Childhood development, political success, and death affected Coolidge
s life and presidency. Born on July 4th, 1872 in Plymouth Notch, Vermont(20), Calvin Coolidgewas

He was known to have multiple meetings a week with the press and ask advice from
accomplished politicians. Coolidge dealt smoothly with Congress and international relations.
His time as president seemed to be going very well, and with the approval of the Republican
Congress and the American people. Time changed for the worse as his son was put in serious
condition after his infected toe spread to his blood, and four days after his father s birthday
Calvin Jr. died. Coolidge s devastation after his youngest son s death is something he would never
recover from. The hard working, respected politician soon fell into a deep depression. The trauma
of death brought out each horrid experience from his past. The death of his mother, sister,
stepmother, and now son finally drove him to his breaking point. Coolidge lost all interest in his
work. He started sleeping twelve hour days, not attending meetings, and lost contact with Congress.
With the Republican Party in control of both houses, times should have been ever so easy for the
Republican Party. However, Coolidge offered no influence, no reforms, no changes, and did not
help in disputes. He withdrew completely from all responsibilities, and let his guilt and grief sink

Persuasive Essay On The Good Life
The Good Life What is the good life? my friend asked me in a feeble attempt to produce ideas for
his Philosophy paper. Aside from the obvious answer of using material items to generate
happiness, the question drove me consider what made someone s life inherently good. A few
days after our conversation, I read Open Door by Rebecca Solnit. This passage helped me to
eventually answer his question. Throughout Open Door, Solnit defines, exemplifies and reasons,
and explores the ideas of losing one s self in order to achieve the good life. Understanding what it
means to lose one s self is imperative in order to comprehend the rest of this passage. The idea of
losing yourself is, a voluptuous surrender, lost in your arms, lost to the world, utterly immersed in
what is present so that its surroundings fade away (Solnit 16). Taking part in losing yourself will
allow you to find answers to what is unknown to you. The journey to the unknown and the
unknown itself are transformative; however, many individuals do not care for the unknown or are
unaware of it. Those who do not care for the unknown typically fear for what it will bring. In today
s society, adults restrict their children to playing indoors rather than developing an adventurous and
imaginative persona outside of the house, for they believe their children will hurt themselves. Solnit
expresses her concern for this generation by wondering what will come of placing this generation
under house arrest (Solnit 7). She

Rearing Strategies
When studying parental techniques one will find one large gray area. Although rearing strategies
are not the solely responsible for altered behavior, psychologists know that the way a child is
brought up has a deep and indelible impact on that child s life. During formative years the brain is
exceedingly sensitive to outside stimulus and alteration can occur at the drop of a hat. The mantle
of parenthood is not to be taken lightly as ineffective methodology can contribute significantly to a
child s behavioral outcome. Children often exhibit signs of having incompetent parents by acting
out and misbehaving in a public setting. Whether it be school, church, or any other common
environment, children who have been raised in a negative manner... Show more content on

Sufficient evidence, including findings reported by the state of Michigan s Department of
Education, supports the idea that parental involvement in a child s education vastly improves
academic achievement (Mokeyane). In a neglectful environment a child spends a majority of
their time alone making it hard for them to undergo learning experiences and engage their brain
in such a way that triggers thinking and progress. The social aspect can make it difficult for the
child to formulate relationships with classmates and teachers (Richards Gustafson). Damaged
social skills can negatively impact nearly every aspect of an adolescent s life as they move to the
future making it difficult to obtain help from teachers, meeting a significant other, and even
getting a job. The impact parents have on their children goes further than face value. Issues such
as misbehaving and delinquency can be caused by impudent parents. If one is not ready to rear a
child they not only risk their own mental health but also leave the success and livelihood of their

The Language Of A Programing Language
A Programing language is a formal language that is designed to communicate information to
machine. By using programing languages we will write code to control the machine and for the
computation. The programing languages are preceded by the invention of computer. The first
computer programing language was written in 1950 s. The first high level programing
language Short Code was proposed by John Mauchly s in 1949 for an electronic computer.
Generally the artificial language can been split into syntax (form) and semantics (meaning).
During that period the computer hardware was very cheap and advanced which requires a good
programing tool to develop a computer application software for the system. C was developed by
Dennis Ritchie in 1972. C was the most popular programming languages at that period. As time
goes on programmers found that it was difficult with structure syntax and they developed a new
philosophy language called as OOP. The main concept in OOP was reuse of code. By including
all the features and fundamentals of OOP, the new programing language was named as C++
which was developed by Bjarne Stroustrup in 1979. In OOP, problem is made into small units
known as objects. Class is the basic unit of code which helps in creating the run time objects.
OOP uses bottom up approach. The design of OOP is the chain of responsibility i.e the pattern
consists of a source command objects and a series of processing objects. The basic features of OOP
are 1. Object. 2. Class. 3.

