4. For my Digipaks, I researched into other similar Digipaks from
bands in the same or from similar genres. I chose to looks at
‘In Love’ from Peace and also ‘Be Slowly’ by Jaws. These two
albums use similar characteristics that I believe I have used
through the design of my music video.
In Love uses the whole band on the album cover. I have tried
to include all the band like Peace have done. Although with
my album cover I tried to include a sense of humour and
tried to include a friendly album cover. With my album cover I
have tried to focus more on the members of the band, where
as Peace’s album shows a mysterious look of the band. I
wanted to adapt this to show the whole of the band as it is
their debut album.

5. BE SLOWLY WAS AN ADAPTION THAT I DECIDED TO USE
AS THE ALBUM COVER IS VERY TYPICAL OF THE
ALTERNATIVE ROCK GENRE WITH ONE HIGHLIGHTED
THING SURROUNDED BY LOTS OF DARKER COLOURS
WHICH WOULD TYPICALLY BE FOUND ON THE COVER OF
AN ALTERNATIVE ROCK ALBUM COVER. THERE ARE OTHER
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE INDIE ROCK GENRE WITH A
SENSE OF VINTAGE AND ALSO A MYSTERIOUS COLOUR
SCHEME. THAT WILL ENTICE THE AUDIENCE IN TO TRY
AND GET THEM TO RESEARCH MORE INTO THE ALBUM. I
HAVE ALSO CHOSEN TO INCLUDE THIS STEREOTYPE FROM
THE INDIE ROCK GENRE BY USING DARK COLOURS, BUT I
HAVE ALSO USED BRIGHTER, MORE VIBRANT COLOURS
WITH THE TEXT THAT THE BAND MEMBERS ARE HOLDING
UP, AS THIS IS A GENRE CONVENTION OF INDIE-POP/ OR
DREAM-POP MUSIC. AS THERE IS MORE OF A SUMMERY
FEEL TOWARDS THE MUSIC AND THE GENRE.
BY USING AN ADAPTION OF THE TWO ALBUMS I THINK I
HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DESIGN A ALBUM COVER THAT USES
DARK COLOURS AND ALSO LIGHT COLOURS. I HAVE ALSO
INCLUDED A DOMINANT IMAGE SIMILAR TO THE ALBUM
COVER OF ‘IN LOVE’ BY PEACE WHICH ALSO USES A
DOMINANT IMAGE ON A DARK BACKGROUND. I HAVE
ALSO USED THE SAME LAYOUT AS THE ALBUM FROM
PEACE WITH THE BAND BEING SHOWN AS THIS CREATES
A SENSE OF MYSTERIOUSNESS AND ALSO AN INSIGHT TO
WHAT SORT OF MUSIC THE BAND PERFORMS.
