Master Harold vs No Exit Essay
The setting of a play is extremely vital. It could a form of symbolism, foreshadowing, or it can
affect the characters in the play. The is exactly the case in both No Exit by Jean Paul Sartre and
Master Harold ...and the boys by Athol Fugard. The setting in both plays contain of one room that
mainly consists of three major characters. The setting has an enormous impact on the behavior of
the characters. The time period in which both plays are form also effect the style of writing and
the characters. No Exit has an existentialist style of writing were as Master Harold ...and the boys
was written in the apartheid era of South Africa. Both books have similar settings, but also involve
some dissimilarity. The stage directions and the dialogue... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This play is based in a small coffee shop in South Africa. A rainy day forces the shop to very
unproductive. Still there are two African workers with the son of the white owner. Look at the
three of us this afternoon (Fugard 46). Sam is talking to the rest saying that only the three of
them are here this afternoon. Fugard uses the one room to keep all of the characters together. He
is trying to get the audience to perceive them as friends at the beginning of the play. He wants to
show the effect of staying in a room with a select few can change the atmosphere of the room.
Sartre and Fugard are both trying to show the harmless side of the characters before the setting
changes them and the circumstances. The effect of the one room on anyone for a long period of
time will result in hatred and bias. In No Exit the two female characters, Inez and Estelle, want
to kill each other by the end of the play. Right! In that case, I ll stop her watching. (She picks up
the PAPER knife and stabs Inez several times.) (Sartre 45). Estelle is say that she will not let her
watch her and Garcin. She takes the paper knife in the room and starts to stab Inez. Estelle
forgets that since they are in hell, she is already dead and the knife has no effect on her. Estelle has
a strong sense of hatred for Inez and vice versa. The people also start to favor one over the other.

Mojave Tribe Research Paper
Living in the desert of Southeastern California affects how the Mojave tribe lived. First of all, the
Mojave were located in Southeastern California Desert..The Mojave tribe were also found along the
Colorado River. The Mojave tribe had a mild climate. In winter it is mild and summers are hot.
They are located on high grounds in winter because of the floods. Its mild weather was not too
hot not too cold but warm. Next, the Mojave had a big community. Settlements had up to 100
people in one village. The Mojave thought of themselves as clans or bands . Each tribe had one
or more headman. Also, the Mojave tribe had different shelters. They were made out of bundles
of grass and a sturdy layer of mud to have a roof. In the spring and summer, they put their houses

Tax Reform Act 1986
America s п¬Ѓrst income tax was executed as a way to help finance the overwhelming costs of the
Civil War. Even though the income tax in 1862 was commonly a personal income tax, it added a tax
on corporations, including withholding and taxing certain corporate interest and dividends but
pursued to avoid double taxation. An 1885 pamphlet wrote [double corporate taxation] violate[s]
the principles at the foundation of all systems of taxation (Bloomfield 2011 p. 179). This attempt to
raise money was not successful and public debt continued to rise. In response, the 1864 taxact
reduced income ceilings and specifically included partnerships and corporations as taxable
individuals. Afterwards, the Revenue Act of 1913 formally distinguished personal... Show more

New State Constitutions
Even before the Declaration was signed, leaders began preparing new state constitutions. These
documents were based on American ideals of individual rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness. They also included values such as popular sovereignty government by consent of the
governed and equal justice under the law. New Hampshire was the first colony to have a
constitution. Each state set up a legislature, most of which were bicameral, or divided into two
parts or houses. The legislature made the laws. The governor, the chief executive, was elected by
the legislature or the citizens. The governor s job was to carry out the laws. The state judges and
courts interpreted the laws. State legislators were elected. In most states, only white male

A confederation is a voluntary association of independent states. The states in the Confederation
agreed to allow the central government to carry out a limited number of activities. The Articles
set up a one house legislature called the Congress. Each state, no matter what size, had one vote.
The Articles specified the activities that Congress could undertake. In all other matters, the states
held sovereignty, or supreme power. Congress had the authority to conduct foreign affairs,
maintain armed forces, borrow money, and issue currency. It could not enforce its laws or
impose taxes. It could ask the states for money, but could not demand it. Congress had no real
power over the states. All 13 states ratified, or approved, the Articles. Soon, problems with the
Articles became clear. Congress could not pass a law unless nine states voted to accept it. An
amendment, or change, to the Articles required approval of all 13 states. Even when Congress
passed laws, it could not enforce them. The Articles did not provide for courts or a chief executive.
A state could ignore a law and Congress could do nothing about it.

