The reason of the success of the organization is also due to the presence of the social media
Facebook and its personalized App to provide support at one s fingertips.
With the above approaches, Diabetes Australia has been able to achieve the brand personality of
being compassionate and authoritative. It has also gained a strong commitment because of the
useful informative sessions provided by the organization to those who are affected by diabetes.
1.2.2 Weaknesses
The organization has been able to connect to the audience affected by this cause with the bottom up
approach of marketing but has not been able to reach the 80% of Australians who are prone to be
affected by this health issue. It has not been able to reach the voluminous target of ambivalent (80%
of Australian community).
The strategy has not been successful to deliver sustainable, attitudinal and behavioral change
amongst the chosen demographic, which restricts the organization from achieving the description
of bold as their brand personality.
1.2.3 Opportunities
The Social media presence of the organization is pretty good. It has been able to attract the

Similarities Between Electricity And Electricity
There will be one moment in our life that could be important and symbolic to us. It could be
simple ones or even complicated ones. Sometimes, seeing electricity for the first time could
transform someone s life. Even searching for your cultural identity could be significant to you.
Electricity... and An Unknown... both have similarities and differences. One main similarity in
both poems is that they have the same theme: discovery. In Electricity... it is about discovering
electric lights for the first time. On the other hand, An Unknown... is about discovering your other
cultural identity. The entire poem of An Unknown... is one long stanza, like a never ending
conversation. This suggests that the poet does not want her experience to end; she wants it to
last forever and she does not want her memories of her experience to disappear. Electricity... by
Marcia Douglas contains three stanzas of a free verse poem. There is massive difference in both
poems regarding their structure. Electricity... takes the reader on a journey on how electricity
transformed the lives of people in a village. The poem begins with a strong sense of anticipation. In
An Unknown... the poet shares her experience during her visit in India. The poem engages the

She treats henna like a form of decoration; but it will not last forever and it is only temporary. The
henna is described as: firm peacock lines... this reflects Alvi s Indian side where it is full of bright

children s eyes; they have come to the realisation that electric lights is something temporary and
dull. Already the children... lit their lamps... dark journey... this shows how the mood of excitement
quickly deteriorates. Both poets have described things that cannot last forever, so you should

Alaska s Coal Clean Coal
Alaska is widely known for its vast untouched wilderness, abundant wildlife, and its coal. Sam
Weis explains in The Local and Worldwide Impacts of Mining Alaska s Coal, that Alaska is home
to an estimated 5.5 trillion tons of coal, which is approximately one eighth of all the coal on Earth

Mining enough coal to supply the world, would really take a toll on Alaska s climate because of
its vast environmental impact. In the article, There Is No Such Thing as Clean Coal the National
Resource Defense Council (NRDC) states that the main sources of pollution due to the production
of coal is methane emissions and particular matter emissions (2). Not only is the burning of coal
harmful to the environment, the coal transportation after it is mined also poses a huge threat. The
NRDC clarifies that diesel burning trucks, trains, and barges that transport coal spew dangerous
chemicals into the earth s atmosphere (2). Not only is it harmful to the atmosphere, but also to the
land and water if it happens to be spilled. The EPA states, truck records indicate that truck
accidents near streams are likely over the long period of mining operations (19). The addition of
these toxic emissions to the earth will greatly influence the issue of global warming on our planet
and could potentially become irreparable which would make life much harder for future generations.
Coal mining Alaska will also negatively affect its abundant wildlife. The mining of the coal will
ultimately force the wildlife out of the area, which will cause major problems. Since so much land

When the settlers invaded the Indian s homeland, they weren t happy about it. They were very
angry. Some were forced out of their homeland, and others decided to stay because they were
afraid to leave. The people who stayed were put into reservations. Reservations still exist today; it
is land that is reserved for Indians under a treaty or an agreement. The Indians didn t want to be put

reservations and they still exist today. The Indian Country Today states that there is a housing crisis

Raymond Pettibon Art Analysis
Raymond Pettibon art work, Untitled (The bright flatness), on page 535 fig 25 35 shows a tiny
surfer in an enormous wave in a California landscape. The subject matter is a large wave that a
surfer is riding. The content of the artwork could be how people are a small compared to the big
world we live in. I think this piece of art was painted on with watercolor and a type of paper.
These lines in the artwork is very loose and free. These lines in the artwork reminds me of
Vincent van Gogh, The Starry Night lines in his artwork which are loose ,but the viewer can tell
what the meaning of the picture is. In the artwork Untitled (The bright flatness) colors mostly
used were the primary colors blue and red. The surfer is red and the waves of the ocean is blue.
The wave colorcould be a local color that the viewers know the ocean color is blue. The blue color
has different tints from dark blue to lightblue. The wave in the art is three dimensional it represents
the wave as if it was being seen in an ocean. In the picture, there is a highlight where the ocean has
lighter white spots throughout the wave. Another highlight would be... Show more content on

purpose is to show the California landscape and its beauty. Untitled (The bright flatness) is
interesting to me because my passion in life is the marine world. In this artwork it shows how
that surfer is so small compare to the ocean. I think that we are small compared to the outside
world like the ocean. The artwork Untitled ( The bright flatness) is a successful work of art ,and
the art work is successful because the artist was a successful by the 1990 s. Surfer art was repeated

Illustrations of Poly-Pharmacology in Dietary...
One of the most explicit illustrations of poly pharmacology in dietary phyto nutrient is Curcumin.
One can consider curcumin as an ideal candidate for preventive therapeutic action in cancer as a
sole agent or in combination with traditional therapies, because of its ability to target multiple
number of signaling pathways relevant to cancer [168,169]. One of the approaches for
identification of polypharmacological chemical compounds is virtual screening of all potential
molecular targets of interest for interactions with these chemicals [171]. Another approach to
enable virtual screening of the receptorome attempts to generate a compendium of computational
predictors (e.g., QSAR models or structure based models). Consequently, these constructed
models can be employed in the virtual screening of chemical libraries for recognition of novel
ligands for a panel of molecular targets and to predict polypharmacological matrices for these all
chemicals incorporated in the chemical database. Finally, a database of models can be built by
consolidation of these QSAR or structure based models. This database can be employed in parallel
virtual screening of chemical compounds to indentify the interacting partners from all the pre
characterized members of the receptor ome. Past research studies have successfully demonstrated
that the generation of QSAR models and subsequent model based virtual screening of chemical
libraries has led to the identification of chemically diverse

