Hip Hop And Its Impact On African American Culture
In the 70 s a new genre of music was created in South Bronx, New York. That genre is known as Hip
Hop. Over the years Hip Hop has gained popularity becoming arguably one of the most influential
forms of music to date. Hip Hop artist or Mc s used it to express their views on a multitude of topics to
their fans. These topics range wildly from the more serious subjects like the everyday life of people
living in the projects, personal obstacles they had to endure, and politics. As well as, more lighthearted
topics like enjoying your time in a night club or hanging out with friends. For those reasons, I believe
Hip Hop is representative of the African American community.
Even after 25 years hip hop has continued to reflect issues that are going on in black communities. I
think that hip hop has transformed from just a genre of music to more along the line of being a culture.

Those two points race and background are often used against blacks to often undermined or belittle
ones character unjustly. Even after former President Obama quote If I had a son, he d look like
Trayvon. In which people thought Obama was trying to entice a racial divide. I believe President
Obama was simply trying to say that the event leading up to Trayvon death could have happened to
any African American son. That notion was important because young African Americans are often
viewed as hoodlums or thugs. For that reason, I think that if artist continue to make songs with lyrics
like that in them young African American children will understand how things should be. Things like
understanding that you should judge individuals by their character and not by how they look or where

Quadratic Residues Essay
An Identity based Encryption Scheme based on Quadratic Residues Introduction: In Public Key
Crypto system, it is required to know the Public Key of Receiver to encrypt the messages. So that
receiver can decrypt the message using his/her own private key. This system needs to maintain
directories which holds Public Keys of each user. To eliminate the need of maintaining such
directories, this paper suggests computing the public key using receiver s identity such as Email
address. However, implementation of such system which is secure and practical, is difficult. The
system uses Quadratic Residues modulo a large composite integer. [2] What is Quadratic Residues? If

Hence, a is square modulo of M. Also, P and Q are congruent to 3 mod 4, ( 1/P)=( 1/Q)= 1 Thus, a or a
will be Quadratic Residues modulo P and Q. Only authority can determine the square root of modulo
M and provide it to Alice. Here, we call it r r=a^((M+5 (P+Q))/8) mod M Where, r^2=a mod M or
r^2= a mod M If Bob wants to send data to Alice, he will generate a Transport key and perform
Symmetric Key Encryption using that key. Then, he sends it to Alice bit by bit. Let s say, x is the
single bit of transport key, coded as +1 or 1. Bob will choose a value t at a random modulo M, such
that Jacobi Symbol (t/M)=x Then, he sends s=(t+a/t)mod M to Alice Alice recovers the bit x as
follows, s+2r=t (1+r/t)* (1+r/t) mod M Also, it follows Jacobi Symbol ((s+2r)/M)=(t/M)=x Here,
Alice knows the value of r, using that she will calculate value of x Bob need to double up the Key data
as he is not aware whether Alice uses root of a or a. He will select random t to send x bits, and send s=
(t a/t)mod M. There is no way to avoid sending this extra amount of data. [2] Practical Implementation
Aspects: System is not very much expensive in terms of computation. If transport key is K bits long,
then Alice need to compute K Jacobi Symbols and Bob will need to compute K divisions mod M and
K Jacobi Symbols. Issue: Each bit of Transport key requires size up to M for bandwidth. Bob Does not
know whether Alice uses square root of a or a, hence, he must

Western Europe During The 16th Century
During the 16th century western Europe experienced a rise in even stronger nation states with intense
religious beliefs and an increased desire to politically control populaces across the continent. This was
especially evident in the Low countries where people were separated between Catholics and
Protestants. Resentment between these two groups escalated with the Dutch Revolt and in 1579 the
seven northern, mainly protestant, provinces declared their independence from King Phillip the second
of Spain and became the Dutch Republic. Conflict between Catholics and Protestants did not only
occur in the Low countries, France also fought numerous wars in their country over religion mainly
between the aristocratic House of Bourbon and House of Guise. ... Show more content on

This left his ten year old son king with Catherine De Medici, his mother, as regent. Catherine was a
devout Catholic and wanted the Monarchy to stay under Catholic control. So she arranged the
wedding of Catholic, Marguerite de Valois, and Huguenot, Henry of Navarre. At the wedding they
brought numerous Huguenot nobles to Paris, so political and religious tensions elevated. Gaspard De
Coligny a Huguenot leader was shot by a hired assassin from the House of Guise. However, the bullet
merely tore off his finger and shattered his elbow. After the botched assassination, Catherine De
Medici and other Catholic nobles feared Huguenot retaliation. To eliminate future political opposition
she ordered her son to demand the execution of Huguenot leaders. These attacks would become
known as St. Batholomew s Day massacre. Catholics sided with the House of Guise and protestants
sided with the House of Bourbon. For weeks Catholic mobs attacked Huguenots in urban centers and
the the countryside ultimately leaving 5,000 30,000 dead. The massacre was a turning point in the
French Wars of Religion. The Huguenot political force was severely devastated by the death of their
aristocratic leaders. Yet these massacres ultimately settled nothing, it just created a larger international

Adjustments to Southwest Airlines Operations
SOUTHWEST OPERATIONS
Although in recent history Southwest Airline did some adjustments to its operation, company
maintained its philosophy and stayed true to its original strategy. When company was established in
1971 its primary focus was to stick to short haul trips, point to point flights, fleet only consisting of
Boeing737s, high frequency flights, low fares, and no international flights. Operating in no frills
philosophy resulted in lower fixed cost which enabled Southwest Airlines opportunity for growth and
created the competitive advantage.
Southwest Airlines also had only a limited participation in computerized reservation systems,
channeling travel agents and customers to book flights through its reservation center. Taking
advantage of technology Southwest was the first national carrier to sell seats from a home page on the
Internet, reaching 81% online bookings via southwest.com in 2010.
COPYCAT LEAGUE
Pioneering services such as providing the ticketless travel helped efficiency and lowered operational
cost. Efforts to lower the fixed cost proved to be a successful formula in achieving competitive edge
for Southwest Airlines. Southwest s success did create numerous imitators. In earlier days, all
competitors eventually went under. Today however, several airlines provide stern competition. JetBlue
Airways based at JFK Airport and Allegiant Travel, successful and geographically diversified

Taking a Look at Bacterial Gastroenteritis
1. The diagnosis is bacterial gastroenteritis, commonly known as food poisoning or the stomach flu .
Gastroenteritis is inflammation and swelling of the gastrointestinal track. Gastroenteritis can usually
caused by ingesting food contaminated with some bacteria. Furthermore, some common causes of
gastroenteritis include, shigella infection, cholera, and salmonella infection. There are many
symptoms of gastroenteritis, including diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain and vomiting (Guerrant,
Bobak, 1991). In addition, vomiting and diarrhea can cause dehydration, and children are likely to get
dehydrated more quickly. Thus, it is crucial to look for the signs of dehydration, such as dry mouth,
dry skin and decreased urine output. The doctor initiates the diagnosis by performing a abdominal or
rectal examination in order to eliminate the possibilities of pelvic abscesses and inflammatory bowel
disease (Guerrant, Bobak, 1991). In addition, the doctor uses a stool culture to determine what bacteria
are responsible for causing the gastroenteritis (Guerrant, Bobak, 1991).
2. The organism responsible for this disease is a strain of E.coli called E.coli 0157:H7. E.coli is a gram
negative rod that inhabit the human gastrointestinal track and mostly harmless. However, the strain
0157 can produce powerful toxins that can lead to severe cases of food poisoning (Gould, 2010). The
bacteria were first identified as a cause of foodborne illness in 1982 when an outbreak of

