An Informal Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "An Informal Essay" poses a unique challenge. The task
demands a delicate balance between structure and spontaneity, formal expression and colloquial
tone. Crafting an informal essay requires a deep understanding of the genre's nuances, where the
author's personality and voice shine through while maintaining coherence and clarity.
The difficulty lies in striking the right chord between informality and coherence. It's about
capturing the essence of casual conversation while still delivering substance and insight. This
demands a keen sense of audience awareness and the ability to engage readers in a manner that
feels authentic and relatable.
Moreover, the informal essay invites a degree of experimentation and risk-taking. It encourages
the writer to explore unconventional ideas, employ humor, and employ personal anecdotes to
establish a connection with the audience. However, navigating this terrain without veering into
the realm of aimlessness or irrelevance requires finesse and skill.
The informal essay, by its very nature, defies rigid structures and formulas. It thrives on
spontaneity and free-flowing thought, making it both liberating and daunting to tackle. The
challenge lies in harnessing creativity while maintaining a sense of purpose and coherence
throughout the essay.
In conclusion, writing an informal essay demands a delicate balance of creativity, clarity, and
authenticity. It's about embracing the fluidity of language and expression while staying true to
the essence of the genre. Mastering this art requires practice, patience, and a willingness to
embrace the unexpected.

Essay on Egyptian, Babylonian, And Hebrew Religions
Egyptian, Babylonian, and Hebrew Religions
Egyptians, Babylonians, and Hebrews have similarities yet also differences in their
religions. The importance is not in the similarities as much as it is in the differences
that distinguish the cultures from each other and their views on life. I would like to
point out each civilization s creation and flood story.
By analyzing these stories we can come to a better understanding of their world
views. The Hebrew creation story from the book of Genesis is one that most people
know well. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. The earth was
without form and void. God said, quot;let there be light, quot; and there was light. He
then separated the light from the darkness. He also ... Show more content on

Thus the physical universe was created. People were created from Ra s tears. Time
passed and Ra grew frail, so the ungrateful race of men plotted against Ra.
When Ra learned of this he called the gods together. The gods decided that
mankind must be destroyed. Tens of thousands of men were killed until only a few
were left. Then Ra relented and man was spared. Nevertheless Ra was sick of the
world and retreated into the heavens, leaving Shu to reign in his place.
At that time the present world was established. The Babylonians have their own
interpretation of the beginning. All things came from the water. From the mixture of
sweet water, Aspu, with salt water, Tiamat, the gods arose. Aspu and
Tiamat gave birth to a pair of gigantic serpents, Lakhmu and Lakhamu. These two
serpents produced Anshar and Kishar, the heavens and the earth. Anshar and
Kishar then conceived Anu, Enlil, and Ea. Aspu and Tiamat grew angry because
the younger gods were noisy. So, they decided to destroy the new gods. Ea, the all
knowing, learned of this plan and used his magic to capture Apsu. Tiamat became
furious and created and army of gods and monsters to punish Ea and the others.
Marduk was asked to stand against Tiamat and her army. Marduk promised to defeat
Tiamat if he was given supremacy over the gods. Marduk defeated
Tiamat and her army. While he was cutting up Tiamat s body he used half her body
and created the dome of the heavens. With the other half he made the earth.

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Progeny
Testing
Breeding value of the individual estimated on the basis of the performance of the
progeny is called Progeny Testing. If the heritability (h2) of the trait is high and
the animal is able to express the trait by itself then individual selection is the best
method. But in case of many traits it so happens that the trait is expressed in only
one sex (i.e., sex limited traits), or when the trait is expressed after the death of the
animal (i.e., slaughter traits), then the breeding value (B.V.) of the animal can be
estimated based on the performance of the relatives (dam, sisters and progeny).
Where B.V. is the additive genetic value or breeding worth of the animal or the
value of the individual based on the mean performance of the progeny. The pedigree
selection based on the performance of dam is not a good selection criterion for the
reason of halving process and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Number of progeny to be recorded per sire should be more. Advantages of progeny
testing It can be used for sex limited traits like milk production and slaughter traits
in meat animals which has low heritability. It is also useful to prove whether a sire
is free from any recessive gene or not. If a sire is identified as carrying an
undesirable trait then it should be culled. Progeny testing increases selection
intensity. Its accuracy increases with increase in number of progeny. Constraints and
Limitations Small population size and unplanned mating are two major constraints
of progeny testing. Problem of small population size can be avoided if the sires are
simultaneously tested in different associated herds or even by field progeny testing
programmes. This will help in increasing the accuracy of selection, as more number
of sires will be tested in different herds with more number of progenies. On the other
hand unplanned mating results in generation of wrong data which provides hindrance
in assessing the true genetic merit of an

Task: 309.1.1.05, 06 In business there are certain factors that have to be evaluated
before a company can see if a profit has been made. To even get to the point where a
profit will be made there has to be a product that is sold whether it is a tangible or an
intangible product. There has to be something that the business is selling in order to
make that profit. The amount of profit that is attained is the outcome of the total
revenue minus the total cost. This will then show the business what the remaining
profit is. Business is like a puzzle, all the pieces have to fit and work together to

If a company can make a profit with low expenses, then they have succeeded in profit
maximization. Companies strive to make a profit, but if they can reach their profit
maximization then that s even better.
Explain how a profit maximizing firm determines its optimal level of output, using
marginal revenue and marginal cost as criteria:
When a firm wants to determine its optimal level of output using marginal revenue
and marginal cost the firm needs these two to be equal. Marginal revenue is a
change in the total revenue when one or even more units of output are sold.
Marginal cost is the cost associated with producing one or more units. Optimal level
of output is the desired level of goods or even service that is produced by a company.
When the revenue and the cost become equal then the firm that uses profit
maximization to determine the optimal level of output has succeeded.
Explain what action a profit maximizing firm takes if marginal revenue is greater
than marginal cost:
In a profit maximizing firm when the marginal revenue is greater than marginal cost
the firm should increase production. If there is extra production that increases
revenue and doesn t add to cost, then of course profits will increase. When there is
increase revenue profits will go up, and with no additional cost to the increase. This
is something that is very ideal to a business. When this happens it s almost to perfect.

