The Better Angels Of Our Nature
Today, in a social media ridden world where there s no communication gap, allows news from
around the world to be delivered to us in matter of seconds. Almost every day we hear about a
shocking act of violence, whether it s a terrorist bombing, a senseless rape or a gruesome
murder. These tragedies makes us wonder, What is the world coming to? However, we forget to
realize that in fact today s world is much more peaceful compared to how dangerous life was
thousands of years ago. As pinker stated, Brutality was once woven into the fabric of daily
existence (2). Therefore, in order to understand the violence we witness today, it s important to
acknowledge how bad the world was in the past. In this paper, just as pinker did in his book The
Better Angels of our Nature , I will also argue that violence has decreased tremendously over the
centuries by using numerous evidence and statistical data. The Pacification process, Civilizing
process, and other sanctions throughout millenniums are just some of the changes that resulted in
the decline of violence throughout history.
In his book The Better Angels of our Nature , Pinker uses works from Homeric Greece, evidence
from The Old Testament, and early modern Europeto support his claim that after a millennia of
bloody violence, human kind is entering a peaceful existence. In order allow readers to understand
the violence we witness today, Pinker begins by examining the origins of violence; He uses

Pride In King Lear
King Lear s new personality at the end of Shakespeare s King Lear reveals how pride influences a
character and causes mental destruction, eventually leading one to downfall. From the very start of
the play, Shakespeare introduces King Lear as a self centered person already filled with enormous
pride. King Learportrays his self centered characteristic by expressing his desire to be treated as
king without having to bear or perform a king s responsibility. With his pride, King Lear demands
affection by showing his superiority over everyone and that he is better than them. However,
counteracting King Lear, Cordelia crushes King Lear s pride by demonstrating how he is less
important than what he seems. Rapidly, King Lear loses the support of the

Was The Holocaust Justified
Some speculate that the Holocaust never happened despite ample validation from substantial
sources that remain still to this day. What constitutes this reasoning and why do they persist in their
doubts in the face of evidence?
Deniers of the Holocaust choose to ignore the facts of this historical event and argue that the allies
used it as a way to justify their actions. They believe that the holocaust was a conspiracy cooked up
to propagate for the Jews, Israel, and the great powers of World War II. The lack of signed
documents or records of authorization from Hitler lead some to conclude that the Holocaust was a
hoax. This can only mean that these deniers discard the public records and documentation at the

We cannot forget that the initiation of this event began with racial persecution in 1933 until the
persecution of the Jews in 1939. The genocide that took place was due to Nazis claim for

taken seriously. Hiding behind the title Holocaust revisionists to make their work seem more
credible. For example, the institute for Historical Review, a Holocaust denial organization,
attempts to portray itself as a legitimate source of scholarly critique by adopting formats used by
professional associations of historians (Waitman 349). Deniers try to shift your focus to minor
inconsistencies in the historical record and in personal reports from Holocaust survivors. David
Irving, a Holocaust denier, is an author who argued that Hitler did not know about the Holocaust.
In a famous lawsuit against American historian Deborah Lipstadt, Irving sued her for criticizing
him as a denier. She had to prove in court his dishonest manipulation of primary sources and called
other scholars to serve as witnesses. In 2000, the court ruled in strong favor of Lipstadt and
discredited Irving as a historian (Waitman 349). Even though she won this, the Internet has made
denial of the Holocaust more noticeable and accessible through many non scholarly

Comparing Gilgamesh And Noah s Ark
Many ancient legends recur in different cultures. The general theme gives the same message or
just has striking similarities but each story differs in many aspects. New cultures develop from
the older ones. They do so by taking stories from older ones and further developing it to mirror
their own time. One story that has been repeated in several cultures is the legend of the disastrous
flood. The epic of Gilgameshand the Bibles Story Noah s Arkhave this legend in them but specific
details differ on several occasions. The Epic Of Gilgamesh is an epic poem from ancient
Mesopotamia that is said to be the earliest surviving great work of literature hence, the epic was
set 5000 years before the Bible, yet the same situation occurred in the Bible many years later
could this mean that the story was passed down from generation to generation till it was
incorporated into the Bible. If this is a possibility then were other legends also stories passed down

