Women s Concentration Camps In Nazi Germany
In the 1930s and 1940s, concentration camps were spread all across Nazi Germany. Within these
camps were various groups of people. During World War II, forced women s labor occurred in the
concentration camp of RavensbrГјck. Camp construction began in the year of 1938 near the village
of RavensbrГјck, approximately 50 miles north of the capital of Nazi Germany: Berlin. Once
Lichtenburg was closed in 1939, RavensbrГјck became the only camp designated almost exlusively
for women. The camp of RavensbrГјck became the largest concentration camp, in the German
Reich, for women. The first prisoners interned at RavensbrГјck were approximately 900 women
whom the SS had transferred from the Lichtenburg women s concentration camp in Saxony in May

During these, German soldiers isolated those that were of no use to them and killed them. These
prisoners were shot at first but, things changed in 1942. Useless prisoners were sent to the
Bernberg sanitarium. This was a killing center, containing gas chambers, under the Nazi regime
euthanasia program for people with disabilities. In the year of 1944, 70,000 more prisoners arrived
at RavensbrГјck. Because the Nazis took advantage of slave labor, many slave labor subcamps
were expanded onto RavensbrГјck. The women of RavensbrГјck worked... mostly in agricultural
and industrial fields (Fold3). Weapons, aircraft parts, and other things were made by women in
these subcamps. The killings at euthanasia centers continued until 1944. RavensbrГјck had a gas
chamber built in February 1945. 2,200 to 2,300 were killed in it by April 1945. Hungarians were
mostly killed in this chamber. They were mostly Jewish. Following the Hungarian population was
the Polish population and then Russian. The gas chamber is estimated to have killed between 5,000

Analysis Of Sarah Mclachlan Animal Cruelty Video By BC SPCA
In the Arms of the Angels If you have seen the commercial Sarah McLachlan Animal Cruelty
Video by BC SPCA you will know that it is filled with information and emotions. More
specifically, Sarah McLachlan expresses that if we donate just a little bit of money we will help
those animals in need. McLachlan says Will you be an angel for a helpless animal. (BC SPCA)
In this part of the video, Sarah McLachlan is suggesting that if we donate we will help animals
who have been beaten, starved, abused by giving them food, shelter and the right medicine. In
conclusion, BC SPCA s believe is expressed through Sarah McLachlan, the pictures and sad music,
and the facts and statistics throughout the video all contribute to making people feel like... Show

In addition to all the examples of pathos, they express a lot of ethos in the ad. This is mostly
shown through Sarah McLachlan. Not only does McLachlan speech throughout the video in a
soothing tone but she is also the one singing Angels in the background of the video. They don t
directly say it, but you can tell from the context that Sarah McLachlan is a huge advocate for the
BC SPCA company. This is most likely because she is seem sitting on the couch petting a rescued
dog and you can hear the sadness and pain in her voice. Sarah McLachlan is a famous person
and when people see the commercial and recognize her they will want to help and donate just
like she is. Sarah McLachlan is probably a role model to many and a lot of people want to follow
in the footsteps of their role model. The people who see this commercial they will trust it because
of Sarah McLachlan. The positive to this is that more people will want to donate to BC SPCA.
The next important technique used is logos because of all the facts in this video. The very first
fact shown is Every single hour in BC, an animal is violently abused (BC SPCA) this makes
people think of how many animals actually get hurt so often and angers them. The other fact
shown is Every day, innocent animals are abused, beaten, and neglected; and they are calling out
for help. (Sarah McLachlan) is one of the strongest facts in this video because it is so real and it

Competing Claims. The Disputes In The Scs Have Evolved
Competing Claims
The disputes in the SCS have evolved over decades and engage multiple regional states that have
territorial claims in the South China Sea including China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei,
Malaysia, and Taiwan. While not located directly in the region the United States, Australia, Japan,
and India all hold economic, territorial, and security concerns over the disputes. Specifically, the
United States has been involved in the territorial disputes to uphold maritime security laws and
freedom of navigation. The main contended island groups in the SCS include the Pratas, Spratlys,
Paracels Islands, and the Scarborough Shoal, all claimed by China. The Philippines claims the
Scarborough Shoal and a few of the Spratlys, while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Spratly Islands are also at the geographic center of the competing claims in the SCS. Many of
the islands are uninhabited, but this has led some nations to establish settlements on islands to
strengthen their claims.
In as much as China s increasingly assertive claims in the South China Sea to various islands are a
way to bolster their reach territorially for rights related to fishing and other resource rights, but
more importantly they also extend beyond that to exhibit China s global ambitions.
China does this by using their claimed territory to build and bolster military outposts with the
creation of airfields, thereby exerting their presence of control in the region.
International Norms that Shape the Disputes
The disputes in the SCS are subjugated to set of international norms which influence the response
made by states towards competing assertions of sovereignty over territory. UNCLOS is an essential
component in determining states claims in the SCS as it establishes a legal framework to govern
all uses of the oceans (Beckman, 2013, p. 1). It is also crucial in validating the claims made in the
SCS, because all states in the region have ratified the convention, including China, Vietnam,
Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei, and Indonesia. The convention does have limitations, in that it
does not help states determine sovereignty over land territory,

Essay on The Florida Everglades
Introduction
Maintaining ecological diversity is necessary for the survival of a biological community. In the
United States, American citizens are on the verge of irrevocably damaging one of the country s
most unique and diverse treasures the Florida Everglades. This national park is now the only
remaining patch of a river that used to span 120 miles from Lake Okeechobee to the Florida Bay.
Dikes and levees created by the Army Corps of Engineers in the late 1940 s drained this river to
reduce flooding and increase useable water for the development of the region. This major diversion
of water lead to a trickle down effect causing the continual decline of the environmental state of the
Everglades. Since then, debates over the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Truman / Address At Dedication of Everglades National Park(Carr, 1981)
Nearly as large as the state of New Jersey, the Everglades used to measure about 6,000 square
miles (Bucks, 1998). The Everglades was a complex wetland consisting of a mosaic of
ecosystems. The heart of the Everglades was a slow moving body of water with a span of one
hundred twenty miles long and forty miles wide with an average depth of six inches to two feet
of water (Lauber,1973). This broad shallow, often called the river of grass, was covered in a
blanket of saw grass (not actually a grass but a sedge) that slowly drained the water from its
main source, Lake Okeechobee, all the way to the southernmost tip of the state and into the
Florida Bay. Shaped much like a saucer, when full Lake Okeechobee would send its overflow
spilling into the shallows of the Everglades river. This natural filling process, along with the wet
season s rains, is what fed the flow of the Everglades and the underlying aquifers for centuries.
The grass in the Everglades was very important to the evolution of the land and the water. It rooted
itself in the soft limestone that arose from the ocean bottom from an accumulating deposition of
seashells. The saw grass prospered and went through the seasonal death and rebirth, covering the
limestone with its decaying leaves. A spongy mass of peat then arose from the decay soaking up
the rains in the wet season