Muted Group Theory ( Mgt )
Muted Group Theory (MGT) is a critical theory because it is focuses on the power
structure and how it is used against certain people and groups. At times, critical
theories can divide the powerful and the powerless into a number of different
ways. MGT chooses to split the power spectrum into two main categories, men and
women. This MGT helps us to understand any groups that are silenced by the lack
of power in their language. In dominate groups or activity groups, there are
members who have less power that tend to fall silenced. One idea of MGT is that
members of stifled groups may, at least at times, experience a doubtfulness of
existence, seeing reality both as it is experienced from a dominant perspective and
also from their own, muted, perspective. For example, when there is a dominant
language or activity in a group, there are members who have lower power and could
feel silenced because of their lack of knowledge in that language or activity. The two
main components within MGT are dominant and subordinate groups. (Wall) These
are categorized into relationships between men and women.Edwin Shirley Ardener,
two social anthropologists, came up with the idea of MGT in the 1960s.They focused
on the ways that the communication practices of dominant groups suppress, mute, or
devalue the words, ideas, and discourses of subordinate groups . (Kramarae) Cheris
Kramarae took MGT a step further when she brought it into the field of
communication studies. In every group
Constraints In Negotiations
Introduction
In any negotiation process, there are always constraints involved and decision
making process involves an analysis of the gains and tradeoffs one has to go
through to reach the best optimal solution Decision making process is not just a
psychological process as perceived by many but more of a game theory because both
the bidder and the negotiator are faced by various constraints, which both have to
develop a model with both constraints and targets and later iterate to obtain an
optimum solution Here, again, BATNA (best alternative to a negotiated agreement)
comes into play; both parties must go for a sacrifice. None gets exactly what he
wants but goes for a better alternative. The opportunity cost of leaving the job must be
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This creates a dynamic whereby the party that supplies others with rewards
obligates them to pay back in some way,as failure to do so creates an incentive for
such a party to withhold such rewards and only supply them to individuals who will
refund it for its troubles. Thus, we can observe that increasing one s potential to
supply rewards to an interaction (i.e., improving one s contribution) can heighten an
individual s power through increasing his level of benefits that can be obtained from
the association.
With the objective to the attainment goal, negotiators here are motivated to maximize
their utility subject to constraints, which is accomplished through orienting
instructions (e.g., maximize the points earned in the negotiated solution ) and the
rewards (e.g., payment will be based on the points earned in the negotiated solution. ).
As a consequence, the attainment goals, and the operators generating outcomes that
tend to move towards the goal, have an influence on the search for solutions.
However, this agreement goal may alter the search for solutions that occur within the
fundamental problem space. More specifically, as solutions tend to unfold, they must
incorporate aspects of search by the other parties the duo mutually inform and also
constrain one
Chee-Gung
Qigong, pronounced chee gung , is the skill of body mind exercise which integrates
body, breath, and mind into one. It is translated from Chinese to mean energy
cultivation or working with life the energy (Dupler). Fire and water methods are
associated with qigong, but this is not like the classical Five Element. The fire
method involves an element force of tensing muscles, holding breathe, visualization
used in early stages, while the water method is based on relaxation and release,
smooth continuous breathing, developing qi flow, and internal structures. Three
regulations that come from qigong is learning body regulation, breathing, and mind.
The basic methods and regulations can be seen in traditional Chinese medicine.
Although Qigong is a fundamental element of Traditional Chinese medicine, it has
idiosyncratic characteristics of its own. Chinese scholars acknowledge Kongzi
(Confucius) and Mengzi (Mencius) are considered the founders of the qigong scholar
tradition, because within their writings they alluded to the concepts of qi training
methodology as being methods of moral training (Ni).
Scholars have estimated qigong may be 5,000 7,000 years old, but tracing the exact

Internal qigong involves exercises done to balance their qi. Tai Ch i is an example
of this. External qigong involves the practitioner working directly with qi of other
individuals. Medical qigong can overlap between internal and external in some
forms of qigong. One example of the overlapping is in Tao Fawu medical qigong,
because the external is a practitioner treating a patient, and the patient learning to
manipulate his or her own qi for specific medical purposes (Medical Qi Gong). Tao
Fawu, the modern version of qigong, was created to address modern problems. The

The Challenges Of Princess Diana As A Royal Princess
Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation or reward, safe in the
knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you. This quote shows
why Princess Diana was known as a kind hearted person. She overcame a lot of
obstacles, as in the tragedy of her parents, her marriage, and the problems she faced
as a Royal Princess.
Princess Diana was a royal princess. She was born July 1,1961 in Sandringham,
United Kingdom . When she was younger she attended Riddle worth Hall School
and also a Health School called West Health School. She finished school at Alpha
Vinemont in Switzerland. After school, she moved to London and became a
kindergarten teacher at Young England. Diana s parents were Frances Shanda Kyod
and John Spencer. Frances died of brain cancer and Parkinson s disease. Her father
died of a heart attack. Diana had five siblings. Two brothers and three sisters . Charles
Spencer her younger brother works as a journalist. John Spencer was another one of
her brothers that died the day of his birth January 12, 1960.
Lady Sarah McCorquodale is the oldest sibling she had a relationship with Diana s,
Prince Charles before him and Diana had meet she was twenty two, Charles was
twenty eight but the relationship was never serious between the two. Diana was a
sheriff in 2009, but then retired and took on Diana s memorial fund that ended

Animal Testing Should Be Banned
According to the ASPCA, 37 47% of American households are home to a dog, and
30 37% of households have cats ( Pet Statistics ). Pets are usually very important
members of the family, offering unconditional love, play, and cuddles. Now imagine
someone injecting or smearing chemicals and irritants on or under their skin. Or
even worse, squeezing irritants into their eyes, like those found in shampoos or
soaps, just to make life easier for consumers. These are only mild examples of the
animal testingthat goes on every single day around the world, and right here in the
United States of America. Animals are kept in lonely, cold, dirty kennels, and some
never see the light of day. They are tested on, force fed, and often mistreated even

As it happens, the dog was pregnant, and a pup was taken from the womb of the (still
conscious) mother, eliciting angered barking from her. When the pup was held to her
mouth, she tenderly licked it, but anything else held to her mouth was snapped at
furiously. The crowd delighted in this example of a mother caring more for her pup
than her own suffering and torture (Scutti). In 1937, the mass poisoning of many
consumers by the Elixir Sulfanilamide sparked public outcry. The drug was
developed to treat streptococcal infections, and included diethylene glycol.
Unbeknownst to the chemist, this solvent was toxic to humans (Scutti). Once the
drug was released, it caused the poisoning and subsequent death of more than one
hundred people. This mass poisoning led to the 1938 passing of the Federal Food,
Drug, and Cosmetic Act, which required products to be tested on animals before they
could be marketed to consumers (Scutti). Fast forward to the twenty first century,
when the European Commission banned animal testing in all cosmetics and the
ingredients contained in those cosmetics. On March 11, 2013, the European
Commission officially banned the sale, marketing, and manufacturing of cosmetic
products which have been tested on animals. Not only have products tested on
animals been banned, but products containing ingredients which have been tested on
animals were also banned ( Ban on ). In 2009, the Commission banned all
The Censorship Of The Digital Age
Are people s information online truly private? Do people know that privacy is no
longer guaranteed? Technological updates in digital spaces make our private
information easily accessible for anyone who is looking for it. There have been
plenty of instances of people s personal information being hacked. When a person
buys an item online or fills out a personal account, is their information safe? The
Ashley Madison hacking sandal was one of the biggest media controversiesof 2015.
The hacking of the adult website leaked personal information of high profiled
celebrities, politicians, and athletes. Information such as credit card numbers, phone
numbers, and addresses were leaked for everyone to see. Hackers can obtain private
information from any communication technology. Privacy in the digital age is
relevant because no one is safe online. Invasion of privacy is only getting worse
with new technology advances. The internet has millions of networks and websites
that require one s personal information. Each personal account holds a privacy
setting that should guarantee confidentiality but that is not always the case. The
advances of technology leads to situations that people are unprepared for such as
hacking personal data. Some may believe their information is secure online because
companies are always improving security. However, society will always be faced
with individuals who will want to steal information. Hackers use private information
for monetary value and
Leading Educational Change

to discuss the factors that have shaped my attitude and involvement in leading
educational change, and to investigate how my personal ability to manage change
has shaped my leadership of educational change. This discussion will be blended
with examples of change in my personal life, my own leadership experience and
references to the literature in the field of leading educational change. Status quo has
always been a term with negative connotations for me. There has always been a
feeling that without change, you stagnate and die, both personally and professionally.