Who Is Charles Sanders Pierce s The Fixation Of Belief
This essay will explain the title The Fixation of Belief, by Charles Sanders Pierce. He argues that
the method of science is superior to all other methods, due to its ability to establish what is true and
what is not true in an objective manner. He argues that since experience of the method has not led
us to doubt it, the method of sciencewill necessarily lead us to one true conclusion.
Peirce regarded logic as an instrument for drawing conclusions from premises. Unlike
contemporary logicians, Peirce included in his conception of logic what we would now call
epistemological concerns. In particular, he examined the origins of the premises of logical
arguments. In his view, progress has been made in securing better starting points for our reasoning.
In Peirce s view, the development of scientific method was largely a development of our ... Show

Logic studies movements in thought. Also, logic presupposes that there is a transition from a
state of unbelief to a state of belief. The relevant state of unbelief is one of doubt, which is active
consideration of the truth of a matter without commitment as to whether it is true or false. No
other state of belief would motivate the use of inference. We would like to be able to identify the
principles that are implied by the very idea of the passage from doubt to belief. These would be the
most essential principles of logic.
Doubts that we have, which give rise to inferences, are manifested through the asking of
questions. On the other hand, when we make a pronouncement, we are expressing a belief. Doubt
and belief give rise to very different feelings. Doubt is something we try to avoid, because it
makes us uneasy and restless. Belief, on the other hand, gives rise to satisfaction. We therefore
cling tenaciously to them. This is important because it is beliefs alone that guide our desires and
shape our actions. Doubt renders us indecisive and

The Machine Time Span
However, in each case, it is assumed that the machine time is known as soon as it occurs. This
machine has a direct consequence on the number of operation that is fixed and indirectly reflects
on the total number of operation present in the potential re scheduling. Instances of the job shop
problem (10x10, 8x15, 5x10, 10x 15, 5x15, 5x20, 6x24, 10x20,) are considered. Two machines can
influence the decision variables. Several cases with different values of this parameter are studied.
The different simulations tested in this research consider various times of these three machines.
From the above two method the obtained sequence times are less than the observation time span.
Both method has reduce the time span of job shop but Gupta s heuristicrule has reduce maximum

the time span of the scheduling method deteriorates the increasing production rates. Each
optimizationproblem must have an objective function which has to be either minimized or
maximized in order to get a solution. Here each job has a no operations and each operation has a

each machine gets one particular make time. Out of all the machines the machines which have the

The Importance Of Uplink Over Utilization Protection
Uplink over utilization protection It s important to establish thresholds when looking at both short
and long term utilization and growth of the network infrastructure. Doing so eliminates guesswork
and provides a clear understanding of when additional resources should be required. Specifically
speaking, a threshold is normally based on percentage of usage (in comparison to the maximum
available bandwidth). Example; 50% of 100 Mbps translate to 50 Mbps of overall usage. When
establishing a percentage threshold, it s important to consider things like margin of safety and
historic growth rates . In the case of margin of safety , the threshold number should be high enough
to alert that more bandwidth will be needed, but low enough to... Show more content on

One other thing to note regarding bandwidth, the difference between 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps is
capacity, not speed of operation. A 100 Mbps Ethernetconnection is capable of passing 100
megabits of data in a one second period. In comparison a 1 Gbps is capable of passing 1 gigabit of
data in a one second period. The actual speed of the data is the same, it s just capable of passing
more data in a one second period. (Think of 100 Mbps connection as a single lane road with a 1
Gbps connection as a multi lane highway with the speed limit of both roads being 55 Mph). In
this example more cars can travel on the highway as compared to the single lane road, but are still
traveling at the same speed.

General bandwidth utilization guidelines
As a general rule of thumb, the chart below (see figure 1.1) shows a general guideline indicating
the peak percentages of utilization on a LAN or WAN, and what (if anything) needs to be
addressed depending on peak utilization. With regards to peaks, another factor needs to be
mentioned, and that s the frequency of peaks. The frequency of peaks defines how often the peaks
occur. This is an important point as the higher the frequency the sooner the potential need for more

You Say You Want A Resolution Analysis
A resolution is a firm decision to do or not to do something. In Heidi Pollock s essay, You Say
You Want a Resolution she describes the true meaning of a New Year s resolution. A lot of people
might pick only one resolution for New Year s. They might say they want to lose a certain amount
of weight or to stop drinking soda. According to Pollock though, that is not the correct way. In
Pollock s words , A true resolutionshould be an addition to your life, should expand your horizons
and help you grow as a person . Her view is that people should have three resolutions; one from
the Health Lifestyle category, another from the Education/Practice category, as well as one from
the Project/Task category. The reason for the three is to increase the odds in being successful in
fulfilling at least one of the resolutions. So my three New Year s resolutions for next year are
washingmy face every night before bed, reading a bookI would not normally read at least once a
month, and finally finding a job for myself. My first resolution will definitely be hard to achieve,
especially every night. The reason for this is because I like to stay up late till I become so tired
that I end up going to sleep before washing my face first. Another reason is that I usually come
home late and by that time I am so exhausted that I once again go straight to bed before washing
my face that is full of makeup. A way I can break this habit of going to sleep before washing my

Profit Margins Case Study
New employment agencies dealing with temp and contract workers face no shortage of challenges
regarding profit margins. You need to meet your overhead costs (office rent and supplies, admin,
compliance, etc.) and ensure that your team is securing target numbers for placements made.
The better you are at keeping your employment agency profit margins strong, the better the chances
you have at becoming an agency that can compete with the big staffing firms. But it s not as
simple as becoming more frugal with your expenses and setting aside large amounts of your
financing to account for concrete costs. Keeping profit margins generous is dependent on how well

Because of the above situations and more we advise that you consider payroll financing solutions.

