The Fool In King Lear Essay
Authenticity of civility aside, words, no matter the motivation behind them, leave a lasting effect on
the people who read or hear them. King Lear stresses how words can be used to victimize people
behind a veneer of legitimacy. Regan, Goneril, and Edmund in the opening scenes use words as a tool
to fulfill their agendas when the three use kind words to disguise their objectives. In Act I, Scene I, the
sisters give Lear moving speeches to win over his love, but once he leaves their true personalities start
to surface when they do not show Cordelia any sympathy for her banishment (Shakespeare, 24). This
instance illustrates that even the most evil people can sound like a good person by choosing the right
words in a particular situation. While ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The last words of Oswald the servant and the duke of Cornwall share similarities, despite the character
s different statuses. Cornwall orders for the servant who stabbed him to be thrown outside without a
proper burial, while Oswald asks to be buried. These speeches [refer] indirectly to the chthonic gods
who have dictated that the dead body must covered with earth (Cohen), illuminating how both men
view the gods in the midst of death. Oswald becomes god fearing after assisting Goneril s schemes,
while Cornwall thinks he can dictate who should get honored by the gods. Lear s utters more personal
dying words than Oswald and Cornwall: Do you see this? Look on her. Look, her lips. Look there,
look there (Shakespeare, 308), her referring to an imaginary Cordelia. Unlike the dramatic deaths of
Oswald and Cornwall, Lear dies subtly, so much that the people present mistake his death for fainting.
The emotional intensity of Lear s death resonates in Edgar as his reaffirms the theme of genuine words
when he recites the last speech of the play: Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say
(Shakespeare, 310). Shakespeare uses the last words of secondary characters to communicate his
themes of mortality, while he uses Lear s to show his emotional progression from the start of the

Programming Models Of Wsn System
Research Proposal Title Programming Models of WSN System: A State of the Art Survey Introduction
There are a lot scenarios need different sensor nodes to collaborate and integrated on the air into
networks to facilitate applications. The scaled down censoring system presented below is an example
of those wireless sensor networks (WSN). In this system sensors are different between corridors area
and manufacturing area, since they need different precise level. Those sensors combined together by
different wireless AP and provide services to different applications inside and outside the plant. This is
where virtualization shines. Virtualization creates an uniformed environment in heterogeneous sensor
networks. It bridge the gap between infrastructure and applications. And the network and sensor
virtualization can achieved by the middleware. Middleware hide unnecessary details and complexity
of the underlying heterogeneous infrastructures, like different sensor nodes and different wireless AP
in the presented scenario. Software designs and programming approaches for the middleware design
should facilitate the balance between communication and computing. Energy awareness, routing,
efficient resource utilization and data delivery have always been the key parameters for an efficient
programming model for WSN. Motivating Scenario Fig 1. A motivating example on dust free
manufacturing plant censoring. A simplified dust free manufacturing plant censoring system is
described below.

Gullah Or Sea Island Creole English
Background information about the African languages that contributed to Gullah.
Gullah (or Geechee or Sea Island Creole English) formed separately on the Sea Islands off the coast of
the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida throughout the 18th and 19th centuries among enslaved Western
Africans. They developed a language that combined grammatical, phonological, and lexical features
of the non standard English varieties spoken by white slaveholders and farmers in that region of the
United States along with those from numerous Western and Central African languages. According to
this view, Gullah developed separately, or distinctly, from African American English and varieties of
English spoken in the South.
Why was English first introduced?
English was first introduced in these sea islands and surrounding areas due to the large amount of
West African slaves that were taken from their home country that had many different dialects (Wolof,
Malinke, Mandinka, Bambara to name a few). Due to the difference in dialects a similar language was
needed for them communicate so English was used as it was a prevalent and accessible language
commonly spoken by slaveholders.
The Southern American English Variety.
Gullah developed from Southern American English. Which originated from a combination of
immigrants from the British Isles, who moved to the American South in the 17th and 18th centuries,
and from prior creole or post creole speech of African slaves.

Historical Development Of Play Research
In this assignment, I am going to explore the concept of play by investigating the historical
development of play, also considering the social and cultural aspects which has led to the appropriate
practice today. First of all, I m going to talk about why play is important.
The importance of play was recognised in the Children Act 2004 which sets out five outcomes within
the Every Child Matters (ECM) framework. These include being healthy, staying safe, enjoying and
achieving, making a positive contribution and economic wellbeing. There are various definitions of
play and playing.

Fantasy play was considered important to her and play as a whole was seen substantial to overall
development. She recognised the importance of a nurturing environment, which allows the children to
discover their interests with no fixed curriculum. As she believes in the emotional expression of play,
she believes play is an important part of children s lives at home as well as at placement, this is
accomplished through love and warmth to ensure stimulating opportunities in both settings. Isaacs
valued parents as the child s primary educators and believes this is why play should be interlinked
between the setting and home. Historically from the 1900 s to recent years, parents perceptions have
changed as they expect nursery settings to nurture and bring up the child rather than at home, this
shows have roles have changed over the years. However, on the other hand, Sara Smilansky s theory
focuses on a child s physical, intellectual, social and emotional development rather than just play,
which supports the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Part of the research carried out by
Smilansky focuses on cultural effects on play, she noticed that children from lower class backgrounds
took part in less dramatic play in comparison to those who were from a middle class background, she
believed the reason behind this

European And Native American Beliefs
The history of Native American religion is influenced by exposure to Europeans, the beliefs of
different tribes, and traditions that were passed down orally. When the Europeans came to America
they impacted the Native American religions in many different ways. The Native Americans had to
adapt to Europeans, but they also kept to their original ways. Even before the adaptations, the Native
Americans and Europeans had similarities including: believing one god and one main evil spirit,
believing in an afterlife, and they both believed in the immortality of the soul. Even though the
Natives believed in one god, Master Spirit , unlike the Europeans, they believed that the god could
assume a variety of forms and both genders; Native Americans also believed in many lesser spirits.
Other differences were that Natives passed their beliefs down verbally instead of documenting
everything in a book or books. As a result of exposure to Europeans, Native American traditions
gradually intermixed with Christian beliefs. One example of the influence of Christianity on Native
American rituals is the adaptations to the Sun Dance. Before the Sun Dance was primarily practiced in
the Upper Plains and the Rocky Mountains and performed at the summer solstice. The dance was
often practiced differently for each tribe, but the Eagle, helping bring body and spirit in harmony, is an
important symbol for all tribes. There are many similarities for each tribe including: specific songs
and dances that

Rhetorical Analysis Of Salman Rushdie By Scott Russell...
In response to an essay by Salman Rushdie, author Scott Russell Sanders critiques Rushdie s assertion
that to be a migrant is, perhaps, to be the only species of human being free of the shackles of
naturalism (Rushdie). Sanders believes that constant movement and migration results in disastrous
consequences for the earth and for ourselves, and he argues that settling is essential for humans
(Sanders). In this passage, Sanders uses and inductive structure beginning with broad examples of
American romanticism of transient lifestyle, and ends with his thesis, leading the reader down a path
directly to his counter of Rushdie s claim. Furthermore, Sanders provides historical examples to
logically show the benefits of making a home in a restless world (Sanders). ... Show more content on