I have observed first hand the fight/flight responses when a long standing principal
retired and the new leader began a program of change. Many staff became
aggressively resistant to the change agenda, while others simply found positions at
other schools. How then do those leading educational change demonstrate
understanding and encourage movement beyond these fears and this resistance?
Fullan Hargreaves (1998) have as one of their guidelines for leading change,
В‘move toward the danger in forming new alliances , and Fullan (1993) has as one
of his eight basic lessons of the new paradigm of change, В‘ Problems are our
Friends . Clearly trying to ignore the fears and avoid the resistance will not create
a healthy, viable change. I have found that often people who resist or fear a change,
when approached for their perspective and understanding on the proposed
innovation can begin to realign their position and become advocates for the change,
when they sense a feeling of connectedness with the change. Wheatley (1999:5)
supports this when she says To make a system healthier, we need simply to connect
it to more of itself. This means meeting together with those we have excluded or
avoided, those we never dreamed were part of our system of shared interest. Change
also brings hope and a sense of renewal. It reinvigorates, it inspires and is emotional.
Persuasive Essay About Transgender
Have you ever thought you weren t who you re supposed to be? Have you ever
thought you weren t the right gender? Well trust me there are a lot of people like
you. There has been so much controversy about transgenders though. Many are
criticized and some even harm themselves. They are discriminated against and are
bullied by some. They are told they can t do certain things because they are
transgender. They are told they cant use a certain bathroom and cant join the army.
These are the struggles of transgenders.
Transgenders are being told they cant use the bathroom they want to. There is a
story about a MTF (male to female) six year old that was told that she cant use the
girls bathroom at school. For a year and a half, it wasn t an issue. But in December,
Coy s school informed her parents that she would no longer be permitted to use the
girls restroom. (From school to society, the intolerance transgender people face).
The bathroom, and more specifically the public restroom, is where the rights of
transgender people come into close proximity with the privacy rights of everyone.
The Supreme court took a case on October 28, 2016 about a FTM (female to male)
high school student who wanted to use the boys bathroom. They agreed with the
previous statement about the privacy of the bathrooms. (Transgender Bathroom
Issue: a Solution?). This has proof that it has happened to many people in schools
and can help many people who are struggling with this.
Trump banned transgenders from joining the military.... WOW. Our president

Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States
Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any

and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you . A judge
in the federal court put a temporary ban on this request. He said his ruling was
because it was a disapproval of transgender people generally. (Judge Blocks Trump s

the numbers are there are small paper windows, which you will open to find a

Difference Between Standard English And Creole

texts is integral in understanding the narrative voices established within the texts as
well as the socio cultural differences illustrated. This paper seeks to address issues
raised by the representation of Creole in literary texts by closely examining three
articles, Language use in West Indian Literature, The Language of Earl Lovelace, and
Samuel Selvon s linguistic extravaganza: Moses Ascending . An important concept to
be discussed is the connection between ideological perspective and code choice.
In the article, Language Use in West Indian Literature written by Maureen Warner

In 1948, the birth of West Indian nationalism, diglossic language use signifies the
wave of dramatic productions. This is portrayed in Errol John s, Moon on a
Rainbow Shawl, 1958, where a poor educated girl, Ester, code switches. It is also
displayed in Freddie Kissoon s, God and Uriah Butler, 1967, when Uriah Butler
spoke Creole to his followers in informal situations but spoke Standard English in his
public addresses, in a private conversation with a legal advisor and a friend who is
more educated than him. The complications of sound meaning interpretation,
widened in situations of diglossia and multilingualism, offering the writer the option
of consciously encrypting multiple meanings into the literary text. In Dennis Scott s
More Poem both Standard English and Rastafarian English was used allowing for
ambiguity with a solitary voice and a salutary voice. Amongst prose writers, Samuel
Selvon has most often make use of the vernacular. In his first novel, A Brighter Sun,
1952, there was code switching from Standard English to Creole. His other novel,
The Lonely Londoners, 1956, he used a naturalistic flow with incorporating
vernacular idioms, affect and speech. The participant observer first person narrative
voice was established to carry out this purpose. The younger generations of writers

Also followed through his early years of football, Lynch had a love hate
relationship with the media. He hated the time he had to spend with them; they
loved every second of coverage they could share with the public. The interview that
was observed was Lynch s Super Bowl XLIX where Lynch gave one of the most
memorable interactions that fans had ever witnessed. Prior to this encounter, Lynch
had been fined thousands of dollars for failing to show up for a media day. As
Lynch arrived for the Super Bowl interview, he instantly pulled out his phone and

His quality seems to be his biggest ploy to encourage spectators to make their own
opinion of him. Because of his use of the other maxims, Beckham loses that ability
to move fans to think on their own. His abiding to relevance makes the interview
seem too rushed and forced, giving the impression that he wants the interview to end
as soon as possible. The flouting of quantity and manner was seen in the more
negative responses. With quantity, he would deny that anything that the media
recorded him saying and agree with others opinions when he previously so clearly
disagreed with. He seemed more untrustworthy in the way the media portrayed the
interview. With manner, he could not give clear, concise responses when he had to
cast blame or deny blame. This made Beckham seem nervous and unsure of what he
was saying. The media had complete control of how spectators would see things
although Beckham tried to adhere to the cooperation

understanding of the environment. This is through organizing and interpreting
sensory information to form a meaningful and clear picture of the world. Based on
different needs, values and expectations, different people will perceive and interpret
stimulus differently. For sensation, it is when the various sense organs of the body
receive a physical or mental response from a stimulus that will eventually be sent to

which it is exposed, will affect its sensitivity. According to... Show more content on

change in the label of Heinz tomato started with ketchup consumers having the
perception that its ketchup is full of artificial or potentially artificial flavours. This
gives rise to a need in redesigning the label by replacing the pickle with a tomato on
a vine. At the same time, the word tomato was enlarged within the tomato ketchup
designation, and Heinz also came up with a new slogan, Grown not Made . (Refer to
Annex C) The two sensory receptors used are the eyes and the mouth. Where sight is
the most important sensory input, Heinz uses the various positive stimuli to
strategically make changes to evoke positive emotions among consumers. The
perception of the taste of the consumer will be seen as sweeter and fresher without

Summary Of The Guardian
The Guardian
For as long as time itself, humans have been weak and fragile, in need of Guardians
to watch over them. At birth, a child is given a Guardian, and for the remainder of
their short life, that human is protected and guided by an unseen force. These chosen
few were fated to watch life pass on without truly experiencing it. They are the lonely
sentinels in an everlasting night, watching over a person s dreams for seventy years
before watching over another for seventy more, and on and on and on through
eternity.
Life offers infinite happiness, and thus, those who d hunt for this feeling of pure joy
pay with misery Fate collecting the debt and sentencing debtors to death. Every
mortal has chosen to trade their bodies on earth simply for the short, sweet taste of
life. When that probationary period called mortal life concludes, it is the Guardian
that leads the soul out of the confines of the body and to that Afterlife we speculate
so much about. In regards to this Afterlife, there is not much that can be said. Not for
fear of instigating a war of religions, but more because it is unknown. The Guardians,
because of their immortality, are forbidden to enter that place. To understand
something is to have power over it, and the Guardians simply cannot comprehend the
Afterlife; thus they are like children fearing the dark because they cannot see what
lurks within. No one to enter the Afterlife can return to share its secrets with the
world. Thus, the only information we