Effects of High Fructose Corn Syrup Essay
Abstract:
This research essay will investigate the effects of High Fructose Corn Syrup. The liver is
effected because the fructose as it is being metabolized deposits fatty acids into the liver, it also
develops cirrhosis, which has the same effect normally seen in alcoholics. High Fructose Corn
Syrup increases cholesterol which blocks the inner walls of the arteries and may be fatal if not
treated. High Fructose Corn Syrup was believed to be beneficial to diabetics, but studies show the
they may actually promote more diseases. Obesity is a major problem, as High Fructose Corn

Elevated levels of triglycerides lead to an increased risk of heart disease (Jefferson, 1).
The liver also develops cirrhosis, a disease that is normally seen in alcoholics. A person who has
not had a alcoholic beverage in their life, but who eats a diet high in High Fructose Corn Syrup
ends up having a liver that is similar to that of an alcoholic (Piersal).
Heart disease is when something prohibits the heart from functioning properly. Damage to the
heart can develop from a failure in the coronary arteries or from a dysfunctional heart. High
Fructose Corn Syrup leads to an increase in the concentration of uric acid, a waste product
found in urine produced by the liver, and is believed to be a plausible symptom of heart disease
(Jefferson, 2). High Fructose Corn Syrup also increases the level of cholesterol, which builds up
in the inner walls of arteries while circulating through the blood stream. If the cholesterol blocks
the arterial walls, (especially then the walls are narrow) blood gets backed up and the heart does
not get enough oxygen. This problem may become fatal if left untreated for too long.
Fructose was considered to be beneficial to diabetics because it is absorbed only forty percent

A Pastor Of A Small Church

amazing people if given the chance to lead them. This will truly be a test of your faith as one

lifelong commitment to God, growth as a pastor, and cultural aware. Pastoring of any size church
comes with these types of challenges. Those spoken here and some not spoken about. As I cover
the different areas of preparation, keep in mind that these are just a few that must pastors follow.
You will not get far if you are not filled with the Holy Spirit and seeking grace and mercy daily.
A spiritual preparation is a must when pastoring. McCarty, D. (1997). Leading the small church,
says A call to preach is a call to prepare. He also says Spirituality is personal and not mechanical
and rote exercise. This spiritual preparation is an interaction with God and God alone. This not
something that is just done. It is important that time is spent praying to God and listening to what
he has for us. A pastor is not in the business of doing what he or she wants to do but what God
has for us to do as pastors. Devotion and meditation is essential to the growth of a pastor s spiritual

Outline Of Unresponsiveness
Considering the high mortality in the intensive care unit in hospitals compared to other units as
well as the high costs of inpatient treatment in these units, mortality prediction has long been a

Why Married American Men Commit Extramarital Affairs
Hypothesis
Because men are more likely to get involved in sexual relationships outside their marriage due to
many different factors, I ve formulated multiple hypotheses below:
A.Hypothesis 1 Marital dissatisfaction will be one primary reason for men to cheat on their wives.
B.Hypothesis 2 Being married to the same women for many years, can be another potential reason
why men commit extramarital affairs.
C.Hypothesis 3 Working long distance will be a slightly reason why married men are unfaithful.
My hypotheses are connected to the literature that I described above. This is because past
researchers in their articles tried to show some possible reasons that influenced men to be unfaithful
towards their wives. For this reason, due to past research I was able to create my own hypothesis
about why married American men commit extramarital affairs. This means American men get
involved in extramarital relationships as a result of many different factors that will influence them
to cheat on their wives.
Research Method
My research question is why married American men decide to engage in sexual acts outside of their
marriage? I will proceed collecting my primary data by conducting face to face interviews. My
research will be qualitative given that my main goal is to have a deep understanding of why
married American men have extramarital affairs. The data collection method that I will use is face
to face interviews. I think interviews are the best data collection method for my

In the Philosophy, Determinism has many different categories. Actually according to the textbook,
the Determinism is the view that every event, including human actions, are brought about by
previous events in accordance with the natural laws that govern the world. Human freedom is an

Human factors are involved wildly in human behaviors and various social systems, including
social laws and religion doctrines. Just like what I mentioned previously, scientists believe that the
human life is pre determined and human s behavior is inevitable. They consider that if someone
has all the information of one person, he or she may get to know how he or she is going to
change in advance. But from the point of view throughout the history of human society people
often turn to emphasize personal responsibility. Law and legal penalties for criminals act based
entirely on the idea of individual free will . Most Jewish and Christian also believed that individuals
should be responsible for the crime and suspects should be punished. We can imagine a psychology
professor who believes determinism would say to a student: You have to concentrate to your study,
otherwise you will get nothing! You can see the contradiction of human behaviors from this typical
and ironic statement above, and notice that there exists a deviation between theoretical knowledge
and actual human behaviors.
At the same time, the Libertarians believe that people have free will , and there are no such
inevitable results of those behaviors that are controlled by free will . Libertarianism has different
meanings in different academic fields. From the general level, the libertarianism refers to people s
ability to decide whether or not to do something according to their