Utilitarianism, Virtue And Care Ethics
The three ethical theories I will discuss from Chapter 1 include: utilitarianism, virtue and care ethics.
First, the utilitarianism is moral standard and a theory of action by humans that are morally right in
action. Utilitarianism is an action that is morally right if its consequences are more favorable. One
way for businesses , as our reading suggests (Fieser Moseley, 2012), is make a list of all the good and
bad for any particular act. If the good outweighs the bad then that action should occur. If the bad
outweighs the good, then the action should stop. Utilitarianism theory attempts to keep things on the
positive, happier side of the spectrum. A company using this theory is probably functioning well due
to their morale analysis of actions related to safe products, good quality products and customer care, a
fair price, and fair and equal treatment to their employees. In addition, because utilitarianism is a
morale standard, a company would be environmentally conscious and find ways to help the
community and the world. A company would work at making their products in an environmentally
safe way, recycle surplus and make their products within the United States to support the economy. A
company would also look at balancing goods over harm produced to the environment or people.
Lastly, if a company were to be very successful, they should donate some of their proceeds back into
the community (environmentally or local community support) or employees (bonuses,

Mark Twain Research Paper
Mark Twain is an American author who has shaped the American literature world in a way no other
author has. Twain grew up in Hannibal Missouri, he used his childhood memories to write his novels
(Pfluger 6). Twain s writing was based off of events that happened to him throughout his boyhood,
using friends and family as models for his characters (Pfluger 6). His writing has influenced young
adult fiction and is used as a template to modern young adult novels (Greebblatt). In recent years his
novels have been seen as controversial and banned from many school settings because of the
controversial content. His most controversial novel and also must successful, The Adventures of

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is what has made his impact on writing so prominent, it is the most
taught novel in American Schools up until recent years (Fishkin). It has sold in excess of twenty
million copies worldwide (Hacht 67). His writing styles has changed the writing world. He sparked an
interest in human behavior and conversation with other American authors (Vallin 26). He has
influenced generations of American writers All modern American Literature comes from one book by
Mark Twain, called Huckleberry Finn (Greenblatt). He freed up literature by his use of lasting humor
that lasts generations (Greenblatt). He changed the face of fiction in America and his novels served as
a Declaration of Independence from the genteel English novel tradition which allowed a different kind
of writing to happen (Fishkin). Lastly, his novels and speeches are used as staples among speech

The Future of Human Evolution
The Future of Human Evolution

Darwinism and Evolution
12 6 96
Evolution, the science of how populations of living organisms change over time in response to their
environment, is the central unifying theme in biology today. Evolution was first explored in its semi
modern form in Charles Darwin s
1859 book, Origin of Species by means of Natural Selection. In this book, Darwin laid out a strong
argument for evolution. He postulated that all species have a common ancestor from which they are
descended. As populations of species moved into new habitats and new parts of the world, they faced
different environmental conditions. Over time, these populations accumulated modifications, or
adaptations, that allowed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first step in understand evolution in present terms is to mention genetic engineering (including
genetic drift). The first step to understanding genetic engineering, and embracing its possibilities for
society, is to obtain a rough knowledge base of its history and method. The basis for altering the
evolutionary process is dependent on the understanding of how individuals pass on characteristics to
their offspring. Genetics achieved its first foothold on the secrets of nature s evolutionary process
when an Austrian monk named Gregor
Mendel developed the first laws of heredity. Using these laws, scientists studied the characteristics of
organisms for most of the next one hundred years following Mendel s discovery. These early studies
concluded that each organism has two sets of character determinants, or genes (Stableford 16). For
instance, in regards to eye color, a child could receive one set of genes from his father that were
encoded one blue, and the other brown. The same child could al so receive two brown genes from his
mother. The conclusion for this inheritance would be the child has a three in four chance of having
brown eyes, and a one in three chance of having blue eyes (Stableford 16). Genes are transmitted
through chromosomes which reside in the nucleus of every living organism s cells. Each chromosome
is made up of fine strands of deoxyribonucleic acids, or DNA. The information carried

Analysis Of Papyrus Original Writing
OH! HUMAN! I M VERY SORRY! Papyrus yelped and rushed over to you, a wash cloth in his
gloved hand.
The kitchen walls were covered in red (You guessed it was sauce) and a boiling pot of water sat on the
stove, with several boxes of empty boxes of pasta sitting dangerously close to the flame.
He started to rub the sauce off your face, getting incredibly close. You felt your cheeks flushed at the
proximity.
HU (Y/N)? ARE YOU ALRIGHT? YOUR FACE IS INCREDIABLY RED, ARE YOU SICK?
Papyrus slipped a glove off and placed the back of his hand on your forehead.
I I m okay, I p promise! You managed to get out. Papyrus stepped away from you and opened his
mouth to speak but from behind him you saw smoke.
Papyrus! Fire! You yelped and pushed past the skeleton, you and began running over to the stove and
cabinet which were in flames. A box had caught fire and ignited the rest of them which in turn caught
the cabinets on fire.
Instinctively you grabbed the pot of boiling water and flung it onto the fire, sending scalding water
and pasta all over the kitchen and onto you. You felt an intense pain shoot through your hands as the
water splashed onto you, yelping, you jumped back only to slip on the water.
You closed your eyes and braced yourself for impact with the ground but it never came.
Boney arms were wrapped around you keeping you from hitting the ground. Papyrus looked down at
you, concern in his eyes as he gently picked you up as if you weighed nothing. Your arms and hands

Reflective Conflict
Conflicts are present in our everyday lives, some big and some small. The degree to which they
impact our relationships largely depends on who is involved and what each party s expectations are.
Conflicts can either go onto a constructive or destructive path depending on how the parties involved
handle the given situation or problem. I am currently experiencing a destructive conflict with two of
my roommates and that is what I will be focusing on for this critical analysis paper. Folger, Poole, and
Stutman (2013), define conflict as, the interaction of interdependent people who perceive
incompatibility and the possibility of inference from others as a result of this incompatibility (p. 4).
Using this definition, I will break down my current conflict in order to describe and analyze it using a
variety of concepts and theories. I live in a suite on campus with four other people which consists of
myself, my friend whom I have known since freshman year, her boyfriend, and two other girls who we
did not know prior to moving in. Within a few weeks of being here, my friend blew something very
minor that happened with one of the other girls out of proportion. Threatening text messages were sent
which led to loud, in person arguments. These instances led to a meeting with our RA, and later, a
meeting with the Hall Director and the RA because things escalated and got out of hand. More
problems have arisen, but this time between my friend, her boyfriend, and myself. A few

Essay about Agricultural and Ecological Role of the Honey Bee
Honey bee foragers perform waggle dances to inform other foragers in the hive about the location,
presence, and the odor of beneficial food sources and new hive sites. The aim of the study in review
was to investigate how the characteristics of waggle dances for natural food sources and
environmental factors affect dance follower behavior. Due to the assumption that food source
profitability tends to decrease with increasing foraging distance, a hypothesis that the attractiveness of
a dance, measured as the number of dance followers and their attendance, decreases with increasing
distance to the projected food location was formed. In addition to the hypothesis, it was assumed that