Originating in Scotland, curling in one of the oldest team sports recorded to date. Created in the
16th century, the earliest known curling stones were found in Perth and Sterling, Scotland. These
curling stones are dated back as far as 1511. As the game developed, stones with handles were
designed and used to help improve accuracy. The first known use of this development dates back
to the early 1600 s. Back then the sport of curlingwas played during the winter months on frozen
ponds and lochs by two teams ( Olympic Curling , 2018). As curling grew in popularity, curling
clubs began to appear in Scotland. The Grand Caledonian Curling Club was the first to develop

The Priceline Group Is An American Based Company
Long: PCLN (Market Cap: $80.73B)
1. Summary Thesis:
The Priceline Group is an American based company that provides travel and related services to
consumers and local partners. It has six primary brands: Booking.com, Priceline.com, agoda.com,
KAYAK, Rentalcars.com and OpenTable. Among these brands, Booking.com is the company s
main platform. Now, The Priceline Group operates in over 200 countries and areas and becomes
the biggest online travel agency in the world.
The total revenues of the Priceline Group in 2015 were about 9,224 million. It increased 9.3%

It is higher than the current stock price, $1631.62 per share. Therefore, I suggest to buy the PCLN

2. Background:
Agency revenues are about 70% of Priceline s total revenues. They are derived from travel related
transactions from where Priceline is not the merchant of record and where the prices are
determined by third parties. This means that Priceline plays a role of an agency, connects customers
and third parties and then gets the commissions. The revenues from this part include travel,
commissions, GDS reservation booking fees related to certain travel services, travel insurance fees
and customer processing fees.
As the main platform of Priceline, booking.com contributes a lot of revenues to its parent
company. It claims that the website lists about 1,200,000 properties in 225 countries and books
1,200,000 room nights per day. Therefore, almost all of its revenue is agency revenue made up of
travel commissions.
Agency revenues for the year ended December 31, 2015 increased 11.7% compared to the year
ended December 31, 2014. The growth of business of Booking.com, rentalcars.com, priceline.com
and agoda.com led to the increasing. But the stronger U.S. Dollar significantly adversely affected
the growth of agency revenues which was expressed in U.S. Dollars.
Merchant revenues make up about 23% of Priceline s total revenues. They are derived from

brought to the American shore (Slavery). Life as an enslaved African was more than tough, it was
appalling. Slaves were prohibited from becoming literate, they were restricted in every aspect,
whether it was in movement or behavior, and they were punished severely. Slave masters took
sexual liberties with enslaved women, which was thought to be a tactic to procreate slaves

In 1865 Black codes were enacted, which denied African Americans the right to serve on juries,
vote, join state militias and or start a job without permission from their previous employer. Pig

Americans for petty crimes such as handing out felonies for stealing farm animals. Both Black
Codes and Pig Laws were repealed by 1877 but rewritten into Jim Crow Laws, which enforced

General Electric s Corporate Social Responsability
I chose to look into General Electric for this project because they are an energy supplier and
multi national company. Energy providers have a reputation as a money hungry companies that
care about the bottom line more than people and the planet. It is easy for a person to assume that
a corporation of GE s size, money would be its only concern. What I learned was that GE has a
public image problem more than a Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) problem. The company
has been working to make the people of the planet more Earth friendly by creating technology that
has higher efficiency with fewer emissions and lower resource demands. GE has a well established

CSR lacks universal methods. The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
mentions that it is important to draw a distinction between CSR as part of strategic business
management concept and charity, sponsorships or philanthropy. The latter applications make
valuable social impacts that enhance the reputations of the companies, however, CSR is a continual
effort instead of an instance. A few features that CSR should focus on are: eco efficiency, employee
and community relations, environmental management, gender balance, responsible souring, anti
corruption, stakeholder engagement and human rights. Utilizing some of these key features a
company can bring competitive advantages into the market place. Increased sales and profits from
operational cost savings as well as improved reputation and brand image and customer loyalty can
result from a well defined CSR strategy.