Compare And Contrast The Valley Of Ashes In The Great Gatsby
Imagine a world where one side of the equator was filled with wealth, happiness, and content.
Now imagine the other side of the equator filled with poverty, sadness, and death. These two
completely opposing halves enhance each other s descriptions and make one think of each side
more deeply about the concept. This same scenario is also present in one of America s favorite
novels based upon the 1920s and the American dream. In F. Scott Fitzgeralds novel, The Great
Gatsby, Fitzgerald juxtaposes two contrasting places, the Valley of Ashes and New York City
, using
imagery to magnify the difference between reality and a fantasy, which is central to the meaning
of the work. The Valley of Ashes is halfway between West Egg of Long Island and New York
City. When one comes upon the Valley of Ashes, it is not what they see, but what they do not
see: sunshine, colors, or a settling feeling. The Valley of Ashes is nothing but a dull location,
filled with unsatisfied farmers, unsuccessful gardens, billowing smoke, and mounds of ashes
that are prominent below the gray skies. Nick Carraway, the narrator of The Great Gatsby,
describes the Valley of Ashes as ...a fantastic farm where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and
hills and grotesque gardens; where ashes take the forms of houses and chimneys and rising
smoke and, finally, with a transcendent effort, of men who move dimly and already crumbling
through the powdery air (Fitzgerald 23). Fitzgerald describes this location as unpleasant for

Racist Leaflet Analysis
The Racist Leaflet was distributed in Birmingham, a segregated neighborhood, by white
supremacists who were involved in the KKK and/or White Citizens Council. This defamatory act
against the protests of the Civil Rights Movement shows the fear white supremacists had of the
possibility of a desegregated Birmingham. It symbolizes efforts of white supremacists to protect
White America by denigrating the legitimacy of sit in demonstrations through the use of racist
depictions and caricatures to perpetuate negative beliefs about black people. The title, Rules for

Gun Weapons Of The United States
There is an estimated 300 million registered gun owners in the United States. With that many
Americans owning guns, its not a surprise nearly 68% of all homicides reported to the FBI
involved firearms. It s a good thing the forensics of firearms has advanced to a point that with just
a single round recovered, ballistic experts can tell investigators, what caliber round was fired what
type of weapon fired the round, and in some cases the distance at which the round was fired.
Without such advancement, more murderers would be walking free.
When arriving to a crime scene where weapons are present, safety is always top priority. Treat
every firearm as if it is loaded. When deciding to unload a weapon you always want to do so with
the utmost care, to preserve all types of evidence. This evidence includes fingerprints, blood,
hair or fibers, cylinder halos and debris in the barrel and /or cylinder.(www.crime scene
investigtor.net) Firearms should be unloaded and placed in a safe condition at the point of
collection. If the collector is unsure of the proper procedure, assistance should be sought from a
competent source such as a firearms instructor, departmental armorer, or an on site firearm
examiner. Always follow your department regulations. When unloaded revolvers prior to moving
the cylinder it should be marked to indicate its position as found. This can be done by two pen or

Argumentative Essay On Jayber Crow

Argumentative Essay
1 December 2017
Jayber Crow
Slowly, patiently, the observer becomes the participant; a cub hunting for its first meal. Have
you ever come across a friend like this? This friend often being reserved and standoffish then
turning into a pariah? Jonah Crow, an orphan at the age of ten grew up in the face of adversity
he knew the feelings of loneliness and want; seeing as his mother, father, aunt and uncle died
leaving him helpless at an orphanage in the town of Port William, Kentucky. This is a book about
Heaven, or the fact that Jayber could actually be living in a hell where the participants fail to love
one another, where they hate and destroy the objects and people they love, everything done is done

He was intermittent, always moving frantically from task to task, building his empire purely on
money, which entirely meant an empire built on his debt, which, again, means an empire built on
accountability which Troy was not. An agribusinessman is a person who works in or manages an
agricultural business. During the time Jayber Crow existed agriculture was all the rage. Family
farms made up 40% of the American workforce. Readers could see why family farming was so
important. So why would people want to bring in top gun machinery and ruin the land for future
crops? For money and growth of themselves, not for the farming industry because in the late
1900s farming dropped from 40% to a glum 4.6%. Agribusiness arrives and begins to slowly tear
apart small farms in Jayber Crow s world. Even in today s society big businesses tower in our
economy. It seems that agriculture is not given any thought when it comes to making a profit and
this tremendous defect in humans is another reason people can not live just to please and benefit
themselves.
People who live to help people and become saints of the land and vow to protect it are the people
who made the land last. Mattie Keith, Troy Chatham s wife is an example of giving with no
purpose to receive unlike big agribusiness men. Jayber several times throughout the novel
expresses his great love for Mattie but what strikes Jayber like a is the fear that he and Troy are the
same man

but his giant great swordand wearing, what appears to be, an insanely worn and battered set of
armor with his house sigil just barely visible on his chest.
The bout begins with Warryn and Sigorn moving to the middle of the field. Sigorn Karstark, yelling

of the distracted man, but Karstark turns and brushes away the sword of Warryn and quickly dents

downward. Warryn, having dropped his shield and now wielding his sword with only his left