LED s or Light Emitting Diodes have been around since the 60 s and I think they are starting to
decline. The new technology slowly replacing LED s are OLED s or Organic Light Emitting
Diodes. Now these are special because they contain small quantities of organic material such as
carbon. OLED s feature many vase improvements over its older friend LED s, these include:
flexibility, durability, transparency and the list goes on! Although this all comes with an
unfortunately large price tag.
While OLED s are a great technology nowadays they have not always been so advanced. The
first working OLED was created in 1987 by Ching W. Tang and Steven Van Slyke at Eastman
Kodak. Although this was the first technically working OLED, electroluminescence the principle
OLED s use was first reported in 1953 by A. Bernanose, M. Comte, and P. Vonaux, using a high

Essay On The Movie Coraline
In terms of plot, the movie adaptation of Neil Gaiman s Coraline is extremely true to the source
material. It still tells the story of a young girl who grows unappreciative of her real family and
finds a magical door in her new home that leads to a better, fantastical version of the family she
has now. The creepiness and scary moments are also true to form, with this world being only a
copy of the real world, created by the Other Mother in an attempt to trap Coralineforever. The quest
to rescue the three ghost children is almost exactly the same, with two of their souls being found
in Miss Spink and Forcible s theater and Mr. B s circus. But since the movie added a scene in
which an enticing garden is used as an item to gain Coraline s trust in the Other Mother s fake
world, one of the ghost souls was placed in this location instead. Another major difference
between the book and the movie is the addition of the character Wybie. He acts as a source of
inside knowledge about The Pink Palace and helps kill the Other Mother s hand at the climax of
the movie, while in the book Coraline gathered her information about her home from her parents as
well as Miss Spink and Forcible, and killed the Other Mother s hand by tricking it rather than
crushing it. The use of stop motion animation was also a benefactor in bringing this terrifying story
to a visual format, as stop motion tends to look uncanny and unsettling at times. Both works are
masterpieces of writing and storytelling, and

Demographics of the Aging Population
The aging population is one the most rapidly increasing issue across the nation today. According to
demographic data, it has been gradually developing over the last two hundred years. It has become
a factor in many countries. The aging population is a result of declining humanity, longevity, and
decreasing fertility with fewer young people. As the population ages there will be a major strain

A wellness program can be done at home costing very little to nothing extra, whereas, without the
wellness program the diabetic would end up on expensive medication and needing to see their

When it come to the demographics of the aging population on the marketing needs and service,
patient access to care and satisfaction sometimes suffers. Providing refined services to the patients
brought on new pressure for advancement. Unlike health care, the cost of production decreased
with technology improvements in other industries. Health care organization has been faced with
large capital expenditures in order to keep up with technology to provide better health care

is more cost effective. There have been times that a patient has been handed off from department to

have had to wait longer to see the doctor.
Addressing the challenges that the aging population is facing has become more signification as

Julia Stewart Positive Reinforcement
Motivational skills are very important in a workplace. Positive reinforcement is the process of
strengthening a behavior by contingently presenting something pleasing (Kreitner Kinicki, 2013).
Importantly, a behavior is strengthened when it increases in frequency, and weakened when it
decreases in frequency (Kreitner Kinicki, 2013). Highly motivated employees will work harder,
therefore, be more productive than those employees without motivation. Improving the quality of
working life increases the probability that productivity will improve (Miller, 1977). Julia Stewart

In Greek Religion , Walter Burkert informs his readers mostly about the Greeks religious beliefs.
In section one, Burkert begins to discuss the history of the Early Bronze Age, such as the
vocabulary of Indo European and the religion of the Minoan Mycenaeans. He mentions the
different cult places which include: caves, temples, graves, as well as peak, tree, and house
sanctuaries. For example, a cult includes the Minoan Tree and Pillar Cult; the pillars and trees
were sacred, however, they were not worshipped. He also goes on to explain about Minoan Deities,
Mycenaean Gods and Linear B, and the Dark Age ; he talks about the evidence that exists of Linear
A and Linear B, such as the tablets recovered from Crete and Knossos. In section two, Burkert
describes the different kinds of rituals and symbols; the bull was a type of symbol from the
Hellenistic tradition, and there were festivals that celebrated the bull itself. Different kinds of rituals
Burkert explains include: animal sacrifice, blood and fire rituals, gift offering and libation, votive
offerings, prayer, dancing, hymns, masks, festivals, and purification. The Anthesteria Festival is
described in depth, such as that it occurred in the springtime for three days; additionally, the reason
for the festival is described. Burkert mentions different types of sanctuaries like the altar and the

Unknown Blood Cells Lab Report
Introduction When foreign antigens enter the body, chemical signals are dispatched to different
parts of the immune system and send it into action. B lymphocytes produce the antigen specific
antibodies. The antibodies will then attach to the antigen/virus and T lymphocytes will attack the
antigen that the antibodyhas bound itself to. Once the antigen has been eliminated phagocytes,
which are cells that absorb bacteria and other small particles/substances, will come through and
absorb the remains of the antigen/infection. In a forensic setting antibodies can also be used to
identify an unknown blood/protein. The purpose of this experiment is to use the process of

