she was going to get the job. Heather Cooke, the store manager who interviewed Samantha liked her
and recommended that she be hired. Cooke gave Elauf a rating, which qualified her to be hired,
however, she was concerned that her headscarf would conflict with Abercrombie s employee dress
policy. The headscarf that she wore according to her religious obligations conflicted with the store s

I entered the delicate balance project process with the intention of continuing the American chestnut
restoration project that I initiated last semester. I was enticed by the appeal of bringing a lapsed
keystone species back into the forests of Vermont, and the romantic legacy it might provide for my

December 1, 1955, an African American woman named Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a
white passenger on a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama. By refusing to give up her seat, Rosa Parks
was arrested. Dr. King held a meeting at his church the next night to discuss ways of dealing with her
arrest and protesting her arrest. So, they decided that they would have a bus boycott, beginning on
Monday, December the 5th. Her refusal caused what is now known as the Montgomery Boycott. Since

state laws, bus segregation was allowed, forcing an organized bus boycott. This boycott caused

King for the citizens, blacks represented 44% of the population, so with the choices of transportation

The first example of Odysseus using his brain over his brawn is when he tricks the cyclops into
drinking too much wine, causing him to pass out leading to Odysseus and his crew being able to

Another example of Odysseus using his wits is when he makes his crew put beeswax in their ears and

Documentaries are usually boring, just spitting facts at the viewers. Not Michael Moore s Bowling For
Columbine, this film was very different from any other documentary. It was not simply facts, instead
Moore took a different approach to get the attention of the less informed. Learning a lot throughout the
film, it would be a great recommendation for anyone looking to learn about the gun accessibility and
violence within America.
In this documentary, Moore begins by showing how easy it is to obtain a gun in America. He finds out
about a bank that is giving away guns at the opening of an account with them. Going into the bank
followed by a camera crew, Moore is granted the bank account with the accompanying gun, thus,
highlighting the easy accessibility of guns in America. However on Michael Moore s website, he
comes out and says that the bank scene is staged with hired actors, but it was inspired by an ad he had
seen in a Michigan newspaper in 2001 (Moore). This scene was very compelling, making the viewer
realize that gun regulations are quite lose. Upon finding out that the scene was not real, some of the
shock is lost, due to the fact that the process was most likely more complex than Moore had made it

discuss how social media shapes musical identities. To do this I will use Instagram, YouTube, and

his final points, that Washington feared the possibility of dying while in office. Ellis sees motivation
more than just pride. Also, he highlights three main factors of the statement that he believes many

parameters for obtaining the desired machined quality. In this regard, the present work is focused on
the relationship between the input process parameters and machined surface integrity for minimizing
the machined damage. Moreover, the paper presents the comparative analysis and performance of two
different mill tools such as a specially designed carbide tipped tool and a solid carbide tool.
Subsequently, comparing the evaluation of two tools was illustrated by plotting origin graphs. Finally,

Bullying is when you force someone to do something they do not want to, and it can cause stress or
then leads to suicide in some cases. In Schoolyard Bullies by Stephanie Simon, prosecutor James

because there are different degrees of bullying. Some bullies are victims, and sending bullies to jail

Visions of Nature Reflection When the Visions of Nature project was first explained in the beginning
of the course I was immediately worried about how I would be able to create something that
represented the natural world in an artistic way. Personally, I am not the most skilled in the world of
art through visual and esthetically pleasing mediums. My artistic peak was reached in kindergarten
when I made an impressive elephant with finger paint before the school s annual trip to the National
Zoo. At first I struggled with deciding what type of project to pursue. I wanted to do something
meaningful and original, but the best I could think of was either to make a video or maybe a collage. It
wasn t until I was walking back to my dorm room late one night when it presented itself, literally. It
was a pretty peaceful evening when I was passing the Dominion residence building. I did not see or

Enzymes Enzymes are complex proteins that carry out essentially every chemical reaction in the
human body. Enzymes function as biological catalyst, regulating the rate at which chemical reactions
proceed without themselves being altered in the process.
In this particular experiment we recognized benzoquinone and examined two numbers of factors to
determine their effects on enzyme action. The factors were temperature and specificity (how
discriminating the enzyme is in catalyzing different potential substrates). The enzyme that we

DISCUSSION
1. We know that the substrates of catechol oxidase are catechol and oxygen. The substrates react with
one another within the active site of the enzyme. The products formed by this reaction are
benzoquinone and water. In this exercise we mixed the ingredients, stirred them, and incubate them at
40°C. We formed in tube 2a the product benzoquinone, observed its color change, and established a
color intensity scale.
2. In our second exercise we determined the ability of the enzyme cathecol oxidase to catalyze the
oxidation of two different but structurally similar substrates: cathecol and hydroquinone. Examining
their chemical structure we noticed that both are ring structures with two hydroxyl groups attached.
The question was if the enzyme could also convert it to benzoquinone. We observed how
discriminating cathecol oxidise is for particular substrates by comparing the color intensity of the
solutions in each test tubes with the standards produced in the first section (Table 1). We recorded
them in Table 2.
After 10 min we recorded the color intensity in Table 3. Our conclusion was that cathecol is stronger
enzyme than hydroquinone and that the enzyme is simply too specific to interact with the similar but
not identical molecule.

One way England controlled their rights was through placing restrictions on trade. When this rule was
implemented the colonist grew angry. Not only did Britain not have all the supplies that the colonies

colonist accused of wrongdoing. If the colonists was accused of a wrongdoing by Britain, the British
would capture them and send them to England for a trial. The trial would occur in England rather in
the colonies. The colonists could not defend themselves because no one in England would defend
them making for a very unfair legal process. This is in contrast to what happened after the Boston

Summary and Arrangement of the book: The general arrangement of the book is that it is broken up
into short, event oriented chapters. Each chapter focuses specifically on the details f a single event
with little deviance in terms of the story line. The chapters build upon each other in a way that creates
a well rounded understanding of the protagonist Edmond Dantés life. The fist four chapters focus on
Dantés accomplishments and his success. Dumas highlights all that is positive in Dantés life such as
him becoming captain of the Pharaon at such a young age and that he is finally able to marry the love
of his life, Mercedes. The fourth chapter is the turning point in which Dantés life turns from joy to
suffering. Chapters five and six are where Dantés fate is decided. He is captured on suspicion of being
a Bonapartist, however, upon examination, the officer Villefort decides that Dantés is innocent and is
prepared to grant him his freedom and release him from all charges until Dantés let slip the name of
whom he was unintentionally meant to deliver a Bonapartist letter to. Villefort recognizes the name
and address to be that of his own father. In protecting his reputation, Villefort burns the letter and has
Dantés imprisoned in the Château D If. Chapter seven only finalizes the decision of Villefort to
imprison the innocent man to save

HARCOURT MUNICIPAL)
ABSTRACT
This study focused on The Role of Achievement Motivation in Industrial development: A study of Port
Harcourt Municipal. The onus of the research was to X ray the extent to which the role of achievement
motivation from childhood could be instrumental to industrial development in Nigerian. In addition,
some of the major objectives were to discover if the values of a given soda economic milieu and
achievement motivation could have a blend and affect a nation s level of industrial development; to
unravel the existence of low level of achievement values and lack of industrial growth.
The researcher raised some hypothesis. These hypotheses were to establish if there is a significant
relationship between the inability to inculcate achievement motivation in an individual and low level
of its contribution to industrial development later in life; also to find out, if the more a family
inculcates achievement values in a child through socialization, the more, or the higher the tendencies
for the child to work hard and contribute meaningfully to industrial development.
