This document summarizes two main types of aquatic biomes: freshwater biomes, which include wetlands, rivers, lakes and ponds containing no salt in the water, and a variety of animal and plant life; and marine biomes, also known as the ocean, containing salt water and animal life like sharks, fish and whales, as well as plant life like plankton, algae, kelp and seaweed. Key features of each biome like climate and location are also outlined.