Apis mellifera also has a strong impact on ecology through pollination (Levin, 1983). The western
honey bee has many features that allow it to survive and thrive. It also has a major impact on its
environment and human beings.
The western honey bee uses different methods of communication to correspond different information.
There are two main hypotheses to explain how worker bees known as foragers recruit other workers.
The hypotheses are known as the dance language theory and the odor plume theory. The theories differ
in that the dance theory shows an important role of odor in recruitment and the odor theory claims that
the dance is essentially irrelevant and that communication relies on odor alone (Murlis et al., 1992).
Most scientific studies support the dance theory. The western honey bee workers communicate
different types of information through dance (Waddington, 1982).
By dancing, information about the direction and distance to nectar and pollen, water sources, or new
housing locations can be shared. Workers who have scouted out food dance the waggle dance or figure
eight dance when the food is farther than 75 meters from the hive. The waggle dance has two
components. A straight run is used to convey information about the direction of the food. The speed at
which the dance is repeated indicates how far away the food is (Michelsen et al., 1986). Scout bees

The Ebola Virus
The Ebola Virus
A virus is an ultramicroscopic infectious organism that, having no independent metabolic activity, can
replicate only within a cell of another host organism. A virus consists of a core of nucleic acid, either
RNA or DNA, surrounded by a coating of antigenic protein and sometimes a lipid layer surrounds it as
well. The virus provides the genetic code for replication, and the host cell provides the necessary
energy and raw materials. There are more than 200 viruses that are know to cause disease in humans.

the hospital got sick and died. This outbreak infected 318 with a death rate of 93% (Le

became of it. The most recent case recorded was the infamous breakout in Kikwit, Zaire. This
breakout had the world in an uproar about the possibility of this virus spreading out globally. This
outbreak appeared to have started with a patient who had surgery in Kikwit on April 10,
1995. Members of the surgical team then developed symptoms similar to those of a viral hemorrhagic

The most frequent symptoms at the onset were fever (94%), diarrhea (80%), and server weakness
(74%); other symptoms included dysphagia (41%) and hiccups (15%). Clinical signs of bleeding
occurred in 38% of cases (JAMA 274: 373). The World Heath Organization declared on
August 24, 1995 that the outbreak of Ebola Zaire in Kikwit was officially over after killing 244 of its

Essay on How to Stop Candida Yeast Infections
Alcohol is prepared through fermentation process using yeasts, and can yeild candida infections and
allergies as an outcome. Therefore, intake of wines, beers and ciders can be the primary reason of
candida infection and should be the number one thing to quit, which could be quite challenging for
majority who suffer from yeast infections. I have mentioned this in other parts of this book as well.
Patients with candida have to give away their love for chocolates and candies, and discontinue with
bread and alcohol till the problem is totally cured. Patients immunity system degrades due to the
propagation of the yeast in the body.

Problems of yeast infections in children
When the yeast syndrome is not correctly and timely detected in candida infected kid by a medical
practitioner (who does not comprehend or well informed about candida), he/she may misinterpret the
case as the kid patient is over active and has low level of learning capacity. A well known pediatric,
Dr.William Crook, the author of The Yeast Syndrome observed that his young patients recovered
notably as soon as their overgrown yeast is treated and they resume back to a healthy and playful life.
It is a sorry state of affairs that most of the child specialist doctors do not have enough knowledge and
expertise to diagnose child intestinal dybiosis to treat the illness properly, as Dr.Crook did.
Candida affected children suffer from numerous allergic disorders that may have impact on many
other areas as well.

Comparative of Henrik Ibsen´s A Doll´s House and...
Within one s lifetime, the mark to finding oneself is being able to overcome hardships and difficulties
in order to unravel the full potential concealed within them. From being manipulated and deceived,
this manages to bring about an ability hidden within oneself that can only be triggered by experiencing
what it is like to be a victim of deception. In A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsen and As You Like It by
William Shakespeare, each author entraps their protagonists with the role of being manipulative or the
victim of being manipulated to further enhance the author s purpose of revealing or unlocking the
hidden potential that arose within the characters. Throughout A Doll s House, Torvald views Nora s
actions as being deceiving not only towards him but also towards her family. However, Nora gain her
perspective on her own actions and begins observing it differently than Torvald s. The play states, It
was me they told that his life was in danger...well, well, I thought, you ve got to be saved somehow.
And then I thought of a way , (Ibsen 35 36). Within Nora s and Mrs. Linde s private conversation,
Nora conveys that her manipulation of money revealed how she deceives her husband even though it
was in good intent to save his life. In addition, this demonstrates Nora s willingness to think about
others, such as her husband, before realizing for herself that there were going to be consequences for
her later on. Within the play, Nora states, You have never understood me. A

Cooperation And The Requirement Of Stronger Enforcement
cooperation and the requirement of stronger enforcement or more systematic dispute settlement
mechanism. My second hypothesis is that international institutions or treaties of members of
significantly asymmetric national capability will have a stronger dispute settlement mechanism. That
is to say, In other words, an institution that contains asymmetry of power in terms of national capacity,
military capacity, economic capability, and legal resources should have stronger DSMs. In this
situation, powerful states might seek for stronger DSMs for gaining advantage within institutions. The
underlying logic of this idea, based on Allee and Elsig is that many DSMs allow for both diplomatic
and legal dispute settlement, so powerful states can benefit from having a menu of dispute settlement
options that allows them to forum shop even within treaties. (Allee 97) Also, for weaker countries,
stronger DSMs can give weaker countries the equal chance to argue with more powerful countries
under certain framework. Strong DSMs provide relatively weaker countries such as Mexico has more
capability to confront with more powerful countries and boost their chance to win the confrontation.
To prove this hypothesis, I will find asymmetric countries in size and compare the agreements of these
asymmetric countries to some symmetric countries. The expected conclusion should be that agreement
with more heterogeneous countries would have stronger DSM. There are many existing cases can

Characterization In A Classic Novel Essay
Characterization in a Classic Novel
Mary Shelly s Frankenstein is the story of a scientist, Victor Frankenstein, and his quest to create life
from death. Frankenstein s experiment goes dreadfully wrong and he is forced to flee from the
monster he created. Throughout this novel, Frankenstein is characterized by his extreme intelligence,
skepticism and withdrawn behavior, and remorse.
In the beginning of this novel, it is clearly stated that Victor has a love for knowledge. It was the
secrets of heaven and earth that I desired to learn; and whether it was the outward nature and the
mysterious soul of man that occupies me, still my inquiries were directed to the metaphysical, or ...

He does not tell his family or friend about his experiment and keeps this a secret even to his grave.
Victor becomes aware of how withdrawn he has become and sees an, ... insurmountable barrier placed
between me and my fellow men, (151). He works on his creation day and night and is so anxious that
even he, ... grew alarmed at the wreck that I perceived that I had become, (55).
As soon as Frankenstein s monster comes to life, ... horror and disgust filled his heart, (56). After
running from the monster for years, Frankenstein realizes that his monster has been killing people
close to him. Frankenstein immediately takes the blame for the deaths and will do anything to stop the
monster s actions. Victor reluctantly agrees to make a female companion for his monster. He begins to
create another monster but destroys her because he can not bear the thought of, setting loose upon the
earth a demon whose delight is in death and wretchedness, (160). Victor chases the monster for years
in hopes that he will end the monster s life in retribution for killing his loved ones. He never catches
the monster and the rest of Victor s life is lived with overwhelming feelings of remorse. It was his

The Five Factor Model Of Personality
The five factor model (FFM) is a contemporary construct describing personality. It incorporates five
traits openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism also referred to as
OCEAN. Within each dimension, there are specific personality attributes, for example, openness
includes subcategories of feelings and actions. The FFM was influenced by Cattell s 16 factor model
(1957) and shares traits with many other personality theories such as Eysenck s PEN model. There has
been an ongoing debate discussing how many factors appropriately represent the brain structure of
personality, suggestions have varied from 2 7, recently Almagor et al. (1995) advocated that a 7 factor
model unfolds when evaluative traits are involved. Costa Mcrae (1992) claim that the FFM is the best
theory of personality, however, the model has received much criticism. Through examining different
aspects of the model its credibility can be explored. Universality is the core basis of a credible theory,
studies have been found to replicate the five factors of personality repeatedly. However, this evidence
has been obtained purely from replications involving urban and literate populations. Gurven et al.
(2013) examined the universality of the theory further by obtaining a sample consisting of 632
Tsimane forager horticultural inhabitants of Bolivia. The sample was, therefore, illiterate and from a
native society an area of study not previously conducted for the FFM. The