Comparing Holden And Conrad Essay
Holden and Conrad both have dealt with a major tragedy, sending them both into
depression. They deal with depression in different ways, but are going through
very similar situations, and have some very similar qualities about them and their
lives. They both lost their brothers, whom they were both very close to. Holden
and Conrad are both suffering with depression, but in different ways. Holden lost
Allie to cancer. Conrad lost his brother to a boating accident. Holden idolized Allie.
Allie was special; he had red hair, he was left handed, he wrote poems on his
baseball mitt. Allie was sensitive and caring, and to us Holden made Allie sound
like a saint. Allie s death played a major role in Holden s life. The day Holden
found out, anger took over, causing him to break the windows in the garage,
hospitalizing him with a broken hand. Holden s depression was caused by the death
of his brother, and because of that, he is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Holden becomes confused by Allie s death, so he lies to create a fantasy world of
his own. Conrad only lies to stay out of trouble. Conrad just wants to hide from
everyone and everything, so the only time he lies is so he can be unseen. While
Holden keeps everything in, Conrad knows he needs help and gets it. Holden
doesn t get the help he needs, and instead holds everything in. Everything he sees
depresses him, and he just wanders around New York looking for answers he will
never find. Conrad goes to a therapist. Dr. Berger makes a huge impact on Conrad
and his improvement. He makes Conrad relive what happened, and helps him deal
with the pain. Dr. Berger gets Conrad to forgive himself and move on. What
happens in the end is also different. Holden finally releases everything and goes to a
institution to help him. Conrad finally comes to peace with himself. His mom leaves
and I think that actually helped in the end. His father helps Conrad a lot as well, and
he finally forgives himself for Buck s
The Manipulation of Gender Roles in Shakespeare’s

The Manipulation of Gender Roles in Shakespeare s Othello
Of Shakespeare s great tragedies, the story of the rise and fall of the Moor of Venice
arguably elicits the most intensely personal and emotional responses from its English
speaking audiences over the centuries. Treating the subject of personal human
relationships, the tragedy which should have been a love story speaks to both
reading and viewing audiences by exploring the archetypal dramatic values of love
and betrayal. The final source of the tragic action in Shakespeare s The Tragedy of
Othello, the Moor of Venice has been attributed to various psychological, mythical,
racial, social sources: Othello s status as racial outsider in Venetian society, his pagan

The most illusive character in all of Shakespeare s drama, Iago is perhaps the most
difficult to explore psychologically for the simple reason that he lacks a personal
self. He dons and sheds gender like a closet of clothes, adorning each article as it
suits him. Ultimately evolved from the Vice figure of the medieval English
morality plays, as Bernard Spivack has convincingly argued, Iago is the
Shakespeare s dramatic and humanistic manifestation of the abstracted evil which
governed the dramatic movement of the previous generations of English plays.
The self he presents to the world is bound only by circumstance and not by
constitution. One key to Iago s power is his improvisational ability (Gutierrez 12).
Like the mythical Satan as Prince of Lies, he makes up his fabulous stories as he
goes along, playing off of others actions and reactions to his ever spinning web of
lies. Iago switches between the facades of emotion easily and fluidly. He admits
and affirms his hatred of Othello in the opening lines of the play (I.i.1 9) [All
citations are from the Bantam edition.] and reveals his intentions of betraying
Othello at his earliest convenience (I.i.44). In the very next scene, not more than 150
lines later, we find Iago in his role as sycophant openly fawning before the
The Political Leaders Following The End Of World War II
Identification and Evaluation of Sources
This investigation will answer the question, To what extend did weak political
leaders following the end of World War II result in the Communist Party assuming
complete political control over Czechoslovakia? This investigation is significant
because it addresses how a political group had the power to overwhelm not only a
government, but also an entire country. The shift from a social democracy to
communism resulted in many changes within Czechoslovakia, some of which are
still present today, despite the end of the communist regime. This investigation will
also look into the effects that World War II had on the spread of communism. The

The book was written in the form of an interview between the two and was written
in 2002, and the origin of the book is that it was published by Columbia University

from 1968 1970. Mikhail Gorbachev was the last leader Soviet Union and the General
Secretary of the Communist Party from 1985. A value is that Gorbachev goes into
details regarding the Prague Spring and the pathway to socialism, while a
limitation is that sometimes the conversation can feel forced and in some
instances it seems as though Gorbachev disagrees with Mlynar but he doesn t
follow up with his opinion. In this investigation there will also be an examination
of a speech given by Joseph Stalin. This speech was given by Stalin on January
17th, 1925 at the Czechoslovak Commission of the E.C.C.I. Joseph Stalin was the
leader of the Soviet Union from the 1920s until 1953. In this speech, Stalin
addressed issues affecting the Communist Party in Czechoslovakia. The purpose of
this speech was to address the issue of the Right party and why it posed a
dangerous threat to the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. The format of this
source is a value, as it allows the reader to develop a clear understanding of what the
speaker (Stalin) is trying to demonstrate and it also gives the perspective of a
Communist leader and the Communist presence prior to
Spongebob Square Pants has Many Attributes of the Greek...
He s not a child but he s childlike, he s not a grown up, he s not a kid, maybe he
sounds like an elf on helium, we ll play with it (Tom Kenney). Although, the
television show SpongeBob Squarepants is known for not taking anything
seriously, the characters are made of substance and real human attributes.
Characteristics like greed, power, and deception are all recognizable in Greek
gods from ancient mythology as well as in Mr. Krabs, King Neptune, and
Plankton. Greek gods and the characters of SpongeBob, as unlikely as this may
seem, are similar because each person is represented by one core characteristic. The

The more blunt side to Patrick relates to The god of silliness and stupidity (Greek
Mythology). If Patrick Star has an I.Q. it is a negative number. Also, Patrick is the
reason for all of the problems SpongeBob has to solve for him. Patrick creates
mayhem for his friends just like Koalemos creates mayhem for his fellow gods
(Theoi Koalemos). The sensitive and caring side of Patrick corresponds with
Philotes, the personification of affection and friendship (Greek Myth Index). Out
of all the factors making up the characterization of Patrick Star, the friendship he
has with SpongeBob stands out the most. When talking about what Patrick does
when SpongeBob is at work Patrick says, I wait for you to come back (spongybob).
The only thing Patrick can truly focus on is friendship and loyalty. The personality
of Patrick Star works well with Koalemos and Philotes. Eugene Krabs, owner of the
Krusty Krab, relates well to the Greek king Midas. King Midas is known for his
immense greed and wisdom (Greek Myths). King Midas had found favor in the gods
so God Dionysus was pleased with Midas and his decision not to punish Silenus,
thus he asked Midas what he wanted the most from his life in order to return the
favor (Greek Myths). Midas greed overwhelms him when he asks for everything he

extreme greed because of the way he overprices everything he
Why Building Administrations Have A Developing
Business...
Building administrations have been a developing business for a considerable length
of time, energized by the expanding many sided quality of electronic vehicle
frameworks, for example, motor administration, security framework programming,
and some more. The business sector progression were further pushed by the
propensity of vehicle producers to expand the obligation of their suppliers. It has
been and keeps on being essentially the stringent discharges enactment that has
brought building prerequisites up in Europe as far back as the mid 90s when the
primary Euro outflows standard produced results in 1993 (Euro 1). Amid the same
time frame, it has been a developing supplier and OEM test to guarantee that another
vehicle meets the current standarВd. While it was entirely reasonable to legitimize
the developing designing endeavors for huge arrangement generation vehicle extends,
the circumstance was rapidly breaking down for the creators of specialty models
subsequent to the mid 90s. Says Bernhard Bihr, Managing Director of Bosch
Engineering GmbH: Corner model OEMs dependably had a rational comprehension
of the assets that could go into adjusting arrangement auto items for their vehicles. In
any case, with discharges enactment getting harder and rivalry getting harder, they
understood that they required more parameters and capacities to be tweaked for their
make. Minor homologation was not adequate any more. At the point when Bosch

