ROBOTICS IN MILITARY
.
 Every one has different thoughts for what a robot is.
 There is no single definition of the term ‘robot’ which satisfies everyone.
 A robot is basically a machine developed to reduce human effort.
 According to the Encyclopedia Britannica a robot is ‘any automatically operated machine that replaces
human effort, though it may not resemble human beings in appearance or perform functions in a humanlike
manner’.
 Merriam-Webster describes a robot as a ‘machine that looks like a human being and performs various
complex acts
WHAT ARE ROBOTS ?
Here are some examples of
robots now a days
1) Medical Robots.

Medical robots allow surgeons to more
dexterously manipulate surgical
instruments or catheters inside the
patient's body during minimally invasive
surgeries.
►
During robotic procedures, surgeons
control the surgical instruments with
joysticks .
Some examples of robots used in hospitals
1) The da Vinci ® Surgical Robot. 2)The Xenex Germ-Zapping Robot 3)The cyber knife
2) Food Preparation.

Industrial robots are increasingly
being integrated in order to save
time and space, as well as
improving cleanliness and safety.
►
Food manufacturing robots are
commonly used in :
1) Dispensing.
2) Feed replacement.
3) Packing.
3) They are used in
agriculture
►
Drones are used to kill unwanted
insects.
►
To kill unwanted plants.
►
Time saving for farmers.
What is the thing that made robots
helpful.
 Artificial intelligence is the answer to this question.
 So what artificial intelligence is ?
 Artificial intelligence (AI) is wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with
building smart machines capable of performing tasks that typically require
human intelligence.
 It seemed impossible that how robots can think but scientists proved and added thinking
power in robots.
 Artificial intelligence has reduced lot of human work.
After the successful use of robots in daily
life, scientists thought to use robots in
military .
 Using robots with weapons was a
great challenge for scientists but
they still manage to do something
about it.
 This enhance their weapons.
 Saved their solders life.
 Saved time for them in war.
 And countless other uses.
Today, the nature of warfare has changed drastically, and technology plays a key role in
shaping warfare tactics. The threats faced by militaries are uncertain, with populated places
often being the battlefields, and enemies tactically innovative, highly networked, and
intelligent. This overpowers the superiority an army may have in terms of conventional
warfare capabilities. Technological advancements, however, have given countries the
capability to counter enemy attacks in an efficient and effective manner. One such
advancement has been in the field of military robotics.
Nowadays, robots in the military are an alternative to human soldiers. These robots are
being designed to handle a broader range of combat tasks, from picking off snipers to
carrying out target acquisition with greater efficiency as compared to human soldiers. They
can be deployed in situations and areas which are dangerous and can kill or maim troops.
Army robots can provide a backup during heavy artillery fire and reduce the number of
casualties. They can also map a potentially large hostile area by accurately detecting a variety
of threats
Lets discuss some advantages of robots in military
Intelligence,
Surveillance and
Reconnaissance (ISR)
one of the major applications where military
satellites are used.
Currently, armed forces worldwide no longer
rely on human scouts and instead use small
robots, which can remain almost invisible to
the enemy.
These robots send videos and images to the
ground station with the assistance of GPS.

Search and rescue is another
application where robots used in
the military can play a crucial role
in saving lives.
They can be operated remotely by
soldiers from a command center
They can manage to search, track,
and rescue even in nuclear,
biological, radiological, and
chemical environments.

Robots in the military are deployed in combat
support application for :

destroy enemy ships and sub marines.

What is the thing that made robots helpful.  Artificial intelligence is the answer to this question.  So what artificial intelligence is ?  Artificial intelligence (AI) is wide-ranging branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence.  It seemed impossible that how robots can think but scientists proved and added thinking power in robots.  Artificial intelligence has reduced lot of human work.

Technological advancements, however, have given countries the capability to counter enemy attacks in an efficient and effective manner. One such advancement has been in the field of military robotics. Nowadays, robots in the military are an alternative to human soldiers. These robots are being designed to handle a broader range of combat tasks, from picking off snipers to carrying out target acquisition with greater efficiency as compared to human soldiers. They can be deployed in situations and areas which are dangerous and can kill or maim troops. Army robots can provide a backup during heavy artillery fire and reduce the number of casualties. They can also map a potentially large hostile area by accurately detecting a variety of threats