How Does Henry Cabot Lodge Support The League Of Nations
The League of Nations is associated with the Treaty of Versailles which ended World War I when
it was signed at the Paris Peace conference in 1919. President Woodrow Wilson wanted to create an
organization of peaceful nations. Massachusetts Republican Senator Henry Cabot Lodge wrote the
speech given in August 1919 opposing Wilson s League of Nations. He believed that the only
country we owed a debt to was France.
Lodge felt that we provided help during the war against Germany in many ways. We sent over
American soldiers and provided billions in order to help with the war and we did not ask for
anything in return. Lodge felt that the Treaty allowed our European allies to make decisions that
could affect the strength of our country making us

Personal Narrative-Plowing Water
I was at the point of suffocation. The massive rubber soles overpowered my own feet, the
heavily insulated vest pressed my sides together, and I could have sworn it clenched me tighter
and tighter by the second. The mask compressed against my face, concealing my eyes and nose
from the air I desperately longed for. It forced me to breathe out of a compact tube, exposing the
claustrophobia I did not know I had. But before I even had time to think, I went plunging under.
The tepid salt water instantly enveloped me, and within seconds I floated back to the top. I was
mystified by what may be lurking beneath my legs, which were plowing back and forth to keep
me up straight. I immediately began to disregard the heavy gear I modeled so gauchely,... Show

was able to calm down after a few minutes and remained on the sunny, sandy beach, content with
being out of the water. Six years later, I continue to always detail my reasoning for why I have a
phobia of snorkeling. It is quoted everywhere that fear is not real, but the urchins had stood their

Zora Neale Hurston Sweat
The story Sweat by Zora Neale Hurston tells the story of Delia who overcame her abusive
husband, Sykes through her development of becoming a strong woman. The development of
Delia s character throughout the story relates to Zora Neale Hurston s life of growing up into a
strong, empowered woman. Delia and Zora were both verbally and physically abused which
made them afraid and timid. Zora made her characters talk in a dialect that she grew up listening
to which was uncommon to do in literature. Delia and Zora both had to provide for themselves by
putting in the effort remain stable and happy. They also stood up for what they believed in which
started their development into strong women. Delia had to let her husband die in order to gain
independence, while Zora had to move away from home in order to be successful in her future
which developed them both develop into independent women. They became stronger because of
these things which empowered them to take back control of their lives. The snakeis a symbol in the
story that represents the evil that was overcome by the good. This story can now be better
analyzed when looking at the life of Delia which connects to Zora Neale Hurstons life. Delia was
physically abused many times by her husband, Sykes. He was also mentally and verbally
abusive to her by calling her names and constantly teasing her. This can be seen when he
pretends to scare Delia with a snake, and then calls her names for being scared. In Zora s life,
this is seen where she also grew up as an abused child from her father. Her father did not like her
very much because her sassy attitude. He said that she was too spirited and too mouthy for her
own good which hurt her feelings and made her very aware that she was not his favorite child in
the family(Boyd 27). Her father would also physically abuse her by threatening and spanking her
as a child. In the story, Sykes represents Zora s father because they were both abusive towards
women. Zora included this detail in her story to explain her life as a child. The story is put in the
perspective of a grown woman who had been abused, but how she would feel the same pain a
child would feel who had been abused. No matter the person s age, anyone

Air Canada Aligned Business Strategy With Information...
Air Canada Aligned Business Strategy with Information Technology
In 2014, Air Canada achieved its best full year financial performance in the Corporation s 77
year history, said Calin Rovinescu, President and Chief Executive Officer. (Air Canada Website
CIO 2015) Adjusted net income was $531 million, representing an increase of 56.2 per cent year
over year. The purpose of this paper is to examine how Air Canada in 2011 successfully aligned
their business strategy and Information Technology (IT) by managing information resources on
several levels to accomplish a competitive advantage over other airline carriers and gain the
attention of their customers through innovation. Finally, this paper will address suggestions to
achieve better Business IT alignment to meet Air Canada s goals for the future and continued
success.
A significant step towards Air Canada s success was implementing a multiple vendor sourcing
strategy for IT. Utilizing their long time trusted partner, IBM, who was familiar with their
industry needs and company IT standards became the key liaison for expanding additional
technologies needed by other outside vendors. This newly expanded relationship between IBM
and Air Canada allowed for the airliner to concentrate on what they do best which is fly airplanes
and IBM to become an invested partner in the company s success towards innovation because they
were like an employee of Air Canada acting as their main IT sourcing vendor and consultant

Corporate Governance in Australia After Hih and Globalisation

Information asymmetry, moral hazard, difference in attitude towards risk and difference in interest
between shareholders versus directors are common agency problems that would usually be at the
expense of shareholders (Mallin, 2007; Rahman, Salim, 2010). For example, directors may have a
wider range of economic and social needs (such as to maximize compensation, security, status and to
boost their own reputation), while shareholders are interested only in maximizing return on
investments. Furthermore, as directors are usually contracted to the company on short term basis,
they may be eager for short run payoffs within their contract term, whereas shareholders interest
would be based on long term success. Australian companies have a unitary board structure and the
regulatory framework for corporate governance and directors duties is governed by (i) Statute
(notably the Corporations Act), (ii) Common law rules (for example, cases relating to directors
duties), (iii) The company s constitution, and (iv) Guidelines issued by the Australian Securities and
Investments Commission (ASIC) (Dibbs Barker Gosling Lawyers, 2003). ASIC plays a vital role in
enforcing and regulating company and financial services laws to protect Australian consumers,
investors and creditors. It acts as Australia s corporate regulator and administers various legislations
including the Corporations Act 2001, Australian

