This document contains responses to a questionnaire regarding a Uniform Civil Code in India. The respondent opposes the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code for several reasons: 1) A Uniform Civil Code would violate citizens' fundamental right to freedom of religion as guaranteed by the Indian Constitution. Citizens have the right to follow the laws and customs of the religion they choose. 2) There is no need or requirement for a Uniform Civil Code. Personal laws already exist for different religious communities and these do not require reform or codification. 3) Implementing a Uniform Civil Code could amount to manipulating society and infringing on individuals' religious rights.