Miles Davis Influence
Question 11
Miles Davis was one of the greatest and most important figures in jazz history. Miles Dewey
Davis III was a musician, composer, arranger, producer and bandleader all in one. Davis was at
the forefront of almost every major development in jazz after World War 2. He was one of the most
influential and innovative musicians of the twentieth century along with Charlie Parker and Louis
Armstrong. His versatility landed him at the forefront of bebop, cool jazz, modal, hard bop and
fusion (Kirker, 2005:1). His sound went on to influence many other newer forms of music today
such as pop, soul, R amp;B, funk and rap. As one of the last trumpet players, Davis employed a

from cool jazz and announced the arrival of hard bop (Sales, 1992:171). Hard bop was the
evolvement and development from bop during the 1950s and 1960s, often regarded as a reaction to
the restraint and intellectualism of cool jazz (Kingman, 1990:389).
With the installation of the Miles Davis Quintet, Davis picked up where his late forties sessions
left off. Eschewing the rhythmic and harmonic complexity of the prevalent bebop, Davis was
given space to play long, legato and essentially melodic lines, where he would begin to explore
modal music, his lifelong obsession. Modal jazz is a new venture for jazz both harmonically
and structurally, it no longer used the chord progressions of standard tunes as the basis for
improvisation replaced by a succession of scales on which the performer improvised instead
(Kingman, 1990:390). Davis had definitely gone a long way in his trumpet playing since
collaborating with Parker. No longer dependant on bebop phrasing, he chose a minimalist
approach instead. Ornate phrasing gave way to a smattering of tones. He was also utilizing a
Harmon mute, sometimes adding reverb, which had a whisper effect and personalised his sound.
Elements of texture and silence between notes were becoming more dominant (Kirker, 2005:2). By
1958, he had freed himself by using modal scales and slower moving harmonies. Milestones

America. Not all of the colonies were like this. For example, in (1629) non separatists Puritans
left from England and started a new colony called the Massachusetts Bay Colony. People who
did not agree with their views were often banished. Anne Hutchinson was one of these people
who were banished. She was banished because she argued against the Puritan belief of
predestination. She had a trial and from there was forced out of the colony. Another person that
was kicked out of the colony was a man named Roger Williams. Williams was exiled from the
colony because he was found to have new and dangerous opinions that disagreed with already
established Puritan beliefs. Also, men that were not a part of a Puritan congregation could not vote
in provincial elections. Freedom in this colony was somewhat limited.
Colonies of colonial America had different views when it came to religion, but they all had one
thing in common. All of the colonies had to some extent,

Designing A Model For A Computer As A Soft Copy And The...
In the literature analysis, alternates are used to differentiate between the characteristics of the
information that had been saved in files on a computer as a soft copy and the information that
had been saved in less thoroughly reviewed outlet. This review identifies more focused literature
requirements for the literature survey phase of the research. More specific topics give a solid
background and knowledge to develop a model and methodology to solve the research problems.
The study of this research builds the prototype model. Building stage is the phase of the
requirements, design, specifying software tools, and designing the interfaces. Prototyping stage is
the phase of coding and testing. The study of this research will prove that the model works. The
model provides prototyping stage developer with outlines to follow. There are three approaches.
The first is top down. That is, the research starts from the top component and ends with the bottom
component. The second is bottom up; the research starts from the bottom component and ends with
the top component. The third is hybrid; the research starts from the middle of the model and ends
with both the top and bottom components. 2.1 Health Informatics When physiology is defined as

Charles Perrault And The Brothers Grimm And Grimm Brothers
Although there are many versions of virtually every fairy tale known to man, not all of the different
adaptations are contrasting. The bases of stories tend to remain the same, due to the fact that the
main plots are unvarying. Throughout history, these famous fairytales have been passed on by
word of mouth. The two most well known authors who wrote their interpretations of fairy tales are
French author Charles Perrault (1628 1703), and The Brothers Grimm/ Jacob (1785 1863) and
Wilhelm Grimm (1786 1859). Although Perrault wrote down his thoughts much earlier than the
Grimm Brothers, the brothers appear to have gained more credit and fame from their works. One
of the darkest and most intriguing work of theirs is the story of Bluebeard. The... Show more content

Unlike in the version written by Perault, the Grimm Brothers take a creative path in which it is
not Bluebeard s appearance that makes others feel on edge when he is around, it is evident that
that the reason people find his presence discomforting is far deeper than his exterior. The list of
variances could go on and on, however, the main difference is the color of the man s beard. In
the fairy tale written by Perrault, Bluebeard indeed has a blue beard. However, this is not the case
in the tale written by the Grimm Brothers, where in reality Bluebeard s beard is veritably black.
Not only are there evident differences in the information presented in the writing, but in fact, the
style of writing is much different as well. With these main variances in the ideas of the story, one
may think that the tale of Bluebeard may differ between the two different versions, however that is
not necessarily the case.
When reading the adaptation by Perrault, the reader may find the story slightly complex and
confusing. They ceased not to extol and envy the happiness of their friend (Perrault 2). It can be
noted that Perrault uses words that may seem to be very formal and professional sounding,
however, the reader can easily find themselves getting lost in the ocean of complex words and
phrases. The writing of the Brothers Grimm, however, is much more understandable and to the
point. They shortened the scene where Bluebeard s wife invites her friends over, which is the

Methods to Reduce Air Pollution Essay
Methods to Reduce Air Pollution
Air pollution is nothing new. Ever since the discovery of fire, less than desirable substances have
been vented into the air. One of the first air pollution regulations dates back to the fourteenth
century, when King Edward I banned the burning of sea coal in lime kilns. U.S. air pollution
regulations have their roots in British Common Law. But regardless of those efforts, air pollution
continues to be a serious local and world wide problem. Pollution is the pressure within the air of
one or more substances that are harmful to human health, welfare, animal or plant life, or property.
In the past with air pollution we included mainly the outdoor pollutants, although in recent years
this is not the case. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, August 6, 1945. Miss Toshinki Sasaki, a clerk in the East
Asia Tin Works factory, just sat down in the plant office and was turning to converse with the girl at

Sasaki spent two days and nights under the rubble with her leg crushed. Her leg became swollen

The profitability is not high, but at least, the fixed costs will be paid and maybe some profitability
will be achieved.
Opportunity Costs are used to measure the costs of the resources. They can be defined as the cost
of an alternative that must be forgone in order to pursue a certain action, or the benefits received
by taking an alternative action, or, still, the difference in return between a chosen investment and
one that was passed up. As example, the benefit of studying a MBA and spending money on it or
save the money for future expenses, or better saying, using the money to pay expenses in daily basis.
Conclusion
Various terms are used to describe costs. Having an understanding of these terms will provide a
better insight to managers and companies on making budget decisions, efficiently. Not only the
ones described above should be considered, but also all types of costs related to the decision in
effect. Efficient managers will considered all aspects related to the analyses in question.

