• Strong growth in membership
– As of 30 Sep 2016, APNIC has 5,868 Members
• Activity expenditure in line with budget estimates
• Started discussion on Activity Planning and Budget for 2017

8. IANA Stewardship Transition
• APNIC EC resolved to:
– Enter into Service Level Agreement for the IANA Numbering Services
(SLA) with ICANN
– Enter into IANA Intellectual Property Rights Community Agreement
(IANA IPR Community Agreement)
– Appoint the two community-elected NRO Number Council Members
as APNIC’s representatives to the IANA Numbering Services Review
Committee, with their term commencing on 1 January 2017 and
expiring on 31 Dec 2017, and further appoint an APNIC staff member
designated by the Director-General as the third, non-voting member
of the Review Committee

9. APNIC NIR Membership options analysis
• On 27 February 2012, EC resolved to impose a moratorium
on accepting new NIR applications while EC evaluates
future of NIR program
• KPMG is undertaking NIR framework analysis
• EC will further discuss this issue at the November EC
retreat in Brisbane

10. Engagement with ICANN
• ASO engagement with ICANN is based on the MoU
• ASO Address Council (AC) appoints two directors to the
ICANN Board of Directors
• APNIC EC met with Kuo Wei Wu, Ron Da Silva and
Maemura Akinori during APNIC 42

• APNIC Foundation incorporated in Hong Kong last week
• PricewaterhouseCoopers Hong Kong appointed as
Company Secretary
• Bank account processes underway
• Next steps: Charitable registration and Board development
processes