To My Dear And Loving Husband By Anne Bradstreet
In, To My Dear and Loving Husband, by Anne Bradstreet, we see that this poem is about a
woman that loves her husband. Love conquers all right? The overall tone of this work comes off
as love. Bradstreet shares many ways of her love with us and she wants us to know that her love is
going to be as strong when they are no more living on this earth. Anne Bradstreet expresses to the
audience her lovefor her husband in different tones. Throughout the poem, we see that Bradstreet
is comparing her love to water, and gold; but in the end is that enough? The tone of each excerpt
affects the whole message being given in, To My Dear and Loving Husband. Anne loves God, but
she also loves her husband. On line ten she says, The heavens reward thee manifold,... Show more

We see all of these throughout the poem. The passion is shown when she is comparing their
love to gold. I prize thy love more than whole mines of gold, or all the riches that the East doth
hold (226). She thinks her love for her husband is worth more then all of the rivers, creeks, lakes,
and gold in the whole world. Their love could not fill oceans. Also in, If ever two were one, then
surely we (226). She needs his love and she can not live without it. The writer thinks they could
be one. It is interesting that a Puritan would write such a love poem. Puritans are supposing to
have a relationship with God. I am surprised that she is writing something with so much emotion
in it. On line nine she states, Thy love is such I can no way repay (226). She means that the love
that her husband gives her is passionate and emotional, that there is no way that she could ever
repay him. She wants to share how great her and her husbands chemistry is and that is
endearing, because it is inspiring love. Another tone would be from Nor ought but love from thee,
give recompense, (226) she is adoring of her husband. The last two lines of this poem expresses her
endearing love. Then while we live, in love let s so persevere, that when we live no more, we may