Women And Patriarchy In The Winter s Tale
Men rule the world, but women rule the men. This has become glaringly obvious when deciding
how to analyse critically, patriarchy in Shakespeare s play The Winter s Tale. There is little doubt
that this play represents English patriarchal society in the Jacobean Era, and how the men in
power, or authority, treated the fairer sex : their wives, daughters, and women in general. In this
essay, elements examined will surround King Leontes and his relationships, such as with his old
friend King Polixenes of Bohemia, his young son Mamillius, and finally with the women in his
life, Queen Hermione, and Lady Paulina. Leontes is not only head of his household; he is also

Ancient Greece s Influence On Modern Day Fashion
Ancient Greece is not just ancient history, there is a relation between ancient Greece to modern
day in several different ways. Few relations are seen in fashion, architecture, and sculpting. To
see ancient Greece still have a relation in the 21st century is remarkable. The hallmark of
ancient Greek fashion was elaborate draping, not much detail and can also see images of Greek
styles painted on pottery. You see in today s clothing the white one shoulder dress for women
which is considered a formal dress, people relate it to the Greek Goddess dress . It flows over on
one side, with usually a gold accent belt to go along with the dress. In addition, there are sandals
that have been in fashion for few years now, called gladiators . The strapped... Show more content

The use of their patterns in pottery, architecture, and furniture, introduced how to decorate anything
in modern day. From paintings, to interior decorating, you see the use of ancient Greek patterns in
the industry. For sculpting, ancient Greece influenced sculpting today by introducing detail to
sculpting. They used marble, stone, limestone, and clay to create their sculptures. That has helped
us create the base of the materials we use today for sculpting and even with architecture. In modern
day architecture, we have almost simplified the way buildings look. Fourunately, ancient Greece
architectural influence is still seen mostly at formal banquet halls today. The columns in entry
ways, usually the capital is either doric or ionic. The interior well detailed with the use of marble
as flooring, and patterns is still seen in modern day architecture. Over all, ancient Greece s
influence is easily spotted today in interior decorating with the furniture and art work. The fashion
will continue to bring the patterns and styles, and will continue to relate it to ancient Greece since
it has been for several years

Celebrities Are Bad Role Models
Celebrities are bad role models
Do celebrities make bad role models? I believe they do. Kids see celebrities in the news everyday
and mimic what they do, thinking that they should be like them. But that is wrong. Most celebrities
don t know what they are doing in their life because they have a hard time telling reality from
fantasy. They are like you and me, but people think that they are more than that. Most magazines
and movies have pictures/videos of airbrushed celebrities and when teenager look at these they
start believing that looking like how celebrities do is the only way to be popular and loved.

Programs like Above the Influence, run by the Office of National Drug Protection, use the

goal to refrain from using drugs and drinking excessive amounts of booze because it sends a
message to fans that a life of drugs and alcohol is a satisfactory way to live.
Teenagers believe everything they do is never good enough, They feel as though if they re not
star footballers/world famous singers/A list celebrities, then they ve failed at life. Instead of
working to better the world or focus on their studies to get a good, well paying job, they

They worship them as gods, therefore the bad things they do (drink driving, fighting, hard drugs
etc.) isn t regarded as bad as they actually are. If they look up to someone that is almost naked in

they should act. This act could give them a permanent unwanted label. Therefore affecting their

What does it mean to be a celebrity? Celebrities are just famous usually well known for some type
of work they whether it be from acting, creating music, comedy, directing, or even social media
most celebrities are usually part of only one of these sub categories. Don t get me wrong there are
some multi hyphenate artists, but only one person exemplifies this more than Donald GloverAka

Coming from a home strict with Jehovah Witness beliefs from his family. From his perspective,

of the religion is teaching you that the world is an evil place, so trying to reconcile really liking

beliefs of religion pushed his curiosity to conform against it giving him inspiration him to find

Oral History Interview
The individual I chose to interview for my oral history project was actually the Vice Principal of
my school and his name was Mr. Clair. During our interview, he relayed to me the experiences he
went during the Civil Rights Movement. What I was told during this interview was surprisingly
different from what I was expecting, I was expecting to hear stories about how my interviewee
witnessed many people of color being abused and segregated to the extremes. However, what I
heard was a bit calmer than that and surprisingly, did not involve much violence at all. Mr. Clair
told me about how he was only a young boy, around ten years old when the civil rights movement
began to take off and in his school the main reaction he had was utter dismay. It was shocking and...

This was amusing to me because the Civil Rights Movement was having a direct impact on his
life. This forced him to make the choice to either support this movement that was occurring in his
school or just go on with his life. Being the young boy he was, my interviewee didn t really have
a reaction to this decision, he did what his parents decided to do. That isn t surprising because
most children usually follow their parents, however; what made this so interesting was the fact that
his parents made the decision not to do anything about the actions going on around them. If I was
put in this same situation I would probably do the same thing my interviewee did, just stay neutral
and don t actively participate in any actions against the Civil Rights Movement. I would do this
because I am a person who tends to mind my own business unless something actually has an effect
on my life. In this situation, having colored kids leave my school isn t really something that would

Laura Keene s The American Theater Business
Mary Frances Moss, better known as Laura Keene, is a British woman who took the American
theatre business by storm. Laura Keene is truly an inspiration. With her roots as an incredibly
talented actress, Laura Keene managed to branch out and accomplish many incredible feats that no
one thought possible for a woman in her time. She was the first woman in the United States to

On July 20th, 1826, in the city of Winchester, England, Mary Frances Moss was born. Her
parents, Jane Moss and Thomas King were ecstatic to be welcoming their fourth child into the
world, and their other children, Edward, Hannah, and Thomas, were all equally excited to meet
the newest edition to their family. Jane Moss was revered as a well educated woman, and
wanted to raise her children to be just as knowledgeable as she. Inspired particularly by Mary
Wollstonecraft s writings on the controversial topic of women s education, Jane Moss strongly
believed in educating her daughters just as meticulously as her sons. Mary was described as being
a sunny little girl with auburn hair and large, honey brown eyes; she could always be found with

Athenian Imperialism and her Changing Relations with Allies
Nature of Athenian Imperialism
Changing Relations with Allies
Lars Hoogvliet
After the conclusion of the Persian Wars (492 479BC) with Athens being the true victor, and before
the Peloponnesian War, a period of prosperity covered Athens, and they needed to devise new ways
to protect themselves and expand their wealth, and how this would affect their relations with allies.
The Athenians and their Allies was an organisation led by the Athenians in the 5th century, but is
now referred to as the Delian League or the Confederacy of Athens.
The official aim of the League was, according to Thucydides, to compensate themselves for their
losses [of the Persian War] by ravaging the territory of the King of Persia. The long term aim of...

The besiegement of Thasos revealed Athens true motivations behind the League and the future
plans for her allies. According to _Ancient Greece Using Sources_ Thasos was one of the largest
and richest members of the Delian League, and a conflict broke out between Athens and Thasos
over the gold mining on the island. Thasos then attempted to withdraw from the League, as the
Persians were no longer a threat in the Aegean, and Athens was demanding too much for too little in
return.
The League, under the control of Cimon, then besieged Thasos for two years, and destroyed their
city walls, confiscated their navy, closed their mint and annexed their possessions on the mainland.
According to Thucydides, the period from the revolt of Thasos to the ostracism of Cimon (465
461BC) was the time when the main friction between Sparta and Athens occurred and eventually
led to their war.
If Sparta really was willing to attack Athens, an apparent ally, then their relationship must have
been weak and forced. Was Sparta jealous of Athens wealth and power? Did they feel threatened by
the Athenians sudden harshness against their own allies ? Or it could have been a combination of
reasons. Thucydides didn t help either when his pro Athenian feelings got the better of him, this
was a time when Sparta was particularly friendly to Athens because of the courage displayed by
Athens against the Persians.