Haig s Reputation as the Butcher of the Somme Essay
Haig s Reputation as the Butcher of the Somme
In the run up to the war, Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig was appointed the Director of Military
Training. In an effort to create a reserve standard army which could double up as a home front
defence force, plus a fighting unit for use abroad, he managed to achieve this by pushing for
legislation that lead to the creation of the TA (Territory Army) and the BEF (British Expeditionary
Force) which were to be later used in the war effort in the war to end all wars . Haig is most
famously renowned for his involvement in the hundreds of dead soldiers strung out like wreckage

His apparent lack of emotion leads me to how he may deserve the label of being the butcher of
the Somme . This reveals when he says the nation must be taught to bear losses. This heartless
attitude bears resemblance to the rule of Bloody Mary as Queen of England when she persecuted
Protestants in an attempt to bring England back to the Roman Catholic faith. He is also inferred to
be a butcher as he did not stop the men from going over the top when he saw that his particular
plan of action was not working in its current state
Even though the Somme was a terrible disaster, it served in a positive light to be a learning
curve for the British Battalions/Sections/Corps/and generals. With the benefit of hindsight, it
showed the Allies that their was a serious, inadmissible problem in their ranks because how such
a mass scale massacre of men could happen after such a well planned offensive from high up the
ranks to Haig himself is a clerical atrocity. Firstly, the barbed wire pounding was a good idea in
theory however it only served to in practice make the wire entangle so that it was thick to the point
that daylight could barely be seen through it . But, it could be argued that because Haig suggested
the idea after being prompted

Characteristics Of A Survivor
Crack! A heavy rock shifts to the right as Aron Ralston places his hand directly under it, pinning his
arm to the rock surrounding him and tearing the skin off of his forearm. Ralston tries many
different methods to escape but ultimately is forced to saw off his arm with a small knife. Aron
Ralston, Bethany Hamilton, and Hyeonseo Lee are all extraordinarily brave, persistent and patient
people that made it through difficult and life endangering situations. Ralston exhibited the
characteristicof a survivor whenever he was stuck in a seemingly hopeless situation, as did
Bethany Hamilton and Hyeonseo Lee. In order to be a survivor, a person needs patience,
bravery, and persistence. One of the most important characteristics of a survivor is patience.
Whenever Hyeonseo Lee was attempting to help her family escape from North Korea, she said I
did everything to get my family to freedom, and we came so close, but my family was thrown in
jail. . . I went back and forth between the immigration office and the police station, desperately
trying to get my family out. . . I didn t have enough money to bribe or fine anymore. I lost all
hope. (Hyeonseo Lee, Ted Talks). Hyeonseo Lee had the patience to wait for things to get better,
and if she wasn t patient and had given up on her family they most likely wouldn t have been
successful with their escape. Lee continuously went back and forth between places that were
holding her family to try to get them out, and she never gave up for

Social Networking in the Workplace: Are There Benefits to Using
Social Networking in the Workplace?
Jaime Holt
Strayer University
Abstract
Social networking has become as popular as the telephone, email, and Internet. This new medium
brings concerns of confidentiality and liability to many organizations. However, it has also proven
to be an effective recruiting and marketing tool. Many employers are struggling with finding a way
to monitor employee s usage and content, while promoting their company at the same time.