Our heroes have been sailors, explorers,... rainbow chasers, vagabonds, Sanders states, providing non
specific information relating to the American notion of migration. After describing the fundamentals
of mass migrations, Sanders then goes on to compare Salman Rushdie s steadfast support of human
relocation to America s enthusiasm for migration. (Sanders). Nevertheless, Sanders counters this
comparison by presenting evidence that refutes Rushdie s ideals. Concluding this passage, Sanders
establishes his thesis: by settling in, we have a chance of making a durable home for ourselves, our
fellow creatures, and our descendants. (Sanders). By following this inductive structure─moving from
broad information down to his thesis─Sanders is able to effectively execute his purpose of challenging
Rushdie and supporting settling in

Soviet Expansion Into Eastern Europe
Security has been disputed to be another driving factor, and possibly the main factor to the cause of
the cold war as it is interlinked both with ideology and the nuclear race. For instance, ideology and
security both influenced the same event, which in this case was the creation of the Eastern bloc.
(Heywood, 2014) stated that Soviet expansion into Eastern Europe was seen as defensive rather than
aggressive , motivated essentially by a buffer zone desire. Security was an important factor because
the Soviets believed that by having the eastern bloc, they would be protected from Germany as they
had been invaded twice since 1917. Stalin wanted to ensure that future attacks will not happen again.
(Daddow, 2013) highlights how states are primarily concerned with their own survival and therefore
prioritise military and security concerns . As a result this factor has great importance because it
highlights how misperceptions about the soviets desire to protect itself from future invasion had led to
several missed chances of peace. (Heywood, 2014) shows how the US was concerned that the creation
of a soviet bloc was an expression of Russian imperial ambitions.
Robert Jervis in Security dilemma states that states can neither neglect the possibility that others will
become aggressive in the future nor credibly guarantee that they themselves remain peaceful . He
argued that although other motives such as greed, glory and honour come into play, much of
international politics is

Should Flag Desecration Be Allowed
Protesting is one of the many freedoms of being an American citizen. Although there are freedoms, I
believe flag desecration shouldn t be allowed as a form of protest. Flag desecration should not be
allowed because it is very disrespectful toward our veterans and our country, and it shows how you
abuse your rights and freedoms as a citizen. Veterans fight and die for the freedoms and rights that the
people of the United States have which is why one should never disrespect an American veteran.
Veterans fight for that flag everyday of their lives because war sticks with them forever. If you are
disrespecting the American flag, then you are disrespecting our veterans. Flag desecration can affect
some veterans and hurt them a lot. When they realize they fought for and protected people that don t
give anything back to them but disrespect, it can hurt a lot. Flag desecration not only shows disrespect
towards our veterans, but it shows disrespect towards our whole country. ... Show more content on

Song Of Myself Poetic Devices

Within the first line of the poem the individual speaks of themselves, saying they are proud of
themselves and celebrate themselves, but then brings in others in line two and says they shall see them

The speaker of this poem is talking to a hawk, he does not understand what the hawk is trying to say,
but he can tell it is upset. As the hawk cannot understand the speaker, they are human which the bird

understood by the other. A barbaric yawp is a way of saying a cry or a yelp of course talk, if the bird
cannot understand what he is saying, it can understand his tone. If one only speaks english and hears

1920s Car Industry
Contrary to Wilson s decrepit car garage, the auto repair industry changed rapidly in growth as well as
in jobs during the early twentieth century, while further straddling a wedge within the social hierarchy
as automobiles became more widespread in usage. The automobile industry became an oligopoly with
the formation of the Big Three: Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler (controlling 70% of the industry),
as the rest produced luxury vehicles for the upper class (Batchelor). Companies such as Ford evolved
their vehicles, such as introducing interchangeable parts, enabling the expansion of tools used by
mechanics ( The Auto Mechanic s Trade ). Combined with the increased usage of mass production
techniques, as well as the First World War creating ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Auto mechanics often had a negative perception of all their customers from different social classes,
believing they were all ignorant due to their lack of technological knowledge, and thus could be
exploited for financial gain (Borg, Auto Mechanics: Technology and Expertise ). On the contrary side
vehicle owners often perceived the mechanics to be of low social class and thus intelligence. For
example, Hudson Motor Company had car manuals telling their wealthy customers to be patient with
car mechanics when they were repairing the car, since many are from lower socioeconomic
backgrounds and thus were not as smart as the wealthy car owner (Borg, The Chauffeur Problem 824).
The car owner s perceptions largely drew from the nature of an auto mechanics work, as Auto
mechanics often used their 5 senses to find visual issues with cars, making the profession heavily
reliant on experience (Borg, Auto Mechanics: Technology and Expertise ). This aspect of their work
made them special from other professions, but also made them seem naturally unintellectual in their
work. In fact, the auto electrical repair mechanics, who relied on calculations rather than senses,

HMGB1 And Alzheimer s Disease Analysis
HMGB1 is a prototypic damage associated molecular pattern (DAMP) protein highly secreted by
activated macrophages and monocytes as a cytokine mediator of inflammation. This DNA binding
nuclear protein is released both passively during cell death and actively following cytokine
stimulation. It is also implicated in both infectious and sterile inflammatory disorders [32 36] affecting
the central nervous system (CNS) such as in Parkinson s disease (PD) [37], multiple sclerosis (MS)
[38,39], ischemic stroke [40], traumatic brain injury (TBI) [41] and Alzheimer s disease AD [42 44].
HMGB1 activates cells by differential engagement of several membrane receptors including advanced
glycation end products (RAGE), toll like receptor 2 (TLR2), and TLR4 which are primarily
responsible for HMGB1 pro inflammatory activity and BBB impairment [45,46]. Specific to the
proposed work, several studies have clearly outlined the role of OS in the development of
microvascular and cardiovascular complications of 2DM [47].