Analysis Of Gilman s A Mountain Path As Road
Charlotte Perkins Gilman was an American writer of diminutive stories, poems, and nonfiction.
She was a utopian feminist as well as a socialist who served as a paradigm for future generations
of feminists. An Obstacle is one of the optimum workings of her during her life span. In her
poem, Gilman explained women s struggle to accomplish egalitarianism with men in a very
vivid illustration. Gilman referred a mountain path as road which a woman has to surpass in
array to reach equality, as it takes additional endeavor to climb a mountain then walking on a
plane path. It signifies that the mode to reach the destination of impartiality is certainly not a
piece of cake for women especially in this form of civilization where women are considered
inferior to men. When we (Women) are burdened with many things to do, important business of my
own, and other people s too signifies the quantity of effort they are exerting in their day to day life.
Women saunter through the hard way, bringing with her many things, not only for herself but for
others also. Her expedition was going well but not for long. A Prejudice thwarts her endeavor.
Prejudice here refers to patriarchal society (both men and women) who believe that women are the
subsequent sex. Second verse strengthens the first, that Gilman s attempt to attain equality was not
a simple thing to do with her limit time and vigor. Prejudice made her struggle harder coz it
hindered her journey. In Third and fourth stanza

Preventive Measures Towards Crime Against Women
Preventive Measures towards crime against women
Violence against women is a technical term used to collectively refer to violent acts that are
primarily or exclusively committed against women. Similar to a hate crime, this type of violence
targets a specific group with the victim s gender as a primary motive.
The United Nations General Assembly defines violence against women as any act of gender based
violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or mental harm or suffering to
women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether
occurring in public or in private life. The 1993 Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Hedge Fund
Since investors cannot invest in a gauge of the hedge fund universe, it is crucial to focus on the
performance of individual funds. Do individual hedge funds beat the market? Do they outperform
mutual funds? Academic literature on the performance on hedge funds does not provide a clear
answer as to whether hedge funds outperform the market. Moreover, there are a number of
challenges facing researchers wanting to explore this issue. Firstly, due to hedge funds unregulated
nature, unbiased data is hard to retrieve since only a small number of hedge funds disclose their
performance voluntarily. This problem is referred to as the survivorship bias and refers to how the
data available to researchers might be skewed since only well performing hedge funds have the
incentive to voluntarily declare their earnings. Therefore, the data available will be missing those
hedge funds that have been shut down or liquidated (Ackerman, McEnally and Ravenscraft,

Hedge funds may have strategies that yield payoffs similar to those of a company which sells
earthquake insurance; most of the time the insurance company makes no payouts on its insurance
policies and has a nice profit, but from time to time disaster comes and the insurance company
makes large losses that may exceed its accumulative profits from good times. Though investors in
an insurance company know that it sells earthquake insurance, investors in hedge funds may find it
impossible to assess that the hedge fund takes the risk of large losses before these losses have
materialized. The general argument is that looking at past performance does not guarantee constant
future return because it may seem that a hedge fund has low volatility but at the same time there is
a high probability the fund may lose all its assets at once (Stulz,

Fat taxes have been experimented with in numerous European countries. There are many benefits
such as boosting economic growth, improving health and elongating life expectancy. On the
contrary if a fat tax is implemented into a weak economy it could cause the loss of jobs due to
higher prices. These higher prices cause local consumers to begin to purchase their unhealthy

government and their new tax regulations. There is much opposition and debate over this, and
difficult economic times have created unrest with the residents. Still, the tax with all of this
negative feedback has survived, unlike the experiment performed in Denmark. Denmark
implanted a fat tax on food products containing more than 2.3% saturated fat. After only being in
place for one year, Denmark repealed the fat tax and got rid of an impending tax on sugar in
2012. The tax was causing the loss of jobs due to the increased cost of doing business .
Consumers began buying food products in Sweden and Germany. Many younger adults who
would frequently purchase bags of chips after school simply began buying different brands of
potato chips that merely just changed the types of ingredients to meet the governments fat tax
demands. While the tax did bring in $216 million for the government, the higher price of meat,
dairy and butter proved to be too much for the Hungarian economy to handle. With the loss of
consumers in Denmark, business owners were not able to sustain consistent sales to stay profitable.
Americans would have even less options for buying foreign food products considering our