Not only are these sites great for recruitment, but they also allow companies to quickly update
people about unfolding events, like conferences, and also inform the community of potential
threats, such as the H1N1 outbreak. Many of these updates are posted using Twitter, which is the
site that asks, What are you doing? in 140 characters or less. Large organizations, like the
Society for Human Resource Management use Twitter to publicize annual conferences (Twitter Is
the Latest Electronic Tool, 2009). Social networking sites also allow companies to communicate
news and details about special offers directly to the consumer. It also allows for the consumer to
give feedback and receive an actual response from a live person, rather than an automated email.
Daniel Schwartz, an attorney with Pullman Comley LLP, described Twitter as a unique
communication tool that, if used properly, can really help a company grow in outreach and brand
marketing. Not only do these sites help with brand marketing and recruitment, but they also create
a record of activity which can prove to be a useful tool to the employer who notices there is too
much activity on the sites from employees during work hours (Twitter is Latest Electronic Tool,

The Practice Of Electroconvulsive Therapy
The practice of electroconvulsive therapy has been a subject around which controversy thrives for
decades since its original institution. Public fears stem from all kinds of sources whether they be
rational and claim base in science, based on the social context surrounding administration of the
treatment, or simply based on the fact that inducing convolutions through electric shocks to the
head seems like a peculiar and disturbing manner in which to treat an illness. Some ethical
resistance to the treatment may have been born in the 60s when it received attention in various
forms of popular media. Ken Kesey s book and eventual movie, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest,
depicts ECT as an oppressive tool of the system, used to stifle and... Show more content on

There are obvious acute side effects associated with ECT. Many patients experience disorientation
immediately following the therapy. Also, ECT seems to commonly catalyze retrograde amnesia,
which causes a patient to forget events that happened soon before the procedure began. Heightened
anxiety encouraged by the anticipation of ECT is another side effect. It is typical of these side
effects to dwindle as time progresses after the treatment. However, the idea that these symptoms
may persist for enough time after the treatment to be considered long term side effects is one that is
still debated. The intention of this article is to leave social factors behind and determine whether or
not, when done properly, ECT has any long term negative cognitive or physical effects on the
patient that would overwhelm the advantages of the treatment. There have been propositions that
ECT has outstanding long term effects on the heart, memory function and also that it may
contribute to or cause brain damage. Also, studies suggest high rates of mortality directly caused
by ECT. In the following paragraphs each hypothesis will be examined based on evidence provided
by various studies within the scientific field. Some organizations

Examples Of Revenge In The Duchess Of Malfi
John Webster s The Duchess of Malfi can be viewed as a revenge tragedy. The Duchess was
murdered on the order of her two brothers, Cardinal and Ferdinand, because of her sexual
transgressions and her secret marriage with her subordinate household steward, Antonio, with
whom she had also borne two children. Through this play, Webster addresses many issues that
were highly prevalent in Jacobean age. This play is a concoction of issues like social mobility,
gender norms, revenge and also has violence in large proportions. We see that class status does not
protect the Duchess against men s violent acts. The murder of the Duchess is not really considered
a murder by the brothers but an act that is done to protect their familyname in the society... Show

Men were supposed to be the powerful ones and women wee meant to do the household work
and bear children. The power and authority lied with the men while women were not given
importance in matters of authority. We see this when Ferdinand and Cardinal attempt to
regulate her behavior during their absence by forbidding her to remarry. However, some women
did have authority. This was the time of Queen Elizabeth who had ample power and had worked
hard to keep her reputation in a time when there was rising gender apprehensions. Such was the
case with the Duchess of Malfi as well. She was a woman with power and authority and wealth.
The Duchess was a woman of strength and did not have a fear of defying authority. Even after
her brothers had told her not to remarry, the Duchess went against their wishes and remarried that
also beneath her status. Her brothers see her defiance as not merely a challenge to their authority
but also an act that has hit them hard and made it imperative for them to teach her a lesson. The
society wanted to curb and control women mentality. In a time period when the mentality of the
people were to not let women have freedom to act as they like, was the Duchess, an all powerful,
economically and sexually independent women standing up for what she believed in. she appeared
as a threat to society. A threat who had to be controlled before other women saw her and began