Maggie A Girl Of The Streets Escapism
In Stephen Crane s Maggie: A Girl of the Streets, the grim and realistic details of life in the
Bowery during the 1890s is depicted. Maggie, Jimmie, Mary, and Pete all have different means
of temporarily escaping the challenges they face. Alcohol, apathy, entertainment, denial, violence,
and blame are some of the forms of escapism they rely on. Throughout Maggie, each character s
methods of escapism correlate to his or her ability to survive life in the Bowery. Pete is
constantly seeking the best opportunity for himself. He begins to talk to Maggie because she is
one of the prettiest girls in the Bowery, and easy to win over. However, when Nellie returns and
begins to show interest in Pete, he immediately leaves Maggie for the more appealing woman. This

The Three Most Common Car Misconceptions
Tires affect your car s acceleration, braking, steering and handling. More importantly, they affect the
safety of both yourself and your passengers. Despite this, people don t pay enough attention to
proper tire maintenance. The problem is often complicated because of misguided ideas about what
proper tirecare and maintenance really is. Three of these all too common car misconceptions are
explored below:
If I Rarely Drive My Car and the Tread Is Good, My Tires Are Fine
If your tire rubber never aged from oxidation, that might be true. Oxygen in the air reacts with
most things. It s the reason why iron rusts, fires burn, and many types of rocks have a reddish
color. The rubber in your tires also react with oxygen. This limits their life to

Domestic Abuse In Purple Hibiscus
According to http://domesticabuseshelter.org/, about 400 women die due to domestic abuse from
their partners every year. One of those women could have easily been Beatris, the mother in Purple
Hibiscus, but she acted in time before she became just another name on the list of women who ve
experienced domestic abuse. The story of a christian familyfrom Nigeria is a very powerful one.
Anyone who has or still is experiencing abuse should take the time to read it. The book Purple
Hibiscus focuses on a 14 year old girl named Kambili who has a very abusive father named
Eugene. Though he punishes Kambili, her brother, Jaja, and her mother, Beatris in the most
gruesome ways, she still has the utmost respect for him. Over the course of 2 years, Kambili
watches her father kill her mother s unborn babies, punish and smother their family, and then tell
them he did what he did... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She was very afraid to tell her father and was sure she d get punished. I wanted to say I came

elicit a new ability from Kambili, but reveals how afraid she is of disappointing her father.
Kambili also disproves Horace s statement in the beginning of the novel when she believes
everything Eugene tells her. Kambili cannot bond with her grandfather, Papa Nnukwu, because
her father has been telling her that he is a heathen. Because Papa Nnukwu is a pagan. Papa
would be proud that I had said that. Kambili is a very timid person who doesn t speak up for
herself and believes everything Eugene puts in her head. This shows adversities don t bring out
new abilities in people because it only pushes Kambili to be more vulnerable and less able to tell
how she really feels. Deep down inside, she does not truly believe her grandfather is a

Detective Mccauley Observation
On March 13, 2017, I took part in a ride along with Detective Jason McCauley. Before going into
this ride along I did not know what kind of person I would be with as well as what kind of events I
would be experiencing.
When I was first met detective McCauley he came off a very nice person. He had a very quiet
demeanor, which I learned was helpful in the work he did. Detective McCauley is not an officer
that is usually on patrol, but he investigates crimes that happen on or around campus. Although he
does not say much, he does listen and that is a good trait because of the line of work he is in.
Detective McCauley didn t use his authority in a negative way, he was very approachable and
attempted to connect with those he spoke with. When he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

mediation. As I said before although the mediation wasn t used in a civil law situation such as
divorce or child custody, the officers used mediation to help calm the parties down do they were
able to get to the bottom of the call. In the lecture, Chapter 7 Slides it showed a pyramid of the
early stages of the criminal justice process. I could witness four of the stages which was Criminal
Offense, contact with police, filing report, and the arrest. Although I witnessed it from the polices
view. I also witness the Formal steps in the criminal justice process. For example, when the police
spoke with the people involved in the domestic violence incident they were investigating the
situation, and when the officers made their arrest because they had probable cause because the man

First And Fourth Crusades Comparison Essay
Many have priorly stated that history repeats itself time and time again. This can be seen
throughout history but, especially so during the Crusades. This paper will discuss the parallels
between the First and Fourth Crusade. We will also take a brief look at the aftermath of the Fourth
Crusade and how it compares to the aftermath of the Second Crusade. The First Crusadewas
launched in 1095 by Pope Urban II in response to a call for aid by the Byzantines. The resulting
army swept through Asia Minor and into the Near East conquering several cities along the way.
Upon the successful conquering of the region, the crusaders divide the land among themselves
forming four crusader states: County of Edessa, Principality of Antioch, County of Tripoli, and the
Kingdom of Jerusalem. This takeover and dividing of territory is incredibly similar to what occurs
in the fourth crusade. Upon conquering Constantinople in April of 1204, the crusaders proceed to
divide the land among themselves much like they did earlier. They divided the land... Show more

This crusade would grant remission of sin to those who undertook the crusade. Harris again
remarks on the similarities, The reaction in the papal curia when news arrived that
Constantinople had fallen was much the same as it had been when Jerusalem had been lost to
Saladin in 1187 (pg 195 2nd Edition). Pope Urban IV justifies this new crusade by saying that
without Constantinople, the way to Jerusalem was blocked and any efforts to retake the Holy
Land would fail. This call to crusade is similar to the one that launches the Third Crusade led by
Richard Coeur de Lion to retake Jerusalem. However, here these parallels end. Unlike in the
Third Crusade, Pope Urban IV s call for crusade fails and no armies are sent forth. At least none
that could constitute a strict crusade due to a lack of promised remission of

The Reunion Character Analysis
When I read The Reunion, immediately I was introduced to the character of Hans Schwarz. He
was introduced as being bored, as he was, Half asleep, doodling and daydreaming. (2) I saw him
as being a typical bored boy that you would see in any classroom in America. When Konradin
entered the picture, I immediately saw a difference in Hanz. He was suddenly very attentive and
alert, noticing things that other boys may not have been paying attention to. Hans noticed how
Konradin organized his pencils, and how elegant and polite he was (2). When Hans decides that he
wants to become friendswith Konradin, you see him suddenly become very determined and
motivated. He is now participating in class, and doing so well that people who had thought nothing
of him before, took a new interest. The results startled my teachers. They turned to me with a new
hope and a touching joy. (3) That new motivationhas changed not only how the characters in the
story saw him, but how I saw him as well. I saw that he had a strength of character and
determination that was different from other kids. There was no whining about how long it was
taking to become friends, only Hans trying harder and harder to impress Konradin. During one of
his classes, a teacher calls for volunteers to do a seemingly difficult gymnastics routine, Hans is the
only one who volunteered, simply to make himself stand out to Konradin (3). To me, that shows a
real motivation, because, it takes courage to do something hard in front

The United States And Western Europe
Today, there are a large number of foreign people fleeing their country of origins to arrive into first
world nations such as the United States and Western Europe. The news have been publishing a
migration crisis , which is many people from the middle east and other unstable countries e.g. Syria,
Iraq, Palestine, Eritrea etc. and arriving in western Europein almost millions each month and
thousands each day. The reason for that is because their countries of origins are not safe places
live in causing their life to be in danger. The root causes is civil war, poverty, corrupt government.

began after the uprising in Middle Eastern countries, the civil war in Syria was the byproduct of
the uprising plus with the assistance of foreign help. However other countries where migrants are

For instance the migrants that are fleeing for unstable nations are not just form Syria but also
from Iraq. In 2001 the U.S. began sending troops to Iraq to fight of terrorists. Instead the U.S.