Freedman Research Paper
A freedman or freedwoman is a former slave who has been released from slavery, usually by
legal means. Historically, slaves were freed either by manumission (granted freedom by their
owner) or emancipation (granted freedom as part of a larger group). The life of a freedman
changed in the years 1865 through 1896 in many different ways. Socially the amounts of
segregation intensity increased dramatically. Politically freedman could vote, there was what s

sharecropping was growing in popularity.
Segregation is separating a certain person from a larger group of people based on what they look

The Law when Two Companies Merge
1A.
During the Merger of AB and YZ into MN, an issue relating to licence keys will arise because of
the Copy Right Act of 1988. This is as the software that was previously licenced to both
companies has now become invalidated due to the fact it was licenced to each individual and
respective company, but not MN as a whole. Therefore any software used in the development and
hosting of the database and website, will now have to be renewed.
For the merging of the systems and newly built website, the Supply of Goods and Services Act
1982 would expect a reasonable level of quality that someone, who is in the business would be
expect from web design and database systems university graduate. The Supply of Goods and
Services Act also stipulate that we should agree to a cost that is reasonable for part time
university students. This could be around 3 4k for the website and around 2k for the database
integration. A time scale of around three months should also be set; this will be to allow the student
to carry on with their study while working for MN.
We should also be aware that a website made by students may not have the most secure systems
employed, and a data breach could be possible. If a data breach does happen then the impending
ICO enquiry for breaking the Data Protection Act 1998, will land squarely on our shoulders. This is
as the courts will not accept our decision to allow students to become MN s data controller.

Do you have a family member, or even yourself that has used a booster seat? Booster seats have

talking about what a booster seat is isn t the main objective. We have all seen car wrecks time
and time again, especially the ones that destroy you on the inside, even though it wasn t or had

The first question would be were they in a car seat properly or even in a booster seat? Just for

question should children be in booster ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What steps would you take? Now think about this anywhere from 72% to 84% of child restraints
show misuses. The most common forms of misuse are using the wrong seat for the child s age
and weight, wrong or loose safety belt attachment to the car seat and harness straps on the child.
This is terrifying because a statistic says 96% of parents believe their child safety seats are
installed correctly. Taking this information approximately 20% 30% of child restraints don t show
misuses. The proper steps would be making sure your children are properly buckled up in a car
seat, booster seat, or seat belt, whichever is appropriate for their age, height and weight. For the
best protection, infants and children should be buckled in a rear facing car seat, in the back
seat, until age 2 or when they reach the upper weight or height limits of their particular seat
When children outgrow their rear facing seats they should be buckled in a forward facing car
seat, in the back seat, until at least age 5 or when they reach the upper weight or height limit of
their particular seat. Once children outgrow their forward facing seat, they should be buckled in
a belt positioning booster seat until seat belts fit properly. Seat belts fit properly when the lap

Although Anita makes a great effort to ignore the victimization that she faces throughout the
story, it is impossible for the audience not to pick up on the words, symbols, and characters used
to blatantly victimize her. Right off the bat Anita is attempting to enjoy the peace and quiet of
her backyard to spend some time alone to just read and relax, however her thoughts are intruded
by the reminder of her friends calling her selfish. Anita recalls being called selfish by her friends
for finding happiness in her successes such as having ownership of her own house, a car, and a
satisfying way of life in general. This brings down the value of her success and leaves Anita a
victim, because her friends are just trying to take away from the caliber of her accomplishments,
and try to give her a reason to feel guilty about what s she s done for herself. Next, Anita s
thoughts are overtaken by a memory of a boy she had once been very fond of. That is, until he
suggested that she drop her scholarship at university, marry him, and put him through law school
because, Being male, he had more right to an education than she had. Now while this truly selfish
boyfriend of Anita s didn t have the chance to turn her into a victim because she dumped him and

