4. APNIC EC Meetings
• The EC usually meets four times a year
• 4 face-to-face meetings and 1 teleconference held since
APNIC 41 AGM
• Joint Board meeting with RIPE NCC Executive Board in
May 2016
• EC Retreat held in Brisbane, 24-25 November 2016

• Largest ever membership growth in 2016
– As of 31 December 2016, APNIC has 5,994 Members
– 726 new members joined in 2016

• The EC resolved to designate an Investment Sub-
Committee, pursuant to paragraph 56 of the APNIC by-
laws, comprising APNIC's Treasurer and Business Director
from time to time, and a third person who has knowledge
and experience in investment matters, to advise the
Executive Council from time to time on investments matters
affecting APNIC. The EC resolved to appoint James
Spenceley and Richard Brown to the Investment Sub-
Committee

9. APNIC NIR Membership options analysis
• On 27 February 2012, EC resolved to impose a moratorium
on accepting new NIR applications while EC evaluates
future of NIR program
• KPMG conducted a review of APNIC NIR framework and
presented the final report to EC in November 2016
• EC continues discussion on the options

10. Engagement with ICANN
• ASO engagement with ICANN is based on the MoU
• ASO Address Council (AC) appoints two directors to the
ICANN Board of Directors
• APNIC EC met with Maemura Akinori, Asha Hemrajani,
Kaveh Ranjbar, and Ron Da Silva during APNIC 43
• Akinori and Ron are the ASO representatives to the ICANN
Board

11. IANA Review Committee
• The EC resolved to appoint the two community-elected
NRO Number Council Members as APNIC’s
representatives to the IANA Numbering Services Review
Committee, with their term commencing on 1 January 2017
and expiring on 31 December 2017, and further appoint an
APNIC staff member designated by the Director-General as
the third, non-voting member of the Review Committee