Overview
What is an Independent Broker Dealer?
Broker dealers are specialized financial services companies that trade securities for their own
account or on behalf of their customers. Broker dealers are regulated under the Securities Exchange
Act by the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), a unit of the US government. Some regulatory
authority is further delegated to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), a self
regulatory organization. Many states also regulate broker dealers under separate state securities
laws known as blue sky laws.
The IBD business model focuses on comprehensive financial planning services and unbiased
investment advice. IBD firms also share a number of other similar business characteristics. They
generally clear their securities business on a fully disclosed basis; primarily engage in the sale of
packaged products, such as mutual funds and variable insurance products; take a comprehensive
approach to their clients financial goals and objectives; and provide investment advisory services
through either affiliated registered investment adviser firms or such firms owned by their financial
advisor.

Noah Reflection
Like the Bible, the movie starts off at the very beginning. Eventually, Noah tells his children the
story of the construction of earth which is accurate to Genesis, though he mixes the second and
fourth days. The Bible says that the sun and the moon was formed on the fourth day not the
second day. When it refers to recent state of the land, the film sets up two factions: Noah and
Lemech, Tubal Cain and the good men, the evil men. The evil are offspring of Cain, which is
accurate to what the Biblesays in Chapter 3. According to that chapter, Cain moved east and
constructed towns and eventually he had kids. In the film, Noah s wife was named Naamah and
the film made it seem as if she was an equivalent to Noah. She discusses with him about raising
their children and about the ark. In the Bible, like most females in the story, she is mentioned to
as Noah s wife and all we know is that she had boys and that she was on the ark. It seems that
things such as her unfruitfulness and then her curing at the hands of Methuselah, was added to the
movie. We are aware that she had kids, but the twin girls are not stated.
Na el the female that Noah makes Ham depart is not in the Bible. As I stated previously, the Bible
says that Ham s spouse was on the ark. Furthermore, in the film Noah finds out about the flood
because of two somewhat complicating predictive thoughts, both of which find him immersed in
water. In the text, its more direct, and God simply tells him what s occurring.

Using The Computers For Personal Websites
It has come to my attention as well as the Deputy Chief, that there has been an incident that
involved the misconduct use of the computers for personal websites. The resources that we have
in the office is strictly for official use only, and not for personal usage. As of today myself and the
Deputy Chief of Policehave decided that there will a zero tolerance policy when it comes to
personal use of the computers. The zero tolerance policy is there for the protection of you and
the police department. We are striving to deal with this issue in a fast and organized fashion to
ensure that any and all parties involved will be able to turn back to work as soon as possible. In
addition, with this in mind all person s identification numbers and passwords are being recorded,
every time that you log onto the computers and input your identification number and password
will be displayed to the computer analysis. And once the report is in it will be sent to me at the
end of the day, and you will be notified at the end of your shift. This is established by you signing
off on the report, this states that you are consenting to using the computer at such time and day.
Once it is established that your identification number is being used for improper usage of the
computers, there will no longer be a formal warning. You will automatically receive a suspension
without pay until such event is resolved, and you will have to take a mandatory class on the
policies of the department before

How Did Alexander The Great Influence Greek Culture
Alexander the Great played an important role in the spread and dominance of Greek culture
across the known world at the time. He was able to help spread the Greek culture he loved across
the Persian Empire while also go further than any other Greek. This involved the use of military
force and great diplomacy while conquering the empire. His first encounter with the Persians
occurred at Granicus River. The Macedonian victory at Granicus helped Alexander to continue
his expedition. There are few sources on the accounts of Alexander and his personal life and his
conquest of the world. Three of the main ancient sources come from Arrian, Diodorus, and
Plutarch, however theses narratives were written years after his life. As Paul Cartledge states, For
this reason, and because Alexander soon passed from the territory of factual history proper to the
plane of myth and legend, the search for him has been likened to that for the historical Jesus. Much
was written about both men, but practically nothing contemporary has survived, and very little

Sustained Release Analysis
Time released supplements are dissolved slowly and deliver a steady amount of vitamins over a
period of time. Sustained release has a longer half life and produces stable levels of the vitamin
throughout the day (Cascade, Kalali, Weisler, 2008). They are enteric coated, which protects them
from being digested in the stomach. They contain tiny pellets of the vitamin, each individually
coated so that their contents are steadily released overtime (United States Pharmacopeia, 2012).
Extended release is designed to prolong absorption of vitamins with shorter half lives. This allows
for longer dosing intervals and decreases fluctuations in serum levels (Perucca, 2009). One
example is extended release niacin which helps avoid side effects of flushing ... Show more content

I Believe My Art Is Better Than All Of Yours
One stormy night, in a modern day London, four artists were having dinner within an old English
pub. The artists were sitting around a table close to a window beaten with rain. Each of the artists
are eating a large platter of fish and chips while drinking a few pints of English stout. The artist
with his back to the wall, Xia Gui, was a Chinese landscape artist. Most known for painting
landscapes of mountains and streams. Sitting to his left, with her back to the window, is Agnes

In Disputing Some Of The Main Accusations And So-Called
In disputing some of the main accusations and so called evidence presented in the Blue Book, the
German Colonial Office argues that Germany s African protectorates were acquired by peaceful
means and were built upon by German enterprise and industry under a colonial policy of liberality
towards other nations. They claim that, since Great Britain declared willingness to recognize
German territory in African, the British cannot make the argument that South West Africa shouldn t
have fallen into German hands, since they initially supported it during the Berlin Conferences. Prior
to the war, there were multiple British and American sources that praise Germany s development
efforts in Africa. The White Book even claims, many eminent English... Show more content on

If anything, they claim that German colonizers were merely following the example of the British,
who were much more experienced in the suppression and conquering of native populations. They
rhetorically demand that Britain recognize their own atrocities before accusing other powers,
saying, Physician, heal thyself!
The Treaty of Versailles
Due to the Allies victory and Great Britain s prominent position among the Allied powers, the
evidence and rhetoric from the 1918 Blue Book prevailed over the counterarguments presented in
the 1919 German White Book, resulting Germany s forced renouncement of her overseas territory.
Overall, the Treaty of Versailles reassigned German boundaries and assigned liability for
reparations. The two main articles that concern the former German protectorates are Article 22,
which concerns their distribution, and Article 119, which describes the terms of the German
colonies surrender. While Article 119 provides more information concerning the general compliance
of Germany, the decisions made in Article 22 show the true influence that the British had on the
Treaty s mandates and the degree to which the Allied powers benefitted from Germany s colonial
losses.