Plastic Bags: Replace, Reuse or Recycle
Plastic bags are an everyday part of our lives, we use them without thought and
often discard them in the trash once they are no longer needed. If you looked in
your kitchen in the pantry or under the kitchen sink; you would probably find a
significant number of plastic bags stored there. We rarely stop to think about what
the proper way to dispose of a plastic bag would be or if there is a proper way to
achieve this. Just take a moment to reflect about how much plastic based products
are a vital part of our everyday lives. Then ask yourselves, what we as a community,
can do to explore methods for the disposal of plastics bags. One option that comes to
mind includes contacting your local county representatives to ask about increased
recycling or proper disposal opportunities for plastic bags. If recycling plastic bags
in your local area is too cost prohibitive, then perhaps there should be a discussion on
alternative options the plastic bag.
Many people take for granted that plastic bags are recyclable when they are not a
commonly acceptable recyclable material. For instance, in Fairfax County, Virginia
which is a part of the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area and has a current
population of over 1 million people, there are currently no recycling facilities within
the county that accept plastic bags for processing. Consider for a moment how

Cuba, was elected president in 1940. At the beginning , he greatly improved the
education and economy. However, his term ended in 1944, when he moved to

Upon research, the statistics below show the impact illegal border crossing has on
Arizona. a)Over the past few years, many families have been faced with
unemployment, while struggling to find steady work. In 2011 8.7% of Arizonans
were officially unemployed, but in the prior year, 9.3% of illegal aliens made up
the workforce. That s 262,587 Arizonans left without jobs and 278,460 illegal
aliens with jobs. b)37% of Arizona s uninsured population contained is illegal
aliens, which was costing Arizona $320 million annually. c)New reports show that
tens of thousand illegal children will be attending public schools all over Arizona,
funded by taxpayers. This will cost Arizona 1.3 billion per year, which weighs
down Arizona s already struggling education system. Water Shortage As rainfall
levels continue to drop below normal for Arizona, the drought continues to raise
concerns. Although rainfall isn t necessarily a type of water source, most of the rain
Phoenix gets comes from the Colorado River, which in turn is also one of Arizona s
main sources of water and used for Arizona s water reservoirs, Lake Mead and Lake
Powell. Here are some concerning facts listed below: a)Lake Mead currently has 45%
of its capacity level filled, putting it at 1,085 feet above sea level. Lake Mead is
already at the lowest level since the 1930s and if the drought continues, it s expected
to drop to 1,000 feet by 2020. Phoenix currently gets half its
Erikson Guilt
The third stage of Erikson s psychosocial development is the initiative vs. guilt
stage which is typically experienced between four and five years of age. Erikson
(1997) describes this stage as where the child has to now find out what kind of
person he is going to be. The child displays behaviors that are described as
exploratory, curious and intrusive by always asking why questions. The crisis that is
encountered during this stage is found between the ability for the child to take
initiative in leading others, making decisions and experiencing a sense of guilt. The
guilt that can be experienced is caused if the parents do not allow the child to
explore. Initiative is developed when the child is positively reinforced to explore their
environment,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is also where Erikson believed the Oedipus complex or as Erikson preferred,
the early generational complex is seen. At this time, the child experiences genital
fantasies and feel an immense sense of guilt that further allows the child to
develop a conscious (Engler, 2009). Therefore, this Oedipal stage results in the
development of a moral sense that establishes permissible limits and begins to
attach childhood dreams realistically to the various possible goals of one s
technology and culture. (Engler, 2009). Overall, the main concept of this stage as
described by Erikson (1963), is the child s ability to engage in cooperative play and
have the ability to engage in purposeful action to later achieve major life goals. At
this stage in my personal development, I engaged in cooperative play with children
my age and distinctly remember playing games that revolved around things that were
familiar and desired such as playing house, making dinner, and emulating goals I
wanted to achieve such as playing Doctor and learning from my
The Importance Of Courage In King Arthur
Oftentimes courage is defined as the absence of fear, when in truth it is the acquired
ability to move beyond fear (Quizio). This is evident in Guy Ritchie s King Arthur:
Legend of the Sword. The film initially portrays the main character, Arthur, as an
arrogant and egotistical conformist that, despite his strength, is unable to face his
fears of the past. As the story develops, Arthur s character develops tremendously
along with it. His development motivates others, and himself, to believe in his
destiny. Arthur s newly developed courage and confidence allows those around him
to rely on his destined role, while also encouraging others to either adopt the quality
or forsake it. Despite the fact that courage is required to accomplish all of the
aforementioned actions, there are several traits that Arthur acquires before achieving
it. This awards Arthur with an abundant amount of honorable attributes while also
offering England a just and humble King. In Guy Ritchie s film King Arthur, courage
impacts Arthur s self and others, as it allows him to conquer fear, and to inspire
bravery, while developing the necessary qualities to do so. Guy Ritchie s film King
Arthur, demonstrates the way that Arthur and his community are impacted as he
acquires courage to face his fears. When Arthur is introduced to his destiny, his
initial reaction is to deny it due to his fear of not only giving control to the sword,
but also because of the memories it brings forth. Arthur s lack of

Deforestation In America s Rainforests
Brazil s rainforests and America s rainforests are great examples of the negative
effect that deforestation has on these specific areas. One of the rising challenges in
our rapidly growing world is the destruction of rainforests and how it is slowly
ruining the world that we live in. Deforestation has a lot of destructive impacts on the
environment that is surrounding us, one of the most important being its effect on the
climate. The fast rise in the world s population, calling for high demand of resources,
is only hastening the effects of deforestation, which can hopefully be put an end to
through the enforcement of a handful of simple, key, and sustainable solutions. The
fast rise in the world s population is one of the many major causes of deforestation.

Everyone has been told to do this, but I don t think everyone sees the importance
of recycling. Sure, a lot of people recycle, but there are a lot that don t. Recycling
has many benefits, but the major benefit is less destruction of forests. Again, the
rising population calls for many products that are made from trees, mainly paper.
Everybody in the world uses paper, whether it be in the form of books, pencils,
toilet paper, towels, and even shoes. All these paper products, and more, are a direct
result of deforestation, for the trees are taken down and turned into these products.
Say you have a whole box of school papers that you don t need anymore, and you
want to throw them in the trash. Instead of throwing it in the trash, you should
recycle it. When you recycle it, the paper goes to a factory, which adds other products
to it, melts it down, and molds it into other products. This process can eventually rule
out the need for deforestation, reducing the effects of climate change. Clearly,
recycling is one of the many sustainable solutions that can hopefully stop