Theory of Multiple Intelligences and Personal Experience
personal names I fleetingly recall being in fourth grade and my teacher, Mr. Pox, was instructing
us how to tell time. The feeling of trying to overcome this hurdle to recognize the big hand is for
the minutes and the little hand correlates with the hours, was such a great feat for a fourth grader.
At the time, that felt like such an accomplishment yet there would be many more and greater to
come. According to Howard Gardner s theory of multiple intelligencesin his essay A Rounded
Version: Theory of Multiple Intelligences, he contends that we have more intelligence than what a
test could prove because we all each excel in different areas of life (Gardner and... Show more

Listening to the other ideas instead of just my own, taught me to compromise. This was a way
to work well with people and get things done quickly to get the best grade I wanted. In school I
have seen students who are timid than most and feel awkward working with people. They work
better by viewing things alone allowing them to excel in individual assignments. They display an
Intrapersonal Intelligence guiding them to be self sufficient. They have a greater sense of their
self enabling them to utilize that knowledge. Learning your own self could be said to help you
work with others but it helps to look from your own feeling and notice others around you. People
get farther working with others than always working alone.
Linguistic intelligence is not only the ability to make a proper sentence with error free grammar,
but it includes the expertise to formulate words that convey a clear and thoughtful message.
Learning a language is a highly sought linguistic intelligence and some might even say very
necessary. I have, not mastered yet, learned three languages; Swahili, English and Spanish are in
order of what I have been taught first in my life. Mastering these three languages is a long
journey far from over. Sometimes in my Spanish class, I feel that I will never learn all of the
language in time or be secure when I speak it. I remind myself, though, that there are many words
in English that I still have not encountered yet in my life and

Drug Resistance And Its Effect On The Clinical Benefit Of...
Drug resistance has become an obstacle in maximizing the clinical benefit of ART and
consequently, routine HIV genotyping is recommended prior to ART initiation during viral
rebounds and on the failure of an ART regimen. Successful PCR amplification of PR and RT
genes is essential regardless of which method is used for sequencing. Results from this study
show that not only it is possible to detect but also to characterize virus that continues to be
produced in low levels in such patients. The samples with LLV were amplified to determine
whether LLV present in patients on effective ART regimen resulted from the development of
drug resistance. Out of the 31 samples that were amplified using the optimized protocol, seven
had no product by the time library preparation was set up. The likelihood of the loss of PCR
products during clean up exists. There is a high possibility of mishandling the sample during
shipping and receiving of the samples. Instead of screw cap tubes, the samples were shipped on a

lack of proper shipping and storage techniques could have led to samples spilling or possible

The Importance Of The Land Of Opportunity In America
Land of Opportunity for Everyone. The United States is a very diverse country, which makes it
the most unique out of every other place in the world. What helps this wonderful country of
opportunity become what it is to this day is because of the immigrants who traveled here.
Coming from a family of immigrants I know first hand what my grandparents and parents had to
go through to earn the life they gave me today. Immigrants are an important part in our society.
They do the work that most people don t want to do. As in, work in factories, construction sites,
and on farms. Immigrants help run a high demand country, so why get rid of them? They have a
purpose here. Everyone around the world knows that America is the Land of Opportunity .
People work so hard just to come here and start a new life. They all want to experience the

you see their country s trouble and how over there they have it much worse. Wouldn t you want to

Due to a Bunsen burner being incorporated into the experiment, long hair could be a major hazard,

If the Bunsen burner flame has been turned off and needed to be packed away, another risk would
be detaching the pipe from the gas tap. Consequently, if the gas taps are not turned off before
removing the Bunsen burner, gas could be released into the classroom.

Diary Of Anne Frank Diary Analysis
The Diary of Anne Frank is story about a young teenage girl that was trying to hide from being
persecuted from the Nazis because of her religion. During that time, survival was the only thing
that was on her mind: How long she and her family were going to last. They hid behind a
bookcase that led to an attic. They stayed there for a while until they were found a couple years
later. They were taken back to a concentration camp. She died shortly after from a disease called
typhus. The only thing that remains is her diary that her father found to preserve her memory and
insight to be in the mindof a teenage girl during the war. The diary has many themes but the main
ones are stress, grief, and mental illness.
Stress was unavoidable during this time of her life. She was born in a wealthy family and
worrying about suitors for potential marriage material. She was worrying if she would be good
enough for them or if they ll be good enough for her father. She went from being young and care
free to being young and terrified. The day that they received the letter to work in the camps was
the day that her youth and innocence died. She didn t worry about her suitors as much after that
because at the end of the day, she could never trust them enough to tell them her secrets and
innermost thoughts. She had to confide in a diary that her father gave her to help cope with what
was happening around her. She hardly had any peace of mind knowing that they couldn t stay
hiding for long. She

Cummings, T.G and Worley raises the concept about change
, for the trends to occur the organization
must undergo through changes. Cummings is able to sew together the organization with the
emerging trends to bring the concept of change making him the main source (Kelley, 2002).
Findings Technology
Some of the major trends in surrounding areas of organizational development in training and
strategy in Japan are mostly brought about by challenges. These challenges then lead to problem
solving which results to change thus new trends are formed. It is thus of great importance to
discuss the macro issues responsible for bringing about these trends. These may include changes in
technology. Japan is among the leading countries when it comes to science and technology; this
puts Japan in a situation where it is ever changing in terms of infrastructure and developments.
Technology brings about new ideas into reality, this leads to the organizations having to draft new
ways to adopt.
When organizations are training their employees, the emerging trends do not allow them to leave
technology behind; this includes the use of mobile phones and online training. The result is
increased efficiency in work. The organization will tend to undertake those projects that are useful,
and resourceful, hence it will easily adapt to changes brought about by technology. Also these
trends are in most cases responsible for

the glory and prosperity that people wish to achieve in their dreams, and thus represents the
passion the Old Money class lacks by never having to chase an American Dream. In comparison
to Myrtle s vitality, Daisy is deficient in her devotions to strive towards a particular dream. After
marrying Tom, the values of the Old Money aristocracy led her to believe that there was nothing
else she could achieve because she had already fulfilled her role in society. Daisy s voice, her
inexplicable charm, is full of money (120); her prestigious persona is literally a representation of
her wealth and social class. The only discernible beauty in her voice... Show more content on

