Business process reengineering (BPR) involves fundamentally rethinking and radically redesigning business processes to achieve dramatic improvements in critical performance measures such as cost, quality, service and speed. It aims to help companies fundamentally restructure their organizations by focusing on the work and redesigning the work in order to better support the organizational mission and take advantage of technological changes. BPR seeks to achieve breakthrough improvements rather than incremental changes. Common causes of BPR include changes in customer demands, competition and technology. While BPR can dramatically improve performance, it also carries risks if not implemented properly.
BPM (Business Process Management) IntroductionIntegrify
An introduction to BPM for teams looking to improve business processes through business process management (BPM). This is an abridged version of the full BPM guide.
This session introduces some of the principles behind a proposed Business Process Management (BPM) reference model, equivalent to the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) Workflow Reference Model.
There is signifi cant holistic advantage in deriving the BPM reference model not from workflow or BPM technology, but from logical and architectural analysis of what it is to be a business process. The same model
can then support technology, operational process management and business transformation. The principles address fundamental questions like:
• What is a business process? Where does it start and stop? What are its logical components?
• How can one process control structure cover both manual and automated functionality?
• Where do rules fit in?
• How to ensure process models align with data models?
Does process thinking mean rethinking requirements analysis, solution design and IT engagement and delivery models?

3. TVNZ Ltd, Auckland
Business Process Analyst 2015 - 2016
This contract role originally was to document the financial process for the advertising revenue
collection by the content management department. However I discovered that the process needed
remediation to ensure the end to end business process functioned correctly. To this end I developed
a form (in Excel) to engender that result, (also document, then test and train the users). The results
were so successful I was asked to stay on and create booking forms for On-air and Online as well.
Responsibilities/Deliverables:
Analyse the financial management processes, looking for where they could be
streamlined and made to work seamlessly with finance, R&O and sales. I did this in
collaboration with the users to ensure that the businesses needs were captured as well
as delivering the required clarity in financial transactions
Created the ‘Content Solutions Job Cost Estimate’ form which enabled the users
to centralise all the information needed to correctly supply and bill customers,
also giving the Sales GM a clear view of costs. This form also simplified and
standardised information for the team with built in formulas and structured data
selection.
Documented the new process, and form and created an easy to follow training
manual.
Developed booking forms for Online and On-air sales executives which
standardised information.