His jealousy of Robert does become clear when the after dinner conversation never
turns to the husband:
For the most part, I just listened. . . they talked of things that had happened to them
to them! these past ten years. I waited in vain to hear my name on my wife s sweet
lips: And then my dear husband came into my life something like that. But I heard
nothing of the sort. More talk of Robert. (351 352)
When the conversation has turned to him, he realizes how more bland the topic is
and turns the television on for entertainment, even though he knows he is being rude.
The husband first begins to open up to Robert when he watches with admiration as
the blind man eats his food. He begins to see Robert as an independent man that has
learned to live life despite his disability. There is a moment of connection when they
all three finally begin the meal and he describes them as if they were all the same,
eating the same way, intently and seriously (351). The husband asks to share a joint
with Robert when his wife is not present, showing an indication of trust or maybe
cockiness (352). Though shocked of her husband s actions, the wife joins in when she
returns. When the wife has passed out between them, he commences to enjoying
Robert s presence. When Robert wishes to stay up with him, listening to the

Essay on The Transcontinental Railroad And Westward...
The Transcontinental Railroad and Westward Expansion
Thesis: The transcontinental railroad greatly increased Westward expansion in the
United States of America during the latter half of the nineteenth century.
The history of the United States has been influenced by England in many ways.
In the second half of the 1800 s, the railroad, which was invented in England, had a
major effect on Western expansion in the United States.
quot;Railroads were born in England, a country with dense populations, short
distances between cities, and large financial resources. In America there were
different circumstances, a sparse population in a huge country, large stretches
between cities, and only the smallest amounts of
money. quot; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Romantics dreamed of the discoveries of wild Indians, scouts and hunters, and, of
course, gold. Gold had been a desired find throughout the exploration of America.
The California Gold Rush of 1849 again created much excitement about the search for
gold.
The Pacific Railroads were founded when the Civil War was in progress. Until the
war was over, the transcontinental railroad was a giant enterprise stalled by much
bickering between a reluctant Congress and the Army, who had clamored for it
(Cooke 254). If it had been left to the government, it would have taken another twenty
years to complete the transcontinental railroad. However, it was a commercial
venture, and it was fortunately fed by the adrenaline of competition. There were two
railroad companies building the transcontinental railroad, the Union Pacific from the
East, and the Central Pacific from the West.
The two companies struggled to beat each other in slamming down a record mileage
of track. At first, Congress avidly pursued the project and they had stipulated that the
Central Pacific should stop when it reached the California Border
(Congress was full of Easterners). In 1865, after much argument about the aid the
government was providing to the two companies, the actual construction of the
transcontinental railroad was started. Then in 1866, Congress decided that two

Analysis On Value Map Or Value Network Analysis
Section 1: Analysis on a value map or value network analysis
Value Map or value network analysis (VNA) is used for companies to gain full
insights into how business is operating in term of relationship with its external
environment or actors. It is important to understand how to convert intangible or
tangible and knowledge assets and business relationships with external actors into
other forms of negotiable value. Moreover, based on current situation of own value
network analysis, an organization can analyze, evaluate and improve the capability of
a business position.
Lookbook.nu (LB) is a crowd sourced fashion site, founded in 2008, allows users to
upload photos of themselves in their own outfits, providing the brands and links
where such clothing products can be found, in order to get rated, commented by
the rest of the community. Based on the current position of LB s value network
analysis, (i) further analysis on external actors or roles will be made and focus on
the key roles that can benefit and add more value to the business operation, (ii) how
to make good relationship with external actors in order to successfully increase other
actors value and vice versa and finally, based on the existing business position, (iii)
identify and use different success strategies in order to gain more business
opportunities and for value creation.
Firstly, based on the existing value network analysis of LB organization, according to
the figure 1, it can be seen that there are five

A clear, colorless liquid was separated using fractional distillation. The identity of
this unknown liquid was found by the characteristic properties of flammability,
density, sugar solubility, boiling point, and odor. The liquid ended up being
flammable, and the density was below the average 0.79 g/cm3. Instead, we found
0.69 g/cm3. For the sugar solubility, it was found to be insoluble. The boiling was
found to be higher than the average is 57C. We found the boiling point to be 66C.
Lastly, the odor was found to be like nail polish remover, which is similar to or
known as Acetone. Therefore, our first liquid was found to be Acetone.
A clear, colorless liquid using fractional distillation. The identity of this unknown
liquid was found by the characteristic properties of flammability, density, sugar
solubility, boiling point, and odor. The liquid ended up looking flammable, because
of the Acetone. In reality, the liquid was not flammable. The density was 1.20 g
/cm3, and was higher than the average 1.00 g/cm3. The sugar solubility was
soluble. The boiling point we found was 99C, but the actual boiling point is 100C.
The odor was mimicked to smell like alcohol, but it really should have not had any

individuals so that the long term interest of the country would be exposed to external
danger. On the other hand, critics argued that prohibition against private ownership
of land is a serious limitation on the freedom of citizens. It was supposed to be left
for personal decision of individuals and families who have the right of possession and
ownership of land. This position seems to win the support of international institutions
such as the World Bank and International Monitory Fund (IMF) (Dessalegn, 2011).
3.3 Adoption of Free Market Economic System
As indicated above, the Derg Military Regime was overthrown by a coalition of a
number of liberation fronts that constitute the present ruling party namely the
Ethiopian Peoples Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF).One of the major
reforms introduced after the overthrow of the former Military Regime was to
introduce a free market economic system as a substitute to the previous command
economic system of the socialist era. The new economic system required
liberalization of all sectors of the economy including trade, investment and finance.
As a result, private companies were freely organized and entered in to the business
world. Private Banks, insurance companies and related institutions begin operating
throughout the country. Private entrepreneurs, both domestic and foreign, were
encouraged to open and function in Ethiopia. In short, the new open market
economic system has become the overall direction of national
Illiteracy, And Illiteracy In The Beverly Hillbillies
I definitely agree with Dean s claim that the program exploits hillbilly, redneck, or
white trash stereotypes. Poverty, working class, and illiteracy are always sensitive
themes that have ever been used to mock up the poor in the society, and the show
The Beverly Hillbillies is a specific example about this these themes. The episode is
about the Clampetts, who suddenly became rich, moved to a mansion in Beverly
Hill and tried their best to adjust to their new life. The director of the show
exploited four of the members in the Clampetts in a negative and stereotypical way.
They were all depicted as poor, illiterate, and foolish people. For example, Granny
put pieces of wood into the stove and ignited it. Or even though Jethro was a grown

Pyramid Of Power Analysis
The Pyramid of Power clearly demonstrated that men hold the ultimate power as
they placed on the top of pyramid (Lecture 3, Slide 7). With men being on top, it
means that women will have little power. The pyramid of power was arranged based
on the specific identities of every particular member that intersect with one another.
These specific identities include race/ethnicity, gender, religion, economic status,
sexual orientation, and so forth. Each individual is composed of several identities
that overlap to create oppression. The interaction of these identities is explained
through intersectionality theory (Lecture 3, Slide 14). Women are already
underprivileged compared to men. But, women of color are more at disadvantaged
in life compared to white women. This is due to the fact that women of color have
more intersecting identities that result in their oppression. In particular, women of
color deal with sexism differently as compared to other groups of women because of
their overlapping identities, such as race, gender and social class (Lecture 6, Slide14).

how gangsta rap could result in misogynistic problem among black women. The
mainstream media is using the gangsta rap as a tool to objectify to the extreme the
sexism and misogynistic among black women (Hook). Gloria Anzaldua also
explores how conflict with culture could be a factor in the oppression of Mexican
American women. In her culture, women have restricted set of roles that they should
obey, but Anzaldua does not conform to that norm. She acts differently and tried to
live her life on her own terms (Anzaldua, p. 16). The gangsta rap and culture clearly