The nouveau riche class as a whole is characterized by Fitzgerald as moths among the
whisperings and the stars (39) in the way that the people are drawn toward things that tend to kill
them. Their determination for upward social mobility has led them to fulfill their American
Dream, but only to the extent of established wealth. A rebellion against aristocratic social conduct
leads to criticism and intolerance from the aristocratic community, leading to an unfulfilled
destiny of true social mobility. Although some of the nouveau riche class accept this distinction
from the aristocracy, Gatsby s dream and passion is nevertheless unfaltered by their judgments.
As he grew up in poverty, James Gatz s innocence and enthusiasm in his dream of social mobility
rapidly evolved into a desperate obsession with the aristocracy. His Platonic conception of himself
manifested in the ideal man of Jay Gatsby that only exists in the mind of James Gatz. Gatsby s
imagination led him to believe that his American Dream was a promise that the rock of the world
was founded securely on a fairy s wing (99). Nothing in comparison, even the harsh and bitter
burdens of reality, can ever outweigh Gatsby s strength and passion for his American Dream.

Jeff Immelt s Administration Style
INTRODUCTION Jeff Immelt s administration style is strongly not quite the same as that of his
ancestor. His quality is in rousing others by empowering them and relating with them at their
level, in contrast to the intimidating way of work followed by Jack Welch. Notwithstanding
both men being similarly powerful, Immelt s kin well disposed general fellow initiative style
has made an altogether different environment at GE and drew acclaim from the positions of his
subordinates. In 2001, soon after Immelt took up his new challenge as the CEO of one of the
most successful companies of the 20th century, an arrangement of occasions in a broader sense
changed the corporate scene. Immelt s prompt test was to deal with the effect of the aftermath of
the September 11 assaults and a consequent arrangement of prominent corporate outrages like
those of Worldcom, Enron and some others to name a few. These occasions made critical
instability and prompted an emergency of certainty among financial specialists and fuelled disdain
in the group on the loose. Notwithstanding a sliding offer value, Immelt perceived that dealing
with GE s presentation to the business cycle would be basic to the association s long haul
soundness (Grant 2008, pp. 317 318). He tried to console GE shareholders that the occupation of
the CEO was not to deal with the offer value however to deal with the organization for long haul
benefit development. To keep up the trust of the group and GE shareholders, Immelt

Edward Ii
Edward II plantagenet King of England,
Whose incompetence and distaste for government finally led to
His deposition and murder.
The Elizabethan drama, Christopher Marlowe s, Edward the Second is, according to Aristotle s
definition of the word, a tragedy. That is to say it concerns the fall of a great man because of a
mistake he has made or a flaw in his character. During this essay I will demonstrate how this
definition of tragedy applies to Edward II.
Edward II was king of England, and reigned from 1307 to 1327, as a prince he had developed a
close, possibly homosexual, relationship with a base commoner of very low social standing named
Piers de Gaveston. The young prince s father Edward I, also known as Edward the Longshanks ...

but also tyrannised and mocked and forced to bow to a,
Base commoner Edward eventually allows this banishment to be re imposed but changes his
mind at the last minute. When the Earls can take no more, a battle is fought. Edward loses and
takes sanctuary in a monastery. However, he is seen and arrested, his favourites are executed and
after being cruelly treated and deposed Edward is executed. Mortimer takes power as protector
over Edward the third, but is then executed himself by Edward the third. Edward III then places
his head on Edward the seconds coffin as a warning to all thinking of attempting a similar act of
treachery.
The reasons for Edwards s downfall are complex and intricate, but I believe can be divided into
three basic categories, Edwards relationship with those around him, his personality and the
advantage to others such as Mortimer attained because of Edwards s downfall. However short lived

Pros And Cons Of Hezbollah
Israel s primary strategy in terms of countering terrorism is to use force to eliminate threats to its
sovereignty and security. Initially, Israel sought to occupy southern Lebanon as a response to the
Abu Nidal Organization s attempted assassination on the Israeli Prime Minister to the United
Kingdom. This initial occupation had no relationship to Hezbollah, but is the source of Hezbollah
s establishment. Occupation to suppress violence falls under Audrey Cronin s category of
repression in her study of the decline and demise of terrorist organizations, How Terrorism Ends.
Repression is usually a knee jerk reaction that seems to be less promising in terms of effectiveness
than other strategies.

The Pay For Performance Incentive Program
Abstract
The Pay for Performance incentive program is a new program being implemented across the
United States to measure the quality of care within health care organizations. There are both
positive and negative aspects of the Pay for Performance program that are based on information
received from organizations who have implemented the program within their organization. The
regulations the Federal Government has developed requirements for hospitals who serve Medicare
patients as well as establishing four metrics that are used to measure the quality of the employee.
Employees who work at an organization are given the opportunity to opt out of the Pay for
Performance incentive program. This gives the employee the ability to make decisions on their
income potential. Pay for Performance is a new aspect of the health care industry and will be used
within the industry to measure quality of employees for the foreseeable future.
Quality Health Care and Pay for Performance Incentives Pay for performance has been a topic
debated for many years in a wide range of professional settings as a way to increase employee
productivity by basing their pay on the quality of the employee s performance. Pay for
Performance used within the medical community is defined as a payment system that offers
financial rewards to medical professionals who meet or exceed specified benchmarks ( Pay For ,
2009). Most approaches adjust the payments to physicians and hospitals on the basis of

I am scared.
What is this place?
Where am I?

