Arkitek Wan Choong or AWC in short, is a multi-disciplined company established since 2009,
offering extensive professional experience through “ARCHITECTURE” related to the
integration of the building industry.
AWC always maintained a sincere commitment to the expression of sound design and
progressive planning through skilled solution and dedication to quality and service.
AWC has two major departments such as Architecture Department and Interior Design
Department with the dedicated skillful and experienced staffs in their own related fields and
expertise to provide service like architecture, design, master planning and project
management.
The department is mindful of the challenge brought about by the impact of our nation’s rapid
progress, the necessary for greater technological innovation and the economical use of
resources related to design and planning consultancy.
The Architecture Department is fully computerized from office administration to design and
project management. Architectural functions are supported by a team of dedicated design
and technical stuff using the latest computer software as design production tools.

The internship is aimed at introducing us to the requirements, activities and operations
involved in working in architectural / construction practices. The purpose is to facilitate the
involvement of students in professional attachments to architectural practices in order to
develop an understanding of the general nature, principles and procedure of law and
legislation as applied to architectural drawings, especially the Building by-laws.
During the internship, I was exposed to the process of authority submission for various
drawings from an architectural practice and the range of contract documentation produced to
support these drawings.

The first task assigned to me was architectural renderings to illustrate the concept of the
design for brochures. Design checking which requires clarification. House plans from
AutoCAD files are meticulously transformed into 3D renderings with adherence to
specifications and reference. Prepare Architectural Drawings for authority submission
Additionally, contour lines were drawn to produce site section for authority submission. I
had to create contour lines by noting the site elevation level. Curbs, floor level, road level,
setbacks and boundary lines were also drawn. I was aware that different local authorities
have different submission standards. The structural components were removed as the
distance between the buildings were not required.
Furthermore, I was assigned to establish the details requirement for product suppliers.
Timber louvres schedule and struts schedule are needed to order material.

In this project, I helped Liana to do 3D visualization for a client which has a big family. A
staircase is proposed to facilitate two families staying together. I was only in charge of
cleaning and exporting AutoCAD drawing and 3D Modeling of the proposed house.

In this project, I was given chance to prepare signboard drawing, hoarding plan, and
temporary facilities structure for permit application for Majlis Daerah Kuala Selangor (Kuala
Selangor District Council). The purpose of preparing temporary work is to provide access to
the permanent works. I have identified the temporary facilities and structure as well as
complied with all relevant design codes, building regulations, Malaysia Standards and other
guidance and codes of practice to ensure sufficient working space and safety of personnel.
The height and type of hoarding to be erected has been indicated. The sectional detail of
signboard is to show the methods of support to ensure lateral stability.
Also, I understood that the signboard should be put near to the main entrance or the border
facing the main road and uncovered. The careful planning of construction site is to provide
safe and healthy working environment.

Amendment of architectural drawings was done according to client’s needs. I had to refer to

In this project, I was given chance to follow the Project Architect, Tasha to participate in the
site inspection. The purpose of the site inspection was to achieve Certificate of Partial
Compliance (CPC).
I assisted Tasha to identify possible problem areas by taking photographs. During the
inspection, architectural drawings are also used to identify the regulatory concerns ensuring
all information is technically accurate. Besides, it also allowed the architect and
representatives to discuss areas of concern and address issue within their area of expertise
more easily.
Finally, the inspection ended with an exit briefing. The briefing was held with the project
architect, contractor, clerk of work, panel members, representatives of engineers, quality
assurance. The briefing offers an opportunity for the panel to verify information again,
present its findings and tentative conclusions. Then, the project architect will submit the
report for final accreditation decision.

The project consist of condominium units, terrace garden, infinity pool. I was given
rendering task for client presentation purpose.
During inspection Procedures, architectural drawings are used to identify the regulatory
concerns ensuring all information is technically accurate. The inspection gives opportunity
for the construction team to discuss problems with representatives to resolve problems, to
achieve to achieve Certificate of Partial Compliance.

This project is built for the homeless people and acts as a temporary shelter for before the
placement of the needy. I was only involved in contract documentation and contract
management. My task was to prepare, print, and arrange drawings such as tender drawings,
C&S drawings, M&E drawings, door schedule and window schedule. The preparation of
drawings gives me the opportunity to understand color coding method and all the
requirements needed to produce a contract.

Arkitek Wan Choong or AWC in short, is a multi-disciplined company established since 2009, offering extensive professional experience through “ARCHITECTURE” related to the integration of the building industry. AWC always maintained a sincere commitment to the expression of sound design and progressive planning through skilled solution and dedication to quality and service. AWC has two major departments such as Architecture Department and Interior Design Department with the dedicated skillful and experienced staffs in their own related fields and expertise to provide service like architecture, design, master planning and project management. The department is mindful of the challenge brought about by the impact of our nation’s rapid progress, the necessary for greater technological innovation and the economical use of resources related to design and planning consultancy. The Architecture Department is fully computerized from office administration to design and project management. Architectural functions are supported by a team of dedicated design and technical stuff using the latest computer software as design production tools.

The internship is aimed at introducing us to the requirements, activities and operations involved in working in architectural / construction practices. The purpose is to facilitate the involvement of students in professional attachments to architectural practices in order to develop an understanding of the general nature, principles and procedure of law and legislation as applied to architectural drawings, especially the Building by-laws. The first task assigned to me was architectural renderings to illustrate the concept of the design for brochures. Design checking which requires clarification. House plans from AutoCAD files are meticulously transformed into 3D renderings with adherence to specifications and reference. Prepare Architectural Drawings for authority submission Additionally, contour lines were drawn to produce site section for authority submission. I had to create contour lines by noting the site elevation level. Curbs, floor level, road level, setbacks and boundary lines were also drawn. I was aware that different local authorities have different submission standards. The structural components were removed as the distance between the buildings were not required. Furthermore, I was assigned to establish the details requirement for product suppliers. Timber louvres schedule and struts schedule are needed to order material. In this project, I helped Liana to do 3D visualization for a client which has a big family. A staircase is proposed to facilitate two families staying together. I was only in charge of cleaning and exporting AutoCAD drawing and 3D Modeling of the proposed house. In this project, I was given chance to prepare signboard drawing, hoarding plan, and temporary facilities structure for permit application for Majlis Daerah Kuala Selangor (Kuala Selangor District Council). The purpose of preparing temporary work is to provide access to the permanent works. I have identified the temporary facilities and structure as well as complied with all relevant design codes, building regulations, Malaysia Standards and other guidance and codes of practice to ensure sufficient working space and safety of personnel. The height and type of hoarding to be erected has been indicated. The sectional detail of signboard is to show the methods of support to ensure lateral stability. Also, I understood that the signboard should be put near to the main entrance or the border facing the main road and uncovered. The careful planning of construction site is to provide safe and healthy working environment. In this project, I was given chance to follow the Project Architect, Tasha to participate in the site inspection. The purpose of the site inspection was to achieve Certificate of Partial Compliance (CPC). I assisted Tasha to identify possible problem areas by taking photographs. During the inspection, architectural drawings are also used to identify the regulatory concerns ensuring all information is technically accurate. Besides, it also allowed the architect and representatives to discuss areas of concern and address issue within their area of expertise more easily. Finally, the inspection ended with an exit briefing. The briefing was held with the project architect, contractor, clerk of work, panel members, representatives of engineers, quality assurance. The briefing offers an opportunity for the panel to verify information again, present its findings and tentative conclusions. Then, the project architect will submit the report for final accreditation decision.