A Biological Catalyst A Biological catalyst is a catalyst that is produced organically. In other
words, a cell makes it. It is usually a protein or steroid molecule that works to catalyse a specific

Reactions take energy to get them started. This energy is called the activation energy. Enzymes

Salivary amylase is an enzyme that breaks down big molecules into smaller ones. Amylase enzyme
breaks starch molecules up into two residue units (a residue is a glucose molecule, or monomer of

glucose molecules split off from the starch molecule form maltose. This maltose is the product of
catalytic action by the enzyme amylase on the substrate. The substrate is the starch.
2.) What are intracellular/ extracellular enzymes? Enzymes are proteins. They are very important

By the time the sun barely peeks over the horizon, several others and I have been working the

Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice utilises setting to reveal Darcy s true character and allows
Elizabeth to gain a true understanding of his nature. Pemberley estate is placed at the centre of
the novel both literally and figuratively. In terms of Pemberley s literal meaning, it informs the

Elizabeth Bennet s visit to Pemeberly illuminates Darcy s moral fibre, she is enchanted by its

Hearing Loss Intervention
In today s time, there is a need for new prevention, assessment, and intervention strategies for adults
experiencing hearing loss accompanied by, or at risk for, dementia (Pichora Fuller, 2015).
Research has found that individuals with hearing loss are at risk for developing dementia, and
dementia is also more prevalent in individuals with dementia. Patients with dementia are recognized

A Case Study Involving The Telecommunications Industry
Derek Hees
American Military University
ECON600 (Managerial Economics)
8/02/2015
Abstract Each firm that sells a product or service belongs to a certain market structure. In this paper
I will analyze four of the main market structures that are involved in the world economy. Each
market structure is unique to the type of product, the barriers for entering the market, and the
pricing strategy. The final portion of this paper is a case study involving the telecommunications
industry.
Perfect Competition
Perfect competition is the concept that for a given product or service, there are multiple providers
that provide a similar product or service. No one company can truly control the market because
there are multiple competitors creating the same product for the same price (Samuelson Marks,
2012). Price cannot be determined by a single company, the overall supply and demand for a
product determines the price. In perfect competition perfectly elastic demand exists across
competitors. This means that a firm cannot decide to raise prices indiscriminately because their
customers will abandon them for their competitors. This also means that every competing firm in
the market is a price taker. A price taker has such a small role in the supply and demand of a
product that they must accept the price determined by the market. The competitors must sell the
product for relatively the same price. Inversely the consumer must accept the price of the product
because

Characteristics Of Nocturnal Animals
Nocturnal animals are more active at night than daytime. These animals sleep during daytime and
hunt their food at night. They have special adaptation that helps them to survive at night. They
prefer to come out at night to escape the daytime heat though some nocturnal animals can be
seen during the day and others spend the whole day resting or sleeping. There are millions of
animals and some of it is nocturnal animals. We haven t discovered all of it and other nocturnal
animals become extinct as years passed by, mainly because of their declining habitat and human
encroachment of land for developmental projects. The deforestation is one example of it. They
cut trees that result to lose the animal s habitats though they did that for human s sake. We,

echolocation to hunt food. Next is the competition. There is less competition at night. A diurnal,

Essay Kingdom Parables
Then the disciples came and said to him, Why do you speak to them in parables? And he
answered them, To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to
them it has not been given. For to him who has more will be given, and he will have abundance;
but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away. (Matthew 13:10 12)
Jesus explains everything about the kingdom of God through parables. He also gives the reasons for
using parables to teach the people. He tells greater truths through simple stories with clear and
simple meanings. Explaining truths through stories was part of the Palestinian culture at that time.
Jesus used the imagery of farming and shepherding in his parables because those are the ... Show

In certain people, the word of God falls like seeds falling amidst thistles. They are people
burdened with earthly labors, greedy after gain, and fond of pleasures. Like weeds growing up
and choking up the growth of seeds, vanity and desires for illusory comforts choke up everything
good and holy in people.
And, finally, people who accept and follow the word of God, changing their way of life in line
with the teaching of God s word, are compared to the fertile earth that yields manifold fruits.
These people not only hear the word of God, but firmly decide to follow Him, and yield hundred
fold, sixty fold, and thirty fold fruits of good works, depending upon their capabilities and efforts.
This parable shows that God s word is the first step of the kingdom of God.
2) Parable of the weeds (Matthew 13: 24 30)
This describes growth of God s kingdom on this earth. The weeds are growing side by side with
the good seeds. In this parable Jesus speaks of the deplorable fact that, in the temporary life on this
earth, the faithful and righteous members of God s Kingdom have to live along disgraceful
members who live in evil ways. Though there are times of struggle, trials, temptations, worries and
deceit, the good seed

The Ramayana Of Valmiki And Sita Sings The Blues
The Ramayana of Valmiki and Sita Sings the Blues
The epic story of Rama and Sita, as portrayed by Valmiki s Ramayana and the modern day film
Sita sings the Blues are two different versions of the same story which contain several contrasts as
well as similarities. The Ramayana is the ancient version which was written by a sage named
Valmiki in 550 B.C.E, featuring a love story between an ideal prince and an ideal woman. It
outlines the adventures of Rama in his journey to find his abducted wife Sita. Rama is portrayed as
an avatar, being the eighth incarnation of one of the Hindu gods Vishnu, while Sita is representing
Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of light. The modern day version of the Ramayana is seen in Sita
Sings the Blues, where the animator Nina Paley is relating her love story to that of Sita s
predicament. This paper will compare and contrast the epic story of Valmiki s Ramayana and Sita
Sings the Blues in the quest for power, honor, faithfulness and the conflict between good and evil.
The author Valmiki in Ramayana discussed in detail human relationships, such as those between
husband and wife, parents and children, siblings, rulers, and the ruled as shown in the story. It is
often referred to as a holy text as well as a guide to social practices and attitudes. Nina, the
animator of the film, Sita Sings the Blues, was seen reading the Ramayana constantly because it
provided some sort of comfort to her. In the Ramayana, paragraph one, it says It is a heroic epic

Morris that no one has ever escaped Alcatraz. He lets Morris know that many have tried to

ever escape under his supervision. Morris in turn uses this statement from the warden as his
motivation to once again escape from prison. Morris has previously escaped every prison he has
been placed in, and this happens to be the reason for his transfer to Alcatraz. Two other inmates,
Clarence and John Anglinwho are biological brothers, assist in the notorious escape and manage to

Male Nurse Stereotypes
Male Nurses
A Study of Discrimination and Gender Stereotyping
For many years, both men and women have tried to overcome gender roles in the workplace.
Female nurses have traditionally been the majority and because of this, many of the expectations of
the nursing profession seem to favor the feminine roles. In the 1850 s, a British woman by the name
of Florence Nightingale became the ideal image of the professional nurse when she discovered
sanitation issues that brought the mortality rates down from 47.9% to 2.2% for soldiers in barracks
during the Crimean War. Upon returning home she discovered she had become arguably the most
famous Victorian with the exception of Queen Victoria herself (BBC News, 2006 as cited in