In our experiment we observed a miniature potbellied pig and the way different food would affect the
pig. Naturally the feces of the pig will change due to the different food it is fed. A healthy pigs stool is
supposed to look dark brown and firm, yet not hard. We closely observed the pigs feces for any

consisted of being in a stable surrounded by sheep and chicken. However, she had her own space to

The Theme Of Anthem, By Ayn Rand
Anthem, by Ayn Rand, is a book that deals with topics of power, love, and individualism, and societal
and personal differences . The theme of anthem, that individuality must be protected, is widespread
and prominent, referenced throughout the book, from the viewpoint of the main character.
This will go over the character, the time, and the setting in the book, helping to show and understand
the theme because the author can convey plot points and themed information better through the
components of the book themselves, rather than outright stating it in the book.
The character helps understand the theme in the story, that individuality must be treasured in our
society, because it shows what the emotional and physical links to the society in the book, as well as
the mental states and feelings influencing the text.
The main character is named Equality 7 252 . He described himself as 6 , and he had always been
more interested in the scientific attributes of nature, rather than the job at hand. He held little regard
for the rules of the society, as shown by his disregard to law. The laws say that none among men may
be alone, ever and at any time, for this is the great transgression and the root of all evil. But we have
broken many laws, (Rand )
This character helped understand the theme in the story, that individuality must be treasured in our
society, since the character is , while struggling to maintain his own individuality. ...and we would
work for our brothers, gladly and willingly, ...What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to
obey?... (Rand). This quote helps support the theme in the novel by showing Equality s individuality
in different parts of the book. At the beginning, he denied his individuality and tried to blend in with
the conformist society, while at the end, he accepts and treasures his individuality. This relates to the
theme by showing that his individuality is treasured and valued by him.
The character and the setting work together to help find the theme in multiple ways. The characters
lives and works in the setting, while the setting and society helps influence the main character. The
setting shows where the character lives in the world, and how the culture in

There are various ways in which to improve general reading skills, three of the ways include extensive
reading, repeated reading and speed reading. Extensive reading can be practiced by a large quantity of
text read over a certain period of time. This allows reader to be exposed to a wide rage of vocabulary
that adds to the readers general knowledge. This new knowledge could later on aid them when reading
a different text and come across the same word only now that they are familiarised with the word,
therefore they would understand what they are reading more. By practicing this readers are increasing
reading performance thus they can take on more challenging texts. Repeated reading is when readers
read the same text several times either to themselves or aloud. This then effectively develops the
fluency of reading, as well as allows the reader to analyse the text more deeply. Speed reading courses
are created to assist in increasing the reading speed of readers. Readers learn to skim read texts to
decrease reading time but at the same time try to prevent a decrease in the comprehension of a texts

Analysis Of. Eliot s Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock
In T.S. Eliot s Love song of J. Alfred Prufrock, Prufrock invites the reader on a journey with him
through his story of love, or love that never was. He speaks to the reader as his love lost and asks her
to stick with him on his journey through time, to learn why their love never transpired. He begins by
showing her his decisions as a young adult, optimistic and confident in time, to prepare for her. Time
goes by, he is now middle aged and insecure of his appearance, now in fear of her rejection and unsure
if he has missed his window. Nearing the end of the poem he has grown older still, having wasted all
time, knowing now that his love story will never be, he is ready to show his lost love, why. Young
Adult Prufrock begins as lite hearted and carefree. He invites his love on a walk at dusk through the
sleazy streets of their town. Begging her not to question him just yet of where they are going, Oh do
not ask what is it let us go and make our visit. (Eliot) Prufrock is confident in time, comfortable in
procrastinating. There will be time, there will be time, to prepare a face to meet the faces that you
meet; there will be time to murder and create; and time for all the works and days of hands that lift and
drop a question on your plate: time for you and time for me, (Eliot) Looking further into the text here,
it leaves the impression that he is stringing the love along, expecting her to wait until he is ready,
assuming that she will always be there when he decides

This also uses the technique of personalisation like the tabloid; however it is more formal and does not

because they are only costly thoughts instead. There is a more formal, serious picture; he is shown
doing his job in smart clothes and he looks dignified. There is only one picture and a lot more text
which is divided into eight columns.
The sun differs from the Daily Telegraph in content greatly. The Sun only has a short paragraph of
background information whereas The Daily Telegraph has quite a large section describing Atkinson s
tributes and achievements in football. Also The Sun has much shorter quotes in its article. This is
because The Sun is known to get straight to the point in articles whilst The Daily Telegraph usually
gives all sides of the argument before coming to a conclusion.
The Sun is part of the News Corporation Group owned by press baron Rupert Murdoch and is the best

. In the chapter called A Natural Experiment of History the Moriori and Maori both descended from
the Polynesian people. The question that Diamond is trying to answer is what made the two group so
different from each other because they came from the same people. The Moriori were hunter gathers
of a small isolated population that were equipped with only simply technology and weapons. They
were inexperienced at war. Also lacked strong leadership in order to take care of their group. But the
Maori invader (from New Zealand s North Island) came from large population of famers. The farmers
in Maori constantly engaged in wars, more advanced in technology and weapon. Maori operated under
a strong leadership. There is no hesitation that when the two group came in contact Maori would had
destroyed the Moriori. On the other hand since the Maori and Moriori descended from the same race
cannot defend why one group was more advance over the other. It was the environmental and
geographical factors that caused Maori to advance more. For example, Chatham is very small and

William Shakespeare s Hamlet
Mirror to Society
Within the play Hamlet, William Shakespeare wrote what he thought to be the purpose of theatre. He
defined theatre to be the actor s ability to hold up a mirror to nature and portray what is actually
happening within society. During the time of Shakespeare, the main aim in theatre was to create a
night of entertainment, where society could escape from the issues of the day. However, Shakespeare s
message of reflection would take hold in the 19th century as the primary purpose for theatre and evoke
a modernization within theatre that insisted it be a reflection of reality. During the 1890s, two
strategies developed in an effort to restore the Celtic heritage in Ireland, the Irish Literary Movement
and the Neo Gaelic revival. It is for this reason that an Irish Literary Renaissance began spreading
through Ireland. This renaissance was influenced by an increase in the national interest for Gaelic
legends and myths. The revival of the old Gaelic heritage served as inspiration to the growing political
nationalism. At the close of the 19th century, Nationalist movements were spreading throughout most
of Europe. In Ireland, the nationalist movement was calling for separation from British oppression.
Ireland had been under English rule for over 300 years and saw itself ready for home rule. Irish
politics began to pressure its artists into displaying a civilized and respectable national image.
However, the Irish people could not agree on an exact image.

Corporate credit expansion in the U.S. between 2001 and the first half of 2007 was driven almost
exclusively by the inflow of institutional (non bank) funding into the syndicated loan market.
The participation of a wide range of institutional investors
(including structured funds known as collateralized loans obligations (CLOs), hedge funds, mutual
funds, pension funds, and insurance companies) in the corporate loan market was facilitated by loan
syndication.
In general, institutional investment in loans tended to concentrate in the leveraged segment of the

Why might it make sense for Citigroup to SELL this loan portfolio? Banks would normally be able to
absorb a few billion dollars of bridge loans on their balance sheet BUT the issue lies in the systemic
nature of the underwriting risk.
In 2008, banks were under pressure to sell the assets on their books more broadly.
Like many others, Citigroup had suffered unprecedented losses and write downs and was facing the
prospect of having even more considerable losses. (See Case pp. 2 3.)