An Informal Essay

  • 1. An Informal Essay Writing an essay on the topic of "An Informal Essay" poses a unique challenge. The task demands a delicate balance between structure and spontaneity, formal expression and colloquial tone. Crafting an informal essay requires a deep understanding of the genre's nuances, where the author's personality and voice shine through while maintaining coherence and clarity. The difficulty lies in striking the right chord between informality and coherence. It's about capturing the essence of casual conversation while still delivering substance and insight. This demands a keen sense of audience awareness and the ability to engage readers in a manner that feels authentic and relatable. Moreover, the informal essay invites a degree of experimentation and risk-taking. It encourages the writer to explore unconventional ideas, employ humor, and employ personal anecdotes to establish a connection with the audience. However, navigating this terrain without veering into the realm of aimlessness or irrelevance requires finesse and skill. The informal essay, by its very nature, defies rigid structures and formulas. It thrives on spontaneity and free-flowing thought, making it both liberating and daunting to tackle. The challenge lies in harnessing creativity while maintaining a sense of purpose and coherence throughout the essay. In conclusion, writing an informal essay demands a delicate balance of creativity, clarity, and authenticity. It's about embracing the fluidity of language and expression while staying true to the essence of the genre. Mastering this art requires practice, patience, and a willingness to embrace the unexpected. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net. An Informal Essay An Informal Essay
  • 2. Essay on Egyptian, Babylonian, And Hebrew Religions Egyptian, Babylonian, and Hebrew Religions Egyptians, Babylonians, and Hebrews have similarities yet also differences in their religions. The importance is not in the similarities as much as it is in the differences that distinguish the cultures from each other and their views on life. I would like to point out each civilization s creation and flood story. By analyzing these stories we can come to a better understanding of their world views. The Hebrew creation story from the book of Genesis is one that most people know well. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. The earth was without form and void. God said, quot;let there be light, quot; and there was light. He then separated the light from the darkness. He also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus the physical universe was created. People were created from Ra s tears. Time passed and Ra grew frail, so the ungrateful race of men plotted against Ra. When Ra learned of this he called the gods together. The gods decided that mankind must be destroyed. Tens of thousands of men were killed until only a few were left. Then Ra relented and man was spared. Nevertheless Ra was sick of the world and retreated into the heavens, leaving Shu to reign in his place. At that time the present world was established. The Babylonians have their own interpretation of the beginning. All things came from the water. From the mixture of sweet water, Aspu, with salt water, Tiamat, the gods arose. Aspu and Tiamat gave birth to a pair of gigantic serpents, Lakhmu and Lakhamu. These two serpents produced Anshar and Kishar, the heavens and the earth. Anshar and Kishar then conceived Anu, Enlil, and Ea. Aspu and Tiamat grew angry because the younger gods were noisy. So, they decided to destroy the new gods. Ea, the all knowing, learned of this plan and used his magic to capture Apsu. Tiamat became furious and created and army of gods and monsters to punish Ea and the others. Marduk was asked to stand against Tiamat and her army. Marduk promised to defeat Tiamat if he was given supremacy over the gods. Marduk defeated Tiamat and her army. While he was cutting up Tiamat s body he used half her body and created the dome of the heavens. With the other half he made the earth. Then to
  • 3. What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Progeny Testing Breeding value of the individual estimated on the basis of the performance of the progeny is called Progeny Testing. If the heritability (h2) of the trait is high and the animal is able to express the trait by itself then individual selection is the best method. But in case of many traits it so happens that the trait is expressed in only one sex (i.e., sex limited traits), or when the trait is expressed after the death of the animal (i.e., slaughter traits), then the breeding value (B.V.) of the animal can be estimated based on the performance of the relatives (dam, sisters and progeny). Where B.V. is the additive genetic value or breeding worth of the animal or the value of the individual based on the mean performance of the progeny. The pedigree selection based on the performance of dam is not a good selection criterion for the reason of halving process and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Number of progeny to be recorded per sire should be more. Advantages of progeny testing It can be used for sex limited traits like milk production and slaughter traits in meat animals which has low heritability. It is also useful to prove whether a sire is free from any recessive gene or not. If a sire is identified as carrying an undesirable trait then it should be culled. Progeny testing increases selection intensity. Its accuracy increases with increase in number of progeny. Constraints and Limitations Small population size and unplanned mating are two major constraints of progeny testing. Problem of small population size can be avoided if the sires are simultaneously tested in different associated herds or even by field progeny testing programmes. This will help in increasing the accuracy of selection, as more number of sires will be tested in different herds with more number of progenies. On the other hand unplanned mating results in generation of wrong data which provides hindrance in assessing the true genetic merit of an

To even get to the point where a profit will be made there has to be a product that is sold whether it is a tangible or an intangible product. There has to be something that the business is selling in order to make that profit. The amount of profit that is attained is the outcome of the total revenue minus the total cost. This will then show the business what the remaining profit is. Business is like a puzzle, all the pieces have to fit and work together to have the puzzle complete. If a company can make a profit with low expenses, then they have succeeded in profit maximization. Companies strive to make a profit, but if they can reach their profit maximization then that s even better. Explain how a profit maximizing firm determines its optimal level of output, using marginal revenue and marginal cost as criteria: When a firm wants to determine its optimal level of output using marginal revenue and marginal cost the firm needs these two to be equal. Marginal revenue is a change in the total revenue when one or even more units of output are sold. Marginal cost is the cost associated with producing one or more units. Optimal level of output is the desired level of goods or even service that is produced by a company. When the revenue and the cost become equal then the firm that uses profit maximization to determine the optimal level of output has succeeded. Explain what action a profit maximizing firm takes if marginal revenue is greater than marginal cost: In a profit maximizing firm when the marginal revenue is greater than marginal cost the firm should increase production. If there is extra production that increases revenue and doesn t add to cost, then of course profits will increase. When there is increase revenue profits will go up, and with no additional cost to the increase. This is something that is very ideal to a business. When this happens it s almost to perfect. • 5. Muted Group Theory ( Mgt ) Muted Group Theory (MGT) is a critical theory because it is focuses on the power structure and how it is used against certain people and groups. At times, critical theories can divide the powerful and the powerless into a number of different ways. MGT chooses to split the power spectrum into two main categories, men and women. This MGT helps us to understand any groups that are silenced by the lack of power in their language. In dominate groups or activity groups, there are members who have less power that tend to fall silenced. One idea of MGT is that members of stifled groups may, at least at times, experience a doubtfulness of existence, seeing reality both as it is experienced from a dominant perspective and also from their own, muted, perspective. For example, when there is a dominant language or activity in a group, there are members who have lower power and could feel silenced because of their lack of knowledge in that language or activity. The two main components within MGT are dominant and subordinate groups. (Wall) These are categorized into relationships between men and women.Edwin Shirley Ardener, two social anthropologists, came up with the idea of MGT in the 1960s.They focused on the ways that the communication practices of dominant groups suppress, mute, or devalue the words, ideas, and discourses of subordinate groups . (Kramarae) Cheris Kramarae took MGT a step further when she brought it into the field of communication studies. In every group
  • 6. Constraints In Negotiations Introduction In any negotiation process, there are always constraints involved and decision making process involves an analysis of the gains and tradeoffs one has to go through to reach the best optimal solution Decision making process is not just a psychological process as perceived by many but more of a game theory because both the bidder and the negotiator are faced by various constraints, which both have to develop a model with both constraints and targets and later iterate to obtain an optimum solution Here, again, BATNA (best alternative to a negotiated agreement) comes into play; both parties must go for a sacrifice. None gets exactly what he wants but goes for a better alternative. The opportunity cost of leaving the job must be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This creates a dynamic whereby the party that supplies others with rewards obligates them to pay back in some way,as failure to do so creates an incentive for such a party to withhold such rewards and only supply them to individuals who will refund it for its troubles. Thus, we can observe that increasing one s potential to supply rewards to an interaction (i.e., improving one s contribution) can heighten an individual s power through increasing his level of benefits that can be obtained from the association. Fullan Hargreaves (1998) have as one of their guidelines for leading change, В‘move toward the danger in forming new alliances , and Fullan (1993) has as one of his eight basic lessons of the new paradigm of change, В‘ Problems are our Friends . I have found that often people who resist or fear a change, when approached for their perspective and understanding on the proposed innovation can begin to realign their position and become advocates for the change, when they sense a feeling of connectedness with the change. Wheatley (1999:5) supports this when she says To make a system healthier, we need simply to connect it to more of itself. This means meeting together with those we have excluded or avoided, those we never dreamed were part of our system of shared interest. Change also brings hope and a sense of renewal. It reinvigorates, it inspires and is emotional.