Ip Delivery For Fpgas Using Applets And Jhdl
Paper Summary The paper, IP Delivery for FPGAs Using Applets and JHDL , describes the use of
Java applets in order to provide IP (Intellectual Property) based FPGA delivery and evaluation. As IP
based FPGA approach has significant advantages such as it improves the productivity/quality, and
reduce design time. FPGA IP uses Java applets that allow designers to create, evaluate, test and obtain
circuits, and that too has to be done within a web browser. Several other approaches have been
introduced, which are similar to JHDL. Those can be described as follows;  Web CAD: It uses client
server architecture and transfers the simulation events across the network  Java CAD: This is similar
to Web CAD. It has applets which are described in Java and uses RMI (Remote Method Invocation)
over the internet for simulating and evaluating the circuits.  JBits: This tool does not use the internet
to deliver IP cores and delivers pre placed IP core. It is easily incorporated with online Java applets. In
Java based applets, here JHDL is used as a design environment. It is developed at BYU used for
creating high performance FPGA. JHDL libraries provide the components and wires that are used to
create the instance. The programming language used here is Java and for simulation and compilation,
Java Virtual Machine (JVM) platform is needed. Variety of design tools it supported, such as 
Schematic Viewer, allows the designer to quickly view the structure and hierarchy of a circuit. 

The Progression Of Advanced Technology Single Handedly...
The progression of advanced technology single handedly alters humans at a biological level and shifts
human intelligence into a new frontier. We now have instantaneous access to the internet through our
smart phones and tablets, and can approach any corner of the internet within seconds at virtually any
geographical location thanks to the rapid advancement of technology. The internet is in essence giving
us an almost infinite amount of knowledge at speeds faster than light, it has become one of the greatest
tools for academic research and the helping the quest towards intellectualism. It has become
invaluable in advancing the swift rate of human evolution. While the furthering of advanced artificial

This is the question many expert media theorists and journalists ask, and a clear answer is not manifest
due to it being pure supposition and speculation, regardless of the expertise and experience of these
experts. I think, along with many other distinguished technologists, that our future is optimistic,
assuming we gain the power to overcome upcoming obstacles with technology in the present. We will
have to learn to engineer technology based on human interaction and be able to regulate social
behaviors around these particular hindrances. These issues at hand, are widely debated nowadays, and
will most likely will be debated more and more as we draw nearer to the era of extraordinarily capable
and powerful artificial intelligence. This subject matter brings up many inherently significant
philosophical matters. This topic forces us to consider the foundation of human intelligence, and how
that groundwork could be expanded upon and implemented within our future s technology. If we
surpasses innate human boundaries with technology, do our mortal understandings of ethics and
morality still stand, when we are no longer the superior creatures? It is absolutely imperative that we
learn to observe and define how intelligence ran within computer processors varies from the intellect
that exists naturally within the human mind. To what degree will our biological

Briefly Summarize The Four Phases Of The 30 Years War
William Sun Mr Hughes AP European History (6) 15 October 2015 Chapter 15 Questions 1. Briefly
summarize the four phases of the 30 Years War. How did the war change the economic and political
landscape of the Holy Roman Empire? The four phases of the thirty years can be summarised as the
Bohemian phase, Danish phase, Swedish phase and French phase, which induced the Holy Roman
Empire to lose money and caused the empire to split. The Bohemian phase from 1618 to 1625 was
sparked by the defenestration of Prague. This incited civil war between the Catholics League and the
Protestant Union. The Catholics won the first phase through the defeat of the Protestants in the Battle
of the White Mountain in 1620. The Danish phase, from 1625 to 1629, ... Show more content on

2. What is absolutism? Explain the top three reasons for its rise in the 17th century Absolutism, where
there is a person who has full political power over a country, rose in the 17th century due to the
increase in surplus, mercantilism and the standing armies. Due to the increase in surplus in these
countries, the government had more money to spend. Mercantilism also contributed to the economic
growth of countries that adopted it. The increased money from these meant increased funding for
standing armies. The standing armies gave the king an army without needing to call on the nobles,
thereby lessening their importance and power, and heightening the king s. 3. Why is Richelieu so
important for French history? Richelieu was important for French history as he strengthened the
French monarchy through the unification of France, lessening of nobles power and boosting economic
growth. Richelieu unified France by making French the national language of France. The unification
of France made it easier for Louis XIII to achieve an Absolutist government. Richelieu minimised the
nobles power, which in turn increased the monarch s power. Richelieu also managed the economic
activities of France. These strengthened the French monarchy significantly. 4. Le Roi Soleil Did Louis

Racism And Stereotypes In Hollywood
The world of cinema was created with the purpose of displaying stories of White people, for White
people and by White people. When it comes to African Americans the world of cinema has
predetermined roles for them. These roles are the stereotypical uneducated slave, domestic worker,
mammy, hyper sexualized harlot and tap dancing uncle tom. These stereotypes given to highly
talented and educated African American actors and actresses have evolved over the years but no
matter the time African Americans in starring roles have to portray a stereotype of some kind in order
to be successful in Hollywood. Over the course of the semester nine films were viewed spanning from
the early 1930 s to the middle of the 1970 s. These films include Emperor Jones (1933), Princess Tam
Tam (1935), Cabin in the Sky (1943), Stormy Weather (1943), Carmen Jones (1954), Black Orpheus
(1959), A Raisin in the Sun (1961), Nothing but A Man (1964) and Claudine (1974). In each of these
films we see how these stereotypes are portrayed, exploited and evolved throughout the years to
disguise Hollywood s racism. Hollywood s history of racism and stereotypes is explained well through
the work of literature Toms, Coons, Mulattoes, Mammies, and Bucks by Donald Bogle. The film
industry in Hollywood has many notable and praised films in its early years which are blatantly racist
and depict African Americans in a very stereotypical light. These films include D.W. Griffith s The
Birth of a Nation (1915), which

Essay on The Second Vatican Council
The Second Vatican Council
The Second Vatican Council, or Vatican II as it is often called, was an Ecumenical Council, (which
means it affected the worldwide Christian community) of the Roman Catholic Church. It began on
October 11, 1962 under, Pope John XXIII with over two thousand attendants (Hollis 23). The council
ended on December 8, 1965, with Pope Paul VI presiding over the council due to the death of Pope
John XXIII in 1963. The council consisted of four different sessions convening in the fall of the four
years during which the council took place. Topics discussed and debated throughout the council were
issues concerning the church, the liturgy, revelation and scripture, and the clergy.

