1. One day, Daniel was in a day-off and he wanted to have a haircut. He needed to have
his hair cut because he hadn’t had it cut for four months. Fortunately, he found a barber-shop
near his house, Cutty Barber-Shop. Entering the barber-shop, he found that it was so busy
that day. Suddenly he managed to find an empty seat. He knew that he had to wait for a long
time for his turn since there were only two barbers there. It was a boring time to wait so long
that he became sleepy.
Finally, his turn came and the barber pleased him to sit on the barber’s chair.
“Excuse me sir, let me put this fabric shaver first,” the barber said friendly.
“Yes, of course!” Daniel was pleased as he tried to relax on his seat.
“I think you haven't had your hair cut for a long time, sir!” said the barber while
preparing the tools.
“Yes, you’re right. I have been so busy that I haven't got time to have my hair cut.
Besides, I look quite good with long hair, right?” said Daniel.
The barber smiled but tried to focus on his job.
“What hair style do you want, ?” asked the barber.
“Just make me awesome!” said Daniel.
“I will do my best, sir!” the barber replied.
As the barber started to trim his long hair, he started to fall asleep. It was troublesome
when he nodded off his head. The barber should have given some discreet nudges to make

2. his head in the correct position. The barber had tried to wake him up several times, but he
didn’t really awake, even snored louder.
At first, the barber was confused whether he had to shave off his beard or not. Then his
friend suggested him to shave it off.
“It will make him look awesome!” said the barber’s friend.
Complying with his friend’s idea, the barber continued lathering Daniel's chin and
shave off his beard.
Daniel woke up as soon as the barber finished the haircut. He was so shocked to find
that his hair was too short and that no beard was left on his chin.
“Oh, man! What have you done with my hair and beard?” he shouted.
“I have done my best to make you look awesome, sir!” said the barber cheerfully.
“Oh no, I’m not awesome without my beard! Who let you touch my beard?” he
exclaimed.
“I am so sorry, sir. But you were sleeping! ”the barber got frightened.
When the barber was shaking, his friend came along and asked Daniel to pay for the
haircut.
“I won’t pay! No beard no cost!” Daniel emphasized.
“It’s only 2 dollars for your haircut!” said the barber.
One of the costumers couldn’t bear his laugh because Daniel looked so weird with his
new hair-style. Being laughed, Daniel became angrier then left the barber-shop without
paying.
“I only did my job. Please pay before you leave!” The barber called after Daniel while
Daniel was walking out of the barber shop without listening to the barber.
“I won’t pay for this shameful haircut!” said Danielwhen he angrily walked away.

3. Since that day, Daniel had never come to that barber-shop anymore. He even always
tried to find another way when he had to pass that barber-shop.