Well trust me there are a lot of people like you. There has been so much controversy about transgenders though. Many are criticized and some even harm themselves. They are discriminated against and are bullied by some. They are told they can t do certain things because they are transgender. They are told they cant use a certain bathroom and cant join the army. These are the struggles of transgenders. Transgenders are being told they cant use the bathroom they want to. There is a story about a MTF (male to female) six year old that was told that she cant use the girls bathroom at school. For a year and a half, it wasn t an issue. But in December, Coy s school informed her parents that she would no longer be permitted to use the girls restroom. (From school to society, the intolerance transgender people face). The bathroom, and more specifically the public restroom, is where the rights of transgender people come into close proximity with the privacy rights of everyone. The Supreme court took a case on October 28, 2016 about a FTM (female to male) high school student who wanted to use the boys bathroom. They agreed with the previous statement about the privacy of the bathrooms. (Transgender Bathroom Issue: a Solution?). This has proof that it has happened to many people in schools and can help many people who are struggling with this. Trump banned transgenders from joining the military.... WOW. In this investigation there will also be an examination of a speech given by Joseph Stalin. This speech was given by Stalin on January 17th, 1925 at the Czechoslovak Commission of the E.C.C.I. Joseph Stalin was the leader of the Soviet Union from the 1920s until 1953. In this speech, Stalin addressed issues affecting the Communist Party in Czechoslovakia. The purpose of this speech was to address the issue of the Right party and why it posed a dangerous threat to the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. The format of this source is a value, as it allows the reader to develop a clear understanding of what the speaker (Stalin) is trying to demonstrate and it also gives the perspective of a Communist leader and the Communist presence prior to

Characteristics like greed, power, and deception are all recognizable in Greek gods from ancient mythology as well as in Mr. Krabs, King Neptune, and Plankton. The sensitive and caring side of Patrick corresponds with Philotes, the personification of affection and friendship (Greek Myth Index). Out of all the factors making up the characterization of Patrick Star, the friendship he has with SpongeBob stands out the most. When talking about what Patrick does when SpongeBob is at work Patrick says, I wait for you to come back (spongybob). The only thing Patrick can truly focus on is friendship and loyalty. Midas greed overwhelms him when he asks for everything he touches to turn to gold (Greek Myths). Mr. Krabs is characterized by this kind of extreme greed because of the way he overprices everything he

If you looked in your kitchen in the pantry or under the kitchen sink; you would probably find a significant number of plastic bags stored there. We rarely stop to think about what the proper way to dispose of a plastic bag would be or if there is a proper way to achieve this. Just take a moment to reflect about how much plastic based products are a vital part of our everyday lives. Then ask yourselves, what we as a community, can do to explore methods for the disposal of plastics bags. One option that comes to mind includes contacting your local county representatives to ask about increased recycling or proper disposal opportunities for plastic bags. If recycling plastic bags in your local area is too cost prohibitive, then perhaps there should be a discussion on alternative options the plastic bag. Erikson (1997) describes this stage as where the child has to now find out what kind of person he is going to be. The child displays behaviors that are described as exploratory, curious and intrusive by always asking why questions. The crisis that is encountered during this stage is found between the ability for the child to take initiative in leading others, making decisions and experiencing a sense of guilt. This is evident in Guy Ritchie s King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. The film initially portrays the main character, Arthur, as an arrogant and egotistical conformist that, despite his strength, is unable to face his fears of the past. As the story develops, Arthur s character develops tremendously along with it. His development motivates others, and himself, to believe in his destiny. Arthur s newly developed courage and confidence allows those around him to rely on his destined role, while also encouraging others to either adopt the quality or forsake it. Despite the fact that courage is required to accomplish all of the aforementioned actions, there are several traits that Arthur acquires before achieving it. This awards Arthur with an abundant amount of honorable attributes while also offering England a just and humble King. In Guy Ritchie s film King Arthur, courage impacts Arthur s self and others, as it allows him to conquer fear, and to inspire bravery, while developing the necessary qualities to do so. Guy Ritchie s film King Arthur, demonstrates the way that Arthur and his community are impacted as he acquires courage to face his fears. Recycling has many benefits, but the major benefit is less destruction of forests. Again, the rising population calls for many products that are made from trees, mainly paper. Everybody in the world uses paper, whether it be in the form of books, pencils, toilet paper, towels, and even shoes. All these paper products, and more, are a direct result of deforestation, for the trees are taken down and turned into these products. Say you have a whole box of school papers that you don t need anymore, and you want to throw them in the trash. Instead of throwing it in the trash, you should recycle it. When you recycle it, the paper goes to a factory, which adds other products to it, melts it down, and molds it into other products. This process can eventually rule out the need for deforestation, reducing the effects of climate change. Clearly, recycling is one of the many sustainable solutions that can hopefully stop

The Pacific Railroads were founded when the Civil War was in progress. Until the war was over, the transcontinental railroad was a giant enterprise stalled by much bickering between a reluctant Congress and the Army, who had clamored for it (Cooke 254). If it had been left to the government, it would have taken another twenty years to complete the transcontinental railroad. However, it was a commercial venture, and it was fortunately fed by the adrenaline of competition. There were two railroad companies building the transcontinental railroad, the Union Pacific from the East, and the Central Pacific from the West. The two companies struggled to beat each other in slamming down a record mileage of track. At first, Congress avidly pursued the project and they had stipulated that the Central Pacific should stop when it reached the California Border (Congress was full of Easterners). In 1865, after much argument about the aid the government was providing to the two companies, the actual construction of the transcontinental railroad was started. With men being on top, it means that women will have little power. The pyramid of power was arranged based on the specific identities of every particular member that intersect with one another. These specific identities include race/ethnicity, gender, religion, economic status, sexual orientation, and so forth. Each individual is composed of several identities that overlap to create oppression. The interaction of these identities is explained through intersectionality theory (Lecture 3, Slide 14). Women are already underprivileged compared to men. But, women of color are more at disadvantaged in life compared to white women. This is due to the fact that women of color have more intersecting identities that result in their oppression.