Until Vatican II the Church was split into may different factions and each was set in its own belief that
they were the one true church. After the council however, compromises and cooperation began to
develop between the many denominations toward building the Christian community as a whole.
Official documents concerning the liturgy and social communication were adopted during this session.
The third session began on September 14, 1964 and ended on November 21, 1964 (Rynne 291). A
select few religious and lay women were invited to this third session in order to incorporate different
sections of the church. Ecumenism, Eastern Rite churches, and the constitution of the Church,
missions, and ministries of priests were such topics discusses during this period. The fourth and last,
period began on September 14, 1965 and ended on December 8, 1965 (Rynne 450). Issues considered
during this period included education, laity (distinguished people not of the clergy), bishops, and
religious orders. At the close of the council, the pope declared a jubilee, and asked Catholics to read
and study the constitutions and decrees of the council and apply them to their spiritual lives.
Changes occurred in various categories throughout the whole council. One of the more dramatic
changes that occurred in the church, is the vernacular used during mass. Until Vatican II, the mass had

Duties of the Individual in Antigone and A Doll s House
The main theme that can be seen in both plays, Antigone and A Doll s House, is the duty to oneself as
opposed to the duty to the state or to society. Should the two women, Nora in A Doll s House, and
Antigone in Antigone, do what the state and society wishes them to do or should they follow their own
conscience? Both plays focus on the conflict between individual laws and the state law, disobedience
and obedience, and understanding oneself.
In Antigone there is the contrasting view of the state law against the divine law. The state law may
have some similarities to the divine law but they are not the same. For example the divine law ... Show

Some may think that it is wrong that people should oppose the state s laws, and should just follow
them, but then they will never get to have their own beliefs and never have a better understanding of
themselves in the end.
In Antigone there is the state and its laws, but in A Doll s House we see more of the society, and the
laws it enforces on the individual. The society s rules prevent the characters from seeing and
expressing their true nature. When Krogstad tells Nora that the law takes no account of good motives,
she cries, Then they must be very bad laws (Ibsen page #). This causes a problem for the main female
characters, in deciding if what they are doing is right or wrong. At the end of A Doll s House Nora
realizes that she has lived as a doll , as her father s doll and then as her husband s doll, and has
accepted the church and society without ever asking any questions about them. Then she questions
herself whether the society she lives in is correct in its beliefs, or if what she thinks is correct and
requires that she oppose society itself. But now I intend to learn. I must try to satisfy myself which is
right, society or I (Ibsen page #). In the end she goes with her beliefs and opposes society, but at a
great personal cost, because she had to leave her children behind.
Some people will think that opposing the society is right and some will think that it is wrong. In the
two plays there are the images of

Symbols In Erich Maria Remarque s All Quiet On The Western...
Erich Maria Remarque does a REMARQUEable job placing symbols throughout, one particular one is
the usage of butterflies, in his already powerful text, of All Quiet on the Western Front. In the middle
of waiting for the next bombardment, Paul sees two butterflies play in front of our trench. (127). Of
course, after witnessing their arrival, all Paul can think is What can they be looking for here? (127).
These flying flutterers of fragility are depicted generally as pretty, and lovely, but in the book they
appear in the middle of a chaotic chapter. Not only are the little frivolously flapping floaters seen
playing, they are seen playing in the vastness of nothing, and finally land on nothing else, but a soldier
s remnants. The butterflies

A Documentary On Tattoos And How They Affect Human...
I conducted a survey and three interviews to create a documentary on tattoos and how they affect
human relationships and interactions. This paper is an analysis of what it takes to make a
documentary. Documentary originates from the word document which means a film or article that
records factual information. Documentary means to present facts objectively without editing and
adding fictional information (Stott 6). Some of the first documents are from Benjamin Glassberg in
1938 and Saunders Redding 1951 before the word documentary was even created (Stott 6). At first, a
documentary was known as a human document because it had emotional ties to the information
though it was factual information (Stott 7). Emotion itself is completely subjective because not every
person in the world will have the same emotion to the same event. Thus giving birth to two different
kinds of documentaries official and human. In 1938, photography was introduced into the world of
documentaries by providing photographic proof of factual information. This brought about a bigger
war between objective and subjective documentaries because along with photos came more emotion
(Stott 11). How could an author of an official documentary choose photos without any bias? All this
information made me want to challenge myself and make an objective documentary on tattoos. I
personally have tattoos and plan on obtaining more so the challenge here is to take information
attained and record it without any of my own

Difference Between The Oud And The Oud
The ancestor of the guitar, the oud, has not evolved into the guitar but only inspired its creation and
together became two popular instruments used in various parts of the world. The guitar is mostly
associated with western countries while the oud has been traditionally used in the Spanish and Arab
countries.
Classified as string instruments both the guitar and the oud have a few similarities. To be held and
played in the same way their physical appearance resembles one another in terms of shape, materials
and the use of strings to produce their acoustic sound. The wooden neck on both guitars allows one to
play by plucking the strings attached and transmitting the energy from the strings vibration into the air

Since then, the Oud has been revered as the King of Instruments, telling the stories of its time through

From my perspective, Walt Disney corporate strategy is to develop a high quality of family target

Quotes About Joe Louis
Joe Louis was a Black American professional boxer who helped bring together White and Black
Americans during the Great Depression. White and Black Americans were segregated during that time
which resulted in hostility and hatred toward the other race. Rumours would be made about the other
race and a race could be thought of as superior to another. Joe Louis gained respect by many of
different races for winning the heavyweight world championship in 1937, and continuing to hold it
until 1949. Joe Louis served as a hero for blacks in the South because he was able to prove that Black

In the South for Black Americans, Joe Louis served as a way of fighting for equality. Joe Louis gave
the Southern Blacks hope and confidence through the Great Depression as well as life. The reason it
gave many Black Americans confidence was because he let the world know that a Black was just as
good, if not better, than a white. After Joe Louis became heavyweight champion of the world, this
made some Whites angry knowing that a Black man had bested one of their own. In I Know Why The
Caged Bird Sings on page 136, Maya portrays the fear in Southern Black Americans knowing Joe
Louis had won. It would take an hour or more before the people would leave the Store and head for
home. Those who lived too far had made arrangements to stay in town. It wouldn t do for a Black man
and his family to be caught on a lonely country road on a night when Joe Louis had proved that we
were the strongest people in the world. Maya knew the instant Joe Louis had won, that Whites were
angry and wanting revenge. Joe Louis s victory was a great deal for the segregated South, and not so
much for the North. The North wasn t as ridden of hate, prejudice, and racism as the South. In the
North, Jim Crow laws were not common, because citizens living there treated everyone almost as an
equal. The North didn t have much of an affect due to Louis s victory because people viewed Louis as

Our patient was admitted to the ICU with respiratory distress. Respiratory distress is caused by an
inflammation due to neutrophil activation. The body has an inability to transfer oxygen or carbon

the edema, there is an increase in fluid in the peripheral areas and edema in hands, feet, and the

implemented. The ventilator settings for our patient were: Rate 15, Peep 12, Peak Flow 60, FiO2 95,

Two mechanisms, insulin resistance and decreased insulin secretion, are vital functions that lead to the
development of Type 2 Diabetes. Insulin resistance is the effect that insulin has on insulin sensitive
tissues and their response to the insulin (McCance and Huether, 2010). Abnormality of the insulin
molecule, high amounts of insulin antagonists, down regulation of the insulin receptors,
decreased/abnormal activation of postreceptor kinases, and alteration of glucose transporter proteins
all lead to defects of the insulin molecule itself (McCance and Huether, 2010). Because the patient is
obese, he is at risk for hyperinsulinemia and decreased insulin receptor density. When compensatory
hyperinsulinemia occurs, the client may not begin to see the manifestations of Type 2 Diabetes for
several years (McCance and Huether, 2010).
Beta cells eventually undergo an apoptotic cell death. Beta cell exhaustion from increased demand for
insulin biosynthesis, associated with intracellular oxidative stress and endoplasmic reticulum
dysfunction, also has been implicated in beta cell apoptosis (McCance and Huether, 2010). Four
hormones/peptides influence the development of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. They are: glucagon,
amylin, incretins, and ghrelin. The primary function of glucagon is to increase blood glucose levels.
Glucagon stimulates both glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis, and does this in the liver (McCance
and Huether, 2010).