Comparing The Jungle And How The Other Half Lives
Society has led us to believe that what doesn t kill you actually makes you stronger. That there is no
gain without pain. That a man s blood, sweat, and tears will be all worth the struggle. The Roman poet
Horace even once said that adversity can bring out talents which in a successful environment, would
not exist. With all these assurances that difficult circumstances will meritable, it is hard to picture
Horace s statement being challenged. However, in the books, The Jungle, and How the Other Half
Lives, adversity clearly never led to any such benefits or talents being drawn out as Horace
mentioned. For example, within, The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair, Jurgis, a Lithuanian immigrant, came
to America with his family for the American Dream. Eventually, they fall into fiscal trouble, and
Jurgis old father, Antennas, is forced to perform grueling work until he dies from it. Additionally,
Jurgis struggles to pay for his high interest house, and instead of eliciting a talent, Jurgis elicits harsh
resentment for his family. How the Other Half Lives, by Jacob Riis, also described many of the
worries the people of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to worry about and no money for himself. He calls himself a slave to marriage because he longs to be
free from responsibility. No talents or abilities came from this misfortune, and the family is never able
to pay off the house. One by one, most of his loved ones die because Jurgis is no longer strong enough
to support them. If Horace was right, Jurgis would have found a sleeping skill within himself to save
the day and help everyone, but that just is not how reality works. Hard times do not mean that one will
come out a more skillful person. Horace s words really let Jurgis

When It Comes To The Fourth Amendment And Searching A...
When it comes to the Fourth Amendment and searching a person s car or their person, there are a few
factors to take into consideration. In order for an officer to search an individual s car, they must have
consent, otherwise the search is unreasonable and whatever evidence seized could be inadmissible in
the court of law. However, it is possible to conduct a search without consent and seize evidence
without a warrant but there ought to be probable cause or reasonable suspicion. The two differ in the
sense that reasonable suspicion is based off past experiences and expertise. Probable cause is needed
for a search to take place; conversely if there is no probable cause but an officer has enough
reasonable suspicion, they still are allowed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, in Minnesota v. Dickerson (1993), if an officer can readily identify an object from
a pat down, they can use their discretion and experience and retrieve it if they know it to be true. If
they are unsure and take it, whatever was seized is inadmissible in court. In legal terms, this is known
as the plain feel doctrine. This allows a police officer to seize objects during a legitimate pat down
search if by plain feel he reasonably believes it to be contraband. Just because the plain feel doctrine
has been established does not granted officers the right to touch, it simply permits an officer to
interpret tactile sensations to identify an object during a pat down (Poulin, 1997 pg. 23).
There is a strong correlation between the Fourth Amendment and racial profiling. I asked a police
officer what they believed was the main reason for a lawsuit against an officer and they said violations
in regards to the Fourth Amendment followed by failure to act. Take the United States v. Brignoni
Ponce case for instance. A police officer pulled over a drive that looked to be Mexican because he
believed them to be an illegal immigrant. The problem was that officers were roving the border and
stopping individuals for no reason other than to see if they were illegal immigrants. The Fourth
Amendment held that a patrolman is prohibited to crowd the Mexican border just to stop and

NFL Running Back
The great Green Bay Packer coach Vince Lombardi said, The only place success comes before work is
in the dictionary (Brainyquote). Success is a moment that must be worked for first. It takes a lot of
work to be an NFL running back. The mixture of blood, sweat, tears, hard work, passion, pain,
adversity, and a love for the game is the combination necessary to have a career as an NFL running
back. The job description for a pro running back is a little bit different than the average office job. As
a professional running back athletes have to be able to put themselves through intense training through
the heat of the summer, train and practice to improve strength and abilities, athletes have to be able to
attend scheduled meetings and practices( Athlete Professional Athlete ). Some special skills and
abilities that are necessary to be a successful running back involve elusiveness, speed, toughness, grit,
durability, and a passion(Callaway). The salary of any professional athlete is a good motivation to
want to make it to the top for anyone. Athletes receive a base salary which is just the prime check that
the athlete receives. There are also different bonuses such as signing bonuses which they also receive
each year it is smaller but still a large amount of money, there is also motivational bonuses, for a
running back it is a certain amount of yards and they get bonus money. Players also get a bonus for
making it to the super bowl. This past season the highest paid

Deicer Lab Essay
Abstract Through three different experiments we were to find the quality of NaCl as a deicer. These
experiments included testing the freezing point depression of NaCl in solution at two different
concentrations, testing for the H of an aqueous NaCl solution, and combining NaCl with MgCl2 in an
aqueous solution to test for freezing point depression. Through these various experiments we found
NaCl to be the best deicer for our region due to its proficient freezing point depression and its cost
efficiency.
Introduction
As scientists we were given the task to find the overall effectiveness of NaCl as a deicer. In choosing
the best deicer we are comparing NaCl to KCl, MgCl2, and CaCl2. We believed NaCl to be the best

Analysis Day One
Through our data acquisition on day one our predicted values for the change in temperature of our
NaCl solution in water was slightly off. This was most likely due to recording the freezing
temperature sometime after the precise moment of the solution freezing. However, we predicted that
as we doubled our concentration of NaCl in solution the freezing point depression would also double
which is consistent with our results. Through our day one experiments we were able to better
understand the ability of NaCl as a deicer by understanding how the freezing point depression changes
based on concentration. We could further test these results by testing with different concentrations of
NaCl.

Anselm s Ontological Argument On The Existence Of God
Anselm s Ontological argument sets out to not only prove God s existence, but to show that God s
existence is self evident. Similar to other ontological arguments, it uses a priori knowledge to argue its
validity, meaning that the propositions made are derived from internal reasoning instead of sense
experience. The argument begins with Anselm defining the term God as that, than which nothing
greater can be conceived (pg.26). Although simple, once this term is accepted Anselm believes he has
successfully proven the existence of God. This becomes clearer with further analysis. If God is a being
that, than which nothing greater can be conceived, it naturally follows that God would possess all
properties of greatness. An example of this would be omnipotence. Omnipotence would be such a
property because it is greater to have ultimate power than to have limited power, therefore, God being
the greatest conceivable being would possess the property of omnipotence. Likewise, it is greater for
something to exist in both reality and the mind, than to exist only in the mind. Thus, just as
omnipotence was ascribed to God so must the property of existence, for if God did not exist, he would
be lacking a great making property, and consequently would be only a great being, but not the greatest
conceivable being.
Existence being am inherent property of God s essence is why Anselm believes God s existence to be
self evident. However, as Anselm states the fool has said in his heart, There

Some would believe that counter terrorism and immigration are linked to a point in society. The July

Homework Persuasive Essay
Are you happy with your job right now? Do you wish that you did something beneficial for yourself in
school? Do you even use any of the stuff you learned in school in your today life? I very much believe
that the homework given for school is honestly inconsiderate, time consuming, and it s unethical. I
stand by these factors for many reasons. As much as I see why it s given, I do indeed believe that the
reasons pushed against it are more important than the latter. Regardless, here is my reasoning of why
homework is inconsiderate to students, time consuming for them, and unethical to their lives. I wish
that parents that make their kids do homework would take a second and look at what they re doing.
And if that doesn t seem beneficial to them, they are being inconsiderate as those kids, young or older,
are being piled with work that they will never use in the rest of their lives. Especially if that parent
knows if their family is struggling and still sending a child to school to do things that will not benefit
their family. Perhaps that family is struggling with money, food, relationships, even lack of a shelter
for them to stay. Most parents get this thing in their head that if their child doesn t do all this work,
then they will fail in life, but that child is being filled with knowledge that makes them confused on
what they actually want to do. Then they demand that you not only do the pile of useless work that
holds that kid back from doing something more productive

was decided that it was best for the company to exit its current market and focus on its profitable

backward into steelmaking. In 2012, Nucor was the largest manufacturer of steel and steel products in