It s very lonely.
But at the same time I have a nostalgic feeling.
Why do I feel vague connection with this room?

This similarity between me and this room is that loneliness is common between us.

Sylvia Beach s Ballet Technique
While Antheil was living in Paris in the 1920 s, Sylvia Beach introduced him to a filmmaker by
the name of Fernand LegГ©r. Together they came up with an idea that would eventually be
conceived as Ballet MГ©canique. While both the film and the score were created at the same
time, the two were very quickly separated into their own separate artistic entities. Inspired by the
factory setting he grew up in, and the avant garde art he was exposed to while living in Paris. The
Ballethas had many different premieres and many rewrites since the very first premiere in 1926.

But problems arose even without music, as the promoter Donald Friede the vice president of the
publishing firm Boni Liverwright had never promoted a live show, certainly not as big as this
one. The next problem was the backdrop behind the orchestra; Antheil felt that the traditional
curtain would not suite his needs so he asked Joseph Mullen to create two backdrops for the
performance. The first backdrop was created for his Jazz Symphony which depicted an African
American couple dancing the Charleston while the male is firmly grasping her buttocks in front
of an American flag background. This piece was performed by an African American orchestra.
This only heightened the controversy. The next one, created for Ballet MГ©canique depicts a
futuristic city with the focal point being a Dadaist representation of Marcel Duchamp s
Fountain, and a more than life size figure of a man jumping off a diving board that seemed to be
attached to a curved pipe of the sort generally used in connection with a toilet. Even after
thoroughly scaring the New York elite, more problems arose when the combination of the house
curtain and the two created backdrops absorbed a great amount of sound. Due to a mix up, the
string quartet originally planned to be played second, was played first. Leaving many audience

Health Benefits And The Business Aspects Of The Beloved...
Coffee
My topic of choice is coffee. I personally drink a large amount of it everyday. I spent a lot of time
trying to figure out what I wanted my topic to be. Coffee is something I enjoy everyday and am
curiosity about. At one time I wanted to open my own coffee shop. That dream is dead, but I still
enjoy the beverage, often in a hip, public place surrounded by friends. I believe this topic will
keep me focused and interested and enlighten me on current arguments and facts. I am interested in
the health benefits and the business aspects of the beloved brew. I had an intention at one time of
pursuing nutrition as a degree, so health information intrigues me. Currently, I am considering
business as a degree plan. Researching the business aspect may help prepare me for that future
and give me a glimpse at what business entails. On a humorous note, I know I will need large
doses of caffeine to make it through my college career, so I would like to know my limits.
I have read many times over the last few years that coffee is good for you. Others tell me often that
it is not, to which I tell them it is, based on material I have read, but not researched. I do not recall
much material stating that it is bad, but I know it is out there. Part of my research paper will be in
pursuit of finding the facts about the health benefits and harms of the brew. From my limited
reading in the past, I have learned that it naturally contains antioxidants that fight free radicals in
your body,

Opposites Attract in Ernest Hemingway s The Sun Also Rises
A Proverb once stated, Opposites attract. Scientist, chemist, doctors, and even matchmakers around

relationship between Lady Brett Ashley and Robert Cohn proves this statement wrong. Throughout
the novel, Lady Brett has many types of relationships with a variety of people, most of whom are

supposed husband, and Pedro Romero. Lady Brett s laid back, independent, and rather promiscuous

Even though Bill has not known Cohn for long, he already does not like him. Bill s first
impression of Cohn is a bad one, whereas Bill s first impression of Brett is very good. After Jake
introduces Brett to Bill he thinks, Quite a girl. She s damned nice (Hemingway 81). Everyone,
including Bill, like Brett and enjoy her personality and her company, whereas Cohn is the
complete opposite. Cohn always seems to tag along with Brett, Jake, and Mike and never joins in
on the conversations. Brett is always the life of the party, whereas Cohn usually keeps to himself.
One night while they are in Pamplona, Spain for the week of fiestas and bull fights, they all go out
drinking and Mike Campbell, who also does not like Cohn, badly embarrasses Cohn in front of
the whole group. Mike begins yelling, Do you think you amount to something, Cohn? Do you
think you belong here among us? People who are out to have a good time? Do you think Brett
wants you here? Do you think you add to the party? Why don t you say something? (Hemingway

Mike is not afraid to speak the truth to Cohn. Not only do Cohn and Brett have different levels of
popularity, but also different levels of maturity.

and found that Al Davis was the guy he wanted. The next contract was a three year $20,000

Advances in Liver Transplants
Advances in surgery and immunosuppressive therapy have improved clinical outcomes and
opportunities for liver transplantation among those previously excluded (e.g., older adults) (1).
During the liver allocation system prior to 2002, liver transplant recipients 60 years old were
reported to have promising graft and patient survival rates similar to younger cohorts (1 12).Other
published reports have cited significant mortality and complications among older recipients (13 18),
though important clinical outcomes like functional status have been infrequently studied. (7, 13).
In 2002, the Model for End Stage Liver Disease (MELD) system for liver allocation was
implemented and it resulted in lower waiting list death rates among recipients without changing 1
year graft and patient survival (19, 20), including those 65 years (21) in comparison to the pre
MELD era. However, functional status and long term clinical outcomes among older liver
transplant recipients in the MELD era are unclear.
Based on the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR), the number of waitlisted older
adults ( 65 years) for liver transplantation has significantly increased in the past decade from 9.9%
(1,637) in 2001 to 16% (2,460) in 2011 (22). The demand for liver transplantation is expected to
increase with high rates of Hepatitis C infection among individuals born between 1945 1965 who
are at risk for cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (23). Given the increasing numbers

