This document outlines a workshop on using computer-assisted language learning (CALL) to encourage vocabulary learning strategies online. The workshop objectives are to provide modeling and training techniques for expanding tool usage. Several tools and websites that will be modeled are listed, including Moodle, ReadingEnglish.net, WordChamp, and Google Docs. The modeling process involves introducing students to each tool, walking through the sign-up process, demonstrating the interface, and modeling tool usage. Additional training involves in-class practice opportunities assigned as homework and reviewing homework to identify problems and successes. Pre- and post-test results are presented for several tools to demonstrate student improvement in reading, vocabulary, and other skills from using the online resources.