The single largest costs for Nucor is raw materials, scrap metal and scrap substitutes. All of its steel
mills use recycled scrap metal to make steel products. 1.1 tons of scrap and scrap substitutes are
required to produce 1 ton of steel. As the biggest user of scrap metal in North America, it is imperative
that it gains better control over its costs of raw materials (Attachment C.) Market demand supply
conditions fluctuate significantly in the steel market, and directly drive scrap prices. Scrap and scrap
substitute price averages increased by 57.6% from 2007 to 2008. Although prices did decrease by
30.8% the next year, by 2011 prices showed a total increase of 58% since 2007 (Attachment D.) The

Nucor s pricing strategy each year essential to maintaining the company s profitability. The company

The massive building and production of cement cause dust and other harmful particles to submerge
into the urban cities of Albania.
Urban wastes and water pollution are a serious health threat to the urban population. Despite Albania s
rich sources of water, the pollutant discharges are causing lack of freshwater in the cities, only 60% of
the population have access to a drinking water supply.
Sanitation has been a problem in the country for a long time. The poor state of sewage collection and
systems cause contamination to both drinking water and soil. There is a large amount of sickness
associated with the water pollution. The levels of shigellosis and typhoid fever are very high in
Albania; and the monthly statistics of food and waterborne diseases show that shigellosis infections
linger in the country throughout the year. It is also estimated that each year 500 deaths in the city are
caused by air and water pollution. The immense usage of cars and vehicles also propose a large threat
to air pollution and the health of the population.
In spite of the air pollution in Albania being caused mostly by outdoor issues, such as cars and
industrial plants; there are still problems involving indoor air quality in Albania. Out of the 12 schools
monitored by the WHO pilot surveys, the results conclude that the biggest concern is low temperature
and poor ventilation especially during the winter.

Charles Darwin s Chapter Summary
In this chapter, Darwin believed that variation is mostly due to reproduction and not environmental
aspects and use of habits, like most scientists recognized. Meanwhile, he states that the extensive use
of certain organs has made special body parts come to be. He supports his point by comparing the legs
of a ducks that walks and the wings of a duck that fly. In reproduction, particular variations are passed
down to an offspring by a parent, which are continued in following generations to come. This is the
reason why sometimes it later animals or plants offspring, there it certain extraordinary traits that
show up again. It is stated that it is unknown by scientist how the law of inheritance works with

Whereas he is also famous as Gandhiji in India and also around the world. I always read about him
everywhere and even studied a lot about him in our history classes. I still remember, the history class I
had in my 8th Grade was all about him. He is a pride to our nation and has a place in every Indians
heart. My maternal great grandmother was from the same village as Gandhiji and she met him a
couple of times which always gives me goosebumps. I heard a lot about him and a lot of other things
from my grandmother. So, I interviewed my maternal grandmother over Skype for this assignment. I
initiated my conversation with general greetings that we usually do. I decided to talk to her about an
event that took place on 12th of March 1930 which is known as the Dandi March, also known as the
Salt march or Salt Satyagraha, which was leaded by Mahatma Gandhi. I still cannot forget that
expression on her face when I asked her about her knowledge about the Salt Satyagraha, she was too
excited to tell me about the event. She informed me that it was a big march, it was a 24 day march.
Even ma ji (mom, my Great Grandmother) was a part of it, she added. She said that it was a rebel of
the local populace against the British officials mainly as they introduced taxation on salt production,
deemed sea salt reclamation activities illegal, and then repeatedly used force to stop it. Mahatma
Gandhi came up with this plan to break the British plan nonviolently,

Philosophy of Teaching Essay Assignment
During my philosophy of teaching, I need to be confident with students during course. I need to
encourage my students during course so that they have trust and ability to study. I have planned a
teaching style to teach students in both practice and theory. Health care depends on the clinical
practice and if you do not have this knowledge, you cannot work in the hospital and clinics. However,
some students do not choose to work in the hospital and wish to focus on the theory and education.
For example, when I graduated from college, I never planned to study at the master s level. However,
after working four years in the hospital setting, I decided to apply for a master s degree so that I could
become a professor. I need to understand about students circumstances, because already I was student.
In this case, I can teach and give significant information to my students. Therefore, I have the capacity
to deal with all students and teach them to high level in the future. I have to explain required
information about the subject and discuss necessary points during class for students. I should have
experience of facilitating

Treatment Of Recurrent Erythema Multiforme
Apremilast for Treatment of Recurrent Erythema Multiforme
Introduction
Recurrent erythema multiforme (EM) is an uncommon skin condition with unclear etiology
considered to be a hypersensitivity reaction presenting commonly in young adults with distinctive
targetoid skin lesions with or without mucosal lesions. These cases are typically treated with antiviral
therapies or immunosuppressive agents in more extreme cases. We present a case of recurrent EM in a
young adult that resolved completely after treatment with Otezla (apremilast), an oral medication
originally developed for the treatment of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
Case report
A 21 year old African American female with a history of recurrent skin lesions on lips, tongue and soft
palate for over ten years. She was initially diagnosed at age 6 with Behcet s syndrome due to presence
of recurrent oral and genital ulcers as well as joint pain and swelling. She stated that she has about six
episodes per year with recurrence after treatment. For acute episodes, she was given treatment with
prednisone for management of oral and genital lesions, which has been used intermittently. She was
additionally treated with colchicine, dapsone and hydroxychloroquine with no response. It is unclear
when these treatments were administered or for what duration the patient adhered to these regimens.
Lesions resolved completely with no new lesions after one month of therapy on Otezla. There has not
been a recurrence for 4 months.