justice settings and 5 did not attend the follow up 6 month interview. During the 6 month treatment
trial, 95% of the participants used opioids on one or more occasions while the other 5% reported
completely refraining from using opioids during treatment. The average frequency of opioid use was
24 days during the entire 6 month period. The overall frequency of opioid use was reduced from an

Alicia Giving Up
Life in the 24th ward will either make or break a man, at least this is what Alicia defines it as. Being
exposed to the horrors of the 24th ward has forced her to grow thick skin and a strong will. Don t even
think of trying to bait her psychologically, insults are nothing to her, shrugging them off as if they didn
t mean anything. Her unbroken and strong spirit will drive her forward even in the hardest of times.
Giving up is something she simply doesn t do, it s cowardly in her mind. Her personal thought is that
those who are cowardly are setting themselves up for failure. Alicia wasn t turned into a emotionless
brute though. Beyond her strength is a kind and understanding individual, willing to understand her
enemies rather then blatantly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Striving to be at the head of authority of anything yes she s the type that if given the chance would
rule the entire world. Not that she d ever believe it but, she could probably be convinced to destroy
humanity if it meant power. Consciously she may have her set of morals and personality but,
underneath that she s driven by ambition. It smolders within her waiting for the chance to take her to
new heights. This ambition is the strongest thing about her yet she ll never admit it believing herself to
be someone standing for justice. With quite a few hobbies Alicia never has a problem keeping herself
busy, most of the time. Alicia travels everywhere on her bike, if she s seen without it she s either doing
something or left it at her home. This also justifies her wearing a mask around Tokyo as she rides her
bike. When she isn t riding her bike she s studying plants a big hobby of hers even going as far as
basing her tattoo around plant symbolism. Music is one of her favourite things in this world enjoying a
nice relaxing time to just enjoy her music. Of course she can t play it herself as she has no time to

