2. INTRODUCTION
 Closely involved in the Hudson, New York, community, T.
Eric Galloway directs the Galvan Initiatives Foundation
and seeks to improve quality of life for economically
vulnerable residents. Emphasizing urban infill and the
reuse of historic buildings, T. Eric Galloway’s organization
has developed extensive community and commercial
rental space, as well as nearly three dozen housing units.
The Foundation has undertaken significant grant-making
activities over the past four years.
One program that the Galvan Initiatives Foundation has
supported is the Columbia-Greene Partnership Academy
The Bridge.

3. THE BRIDGE
 An Alternative Transition Program, the state approved
program assists 16-year-old students within the Hudson
and Catskill School Districts, who are at risk of not
completing their education.
Focused on providing a positive, supportive educational
environment for these teens, The Bridge spearheads
intensive interventions. Students benefit from small class
sizes and individualized attention from dual-certified
teachers. They are able to recover credits, while following
an innovative project-based and online learning
curriculum. The ultimate aim is to bring them back into a
traditional educational environment, on-track to
successfully graduate high school and find productive
career paths.