The Positive And Social Changes During The Industrial...
Imagine waking up at 4:30 in the morning and working until 9:00 at night starting at the age of 10
every single day until you die in your 20s from illness. This was the reality for the thousands of
workers during the Industrial Revolution, a time of innovation spanning the 18th and 19th centuries,
which brought significant changes to society. Changes during this time impacted society in both
positive and negative ways. While the Industrial Revolution created conveniences and comforts for
some people in society, the costs outweighed the benefits because people suffered tremendously under
the burden of such rapid technological growth.
Filthy living conditions in industrial cities harmed the inhabitants. Due to the rapid growth of
industrialization, cities experienced a population increase of a few hundred thousand every few
decades as people looked for work. (Document 14) The crowded conditions could not properly
support so many people. In 1829, an English poet named Robert Southey described the British city of
Manchester by saying Imagine this multitude crowded together in narrow streets, the houses all built
of brick and blackened with smoke: frequent buildings among them as large as convents, without their
antiquity, without their beauty, without their holiness. Southey goes on to say how work surpassed
even the importance of the church. [W]hen the bell rings, it is to call the wretches to work instead of
their prayers. (Document 16) Witness accounts of the conditions

Analyzing The Thoughts Of Ancient Philosophers
Analyzing the Thoughts of Ancient Philosophers
3 Major Ideas from The Republic Books 1 5 The Republic is exemplary in showing the knowledge of
the philosophers of Socrates and Plato s day. Socrates argument of what justice is shows many
dynamics and layers within his mind. Socrates will never start a conversation with someone else
without being able to get a new thought completely fabricated from their own mind. He is a very
intelligent philosopher; proven by the fact that he can jump start a conversation and watch it go for
ages between many men while never giving his two cents. When the topic of what justice is comes up
between Socrates and the other men, he never once tells the men what he thinks during the first few
books of The Republic, he just has points to refute all of their suggestions. As stated in A Companion
to Socrates, Socrates impact on the world with his philosophical teaching was tremendous, and he
owes it all to the teaching habits and skills that he obtained throughout the years. (Ahbel) His
willingness to provide a topic and then watch it unfold between many other arguers was a quality that
allowed many students to learn from themselves, just through the help of Socrates. He wasn t the sort
of teacher that would talk at his students, he liked to have them scour their own brains and come up
with their own knowledge and ideas. In The Republic, Socrates demonstrates these skills specifically
toward a few major ideas. When Thrasymachus tells his idea

The Most Monumental Undertaking Of Modern Philosophy
Control is an often acknowledged concept in ancient philosophy, discussed by the likes of Epicurus
and Epictetus, among others. Often, control is articulated in regards to one s relationship with others
and their personal actions. Though the amount of things one can personally control is limited, these
things are paramount and essential for living a life that is at peace and that is tranquil. I will be arguing
that one s choices/actions are the most monumental undertaking of which can be controlled, and is the
ultimate contributor to happiness and equanimity. This state, known as ataraxia , should be used as a
constant guidance and reminder, perpetuated by virtue, of which decisions are correct or incorrect.
Ataraxia may be characterized as a state containing balanced contentment and repose, particularly of
the mental variety. Though many philosophers, including Epicurus, Epictetus, and Sextus Empiricus
address this said state of unperturbed ness, their interpretations of how to reach ataraxia differ slightly,
though all may be applied to my argument. In his The Skeptic Way, Sextus Empiricus discusses the
process of achievement of ataraxia through differentiating between natural goods and bads. When one
accepts that what is good and bad cannot be distinguished definitely, they must choose whether to
continue pursuit of this inquiry or accept an always indefinite solution. This choice determines the
path traveled either to tranquility or agitation.

Bradley Jones Case
Adam got an invitation from his friend to go to a baseball game. Adam is not familiar with the game
of baseball and has no knowledge of the game or know what happens at baseball games. Because he
immigrated to the United States. His friend purchased some seats just a few rows up from the field,
along the first base line. Majority of baseball stadiums have nets hung behind home plate and not
along the baselines. While enjoying the entertainment of the game.
Bradley Jones, a player got into an argument with the first base umpire who called him out because he
thought he was safe . Bradley got upset and threw his batting helmet to the ground. The helmet
bounced off the ground and flew into the stands, striking Adam on the side of the head causing serious
injury. Adam never saw the helmet coming be he was looking around the stadium.
Bradley Jones should not have been that upset. He should have left it up to the manager to handle that
situation. Bradley owe Adam a duty because as a player, Bradley duty is to act as a reasonable and
prudent person. Bradley was the one doing the action that injured Adam. Bradley breaches it because