  • 3. Plano Social Environment In the city of Plano in Texas, hydrogen sulfide has been released by the inadequate sewer lines causing terrible smells throughout the city. The constant release of the smell can lead to serious health problems for the citizens. This article relates to Week 3 Lecture about Physical and Social Environment, which describes the terrible smell, which is hydrogen sulfide has an indoor and outdoor pollutant. As an indoor pollutant, the smell enters people s homes through their toilets. As an outdoor pollutant, sewers lines were poorly designed leading to the release of hydrogen sulfide. • 4. Summary Of The Short Story OfThe Father And Lamp At Noon Throughout years within society, people have grown accustomed to latching on to others characteristics and gradually learning from them. Regardless of the situation, people will naturally gravitate toward those with traits they favor and try to recognize their own values that bring them down. In the short stories of The Father , by Hugh Garner, and Lamp At Noon , by Sinclair Ross, both authors clearly exemplify how one person can be influenced by another, while then creating a better understandingof their own faults and amending themselves from those negative traits. While among those close to them, people tend to become influenced by those same people and slowly gain a better understanding of their traits and motivations. Consider the short story, Lamp At Noon , by Sinclair Ross. Paul, who had faith, dreams, and plans all invested into his farm is confronted by his wife and her aspirations for the family. After an argument with her over whether they should stay in the dust ridden farm or start a new in the city, Paul finally comes to an understanding that, She looked forward to no future. She had no faith or dream in which to make the dust and poverty less real. He understood suddenly (Ross 8). From this context, the reader is able to visualize how Ellen s words have reached Paul, and how he is able to bypass his wants and understand hers. Another short story that illustrates this same idea is The Father by Hugh Garner. The character of John Purcell profoundly makes a fool of himself and his son without even realizing the damage of his actions, and as a result, he see s that his, boy was sobbing silently, his thin shoulders shuddering beneath his blazer. Suddenly he (John Purcell) was ashamed by the enormity of his act, and had to prevent himself from taking his son on his knee and comforting him as he had done when the boy was younger (Garner 75). Due to the influences of his son s attitude toward the situation, John comes to his senses on the scene he has created and is able to understand his son s embarrassment and shame that he s brought upon him. The short stories The Father by Hugh Garner and Lamp At Noon by Sinclair Ross portray how one person can not only be influenced by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Importance Of Stakeholders In The Classroom Environment Bron and Veugelers (2014) elucidate a classroom environment encompasses a vast and diverse student body that should be reflected in the utilized curriculum which will continually adapt to the ever changing elements and culture surrounding it. Important to realize, is that there is a very considerable group of stakeholders responsible for the advocacy of the curriculum map, those who are composed of neighborhood residents, youth involved in the justice system, unemployed, regulation enforcement agencies, contractors and developers, employers, ordinary community members, and government officials (Rabinowitz, 2017). Accordingly, whether stakeholders are directly or indirectly involved with the students, their input ensures successful outcomes in achievement for those focuses within the learningarena. Stakeholders Purpose To explain, Hanover Research (2016) affirms the stakeholder s role in curriculum mapping is vital, due to invested interest of processes and results, as well as the ability to enhance the review s effectiveness and the many persons who have an expertise through their individual knowledge and skills. This vested interest is to help ensure that appropriateness is upheld in the reviews regarding questions, designs, or methodology. Markedly, Bron and Veugelers (2014) state that by involving the students in the curriculum process, their input will assist and aid in reducing the gap between how student live and learn, and bring more relevance to the learning ... The Underrepresentation Of Women In Film Women are often underrepresented in many fields and occupations in today s day in age, whether it be STEM careers, big business CEOs, or in the case of this paper, film directors. Often the females that are present and well known, still face a large amount of discrimination. Male directors make more than 90 percent of films, reinforcing the anonymity of women in the film industry. In 2015, women only accounted for seven percent of the directors of big Hollywood movies. In her book, And the Mirror Cracked: Feminist Cinema and Film Theory, Anneke Smelik says that, the historical context of feminism allows both the position of the female filmmaker and that of the female spectator to become enacted and empowered as conscious and self reflexive subject positions (1). Coppola s powerful position of female filmmaker lets her explore femininity and asks her audience to identify with the gaze of the powerless woman (44). • 8. A Comparison Of The Pantheon And The Parthenon Introduction With just a quick glance at pictures taken from a distance of the front of the Pantheon and the Parthenon, one might conclude that they are the same building or the same design. Both have eight Greek inspired columns topped with metopes and a triangular pediment at the entry portico (front). However, any other view and a closer look would reveal substantial differences. Even the condition of the present buildings would indicate that the buildings are from very different times and, of course, very different locations. The Parthenon The Parthenon is a Greek temple constructed in 447 BC. It was designed by the architect/artist Phidias and commissioned by Perikles after the Peliponnesian War to worship the Greek goddess, Athena. Reed (2005) The building is a classical Greek structure in the Doric order known as a peripteral THE PANTHEON AND THE PARTHENON 2 octastyle Doric temple with Ionic columns. • 9. Mr. Keating Carpe Diem In Death Poet s Society Most men live lives of quiet desperation describes the boys at the start of the movie Death Poets Society. However, Mr. Keating s saying, Carpe Diem, influenced the path the boys took throughout the movie. Most of the boys took this advice to heart, leading them to change, while others decided to ignore the teachings. Throughout the movie, Todd gather courage which helped him change from a shy antisocial boy to an open and expressive one. This is evident through the fact that Todd revealed the truth to Mr. Keating in front of authority that could get him expelled. This implies that Todd grew to believe that Mr. Keating was a friend that he could open up to. Otherwise, he would have never revealed what happened when he was signing the paper. Also, earlier in the movies, Mr. Keating forced Todd to recite a beautiful poem he composed himself. This shows Todd that his words do matter to the people around him, and that he does not have to hide them. It also foreshadows that he is bound to change later in the movie. Mr. Keating s advice was able to push Todd to become more open and expressive. Neil gradually became more rebellious and lost confidence due to influences from his father and Mr. Keating. The erogenous zones (mouth, anus and genitals) are the avenues through which the energies are directed, and by stimulating these areas, the child finds pleasure. The Ego functions like a good citizen, and acts as an intermediary between the Id, the superego, and the external environment, to procure socially acceptable behavior. Aside from the obvious answer of using material items to generate happiness, the question drove me consider what made someone s life inherently good. A few days after our conversation, I read Open Door by Rebecca Solnit. This passage helped me to eventually answer his question. Throughout Open Door, Solnit defines, exemplifies and reasons, and explores the ideas of losing one s self in order to achieve the good life. Understanding what it means to lose one s self is imperative in order to comprehend the rest of this passage. The idea of losing yourself is, a voluptuous surrender, lost in your arms, lost to the world, utterly immersed in what is present so that its surroundings fade away (Solnit 16). Taking part in losing yourself will allow you to find