Comparison Of The Hundred Year s War Between England And...
There are many events that took place between England and France that built up to what is known
as the Hundred Year s War. William of Normandy s conquest of the duchy of Aquitaine allowed
England to have claim over lands in France. This increased tension between the English king,
Edward III, and the French king, Phillip VI, that would inevitably create a war that lasted one
hundred and sixteen years (Fiero 175).
King Edward III maintained that he held claim to the French throne. When Edward III was only
fifteen years old, Charles IV of France died without a male heir. This left the succession of the
French throne to Edward III through his mother Isabella, sister to Charles IV and daughter of
Phillip VI. Edward III s claim on the French

Essay On Health Care Fraud
Health care fraud comes from many aspects. Fraud comes from some type of abuse to the
system. Such abuse can come from billers, providers and or patients. Abuse of the system can
turn into fraud. Because the fraud can come from many angles, it makes it really difficult for
regulatory agencies to detect and protect against abuse and fraud. However, many changes to the
system and the collaboration of regulations by many agencies have made a difference. Health
care fraud is a crime that over time has had a significant impact on public and private health care
payment system (Kongstvedt, 2013). Making a difference for this topic can have a significant
impact on health care in general. Health care fraud takes a lot of means from the system,
therefore affecting its goals. Not only does it distract the system from its objective, it also affects
the financial status of the government. It takes a lot of effort to control fraud, economic effort that
can otherwise be use in other struggles. Because this industry is one that grows with popularity, it
is very difficult for only one organization to control or manage abuse or fraud. Popularity in this
field brings great financial gains by those who choose to cheat or abuse the system. Above all, one
must continue to make efforts to fight back and to control the losses caused by fraud. In order to
continue these efforts, one must first understand how much is lost by these criminal acts.
Therefore, this paper will focus on one

Why Ability Assessments Don t Cross Cultures

A central thesis of this article is that ability tests can be analyzed as items of symbolic culture. This
theoretical perspective, based in cultural psychology, provides psychological researchers and
clinicians with the tools to detect, correct, and avoid the cross cultural misunderstandings that
undermine the validity of ability tests applied outside their culture of origin. When testers use tests
developed in their own culture to test members of a different culture, testees often do not share the

these three cultural domains. These conventions are presupposed or assumed by a test and its tester.
However, for any test to function successfully, these conventions must also be shared by the
participants. If a test travels, so must the conventions on which it is based. Otherwise, cross cultural
misunderstanding results and validity is compromised. For a test to travel freely, its foundational
conventions must be universally understood by potential participants. In each of the three cultural

show more respect towards nature in order for us to solve the conflicts between human and

stigma amongst humans to want more. This proves to be true when Lady Eboshi, leader of Iron

Decolonisation of Singapore
John de Bhal
Singapore achieved independence in 1959 due to a lack of British colonial retaliation to the
Japanese occupation during World War II. In 1965, it achieved independence for a second time as
a result of poor leadership within the Federation of Malaysia from both Tunku Abdul Rahman and
Lee Kuan Yew.
Singapore, unlike most other states and nations, has achieved independence twice: once in 1959
when it was decolonised by the British;1 then again after it was expelled from the Federation of
Malaysia in 1965, into which Singapore had integrated in 1963. 2 In contrast to many other

path of least resistance when leaving Singapore, even though Singaporean authorities and people
wanted their own independent nation at that point.13 The British economy was struggling and it
was apparent that Singapore was too much of a п¬Ѓnancial burden.14 It was the nationalistic
feeling inspired by Lee Kuan Yew and the PAP, which came about as a result of Japanese

The racially prejudiced and poor leadership of Tunku Abdul Rahman
contributed significantly to Singapore s independence and expulsion from the Federation of

nation in any circumstance.17 This is reinforced as President Sukarno

The Myth Of Endometriosis In The Human Body
If one breaks down endometriosis, one will find that it means an abnormal condition of the lining
inside a uterus. Specifically, the tissue that is inside the uterus will form on an external structure.
This has unpleasant consequences when a tissue made for a certain region of the body is acting
elsewhere. This condition will mainly affect women and young ladies during their most
reproductive years and can affect them both physically and mentally (Reich et al., 2016). Even
though most cases are, it is a myth that endometriosisoccurs exclusively in women over twenty
years of age. This disease can begin in a body as soon as the female obtains her first menstrual cycle
and will unfortunately persist over a lifetime in the body unless an act of... Show more content on