  • 2. Hip Hop And Its Impact On African American Culture In the 70 s a new genre of music was created in South Bronx, New York. That genre is known as Hip Hop. Over the years Hip Hop has gained popularity becoming arguably one of the most influential forms of music to date. Hip Hop artist or Mc s used it to express their views on a multitude of topics to their fans. These topics range wildly from the more serious subjects like the everyday life of people living in the projects, personal obstacles they had to endure, and politics. As well as, more lighthearted topics like enjoying your time in a night club or hanging out with friends. For those reasons, I believe Hip Hop is representative of the African American community. Even after 25 years hip hop has continued to reflect issues that are going on in black communities. I think that hip hop has transformed from just a genre of music to more along the line of being a culture. Two and half ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those two points race and background are often used against blacks to often undermined or belittle ones character unjustly. Even after former President Obama quote If I had a son, he d look like Trayvon. In which people thought Obama was trying to entice a racial divide. I believe President Obama was simply trying to say that the event leading up to Trayvon death could have happened to any African American son. That notion was important because young African Americans are often viewed as hoodlums or thugs. For that reason, I think that if artist continue to make songs with lyrics like that in them young African American children will understand how things should be. Things like understanding that you should judge individuals by their character and not by how they look or where they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Quadratic Residues Essay An Identity based Encryption Scheme based on Quadratic Residues Introduction: In Public Key Crypto system, it is required to know the Public Key of Receiver to encrypt the messages. So that receiver can decrypt the message using his/her own private key. This system needs to maintain directories which holds Public Keys of each user. To eliminate the need of maintaining such directories, this paper suggests computing the public key using receiver s identity such as Email address. However, implementation of such system which is secure and practical, is difficult. The system uses Quadratic Residues modulo a large composite integer. [2] What is Quadratic Residues? If m and a are coprime integers, then a is called a quadratic residue modulo ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hence, a is square modulo of M. Also, P and Q are congruent to 3 mod 4, ( 1/P)=( 1/Q)= 1 Thus, a or a will be Quadratic Residues modulo P and Q. Only authority can determine the square root of modulo M and provide it to Alice. Here, we call it r r=a^((M+5 (P+Q))/8) mod M Where, r^2=a mod M or r^2= a mod M If Bob wants to send data to Alice, he will generate a Transport key and perform Symmetric Key Encryption using that key. Then, he sends it to Alice bit by bit. Let s say, x is the single bit of transport key, coded as +1 or 1. Bob will choose a value t at a random modulo M, such that Jacobi Symbol (t/M)=x Then, he sends s=(t+a/t)mod M to Alice Alice recovers the bit x as follows, s+2r=t (1+r/t)* (1+r/t) mod M Also, it follows Jacobi Symbol ((s+2r)/M)=(t/M)=x Here, Alice knows the value of r, using that she will calculate value of x Bob need to double up the Key data as he is not aware whether Alice uses root of a or a. He will select random t to send x bits, and send s= (t a/t)mod M. There is no way to avoid sending this extra amount of data. [2] Practical Implementation Aspects: System is not very much expensive in terms of computation. If transport key is K bits long, then Alice need to compute K Jacobi Symbols and Bob will need to compute K divisions mod M and K Jacobi Symbols. Issue: Each bit of Transport key requires size up to M for bandwidth. Bob Does not know whether Alice uses square root of a or a, hence, he must ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Western Europe During The 16th Century During the 16th century western Europe experienced a rise in even stronger nation states with intense religious beliefs and an increased desire to politically control populaces across the continent. This was especially evident in the Low countries where people were separated between Catholics and Protestants. Resentment between these two groups escalated with the Dutch Revolt and in 1579 the seven northern, mainly protestant, provinces declared their independence from King Phillip the second of Spain and became the Dutch Republic. Conflict between Catholics and Protestants did not only occur in the Low countries, France also fought numerous wars in their country over religion mainly between the aristocratic House of Bourbon and House of Guise. ... Catherine was a devout Catholic and wanted the Monarchy to stay under Catholic control. So she arranged the wedding of Catholic, Marguerite de Valois, and Huguenot, Henry of Navarre. At the wedding they brought numerous Huguenot nobles to Paris, so political and religious tensions elevated. Gaspard De Coligny a Huguenot leader was shot by a hired assassin from the House of Guise. However, the bullet merely tore off his finger and shattered his elbow. After the botched assassination, Catherine De Medici and other Catholic nobles feared Huguenot retaliation. To eliminate future political opposition she ordered her son to demand the execution of Huguenot leaders. These attacks would become known as St. Batholomew s Day massacre. Catholics sided with the House of Guise and protestants sided with the House of Bourbon. For weeks Catholic mobs attacked Huguenots in urban centers and the the countryside ultimately leaving 5,000 30,000 dead. The massacre was a turning point in the French Wars of Religion. Adjustments to Southwest Airlines Operations SOUTHWEST OPERATIONS Although in recent history Southwest Airline did some adjustments to its operation, company maintained its philosophy and stayed true to its original strategy. When company was established in 1971 its primary focus was to stick to short haul trips, point to point flights, fleet only consisting of Boeing737s, high frequency flights, low fares, and no international flights. Operating in no frills philosophy resulted in lower fixed cost which enabled Southwest Airlines opportunity for growth and created the competitive advantage. Southwest Airlines also had only a limited participation in computerized reservation systems, channeling travel agents and customers to book flights through its reservation center. Taking advantage of technology Southwest was the first national carrier to sell seats from a home page on the Internet, reaching 81% online bookings via southwest.com in 2010. COPYCAT LEAGUE Pioneering services such as providing the ticketless travel helped efficiency and lowered operational cost. Efforts to lower the fixed cost proved to be a successful formula in achieving competitive edge for Southwest Airlines. Southwest s success did create numerous imitators. • 7. Taking a Look at Bacterial Gastroenteritis 1. The diagnosis is bacterial gastroenteritis, commonly known as food poisoning or the stomach flu . Gastroenteritis is inflammation and swelling of the gastrointestinal track. Gastroenteritis can usually caused by ingesting food contaminated with some bacteria. Furthermore, some common causes of gastroenteritis include, shigella infection, cholera, and salmonella infection. There are many symptoms of gastroenteritis, including diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain and vomiting (Guerrant, Bobak, 1991). In addition, vomiting and diarrhea can cause dehydration, and children are likely to get dehydrated more quickly. Thus, it is crucial to look for the signs of dehydration, such as dry mouth, dry skin and decreased urine output. The doctor initiates the diagnosis by performing a abdominal or rectal examination in order to eliminate the possibilities of pelvic abscesses and inflammatory bowel disease (Guerrant, Bobak, 1991). In addition, the doctor uses a stool culture to determine what bacteria are responsible for causing the gastroenteritis (Guerrant, Bobak, 1991). 2. The organism responsible for this disease is a strain of E.coli called E.coli 0157:H7. E.coli is a gram negative rod that inhabit the human gastrointestinal track and mostly harmless. However, the strain 0157 can produce powerful toxins that can lead to severe cases of food poisoning (Gould, 2010). • 8. Utilitarianism, Virtue And Care Ethics The three ethical theories I will discuss from Chapter 1 include: utilitarianism, virtue and care ethics. First, the utilitarianism is moral standard and a theory of action by humans that are morally right in action. Utilitarianism is an action that is morally right if its consequences are more favorable. One way for businesses , as our reading suggests (Fieser Moseley, 2012), is make a list of all the good and bad for any particular act. If the good outweighs the bad then that action should occur. If the bad outweighs the good, then the action should stop. Utilitarianism theory attempts to keep things on the positive, happier side of the spectrum. A company using this theory is probably functioning well due to their morale analysis of actions related to safe products, good quality products and customer care, a fair price, and fair and equal treatment to their employees. In addition, because utilitarianism is a morale standard, a company would be environmentally conscious and find ways to help the community and the world. A company would work at making their products in an environmentally safe way, recycle surplus and make their products within the United States to support the economy. A company would also look at balancing goods over harm produced to the environment or people. Lastly, if a company were to be very successful, they should donate some of their proceeds back into the community (environmentally or local community support) or employees (bonuses, ... • 10. The Future of Human Evolution The Future of Human Evolution Alexander R. Prof. Kohn Darwinism and Evolution 12 6 96 Evolution, the science of how populations of living organisms change over time in response to their environment, is the central unifying theme in biology today. Evolution was first explored in its semi modern form in Charles Darwin s 1859 book, Origin of Species by means of Natural Selection. In this book, Darwin laid out a strong argument for evolution. He postulated that all species have a common ancestor from which they are descended. As populations of species moved into new habitats and new parts of the world, they faced different environmental conditions. Over time, these populations accumulated modifications, or adaptations, that allowed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first step in understand evolution in present terms is to mention genetic engineering (including genetic drift). The first step to understanding genetic engineering, and embracing its possibilities for society, is to obtain a rough knowledge base of its history and method. The basis for altering the evolutionary process is dependent on the understanding of how individuals pass on characteristics to their offspring. Genetics achieved its first foothold on the secrets of nature s evolutionary process when an Austrian monk named Gregor Mendel developed the first laws of heredity. Using these laws, scientists studied the characteristics of organisms for most of the next one hundred years following Mendel s discovery. These early studies concluded that each organism has two sets of character determinants, or genes (Stableford 16). For instance, in regards to eye color, a child could receive one set of genes from his father that were encoded one blue, and the other brown. The same child could al so receive two brown genes from his mother. The conclusion for this inheritance would be the child has a three in four chance of having brown eyes, and a one in three chance of having blue eyes (Stableford 16). Genes are transmitted through chromosomes which reside in the nucleus of every living organism s cells. Each chromosome is made up of fine strands of deoxyribonucleic acids, or DNA. • 12. Reflective Conflict Conflicts are present in our everyday lives, some big and some small. The degree to which they impact our relationships largely depends on who is involved and what each party s expectations are. Conflicts can either go onto a constructive or destructive path depending on how the parties involved handle the given situation or problem. I am currently experiencing a destructive conflict with two of my roommates and that is what I will be focusing on for this critical analysis paper. Folger, Poole, and Stutman (2013), define conflict as, the interaction of interdependent people who perceive incompatibility and the possibility of inference from others as a result of this incompatibility (p. 4). Using this definition, I will break down my current conflict in order to describe and analyze it using a variety of concepts and theories. Threatening text messages were sent which led to loud, in person arguments. The aim of the study in review was to investigate how the characteristics of waggle dances for natural food sources and environmental factors affect dance follower behavior. Due to the assumption that food source profitability tends to decrease with increasing foraging