The citizen wrote a letter to the Law Commission of India regarding the invitation for suggestions on issues pertaining to the Uniform Civil Code. In 3 sentences:
The letter requests more time (at least 60 days) to submit detailed suggestions, as the short 6 April deadline does not allow sufficient time for examination and study of the complex issues. It also notes that no specific issues for consultation have been framed. The citizen wants to personally address the Commission and requests that any hearing be held in Nagpur instead of New Delhi, given travel difficulties as a woman.
The organization is requesting additional time and a personal hearing to submit suggestions on the Uniform Civil Code to the Law Commission of India. They argue that the short 6 April deadline does not provide enough time for a thorough examination of the important issues. They also note that specific issues for discussion were not outlined. The organization works for public welfare and asserts that fundamental rights are involved, so an extension of at least one month is needed to submit detailed suggestions. A personal hearing is also requested to present their submissions.
