Appam
Ingredients
200 gms idli rice
200 gmsraw rice
100 gmsgrated coconut
Sugar to taste
Salt to taste
Pinch of baking powder or Yeast
Procedure
Soak and grind rice along with grated coconut.
Cover and allow to fermentin warm place for 8 hours.
Add in ½ tsp sugar, ½ tsp salt and pinch of baking soda.
Heat appam pan or appam chattiover medium flame and pour a ladleful of
batter into the pan.
Swirlthe pan to spread the batter in a circle motion.
Further cover and simmer for about2 minutes or until the edgesturn golden
brown and getscooked completely.
Finally, carefully remove the appam from the pan and serve with vegetable
stew / korma / sweetened Cardamom flavored Coconutmilk