  • 2. The Fool In King Lear Essay Authenticity of civility aside, words, no matter the motivation behind them, leave a lasting effect on the people who read or hear them. King Lear stresses how words can be used to victimize people behind a veneer of legitimacy. Regan, Goneril, and Edmund in the opening scenes use words as a tool to fulfill their agendas when the three use kind words to disguise their objectives. In Act I, Scene I, the sisters give Lear moving speeches to win over his love, but once he leaves their true personalities start to surface when they do not show Cordelia any sympathy for her banishment (Shakespeare, 24). This instance illustrates that even the most evil people can sound like a good person by choosing the right words in a particular situation. While ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The last words of Oswald the servant and the duke of Cornwall share similarities, despite the character s different statuses. Cornwall orders for the servant who stabbed him to be thrown outside without a proper burial, while Oswald asks to be buried. These speeches [refer] indirectly to the chthonic gods who have dictated that the dead body must covered with earth (Cohen), illuminating how both men view the gods in the midst of death. Oswald becomes god fearing after assisting Goneril s schemes, while Cornwall thinks he can dictate who should get honored by the gods. Lear s utters more personal dying words than Oswald and Cornwall: Do you see this? Look on her. Look, her lips. Look there, look there (Shakespeare, 308), her referring to an imaginary Cordelia. Unlike the dramatic deaths of Oswald and Cornwall, Lear dies subtly, so much that the people present mistake his death for fainting. The emotional intensity of Lear s death resonates in Edgar as his reaffirms the theme of genuine words when he recites the last speech of the play: Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say (Shakespeare, 310). Shakespeare uses the last words of secondary characters to communicate his themes of mortality, while he uses Lear s to show his emotional progression from the start of the ... • 3. Programming Models Of Wsn System Research Proposal Title Programming Models of WSN System: A State of the Art Survey Introduction There are a lot scenarios need different sensor nodes to collaborate and integrated on the air into networks to facilitate applications. The scaled down censoring system presented below is an example of those wireless sensor networks (WSN). In this system sensors are different between corridors area and manufacturing area, since they need different precise level. Those sensors combined together by different wireless AP and provide services to different applications inside and outside the plant. This is where virtualization shines. Virtualization creates an uniformed environment in heterogeneous sensor networks. It bridge the gap between infrastructure and applications. And the network and sensor virtualization can achieved by the middleware. Middleware hide unnecessary details and complexity of the underlying heterogeneous infrastructures, like different sensor nodes and different wireless AP in the presented scenario. Software designs and programming approaches for the middleware design should facilitate the balance between communication and computing. Energy awareness, routing, efficient resource utilization and data delivery have always been the key parameters for an efficient programming model for WSN. Motivating Scenario Fig 1. • 4. Gullah Or Sea Island Creole English Background information about the African languages that contributed to Gullah. Gullah (or Geechee or Sea Island Creole English) formed separately on the Sea Islands off the coast of the Carolinas, Georgia, and Florida throughout the 18th and 19th centuries among enslaved Western Africans. They developed a language that combined grammatical, phonological, and lexical features of the non standard English varieties spoken by white slaveholders and farmers in that region of the United States along with those from numerous Western and Central African languages. According to this view, Gullah developed separately, or distinctly, from African American English and varieties of English spoken in the South. Why was English first introduced? English was first introduced in these sea islands and surrounding areas due to the large amount of West African slaves that were taken from their home country that had many different dialects (Wolof, Malinke, Mandinka, Bambara to name a few). Due to the difference in dialects a similar language was needed for them communicate so English was used as it was a prevalent and accessible language commonly spoken by slaveholders. The Southern American English Variety. Gullah developed from Southern American English. • 5. Historical Development Of Play Research In this assignment, I am going to explore the concept of play by investigating the historical development of play, also considering the social and cultural aspects which has led to the appropriate practice today. First of all, I m going to talk about why play is important. The importance of play was recognised in the Children Act 2004 which sets out five outcomes within the Every Child Matters (ECM) framework. These include being healthy, staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution and economic wellbeing. There are various definitions of play and playing. • 6. European And Native American Beliefs The history of Native American religion is influenced by exposure to Europeans, the beliefs of different tribes, and traditions that were passed down orally. When the Europeans came to America they impacted the Native American religions in many different ways. The Native Americans had to adapt to Europeans, but they also kept to their original ways. Even before the adaptations, the Native Americans and Europeans had similarities including: believing one god and one main evil spirit, believing in an afterlife, and they both believed in the immortality of the soul. Even though the Natives believed in one god, Master Spirit , unlike the Europeans, they believed that the god could assume a variety of forms and both genders; Native Americans also believed in many lesser spirits. Other differences were that Natives passed their beliefs down verbally instead of documenting everything in a book or books. As a result of exposure to Europeans, Native American traditions gradually intermixed with Christian beliefs. One example of the influence of Christianity on Native American rituals is the adaptations to the Sun Dance. Before the Sun Dance was primarily practiced in the Upper Plains and the Rocky Mountains and performed at the summer solstice. The dance was often practiced differently for each tribe, but the Eagle, helping bring body and spirit in harmony, is an important symbol for all tribes. • 7. Rhetorical Analysis Of Salman Rushdie By Scott Russell... In response to an essay by Salman Rushdie, author Scott Russell Sanders critiques Rushdie s assertion that to be a migrant is, perhaps, to be the only species of human being free of the shackles of naturalism (Rushdie). Sanders believes that constant movement and migration results in disastrous consequences for the earth and for ourselves, and he argues that settling is essential for humans (Sanders). In this passage, Sanders uses and inductive structure beginning with broad examples of American romanticism of transient lifestyle, and ends with his thesis, leading the reader down a path directly to his counter of Rushdie s claim. Furthermore, Sanders provides historical examples to logically show the benefits of making a home in a restless world (Sanders). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nevertheless, Sanders counters this comparison by presenting evidence that refutes Rushdie s ideals. Concluding this passage, Sanders establishes his thesis: by settling in, we have a chance of making a durable home for ourselves, our fellow creatures, and our descendants. (Sanders). • 8. Soviet Expansion Into Eastern Europe Security has been disputed to be another driving factor, and possibly the main factor to the cause of the cold war as it is interlinked both with ideology and the nuclear race. For instance, ideology and security both influenced the same event, which in this case was the creation of the Eastern bloc. (Heywood, 2014) stated that Soviet expansion into Eastern Europe was seen as defensive rather than aggressive , motivated essentially by a buffer zone desire. Security was an important factor because the Soviets believed that by having the eastern bloc, they would be protected from Germany as they had been invaded twice since 1917. Stalin wanted to ensure that future attacks will not happen again. (Daddow, 2013) highlights how states are primarily concerned with their own survival and therefore prioritise military and security concerns . As a result this factor has great importance because it highlights how misperceptions about the soviets desire to protect itself from future invasion had led to several missed chances of peace. (Heywood, 2014) shows how the US was concerned that the creation of a soviet bloc was an expression of Russian imperial ambitions. Robert Jervis in Security dilemma states that states can neither neglect the possibility that others will become aggressive in the future nor credibly guarantee that they themselves remain peaceful . The theme of anthem, that individuality must be protected, is widespread and prominent, referenced throughout the book, from the viewpoint of the main character. This will go over the character, the time, and the setting in the book, helping to show and understand the theme because the author can convey plot points and themed information better through the components of the book themselves, rather than outright stating it in the book. The character helps understand the theme in the story, that individuality must be treasured in our society, because it shows what the emotional and physical links to the society in the book, as well as the mental states and feelings influencing the text. The main character is named Equality 7 252 . He described himself as 6 , and he had always been more interested in the scientific attributes of nature, rather than the job at hand. He held little regard for the rules of the society, as shown by his disregard to law. The laws say that none among men may be alone, ever and at any time, for this is the great transgression and the root of all evil. But we have broken many laws, (Rand ) This character helped understand the theme in the story, that individuality must be treasured in our society, since the character is , while struggling to maintain his own individuality. ...and we would work for our brothers, gladly and willingly, ...What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?... (Rand). This quote helps support the theme in the novel by showing Equality s individuality in different parts of the book. At the beginning, he denied his individuality and tried to blend in with the conformist society, while at the end, he accepts and treasures his individuality. This relates to the theme by showing that his individuality is treasured and valued by him. The character and the setting work together to help find the theme in multiple ways. He begins by showing her his decisions as a young adult, optimistic and confident in time, to prepare for her. Time goes by, he is now middle aged and insecure of his appearance, now in fear of her rejection and unsure if he has missed his window. He defined theatre to be the actor