According to Susan LaRocco, males felt it was difficult to establish themselves in new jobs, and
felt the need to prove themselves (2007). This need to prove ones self is not true of all males.
Some feel that they were immediately valued because of their minority status. Michael Sims
feels that male nurses are perceived as more knowledgeable. He feels that they are often treated
with more respect because they are perceived as being more serious about their jobs. Tyler
Durdan felt that he was welcomed wholeheartedly by the females. He felt that he was valued as a

Essay on How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization
Roles of the Catholic Church in Western civilization has been scrambled with the times past and
development of Western society. Regardless of the fact that the West is no longer entirely Catholic,
the Catholic tradition is still strong in Western countries. The church has been a very important
foundation of public facilities like schooling, Western art, culture and philosophy; and influential
player in religion. In many ways it has wanted to have an impact on Western approaches to pros
and cons in numerous areas. It has over many periods of time, spread the teachings of Jesus within
the Western World

The Pope s request for forgiveness applied to the Church understood in this second sense. That

When I was younger, I thought that the seven day story was the first part of how the earth came
to. Then the Adam and Eve was the second part. Like in the first one they say the animals were
created but not how the animals got their names, but the second story does. Also realizing that
my five year old self forgot a lot about the two. Like I didn t know that Eve was created from
Adams rib. If I had to try to explain to someone how and when the Earth and everything else was
created is not easy to do. The How wouldn t be very difficult but the when still would give me
some difficulties. I would use the seven days to creation most likely to explain how everthing got
here with bits of the Adam and Eve story. But by just reading the two creation stories I would have
great difficulty explaining when the earth was created.
I have learned bunches of information reading the two creation stories. Like they were two
separate accounts of the creation of earth not just sections. The major differences of the two
were more than I remember from when I was a small boy. Also how difficult it would be to try to
explain to someone when the world got here, and the easier part of telling how it got here. This
assignment was one I enjoyed and learned a great deal on even though it wasn t along

Puerto Rico Narrative
Koki, Koki, Koki . It was Christmas night, where me and my family took a roundtrip to Puerto
Rico, to visit my father s side of the family. As I m walking out of the airplane, and into the
airport, I hear these noises Koki, Koki, Koki , in a repetitive melody. I start wondering what is
that noise and where is it coming from , and behold, it is a small frog. That was the first thing I
noticed once I stepped inside Puerto Ricos airport. But why did my familyand I book a trip to
Puerto Rico? To see frogs? Certainly not. My family is very disconnected, so we decided to fly
to Puerto Rico Christmas night and spend a week there to recommunicate with our family. But in
the midst of visiting my family, we also went to festivals to celebrate the upcoming year. Oh my
was the first thing that came up in mind, as I saw that I was surrounded by mountains everywhere.
The airport itself was on top of a mountain, and knowing how I am scared of heights, I began to
think what did I just get myself into ?
As the next day went by, we went to go see my family where they lived in a town called El Rincon

The Battle Of The Rhine River
crossing the Rhine River as they captured hundreds of thousands of the Germany s Army Group
B troops (Murphy Bailey, 1997). Meanwhile, the Red Army had accessed Australia, and both
fronts swiftly entered Berlin. As a result, the German territory got pounded by the Allied aircraft
s strategic bombing campaigns, which destroyed several cities at night (Stern Weinberg, 1995).
Germany placed a fierce defense in the first several months of 1945 but quickly lost territory as a
result of running out of supplies and exhausting its options (Hinde Rotblat, 2003). The Allied
forces then, in April 1945, pushed through the German defensive front in Italy. What followed was
the East meeting the West on 25th April 1945 on River Elbe, the point at which the American
Troops met the Soviet near Torgau in Germany (Hinde Rotblat, 2003). As a result, the Third Reich
came to an end, and the Soviet took Berlin (Hinde Rotblat, 2003; Stern Weinberg, 1995). As the
Western Allies closed in on the Germans, Hitler greatly hoped for the separation of the alliance that
he had forged against, and he believed the Germans loss in the First World War was due to the
collapse of the home front (Hinde Rotblat, 2003). He, therefore, made the assumption that the
dictatorship establishment and the systematic killing of all the Jews would finally guarantee him
victory (Hinde Rotblat, 2003). Hitler however never succeeded, and when he sensed defeat, he
decided to commit suicide with his mistress

The North American Nursing Diagnosis Association Essay
The North American Nursing Diagnosis Association uses Gordon s Framework as a foundation
for its nursing diagnosis (Edelman Mandle 2014). Gordon s framework consists of functional
health patterns as defined by Endleman and Mandle (2014) is, viewing the individual as a whole
being using interrelated behavioral areas (p. 150). There are eleven patterns used as a tool to
collect information during assessments in order to create a plan for validation and communication
among the nursing profession. It focuses on five areas; pattern, individual environment, age
development, functional and lastly cultural. With the various detailed questions related to the
health perception, is a method devised by Marjory Gordon to be used by nurses in the nursing
process to provide a more comprehensive nursing assessment of the patient. Marjorie Gordon
(1987) proposed functional health patterns as a guide for establishing a comprehensive nursing
data base. These 11 categories make possible a systematic and standardized approach to data
collection, and enable the nurse to determine the following aspects of health and human function:

Possible Difficulties In College Essay examples
The results of going to college the very first time vary with different people. Some people will be
frightened by the way of life change, and the transition from living with family to being by their
selves. On the other hand some people will be ready to move on, and to proceed with their future,
and will jump at the moment to take another class that will better themselves. College will provide
difficulties around every corner but will also provide the opportunities to go around those
difficulties to succeed.
When in an online college a difficulty may arise where a class will interfere with outside activities
such as work and will usually temporize with their school work. Furthermore a student, with the

Likewise participating in class after work will lessen the number of hours that will be used for
outside activities with friends and family. This may cause some people to feel overworked and
become frustrated, which may cause the student to loose sight of the overall picture.
On the contrary some people will find college easy due to their ability to adapt to a different
environment. They will rely on friends and fellow schoolmates to push them along until the end.
For instance a student may tell all of his friends about what classes that they are taking, and what
assignments are pressuring them. As a result of this method friends will constantly interact with
them, pressure them into completing the classes on time and completely, and will usually
provide an input of idea s and knowledge in for the assignments. Sometimes in classes there may
be an assignment that will be to difficult to complete based on knowledge, however the ability to
go to a classmate and ask for help, or even call a family member with the knowledge in a certain
subject, will always be an available tool. Similarly online is a great tool, schools will provide a
forum or a chat room to interact with classmates, and will usually provide a section for specific
homework in order for students to post questions, ultimately this will provide the opportunity for the
class to input ideas and see the required steps upon