The Nighttime Comparison
The book The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon and its play
adaptation showcase the coming of age story of a boy named Christopher who is not only
dealing with autism, but a dysfunctional family as well. The book gives the reader a glimpse on
how Christopher s mind works and has the reader sympathize with his hardships. Likewise, the
play trailer shows that the director chose to follow a similar adaptation of the book. The director,
instead of portraying the happenings in the external world, chooses instead to show Christopher s
internal thoughts and reactions to better illustrate to the audience the way Christopher sees the
world, and helps the audience better sympathize with Christopher. One instance of this is the set
design. The set itself is a gridded cube, and the use of the grid throughout the play emphasizes the
logic of Christopher s thoughts rather than on what other characters think. The stage s use as seen
by the trailer is for Christopher to not only interact with other people but for drawing maps and
diagrams, as well as give a visual representation of the way his mind works; it s mathematical,
neat, and simple. However, people are not as neat, and as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

only the conversation at hand. This helps the audience understand what Christopher part of an

Benefits Of Lucid Dreaming
All You Need to Know About Lucid Dreaming
Chapter 1: Overview of Lucid Dreams
Dreams have played a very crucial role to cultures through the years. The aborigines have believed
that the stories of the world very start as the realization of their dreaming. Native Americans have
believed that their dreams are doorways to the spiritual world, ways to quests and prophecies.
The concept of lucid dreaming is not something new either. Aristotle is considered to be the first
one to write about lucid dreaming; however, he did not coin a term for it. Certain Tibetan
Buddhists have been practicing dream yoga for a long time, which is something similar to lucid
dreaming.
The ultimate goal of dream yoga is to examine your consciousness and give you to a state of
constant awareness. Bulk of the principles governing the Buddhist belief is to be familiar with the
world for what it is, without illusion. A lucid dreamer is familiarized with the dream world for
what it is a dream. As you dream, you go with the flow of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The advantages of lucid dreaming start with being able to promote stress relief through your
dreams; although lucid dreaming can have a lot of other concrete advantages in your own life.
Following are just some of the known benefits of lucid dreaming:
Facing fears many lucid dreamers utilize lucid dreams as a means to deal with their phobias or
overcome their nightmares. You can set up your lucid dreamto deal with a worst case situation, so
you will already know that you can surpass it. You may also use your dreams as a means to
gradually experience your fears and to discover how you can surpass them. For example, if you
are afraid of creepy crawling insects, you can make your elf face these creatures in your dream,
knowing that you can wake up at any time. You ll soon find yourself getting over much of your fear
that usually comes with

Analysis Of Amiri Baraka s Work
Amiri Baraka was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1934 to a postal worker and social worker. He
began to publish his work after his term in the air force ended in 1957. HIs work shifted as he
shifted towards the black power movement. Baraka wrote many short plays, including the
Dutchman, that showed the oppression of black peoplein the United States. His work afterwards
was further influenced by his radical politics.
In The Dutchman, Baraka showcases two distinct but related constructs which is black masculinity
and white femininity in the figures of Clay and Lula respectively. Cultural constructions are

laugh at this spectacle in the background and a drunk joins her and dances with her. The audience

people in society. They do not see the black struggle as a major issue.
Clay does not get angry initially, but he eventually does when Lula says he and his big lipped
Uncle Tom father are afraid of white people and always will be. He gets angry enough to kill her.
Clay finally got a voice and stands up for himself for the first time in the entire play. This shows
the black community getting fed up with oppression and wanting to stand up for themselves. This
is done through multiple political and black power groups such as the Black Panther Party and
leaders such as Malcolm X. It s also done through arts in Harlem referred to as the Harlem
Renaissance with poets like Langston Hughes and Elizabeth Alexander. In present day, there are
still people are fed up with the intentional and systematic target of black people for demise such as
#BlackLivesMatter.

because there are whites who are watching all of the racism

Digital Communication And Electronic Data
Introduction Backing up digital communication and electronic data especially e mails is a very
important IT practice to insure against loss of data. The main reason for backup of e mails is
restore emails whenever required. There have been a lot of cases in the past where emails have
been deleted accidently or intentionally which has created problems in day to day working.
Deletion of emails have hindered court cases and delayed judgement in the past. Cases like
Zubulake v. UBS Warburg have been decided by adverse inference which is nothing but failure
of defendant to provide proof to defend themselves. The Policy presents a mandate for
Universities and colleges in a state to contract a licensed third party who is not bias to archive
all the emails. Unbiased Email archiving is important as more and more lawsuit are being filed
and the defendants are unable to submit any emails to prove themselves innocent. Some of the
cases are Zubulake v. UBS Warburg. [1], and FiTeq Inc. v. Venture Corp. [2] Siani v. State
University of New York at Farmingdale, 2010 WL 3170664 (E.D.N.Y. Aug. 10, 2010)[3] is a case