The basal layer of the endometrium produces the external functional layer, and if the basal layer
is not removed, then the disease will continue to grow back. This is why laparoscopic excision
surgery is the optimal treatment for endometriosis. This procedure will act to remove the
deepest layer of the endometrium like tissue. Reich et al. (2016) mentions that receiving a
hysterectomy is not the best way to get rid of this condition, even though a large majority of
people have come to believe this is true. As previously discussed, endometriosis can spread to
areas other than reproductive organs, so pain will persist even after removal of the entire uterus.
Pain killers, oral contraceptives and IUDs are common methods for pain treatment and slowing
the disease. However, as soon as one is eligible for the diagnosis of endometriosis, laparoscopic
surgery to remove all layers of disease should be amongst the top considerations to rid the body of
this abnormality, for it has proven to be the most

Racism By Kwame Anthony Appiah
Racism is a widely discussed topic, and everyone agrees that it is something that only causes
harm. People with racist views can view others from other groups as people who are lesser than
them and might use physically actions to show their dislike. In response to that, more and more
people are having their own ideas of how to identify and end racism. For example, Kwame Anthony
Appiah who brought out the idea of extrinsic racism, the perspective of utilitarianism, and the
Kantian ethic are views that show why racism is wrong and how it can be ended. Kwame Anthony
Appiah who wrote Racisms , believes that extrinsic racism is when people has a belief that different
races are different genetically and that results in different treatments. members of different races
differ in respects that warrant the differential treatment, respects, such as honesty or courage or
intelligence that are controversially held (held at least in most contemporary cultures) to be
acceptable as basis for treating people differently. (p.691) This is morally wrong to Appiah because
it is not true at all. Humans are humans, even if there are different races, the genes that contributes
to race does not set different races intelligence and moral standards, it is the teaching and
environment that shapes the people. the genes that account for the gross morphological differences
that underlie our standard racial categories are not linked to those genes that determine, to whatever
degree such matters

Jesus, The Son Of Man
For numerous believers, the question remains curious of why the term Son of Man was used by
Jesus in self representation. Particularly intriguing is Jesus use of this identification since God s
attributes are not fully comprehended in scope or of nature in their entirety, save what has been
revealed to us in Scripture. Therefore it is humbling to realize that Jesusmakes such a firm
association with mankind. Combined with Jesus humanity there still remains distinctive from His

There is some dispute over the nature of Jesus mission with how (Van Aarde, 2005) future events
would be shaped by Christ.
Scholars have divided themselves into three camps. Some say Jesus was a wisdom teacher and,
according to these scholars understanding 5, it seems that wisdom excludes an apocalyptic mind set.
Others disagree 6. But there is also a third option 7. According to these scholars, both presence
(immanence) and future (eschatology) exist within the spectrum of Jesus vision. This complexity is
interwoven with the problem pertaining to the continuity and/or discontinuity of the son of man
sayings by Jesus and those by the Jesus groups after his death.
I believe that the Daniel 7 linkage to Jesus use of Son of Man will justify an apocalyptic inclusion,
these facts do not disbar Jesus present or future activities.

Round Main Character In To Kill A Mockingbird
Those Who Need Protection
For a book to be considered a timeless classic it must influence people, books, and media, have a
thesis statement that is relevant to a large group of people, and must have a round main
character. First and foremost, a timeless classic should be influential and be able to change lives.
An everlasting book requires to change one s perspective on how they think and live everyday.
Another essential criteria is to have a thesis that is relatable to others. It is a necessity to
understand and learn from the theme of books. If a book has no message, it doesn t have a purpose
to be read. Lastly, having a round main character is important, because connecting with the

After Scout and Jem got guns Miss Maudie told them, Mockingbirds don t do one thing but
make music for us to enjoy... That s why it is a sin to kill a mockingbird (Lee 90) To begin, Miss
Maudie s positive beliefs of mockingbirds illustrates that injustices occur to many different
groups, because killing a Mockingbird would not be a sin if it never occurred. Moreover, the
quote reveals that there is an abundance of innocent people and animals being maltreated. The
words, don t do one thing, suggests that Mockingbirds don t do anything dreadful, they