s ability to hold up a mirror to nature and portray what is actually happening within society. During the time of Shakespeare, the main aim in theatre was to create a night of entertainment, where society could escape from the issues of the day. However, Shakespeare s message of reflection would take hold in the 19th century as the primary purpose for theatre and evoke a modernization within theatre that insisted it be a reflection of reality. During the 1890s, two strategies developed in an effort to restore the Celtic heritage in Ireland, the Irish Literary Movement and the Neo Gaelic revival. It is for this reason that an Irish Literary Renaissance began spreading through Ireland. This renaissance was influenced by an increase in the national interest for Gaelic legends and myths. The revival of the old Gaelic heritage served as inspiration to the growing political nationalism. At the close of the 19th century, Nationalist movements were spreading throughout most of Europe. In Ireland, the nationalist movement was calling for separation from British oppression. Ireland had been under English rule for over 300 years and saw itself ready for home rule. In 2008, banks were under pressure to sell the assets on their books more broadly. Like many others, Citigroup had suffered unprecedented losses and write downs and was facing the prospect of having even more considerable losses. (See Case pp. 2 3.) That a man s blood, sweat, and tears will be all worth the struggle. The Roman poet Horace even once said that adversity can bring out talents which in a successful environment, would not exist. With all these assurances that difficult circumstances will meritable, it is hard to picture Horace s statement being challenged. However, in the books, The Jungle, and How the Other Half Lives, adversity clearly never led to any such benefits or talents being drawn out as Horace mentioned. For example, within, The Jungle, by Upton Sinclair, Jurgis, a Lithuanian immigrant, came to America with his family for the American Dream. Eventually, they fall into fiscal trouble, and Jurgis old father, Antennas, is forced to perform grueling work until he dies from it. Additionally, Jurgis struggles to pay for his high interest house, and instead of eliciting a talent, Jurgis elicits harsh resentment for his family. One by one, most of his loved ones die because Jurgis is no longer strong enough to support them. • 32. When It Comes To The Fourth Amendment And Searching A... When it comes to the Fourth Amendment and searching a person s car or their person, there are a few factors to take into consideration. In order for an officer to search an individual s car, they must have consent, otherwise the search is unreasonable and whatever evidence seized could be inadmissible in the court of law. However, it is possible to conduct a search without consent and seize evidence without a warrant but there ought to be probable cause or reasonable suspicion. The two differ in the sense that reasonable suspicion is based off past experiences and expertise. Probable cause is needed for a search to take place; conversely if there is no probable cause but an officer has enough reasonable suspicion, they still are allowed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, in Minnesota v. Dickerson (1993), if an officer can readily identify an object from a pat down, they can use their discretion and experience and retrieve it if they know it to be true. If they are unsure and take it, whatever was seized is inadmissible in court. In legal terms, this is known as the plain feel doctrine. This allows a police officer to seize objects during a legitimate pat down search if by plain feel he reasonably believes it to be contraband. Just because the plain feel doctrine has been established does not granted officers the right to touch, it simply permits an officer to interpret tactile sensations to identify an object during a pat down (Poulin, 1997 pg. 23). There is a strong correlation between the Fourth Amendment and racial profiling. I asked a police officer what they believed was the main reason for a lawsuit against an officer and they said violations in regards to the Fourth Amendment followed by failure to act. Take the United States v. Brignoni Ponce case for instance. A police officer pulled over a drive that looked to be Mexican because he believed them to be an illegal immigrant. The problem was that officers were roving the border and stopping individuals for no reason other than to see if they were illegal immigrants. The Fourth Amendment held that a patrolman is prohibited to crowd the Mexican border just to stop and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Success is a moment that must be worked for first. It takes a lot of work to be an NFL running back. The mixture of blood, sweat, tears, hard work, passion, pain, adversity, and a love for the game is the combination necessary to have a career as an NFL running back. The job description for a pro running back is a little bit different than the average office job. As a professional running back athletes have to be able to put themselves through intense training through the heat of the summer, train and practice to improve strength and abilities, athletes have to be able to attend scheduled meetings and practices( Athlete Professional Athlete ). Some special skills and abilities that are necessary to be a successful running back involve elusiveness, speed, toughness, grit, durability, and a passion(Callaway). These experiments included testing the freezing point depression of NaCl in solution at two different concentrations, testing for the H of an aqueous NaCl solution, and combining NaCl with MgCl2 in an aqueous solution to test for freezing point depression. Through these various experiments we found NaCl to be the best deicer for our region due to its proficient freezing point depression and its cost efficiency. • 35. Anselm s Ontological Argument On The Existence Of God Anselm s Ontological argument sets out to not only prove God s existence, but to show that God s existence is self evident. Similar to other ontological arguments, it uses a priori knowledge to argue its validity, meaning that the propositions made are derived from internal reasoning instead of sense experience. The argument begins with Anselm defining the term God as that, than which nothing greater can be conceived (pg.26). Although simple, once this term is accepted Anselm believes he has successfully proven the existence of God. This becomes clearer with further analysis. If God is a being that, than which nothing greater can be conceived, it naturally follows that God would possess all properties of greatness. An example of this would be omnipotence. Omnipotence would be such a property because it is greater to have ultimate power than to have limited power, therefore, God being the greatest conceivable being would possess the property of omnipotence. Likewise, it is greater for something to exist in both reality and the mind, than to exist only in the mind. Thus, just as omnipotence was ascribed to God so must the property of existence, for if God did not exist, he would be lacking a great making property, and consequently would be only a great being, but not the greatest conceivable being. Existence being am inherent property of God s essence is why Anselm believes God s existence to be self evident. However, as Anselm states the fool has said in his heart, There ... Do you even use any of the stuff you learned in school in your today life? I very much believe that the homework given for school is honestly inconsiderate, time consuming, and it s unethical. I stand by these factors for many reasons. As much as I see why it s given, I do indeed believe that the reasons pushed against it are more important than the latter. Regardless, here is my reasoning of why homework is inconsiderate to students, time consuming for them, and unethical to their lives. I wish that parents that make their kids do homework would take a second and look at what they re doing. And if that doesn t seem beneficial to them, they are being inconsiderate as those kids, young or older, are being piled with work that they will never use in the rest of their lives. Especially if that parent knows if their family is struggling and still sending a child to school to do things that will not benefit their family. Perhaps that family is struggling with money, food, relationships, even lack of a shelter for them to stay. Most parents get this thing in their head that if their child doesn t do all this work, then they will fail in life, but that child is being filled with knowledge that makes them confused on what they actually want to do. Imagine waking up at 4:30 in the morning and working until 9:00 at night starting at the age of 10 every single day until you die in your 20s from illness. This was the reality for the thousands of workers during the Industrial Revolution, a time of innovation spanning the 18th and 19th centuries, which brought significant changes to society. Changes during this time impacted society in both positive and negative ways. While the Industrial Revolution created conveniences and comforts for some people in society, the costs outweighed the benefits because people suffered tremendously under the burden of such rapid technological growth. Filthy living conditions in industrial cities harmed the inhabitants. Due to the rapid growth of industrialization, cities experienced a population increase of a few hundred thousand every few decades as people looked for work. Analyzing The Thoughts Of Ancient Philosophers Analyzing the Thoughts of Ancient Philosophers 3 Major Ideas from The Republic Books 1 5 The Republic is exemplary in showing the knowledge of the philosophers of Socrates and Plato s day. Socrates argument of what justice is shows many dynamics and layers within his mind. Socrates will never start a conversation with someone else without being able to get a new thought completely fabricated from their own mind. He is a very intelligent philosopher; proven by the fact that he can jump start a conversation and watch it go for ages between many men while never giving his two cents. When the topic of what justice is comes up between Socrates and the other men, he never once tells the men what he thinks during the first few books of The Republic, he just has points to refute all of their suggestions. As stated in A Companion to Socrates, Socrates impact on the world with his philosophical teaching was tremendous, and he owes it all to the teaching habits and skills that he obtained throughout the years. This state, known as ataraxia , should be used as a constant guidance and reminder, perpetuated by virtue, of which decisions are correct or incorrect. Ataraxia may be characterized as a state containing balanced contentment and repose, particularly of the mental variety. Though many philosophers, including Epicurus, Epictetus, and Sextus Empiricus address this said state of unperturbed ness, their interpretations of how to reach ataraxia differ slightly, though all may be applied to my argument. In his The Skeptic Way, Sextus Empiricus discusses the process of achievement of ataraxia through differentiating between natural goods and bads. When one accepts that what is good and bad cannot be distinguished definitely, they must choose whether to continue pursuit of this inquiry or accept an always indefinite solution. This choice determines the path traveled either to tranquility or agitation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