answers to what is unknown to you. The journey to the unknown and the unknown itself are transformative; however, many individuals do not care for the unknown or are unaware of it. Those who do not care for the unknown typically fear for what it will bring. In today s society, adults restrict their children to playing indoors rather than developing an adventurous and imaginative persona outside of the house, for they believe their children will hurt themselves. • 24. The Language Of A Programing Language A Programing language is a formal language that is designed to communicate information to machine. By using programing languages we will write code to control the machine and for the computation. The programing languages are preceded by the invention of computer. The first computer programing language was written in 1950 s. The first high level programing language Short Code was proposed by John Mauchly s in 1949 for an electronic computer. Generally the artificial language can been split into syntax (form) and semantics (meaning). During that period the computer hardware was very cheap and advanced which requires a good programing tool to develop a computer application software for the system. C was developed by Dennis Ritchie in 1972. C was the most popular programming languages at that period. As time goes on programmers found that it was difficult with structure syntax and they developed a new philosophy language called as OOP. The main concept in OOP was reuse of code. By including all the features and fundamentals of OOP, the new programing language was named as C++ which was developed by Bjarne Stroustrup in 1979. In OOP, problem is made into small units known as objects. Class is the basic unit of code which helps in creating the run time objects. OOP uses bottom up approach. The design of OOP is the chain of responsibility i.e the pattern consists of a source command objects and a series of processing objects. The basic features of OOP are 1. Object. 2. Class. 3. ... He argues that the method of science is superior to all other methods, due to its ability to establish what is true and what is not true in an objective manner. He argues that since experience of the method has not led us to doubt it, the method of sciencewill necessarily lead us to one true conclusion. Peirce regarded logic as an instrument for drawing conclusions from premises. Unlike contemporary logicians, Peirce included in his conception of logic what we would now call epistemological concerns. In particular, he examined the origins of the premises of logical arguments. In his view, progress has been made in securing better starting points for our reasoning. In Peirce s view, the development of scientific method was largely a development of our ... No other state of belief would motivate the use of inference. We would like to be able to identify the principles that are implied by the very idea of the passage from doubt to belief. These would be the most essential principles of logic. Doubts that we have, which give rise to inferences, are manifested through the asking of questions. On the other hand, when we make a pronouncement, we are expressing a belief. Doubt and belief give rise to very different feelings. Doubt is something we try to avoid, because it makes us uneasy and restless. Belief, on the other hand, gives rise to satisfaction. We therefore cling tenaciously to them. You will not get far if you are not filled with the Holy Spirit and seeking grace and mercy daily. A spiritual preparation is a must when pastoring. McCarty, D. (1997). Leading the small church, says A call to preach is a call to prepare. He also says Spirituality is personal and not mechanical and rote exercise. This spiritual preparation is an interaction with God and God alone. This not something that is just done. It is important that time is spent praying to God and listening to what he has for us. A pastor is not in the business of doing what he or she wants to do but what God has for us to do as pastors. Devotion and meditation is essential to the growth of a pastor s spiritual preparation. Outline Of Unresponsiveness Considering the high mortality in the intensive care unit in hospitals compared to other units as well as the high costs of inpatient treatment in these units, mortality prediction has long been a concern [3]. In recognition of these problems, various scoring scales have been proposed and validated. However, no score has been used as a gold standard and some are difficult to use [4]. The most commonly used scale is Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) [5]. Lately Full Outline of Unresponsiveness (FOUR) score has been validated and is being used as an alternative to GCS in evaluation of consciousness in severely brain damaged patients [2]. GCS was introduced in 1974 as a method to objectively determine the severity of brain dysfunction and coma six hours after the occurrence of head trauma [1]. It takes into consideration of three parameters, eye opening, verbal response and motor response. It was revised in 1976 with the addition of a sixth point in motor response subscale for withdrawal from pain stimulus [6]. Why Married American Men Commit Extramarital Affairs Hypothesis Because men are more likely to get involved in sexual relationships outside their marriage due to many different factors, I ve formulated multiple hypotheses below: A.Hypothesis 1 Marital dissatisfaction will be one primary reason for men to cheat on their wives. B.Hypothesis 2 Being married to the same women for many years, can be another potential reason why men commit extramarital affairs. C.Hypothesis 3 Working long distance will be a slightly reason why married men are unfaithful. My hypotheses are connected to the literature that I described above. This is because past researchers in their articles tried to show some possible reasons that influenced men to be unfaithful towards their wives. For this reason, due to past research I was able to create my own hypothesis about why married American men commit extramarital affairs. This means American men get involved in extramarital relationships as a result of many different factors that will influence them to cheat on their wives. Research Method My research question is why married American men decide to engage in sexual acts outside of their marriage? I will proceed collecting my primary data by conducting face to face interviews. • 40. Compare And Contrast The Valley Of Ashes In The Great Gatsby Imagine a world where one side of the equator was filled with wealth, happiness, and content. Now imagine the other side of the equator filled with poverty, sadness, and death. These two completely opposing halves enhance each other s descriptions and make one think of each side more deeply about the concept. This same scenario is also present in one of America s favorite novels based upon the 1920s and the American dream. In F. Scott Fitzgeralds novel, The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald juxtaposes two contrasting places, the Valley of Ashes and New York City , using imagery to magnify the difference between reality and a fantasy, which is central to the meaning of the work. The Valley of Ashes is halfway between West Egg of Long Island and New York City. When one comes upon the Valley of Ashes, it is not what they see, but what they do not see: sunshine, colors, or a settling feeling. The Valley of Ashes is nothing but a dull location, filled with unsatisfied farmers, unsuccessful gardens, billowing smoke, and mounds of ashes that are prominent below the gray skies. Nick Carraway, the narrator of The Great Gatsby, describes the Valley of Ashes as ...a fantastic farm where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens; where ashes take the forms of houses and chimneys and rising smoke and, finally, with a transcendent effort, of men who move dimly and already crumbling through the powdery air (Fitzgerald 23). Fitzgerald describes this location as unpleasant for those who enter and it is seen as a vulnerable place due to the billboard of Dr. T.J. Eckleburg looking upon the location at all times. This descriptive quote foreshadows that something bad will occur in this area during the novel. As for New York City, in the novel it is defined as the perfect place to live life to the fullest and not have a care of the world. As a reader, it is expected to envision this city full of lights as a bright, restless, and colorful place. Readers could see why family farming was so important. So why would people want to bring in top gun machinery and ruin the land for future crops? For money and growth of themselves, not for the farming industry because in the late 1900s farming dropped from 40% to a glum 4.6%.