Chippewa Indian Culture
The clothing of the Chippewa Indians was oftentimes made of animal skin. The tendons were
taken from the animals and used as thread for the clothing that the Chippewa wore. The men
wore a long piece of animal skin or cloth between their legs and belted it at the hips. The flaps
then covered the front and behind of the men. Leggings were worn by both women and men and
sometimes they were covered with fancy fringe. The leggings were created from animal skin and
therefore were quite insulating during the cold winters. Women sometimes wore long skirts over
the top of their leggings. Women wore a thin blouse, basically like a poncho, that included a cut
out at the neck for the head to go through. Fancy aprons were worn on special occasions. The
Chippewa men wore headdresses made of stiff porcupine hair. These headdresses closely relate the
Chippewa to the Mohawk and Mohicans. Women kept their hair long in length and braided it, with
pieces of cloth and shells intermingled in them. Jewelry was something very important in the
Chippewa culture. They wore copper bracelets and beaded necklaces. Also important in the

Understanding the Motivation off Alcibiades
Alcibiades was a highly motivated individual with a drive to gain power by any means necessary.
Alcibiades upbringing conditioned him, one might say entitled him, to power and influence, and
his self serving actions had the sole objectives of surpassing his predecessors and achieving glory.
To understand the motivation of Alcibiades, we must look to his upbringing and character to
examine his sense of entitlement. Alcibiades was born into an aristocratic Athenian family so he
would have been pro oligarchy; he was the son of Cleinias (Thuc 5.43) who was slain at the battle
of Coroneia (Plut. Alcibiades 1). After the death of his father, Alcibiades was placed under the
guardianship of Pericles (Plut. Alcibiades 1), who was leader of the state and the most influential
man of his day (Thuc 1.127). The connection that Alcibiades shared with Pericles, enabled him to
enjoy the company of influential figures throughout Athens, and consequently; they desired him. It
was said, many well born men were swarming around Alcibiades and seeking his company (Plut.
Alcibiades 4), being held in such high regard by the elite would have boosted his sense of self
importance, gained him influence and bring about great personal fame (Thu. 6.16). Alcibiades was
a pleasure seeker who surrounded himself with admirers that enthralled him with flattery and favors
(Plut. Alcibiades 4), these indulgences soon lead to him rebelling against anyone who would try to

The Great Divide By John Woolf And Forster s Howard s...

The Great Divide
There were several prevailing thoughts towards connections present during the time in England on
the cusp of High Modernism. The importance of connections with others was one that was
specifically addressed in much of the literature. E.M. Forster even highlighted the idea in his novel
Howard s End with the epigraph only connect . The idea supports the notion that, in order for a
society to survive and thrive, some degree of connection must be adequately maintained. Yet,
through the stratification of social classes in England at the time, there was little social connection
being preserved. To address the issue, authors like Virginia Woolfand Forster included connection
as a prominent theme in their works. Both Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway and Forster s Howard s End
address connection through their characters as well as geographical locations. In each of these
stories, the underlying theme of connecting highlights the characters struggles to only connect .
It would seem as if Forster is urging connection by illustrating that, without some degree of
connecting, social classes would remain stratified and society would fall into utter ruin. Through
the intermingling of characters in Howard s End , Forster suggests that connecting in such a way
is progress. He further advocates and suggests that progress should be presented as a positive thing,
and, in order for a society to flourish, connections between the

When child labor is examined, individuals and societies feel moral and emotional tugs. The
Freudian super ego is appalled that, especially in the modern world, there would be such a

why child labor exists and would be necessary. Every corner of the earth has known this conflict to
one degree or another. In the United States, the conflict is activated or denied with the purchase of

Without education, the child often has no other alternative than to enter the work force while still