  • 3. Similarities Between Electricity And Electricity There will be one moment in our life that could be important and symbolic to us. It could be simple ones or even complicated ones. Sometimes, seeing electricity for the first time could transform someone s life. Even searching for your cultural identity could be significant to you. Electricity... and An Unknown... both have similarities and differences. One main similarity in both poems is that they have the same theme: discovery. In Electricity... it is about discovering electric lights for the first time. On the other hand, An Unknown... is about discovering your other cultural identity. The entire poem of An Unknown... is one long stanza, like a never ending conversation. This suggests that the poet does not want her experience to end; she wants it to last forever and she does not want her memories of her experience to disappear. Electricity... by Marcia Douglas contains three stanzas of a free verse poem. There is massive difference in both poems regarding their structure. Electricity... takes the reader on a journey on how electricity transformed the lives of people in a village. The poem begins with a strong sense of anticipation. In An Unknown... the poet shares her experience during her visit in India. The poem engages the reader on a journey of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mining enough coal to supply the world, would really take a toll on Alaska s climate because of its vast environmental impact. In the article, There Is No Such Thing as Clean Coal the National Resource Defense Council (NRDC) states that the main sources of pollution due to the production of coal is methane emissions and particular matter emissions (2). Not only is the burning of coal harmful to the environment, the coal transportation after it is mined also poses a huge threat. The NRDC clarifies that diesel burning trucks, trains, and barges that transport coal spew dangerous chemicals into the earth s atmosphere (2). Not only is it harmful to the atmosphere, but also to the land and water if it happens to be spilled. The EPA states, truck records indicate that truck accidents near streams are likely over the long period of mining operations (19). The addition of these toxic emissions to the earth will greatly influence the issue of global warming on our planet and could potentially become irreparable which would make life much harder for future generations. Coal mining Alaska will also negatively affect its abundant wildlife. The mining of the coal will ultimately force the wildlife out of the area, which will cause major problems. The subject matter is a large wave that a surfer is riding. The content of the artwork could be how people are a small compared to the big world we live in. I think this piece of art was painted on with watercolor and a type of paper. These lines in the artwork is very loose and free. These lines in the artwork reminds me of Vincent van Gogh, The Starry Night lines in his artwork which are loose ,but the viewer can tell what the meaning of the picture is. • 11. Illustrations of Poly-Pharmacology in Dietary... One of the most explicit illustrations of poly pharmacology in dietary phyto nutrient is Curcumin. One can consider curcumin as an ideal candidate for preventive therapeutic action in cancer as a sole agent or in combination with traditional therapies, because of its ability to target multiple number of signaling pathways relevant to cancer [168,169]. One of the approaches for identification of polypharmacological chemical compounds is virtual screening of all potential molecular targets of interest for interactions with these chemicals [171]. Another approach to enable virtual screening of the receptorome attempts to generate a compendium of computational predictors (e.g., QSAR models or structure based models). Consequently, these constructed models can be employed in the virtual screening of chemical libraries for recognition of novel ligands for a panel of molecular targets and to predict polypharmacological matrices for these all chemicals incorporated in the chemical database. Finally, a database of models can be built by consolidation of these QSAR or structure based models. This database can be employed in parallel virtual screening of chemical compounds to indentify the interacting partners from all the pre characterized members of the receptor ome. Past research studies have successfully demonstrated that the generation of QSAR models and subsequent model based virtual screening of chemical libraries has led to the identification of chemically diverse ... Or if you re one of those people who still use that stuff called paper then maybe on that. Well whatever you are reading this on prepare to empty you re wallet s because this new technology will surly brighten your day! LED s or Light Emitting Diodes have been around since the 60 s and I think they are starting to decline. The new technology slowly replacing LED s are OLED s or Organic Light Emitting Diodes. Now these are special because they contain small quantities of organic material such as carbon. OLED s feature many vase improvements over its older friend LED s, these include: flexibility, durability, transparency and the list goes on! Although this all comes with an unfortunately large price tag. While OLED s are a great technology nowadays they have not always been so advanced. The first working OLED was created in 1987 by Ching W. Tang and Steven Van Slyke at Eastman Kodak. Although this was the first technically working OLED, electroluminescence the principle OLED s use was first reported in 1953 by A. Bernanose, M. Comte, and P. Vonaux, using a high voltage electrical field. Electroluminescence is when a material emits light in response to the passage of an electric current or to a strong electric field being applied through the substance (J. Chim p.50, 64.). • 13. Essay On The Movie Coraline In terms of plot, the movie adaptation of Neil Gaiman s Coraline is extremely true to the source material. It still tells the story of a young girl who grows unappreciative of her real family and finds a magical door in her new home that leads to a better, fantastical version of the family she has now. The creepiness and scary moments are also true to form, with this world being only a copy of the real world, created by the Other Mother in an attempt to trap Coralineforever. The quest to rescue the three ghost children is almost exactly the same, with two of their souls being found in Miss Spink and Forcible s theater and Mr. B s circus. But since the movie added a scene in which an enticing garden is used as an item to gain Coraline s trust in the Other Mother s fake world, one of the ghost souls was placed in this location instead. Another major difference between the book and the movie is the addition of the character Wybie. He acts as a source of inside knowledge about The Pink Palace and helps kill the Other Mother s hand at the climax of the movie, while in the book Coraline gathered her information about her home from her parents as well as Miss Spink and Forcible, and killed the Other Mother s hand by tricking it rather than crushing it. Miles Dewey Davis III was a musician, composer, arranger, producer and bandleader all in one. Davis was at the forefront of almost every major development in jazz after World War 2. He was one of the most influential and innovative musicians of the twentieth century along with Charlie Parker and Louis Armstrong. His versatility landed him at the forefront of bebop, cool jazz, modal, hard bop and fusion (Kirker, 2005:1). Hard bop was the evolvement and development from bop during the 1950s and 1960s, often regarded as a reaction to the restraint and intellectualism of cool jazz (Kingman, 1990:389). With the installation of the Miles Davis Quintet, Davis picked up where his late forties sessions left off. Eschewing the rhythmic and harmonic complexity of the prevalent bebop, Davis was given space to play long, legato and essentially melodic lines, where he would begin to explore modal music, his lifelong obsession. Modal jazz is a new venture for jazz both harmonically and structurally, it no longer used the chord progressions of standard tunes as the basis for improvisation replaced by a succession of scales on which the performer improvised instead (Kingman, 1990:390). Davis had definitely gone a long way in his trumpet playing since collaborating with Parker. No longer dependant on bebop phrasing, he chose a minimalist approach instead. Ornate phrasing gave way to a smattering of tones. He was also utilizing a Harmon mute, sometimes adding reverb, which had a whisper effect and personalised his sound. Elements of texture and silence between notes were becoming more dominant (Kirker, 2005:2). By 1958, he had freed himself by using modal scales and slower moving harmonies. Results from this study show that not only it is possible to detect but also to characterize virus that continues to be produced in low levels in such patients. They have a purpose here. Everyone around the world knows that America is the Land of Opportunity . People work so hard just to come here and start a new life. They all want to experience the American Dream . To us, this is a normal lifestyle. If you look at immigrants situations closely, you see their country s trouble and how over there they have it much worse. Wouldn t you want to give them an opportunity where you and they know is better? So many countries in Europe are having a hard time and people want to escape that and move to the States to start fresh. My grandparents moved to Chicago from Poland when my mom was 19. They worked tremendously hard to make enough money to make sure they were set for the future. Edward III then places his head on Edward the seconds coffin as a warning to all thinking of attempting a similar act of treachery.