  • 2. Women s Concentration Camps In Nazi Germany In the 1930s and 1940s, concentration camps were spread all across Nazi Germany. Within these camps were various groups of people. During World War II, forced women s labor occurred in the concentration camp of RavensbrГјck. Camp construction began in the year of 1938 near the village of RavensbrГјck, approximately 50 miles north of the capital of Nazi Germany: Berlin. Once Lichtenburg was closed in 1939, RavensbrГјck became the only camp designated almost exlusively for women. The camp of RavensbrГјck became the largest concentration camp, in the German Reich, for women. The first prisoners interned at RavensbrГјck were approximately 900 women whom the SS had transferred from the Lichtenburg women s concentration camp in Saxony in May 1939 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During these, German soldiers isolated those that were of no use to them and killed them. These prisoners were shot at first but, things changed in 1942. Useless prisoners were sent to the Bernberg sanitarium. This was a killing center, containing gas chambers, under the Nazi regime euthanasia program for people with disabilities. In the year of 1944, 70,000 more prisoners arrived at RavensbrГјck. Because the Nazis took advantage of slave labor, many slave labor subcamps were expanded onto RavensbrГјck. The women of RavensbrГјck worked... mostly in agricultural and industrial fields (Fold3). Weapons, aircraft parts, and other things were made by women in these subcamps. The killings at euthanasia centers continued until 1944. RavensbrГјck had a gas chamber built in February 1945. 2,200 to 2,300 were killed in it by April 1945. Hungarians were mostly killed in this chamber. They were mostly Jewish. Following the Hungarian population was the Polish population and then Russian. Analysis Of Sarah Mclachlan Animal Cruelty Video By BC SPCA In the Arms of the Angels If you have seen the commercial Sarah McLachlan Animal Cruelty Video by BC SPCA you will know that it is filled with information and emotions. More specifically, Sarah McLachlan expresses that if we donate just a little bit of money we will help those animals in need. McLachlan says Will you be an angel for a helpless animal. (BC SPCA) In this part of the video, Sarah McLachlan is suggesting that if we donate we will help animals who have been beaten, starved, abused by giving them food, shelter and the right medicine. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition to all the examples of pathos, they express a lot of ethos in the ad. This is mostly shown through Sarah McLachlan. Not only does McLachlan speech throughout the video in a soothing tone but she is also the one singing Angels in the background of the video. They don t directly say it, but you can tell from the context that Sarah McLachlan is a huge advocate for the BC SPCA company. This is most likely because she is seem sitting on the couch petting a rescued dog and you can hear the sadness and pain in her voice. Sarah McLachlan is a famous person and when people see the commercial and recognize her they will want to help and donate just like she is. Sarah McLachlan is probably a role model to many and a lot of people want to follow in the footsteps of their role model. The people who see this commercial they will trust it because of Sarah McLachlan. The positive to this is that more people will want to donate to BC SPCA. The next important technique used is logos because of all the facts in this video. The very first fact shown is Every single hour in BC, an animal is violently abused (BC SPCA) this makes people think of how many animals actually get hurt so often and angers them. • 4. Competing Claims. The Disputes In The Scs Have Evolved Competing Claims The disputes in the SCS have evolved over decades and engage multiple regional states that have territorial claims in the South China Sea including China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, and Taiwan. While not located directly in the region the United States, Australia, Japan, and India all hold economic, territorial, and security concerns over the disputes. Specifically, the United States has been involved in the territorial disputes to uphold maritime security laws and freedom of navigation. The main contended island groups in the SCS include the Pratas, Spratlys, Paracels Islands, and the Scarborough Shoal, all claimed by China. The Philippines claims the Scarborough Shoal and a few of the Spratlys, while ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Spratly Islands are also at the geographic center of the competing claims in the SCS. Many of the islands are uninhabited, but this has led some nations to establish settlements on islands to strengthen their claims. In as much as China s increasingly assertive claims in the South China Sea to various islands are a way to bolster their reach territorially for rights related to fishing and other resource rights, but more importantly they also extend beyond that to exhibit China s global ambitions. China does this by using their claimed territory to build and bolster military outposts with the creation of airfields, thereby exerting their presence of control in the region. International Norms that Shape the Disputes The disputes in the SCS are subjugated to set of international norms which influence the response made by states towards competing assertions of sovereignty over territory. UNCLOS is an essential component in determining states claims in the SCS as it establishes a legal framework to govern all uses of the oceans (Beckman, 2013, p. 1). It is also crucial in validating the claims made in the SCS, because all states in the region have ratified the convention, including China, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei, and Indonesia. The convention does have limitations, in that it does not help states determine sovereignty over land territory, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay on The Florida Everglades Introduction Maintaining ecological diversity is necessary for the survival of a biological community. In the United States, American citizens are on the verge of irrevocably damaging one of the country s most unique and diverse treasures the Florida Everglades. This national park is now the only remaining patch of a river that used to span 120 miles from Lake Okeechobee to the Florida Bay. Dikes and levees created by the Army Corps of Engineers in the late 1940 s drained this river to reduce flooding and increase useable water for the development of the region. This major diversion of water lead to a trickle down effect causing the continual decline of the environmental state of the Everglades. Since then, debates over the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Truman / Address At Dedication of Everglades National Park(Carr, 1981) Nearly as large as the state of New Jersey, the Everglades used to measure about 6,000 square miles (Bucks, 1998). The Everglades was a complex wetland consisting of a mosaic of ecosystems. The heart of the Everglades was a slow moving body of water with a span of one hundred twenty miles long and forty miles wide with an average depth of six inches to two feet of water (Lauber,1973). This broad shallow, often called the river of grass, was covered in a blanket of saw grass (not actually a grass but a sedge) that slowly drained the water from its main source, Lake Okeechobee, all the way to the southernmost tip of the state and into the Florida Bay. Shaped much like a saucer, when full Lake Okeechobee would send its overflow spilling into the shallows of the Everglades river. This natural filling process, along with the wet season s rains, is what fed the flow of the Everglades and the underlying aquifers for centuries. The grass in the Everglades was very important to the evolution of the land and the water. It rooted itself in the soft limestone that arose from the ocean bottom from an accumulating deposition of seashells. The saw grass prospered and went through the seasonal death and rebirth, covering the limestone with its decaying leaves. A spongy mass of peat then arose from the decay soaking up the rains in the wet season ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Women And Patriarchy In The Winter s Tale Men rule the world, but women rule the men. This has become glaringly obvious when deciding how to analyse critically, patriarchy in Shakespeare s play The Winter s Tale. There is little doubt that this play represents English patriarchal society in the Jacobean Era, and how the men in power, or authority, treated the fairer sex : their wives, daughters, and women in general. In this essay, elements examined will surround King Leontes and his relationships, such as with his old friend King Polixenes of Bohemia, his young son Mamillius, and finally with the women in his life, Queen Hermione, and Lady Paulina. A mother son dynamic develops between Paulina and her King, and as his penance for past sins, is managed by the woman he once labelled an audacious lady (2.3.43) and mankind witch (2.3.68). Few relations are seen in fashion, architecture, and sculpting. To see ancient Greece still have a relation in the 21st century is remarkable. The hallmark of ancient Greek fashion was elaborate draping, not much detail and can also see images of Greek styles painted on pottery. You see in today s clothing the white one shoulder dress for women which is considered a formal dress, people relate it to the Greek Goddess dress . From paintings, to interior decorating, you see the use of ancient Greek patterns in the industry. For sculpting, ancient Greece influenced sculpting today by introducing detail to sculpting. They used marble, stone, limestone, and clay to create their sculptures. That has helped us create the base of the materials we use today for sculpting and even with architecture. In modern day architecture, we have almost simplified the way buildings look. Fourunately, ancient Greece architectural influence is still seen mostly at formal banquet halls today. Kids see celebrities in the news everyday and mimic what they do, thinking that they should be like them. But that is wrong. Most celebrities don t know what they are doing in their life because they have a hard time telling reality from fantasy. They are like you and me, but people think that they are more than that. Most magazines and movies have pictures/videos of airbrushed celebrities and when teenager look at these they start believing that looking like how celebrities do is the only way to be popular and loved. The Athenians and their Allies was an organisation led by the Athenians in the 5th century, but is now referred to as the Delian League or the Confederacy of Athens. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The besiegement of Thasos revealed Athens true motivations behind the League and the future plans for her allies. According to _Ancient Greece Using Sources_ Thasos was one of the largest and richest members of the Delian League, and a conflict broke out between Athens and Thasos over the gold mining on the island. Thasos then attempted to withdraw from the League, as the Persians were no longer a threat in the Aegean, and Athens was demanding too much for too little in return. The League, under the control of Cimon, then besieged Thasos for two years, and destroyed their city walls, confiscated their navy, closed their mint and annexed their possessions on the mainland. According to Thucydides, the period from the revolt of Thasos to the ostracism of Cimon (465 461BC) was the time when the main friction between Sparta and Athens occurred and eventually led to their war. If Sparta really was willing to attack Athens, an apparent ally, then their relationship must have been weak and forced. Was Sparta jealous of Athens wealth and power? Did they feel threatened by the Athenians sudden harshness against their own allies ? Or it could have been a combination of reasons. This can be seen throughout history but, especially so during the Crusades. This paper will discuss the parallels between the First and Fourth Crusade. We will also take a brief look at the aftermath of the Fourth Crusade and how it compares to the aftermath of the Second Crusade. The First Crusadewas launched in 1095 by Pope Urban II in response to a call for aid by the Byzantines. The resulting army swept through Asia Minor and into the Near East conquering several cities along the way. Upon the successful conquering of the region, the crusaders divide the land among themselves forming four crusader states: County of Edessa, Principality of Antioch, County of Tripoli, and the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Pope Urban IV justifies this new crusade by saying that without Constantinople, the way to Jerusalem was blocked and any efforts to retake the Holy Land would fail. This call to crusade is similar to the one that launches the Third Crusade led by Richard Coeur de Lion to retake Jerusalem. However, here these parallels end. Eventually, Noah tells his children the story of the construction of earth which is accurate to Genesis, though he mixes the second and fourth days. When it refers to recent state of the land, the film sets up two factions: Noah and Lemech, Tubal Cain and the good men, the evil men. The evil are offspring of Cain, which is accurate to what the Biblesays in Chapter 3. According to that chapter, Cain moved east and constructed towns and eventually he had kids. This involved the use of military force and great diplomacy while conquering the empire. His first encounter with the Persians occurred at Granicus River. The Macedonian victory at Granicus helped Alexander to continue his expedition. There are few sources on the accounts of Alexander and his personal life and his conquest of the world. Three of the main ancient sources come from Arrian, Diodorus, and Plutarch, however theses narratives were written years after his life. As Paul Cartledge states, For this reason, and because Alexander soon passed from the territory of factual history proper to the plane of myth and legend, the search for him has been likened to that for the historical Jesus. Much was written about both men, but practically nothing contemporary has survived, and very little indeed without a severely prejudiced axe to grind. (PC 11) However, these sources... Sustained release has a longer half life and produces stable levels of the vitamin throughout the day (Cascade, Kalali, Weisler, 2008). They contain tiny pellets of the vitamin, each individually coated so that their contents are steadily released overtime (United States Pharmacopeia, 2012). A Case Study Involving The Telecommunications Industry Derek Hees American Military University ECON600 (Managerial Economics) 8/02/2015 Abstract Each firm that sells a product or service belongs to a certain market structure. In this paper I will analyze four of the main market structures that are involved in the world economy. Each market structure is unique to the type of product, the barriers for entering the market, and the pricing strategy. The final portion of this paper is a case study involving the telecommunications industry. Perfect Competition Perfect competition is the concept that for a given product or service, there are multiple providers that provide a similar product or service. No one company can truly control the market because there are multiple competitors creating the same product for the same price (Samuelson Marks, 2012). Price cannot be determined by a single company, the overall supply and demand for a product determines the price. In perfect competition perfectly elastic demand exists across competitors. This means that a firm cannot decide to raise prices indiscriminately because their customers will abandon them for their competitors. This also means that every competing firm in the market is a price taker. A price taker has such a small role in the supply and demand of a product that they must accept the price determined by the market. The competitors must sell the product for relatively the same price. Inversely the consumer must accept the price of the product because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I start wondering what is that noise and where is it coming from , and behold, it is a small frog. That was the first thing I noticed once I stepped inside Puerto Ricos airport. But why did my familyand I book a trip to Puerto Rico? To see frogs? Certainly not. My family is very disconnected, so we decided to fly to Puerto Rico Christmas night and spend a week there to recommunicate with our family. But in the midst of visiting my family, we also went to festivals to celebrate the upcoming year. Oh my was the first thing that came up in mind, as I saw that I was surrounded by mountains everywhere. The airport itself was on top of a mountain, and knowing how I am scared of heights, I began to think what did I just get myself into ? As the next day went by, we went to go see my family where they lived in a town called El Rincon . It was an hour drive from where we were staying in. The hotel we were staying in, was located in Aguadilla. As we were driving to El ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 52. The Battle Of The Rhine River crossing the Rhine River as they captured hundreds of thousands of the Germany s Army Group B troops (Murphy Bailey, 1997). Meanwhile, the Red Army had accessed Australia, and both fronts swiftly entered Berlin. As a result, the German territory got pounded by the Allied aircraft s strategic bombing campaigns, which destroyed several cities at night (Stern Weinberg, 1995). Germany placed a fierce defense in the first several months of 1945 but quickly lost territory as a result of running out of supplies and exhausting its options (Hinde Rotblat, 2003). The Allied forces then, in April 1945, pushed through the German defensive front in Italy. What followed was the East meeting the West on 25th April 1945 on River Elbe, the point at which the American Troops met the Soviet near Torgau in Germany (Hinde Rotblat, 2003). As a result, the Third Reich came to an end, and the Soviet took Berlin (Hinde Rotblat, 2003; Stern Weinberg, 1995). As the Western Allies closed in on the Germans, Hitler greatly hoped for the separation of the alliance that he had forged against, and he believed the Germans loss in the First World War was due to the collapse of the home front (Hinde Rotblat, 2003). He, therefore, made the assumption that the dictatorship establishment and the systematic killing of all the Jews would finally guarantee him victory (Hinde Rotblat, 2003). Hitler however never succeeded, and when he sensed defeat, he decided to commit suicide with his mistress ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From then her true colors start to shine across each page and she comes into herself fully. Darcy begins by ignoring her at a public dance and then further on for disturbing the possible link between Jane, her sister, and Charles Bingley. There is definite reasoning behind it but Elizabeth is quick to judge those she encountered making it an important part of her overcoming her obstacles to become the romantic of the novel. For a while the reader sits there as she judges these first impressions of Darcy and his actions so hard when all they can think about is how they are going to fall in love so hard at the end. Since her father is not wealthy enough to carry on his estate with no sons she practically must marry to get some money back to the Bennet s. Darcy starts to fall for her, because apparently how could you not, and proposes to marriage right away.