  • 22. Essay On Health Care Fraud Health care fraud comes from many aspects. Fraud comes from some type of abuse to the system. Such abuse can come from billers, providers and or patients. Abuse of the system can turn into fraud. Because the fraud can come from many angles, it makes it really difficult for regulatory agencies to detect and protect against abuse and fraud. However, many changes to the system and the collaboration of regulations by many agencies have made a difference. Health care fraud is a crime that over time has had a significant impact on public and private health care payment system (Kongstvedt, 2013). Making a difference for this topic can have a significant impact on health care in general. Health care fraud takes a lot of means from the system, therefore affecting its goals. Not only does it distract the system from its objective, it also affects the financial status of the government. It takes a lot of effort to control fraud, economic effort that can otherwise be use in other struggles. Because this industry is one that grows with popularity, it is very difficult for only one organization to control or manage abuse or fraud. Popularity in this field brings great financial gains by those who choose to cheat or abuse the system. Above all, one must continue to make efforts to fight back and to control the losses caused by fraud. In order to continue these efforts, one must first understand how much is lost by these criminal acts. Therefore, this paper will focus on one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The theme of Princess Mononoke reflects on consequences of environmental destruction and argues that humans should show more respect towards nature in order for us to solve the conflicts between human and nature. By nature, humans are rarely satisfied with their current status. This forms a type of stigma amongst humans to want more. This proves to be true when Lady Eboshi, leader of Iron Town, fights the protagonist Ashitaka, prince of the Emishi Village, and reveals her greed and true demon. For example, Kwame Anthony Appiah who brought out the idea of extrinsic racism, the perspective of utilitarianism, and the Kantian ethic are views that show why racism is wrong and how it can be ended. Kwame Anthony Appiah who wrote Racisms , believes that extrinsic racism is when people has a belief that different races are different genetically and that results in different treatments. members of different races differ in respects that warrant the differential treatment, respects, such as honesty or courage or intelligence that are controversially held (held at least in most contemporary cultures) to be acceptable as basis for treating people differently. Humans are humans, even if there are different races, the genes that contributes to race does not set different races intelligence and moral standards, it is the teaching and environment that shapes the people. the genes that account for the gross morphological differences that underlie our standard racial categories are not linked to those genes that determine, to whatever degree such matters ... Therefore it is humbling to realize that Jesusmakes such a firm association with mankind. According to these scholars, both presence (immanence) and future (eschatology) exist within the spectrum of Jesus vision. This complexity is interwoven with the problem pertaining to the continuity and/or discontinuity of the son of man sayings by Jesus and those by the Jesus groups after his death. Alcibiades upbringing conditioned him, one might say entitled him, to power and influence, and his self serving actions had the sole objectives of surpassing his predecessors and achieving glory. To understand the motivation of Alcibiades, we must look to his upbringing and character to examine his sense of entitlement. Alcibiades was born into an aristocratic Athenian family so he would have been pro oligarchy; he was the son of Cleinias (Thuc 5.43) who was slain at the battle of Coroneia (Plut. Alcibiades 1). • 38. The Great Divide By John Woolf And Forster s Howard s... Nashandra M. Jolley ENG 4425 Ross 11 November, 2015 The Great Divide There were several prevailing thoughts towards connections present during the time in England on the cusp of High Modernism. The importance of connections with others was one that was specifically addressed in much of the literature. E.M. Forster even highlighted the idea in his novel Howard s End with the epigraph only connect . The idea supports the notion that, in order for a society to survive and thrive, some degree of connection must be adequately maintained. Yet, through the stratification of social classes in England at the time, there was little social connection being preserved. To address the issue, authors like Virginia Woolfand Forster included connection as a prominent theme in their works. Both Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway and Forster s Howard s End address connection through their characters as well as geographical locations. In each of these stories, the underlying theme of connecting highlights the characters struggles to only connect . It would seem as if Forster is urging connection by illustrating that, without some degree of connecting, social classes would remain stratified and society would fall into utter ruin. Through the intermingling of characters in Howard s End , Forster suggests that connecting in such a way is progress. He further advocates and suggests that progress should be presented as a positive thing, and, in order for a society to flourish, connections between the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Almost without exception adult labor is a substitution for child labor. Child labor is often justified by an attitude that says the children are developing good habits that will make them constantly employable as adults. Without education, the child often has no other alternative than to enter the work force while still a minor. As a handicapped, probably illiterate child, he will be sentenced to a lifetime of poverty. Access to education becomes increasingly remote. Over 125 million children are without formal schooling. One comparison points out that the cost of educating these children would be 10 billion dollars, a sizeable sum except when recognizing that this is the cost of four days of global military spending. For child labor conditions to improve, strong workers rights codes are necessary. Early studies emphasize this point by pointing out that child labor problems extend beyond long hours and poor pay and include highly abusive, sometimes criminal practices. Intentionally distorting and concealing where and when the children are working can further violate child labor rights.