distance, a hypothesis that the attractiveness of a dance, measured as the number of dance followers and their attendance, decreases with increasing distance to the projected food location was formed. There are two main hypotheses to explain how worker bees known as foragers recruit other workers. The hypotheses are known as the dance language theory and the odor plume theory. The theories differ in that the dance theory shows an important role of odor in recruitment and the odor theory claims that the dance is essentially irrelevant and that communication relies on odor alone (Murlis et al., 1992). Most scientific studies support the dance theory. The western honey bee workers communicate different types of information through dance (Waddington, 1982). By dancing, information about the direction and distance to nectar and pollen, water sources, or new housing locations can be shared. Workers who have scouted out food dance the waggle dance or figure eight dance when the food is farther than 75 meters from the hive. The waggle dance has two components. Within one s lifetime, the mark to finding oneself is being able to overcome hardships and difficulties in order to unravel the full potential concealed within them. From being manipulated and deceived, this manages to bring about an ability hidden within oneself that can only be triggered by experiencing what it is like to be a victim of deception. In A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsen and As You Like It by William Shakespeare, each author entraps their protagonists with the role of being manipulative or the victim of being manipulated to further enhance the author s purpose of revealing or unlocking the hidden potential that arose within the characters. Throughout A Doll s House, Torvald views Nora s actions as being deceiving not only towards him but also towards her family. My second hypothesis is that international institutions or treaties of members of significantly asymmetric national capability will have a stronger dispute settlement mechanism. That is to say, In other words, an institution that contains asymmetry of power in terms of national capacity, military capacity, economic capability, and legal resources should have stronger DSMs. In this situation, powerful states might seek for stronger DSMs for gaining advantage within institutions. The underlying logic of this idea, based on Allee and Elsig is that many DSMs allow for both diplomatic and legal dispute settlement, so powerful states can benefit from having a menu of dispute settlement options that allows them to forum shop even within treaties. (Allee 97) Also, for weaker countries, stronger DSMs can give weaker countries the equal chance to argue with more powerful countries under certain framework. Strong DSMs provide relatively weaker countries such as Mexico has more capability to confront with more powerful countries and boost their chance to win the confrontation. It incorporates five traits openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism also referred to as OCEAN. Within each dimension, there are specific personality attributes, for example, openness includes subcategories of feelings and actions. The FFM was influenced by Cattell s 16 factor model (1957) and shares traits with many other personality theories such as Eysenck s PEN model. There has been an ongoing debate discussing how many factors appropriately represent the brain structure of personality, suggestions have varied from 2 7, recently Almagor et al. (1995) advocated that a 7 factor model unfolds when evaluative traits are involved. Costa Mcrae (1992) claim that the FFM is the best theory of personality, however, the model has received much criticism. Through examining different aspects of the model its credibility can be explored. Universality is the core basis of a credible theory, studies have been found to replicate the five factors of personality repeatedly. However, this evidence has been obtained purely from replications involving urban and literate populations. Gurven et al. FPGA IP uses Java applets that allow designers to create, evaluate, test and obtain circuits, and that too has to be done within a web browser. Several other approaches have been introduced, which are similar to JHDL. Those can be described as follows;  Web CAD: It uses client server architecture and transfers the simulation events across the network  Java CAD: This is similar to Web CAD. It has applets which are described in Java and uses RMI (Remote Method Invocation) over the internet for simulating and evaluating the circuits.  JBits: This tool does not use the internet to deliver IP cores and delivers pre placed IP core. It is easily incorporated with online Java applets. In Java based applets, here JHDL is used as a design environment. It is developed at BYU used for creating high performance FPGA. JHDL libraries provide the components and wires that are used to create the instance. The programming language used here is Java and for simulation and compilation, Java Virtual Machine (JVM) platform is needed. • 24. Racism And Stereotypes In Hollywood The world of cinema was created with the purpose of displaying stories of White people, for White people and by White people. When it comes to African Americans the world of cinema has predetermined roles for them. These roles are the stereotypical uneducated slave, domestic worker, mammy, hyper sexualized harlot and tap dancing uncle tom. These stereotypes given to highly talented and educated African American actors and actresses have evolved over the years but no matter the time African Americans in starring roles have to portray a stereotype of some kind in order to be successful in Hollywood. Over the course of the semester nine films were viewed spanning from the early 1930 s to the middle of the 1970 s. These films include Emperor Jones (1933), Princess Tam Tam (1935), Cabin in the Sky (1943), Stormy Weather (1943), Carmen Jones (1954), Black Orpheus (1959), A Raisin in the Sun (1961), Nothing but A Man (1964) and Claudine (1974). In each of these films we see how these stereotypes are portrayed, exploited and evolved throughout the years to disguise Hollywood s racism. Hollywood s history of racism and stereotypes is explained well through the work of literature Toms, Coons, Mulattoes, Mammies, and Bucks by Donald Bogle. The film industry in Hollywood has many notable and praised films in its early years which are blatantly racist and depict African Americans in a very stereotypical light. These films include D.W. • 26. Comparing the Duties of the Individual in Antigone and A... Duties of the Individual in Antigone and A Doll s House The main theme that can be seen in both plays, Antigone and A Doll s House, is the duty to oneself as opposed to the duty to the state or to society. Should the two women, Nora in A Doll s House, and Antigone in Antigone, do what the state and society wishes them to do or should they follow their own conscience? Both plays focus on the conflict between individual laws and the state law, disobedience and obedience, and understanding oneself. In Antigone there is the contrasting view of the state law against the divine law. The state law may have some similarities to the divine law but they are not the same. For example the divine law ... Some may think that it is wrong that people should oppose the state s laws, and should just follow them, but then they will never get to have their own beliefs and never have a better understanding of themselves in the end. In Antigone there is the state and its laws, but in A Doll s House we see more of the society, and the laws it enforces on the individual. The society s rules prevent the characters from seeing and expressing their true nature. When Krogstad tells Nora that the law takes no account of good motives, she cries, Then they must be very bad laws (Ibsen page #). This causes a problem for the main female characters, in deciding if what they are doing is right or wrong. At the end of A Doll s House Nora realizes that she has lived as a doll , as her father s doll and then as her husband s doll, and has accepted the church and society without ever asking any questions about them. Then she questions herself whether the society she lives in is correct in its beliefs, or if what she thinks is correct and requires that she oppose society itself. But now I intend to learn. I must try to satisfy myself which is right, society or I (Ibsen page #). In the end she goes with her beliefs and opposes society, but at a great personal cost, because she had to leave her children behind. Erich Maria Remarque does a REMARQUEable job placing symbols throughout, one particular one is the usage of butterflies, in his already powerful text, of All Quiet on the Western Front. In the middle of waiting for the next bombardment, Paul sees two butterflies play in front of our trench. (127). Of course, after witnessing their arrival, all Paul can think is What can they be looking for here? (127). These flying flutterers of fragility are depicted generally as pretty, and lovely, but in the book they appear in the middle of a chaotic chapter. Not only are the little frivolously flapping floaters seen playing, they are seen playing in the vastness of nothing, and finally land on nothing else, but a soldier s remnants. The butterflies ... • 28. A Documentary On Tattoos And How They Affect Human... I conducted a survey and three interviews to create a documentary on tattoos and how they affect human relationships and interactions. This paper is an analysis of what it takes to make a documentary. Documentary originates from the word document which means a film or article that records factual information. Documentary means to present facts objectively without editing and adding fictional information (Stott 6). Some of the first documents are from Benjamin Glassberg in 1938 and Saunders Redding 1951 before the word documentary was even created (Stott 6). At first, a documentary was known as a human document because it had emotional ties to the information though it was factual information (Stott 7). Emotion itself is completely subjective because not every person in the world will have the same emotion to the same event. Thus giving birth to two different kinds of documentaries official and human. In 1938, photography was introduced into the world of documentaries by providing photographic proof of factual information. This brought about a bigger war between objective and subjective documentaries because along with photos came more emotion (Stott 11). How could an author of an official documentary choose photos without any bias? All this information made me want to challenge myself and make an objective documentary on tattoos. I personally have tattoos and plan on obtaining more so the challenge here is to take information attained and record it without any of my own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Joe Louis gained respect by many of different races for winning the heavyweight world championship in 1937, and continuing to hold it until 1949. In the South for Black Americans, Joe Louis served as a way of fighting for equality. Joe Louis gave the Southern Blacks hope and confidence through the Great Depression as well as life. The reason it gave many Black Americans confidence was because he let the world know that a Black was just as good, if not better, than a white. After Joe Louis became heavyweight champion of the world, this made some Whites angry knowing that a Black man had bested one of their own. In I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings on page 136, Maya portrays the fear in Southern Black Americans knowing Joe Louis had won. It would take an hour or more before the people would leave the Store and head for home. Those who lived too far had made arrangements to stay in town. It wouldn t do for a Black man and his family to be caught on a lonely country road on a night when Joe Louis had proved that we were the strongest people in the world. The North wasn t as ridden of hate, prejudice, and racism as the South. In the North, Jim Crow laws were not common, because citizens living there treated everyone almost as an equal. Two mechanisms, insulin resistance and decreased insulin secretion, are vital functions that lead to the development of Type 2 Diabetes. Insulin resistance is the effect that insulin has on insulin sensitive tissues and their response to the insulin (McCance and Huether, 2010). Abnormality of the insulin molecule, high amounts of insulin antagonists, down regulation of the insulin receptors, decreased/abnormal activation of postreceptor kinases, and alteration of glucose transporter proteins all lead to defects of the insulin molecule itself (McCance and Huether, 2010). Because the patient is obese, he is at risk for hyperinsulinemia and decreased insulin receptor density. When compensatory hyperinsulinemia occurs, the client may not begin to see the manifestations of Type 2 Diabetes for several years (McCance and Huether, 2010). Beta cells eventually undergo an apoptotic cell death. Beta cell exhaustion from increased demand for insulin biosynthesis, associated with intracellular oxidative stress and endoplasmic reticulum dysfunction, also has been implicated in beta cell apoptosis (McCance and Huether, 2010). Four hormones/peptides influence the development of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. They are: glucagon, amylin, incretins, and ghrelin. The primary function of glucagon is to increase blood glucose levels.
