This document discusses several respiratory disorders: bronchitis causes inflammation of the bronchioles from infection or irritants like smoking; pneumonia causes the bronchioles to fill with pus and mucus from bacterial or viral infection; cystic fibrosis is a genetic disorder where thick mucus clogs the lungs and causes malnutrition; asthma causes oversensitive bronchioles that become easily inflamed from allergens; tuberculosis is a chronic bacterial infection of the lungs spread through the air that causes flu-like symptoms and coughing blood; and COPD results from repetitive respiratory disorders weakening the bronchioles over time.