The Price Of Rent Prices And Increase The Supply Of Rental...
The concept of negative gearing is a difficult one to make decisions on. This is owing to the fact
that, as much as it should, in theory, lower rent prices and increase the supply of rental properties, it
certainly doesn t seem to be the case in the Australian property market. The government s position,
as stated by the Honourable Mathias Cormann, Minister for Finance, is to, presently, not make any
changes.
... the government has absolutely no plans to make any changes to negative gearing... [because] if
you are going to reduce the supply of private rental properties, you will push up the cost of rents
and you will reduce housing affordability... .
However, to not make any changes to negative gearing does not seem to be helping the property
market, nor the government, but seemingly neither will abolishing it. By abolishing negative
gearing deductions, the government could run the risk of causing defaults, bankruptcies, and
emergency sales as investors struggle or fail to make ends meet with their negatively geared
properties, causing properties to flood the housing market and a reduction in the number of rental
properties available. Nevertheless, to leave it unchanged allows high marginal tax rate investors to
continue to minimise their tax, at the expense of the government, by purposely negatively gearing
their investment properties. A change needs to be made to the negative gearing policy and perhaps
the most equitable way is to look at and change the Capital Gains Tax

Eye Contact
Eye Contact
Books and articles that have been written about speech delivery include the immediacy behavior of
making good eye contact. Eye contact is necessary for conversation and public speaking. However,
eye contact is a learned behavior and the duration of eye contact varies within different cultures.
American parents have taught their children to make eye contact but not to stare, because staring is
rude in the American culture. As you walk down the halls at college or in a department store, you
look at a person in the eye, nod, and then look away. If you are talking to an American and do not
make eye contact, it will make you appear uninterested or dishonest. However, a person who was
raised in Japan may become uneasy if you make eye contact (Richmond McCroskey, 2000).
Furthermore, in different countries around the globe, eye contact ... Show more content on

Good eye contact is an ambiguous idea. Ridiculous advice has been given about how to appear
to connect to the audience if a speaker has difficulty making eye contact. For example, authors
have suggested that you look on the wall behind the audience, spanning back and forth, so it will
seem that you are looking throughout the crowd. Spanning back and forth will only give your
audience motion sickness, and they will look down or away to avoid this uncomfortable
situation. Another suggestion is that you look at a spot on a person s shirt or at an audience
member s forehead. If you stare at a woman s shirt, she may think that you have diverted your
eyes to parts of her body that it is inappropriate to stare at. If you look at the foreheads of your
audience, this could be a distraction. Those who do not feel comfortable looking at people in the
eye need to break themselves of this, and look at people in the eye. This is not to stare. Make

`` Handbook Of Christian Apologetics `` Essay
Christian teachings have been challenged by unbelievers since the beginning of history. Today,
because the new discoveries of science, the existence of God has been doubted even more, and as
a consequence, society has become more selfish, self centered and self existent. Questions such as,
Does God actually exist? Is there any evidence of his existence? Is it Christianity the only true
religion? have been asked by believers and unbelievers through the past centuries. Two philosophers
from Boston College, Peter Kreeft, and Ronald K. Tacelli, in their book Handbook of Christian
Apologetics answer the most common questions about faithand reason, Gods existence, Christ and
other Christian doctrines.
In Chapter 1, Kreeft and Tacelli talk about the importance and need for Apologetics. It
importance comes, first, because with Apologetics we are able to give reasons for faith as an act
of obedience to God. And secondly, because Apologetics is necessary to convince unbelievers and
build up believers. Furthermore, apologetics is extremely needed today because we are living in a
civil, cultural, intellectual crisis, and especially a spiritual one. Thus, we need truth and trough
Apologetics, with faith and reason, we can find it.
In Chapter 2, faith and reason are described as allies. They are interrelated. As faith is a subpart of
reason, reason is a subclass of faith. Both of them are necessary for Apologetics, without faith and
reason Apologetics is impossible. Faith and reason

Restorative Justice And Restitution Process
When we wrong someone, we seek his or her forgiveness in order for the relationship to be
restored. as noted by (What is a definition for forgiveness, n.d). It is extremely hard to forgive, it
is even harder to forgive someone who has taken a love one s life, and it is understandable for
someone to be apprehensive to restorative justice and restitution process. However, as a member of
this family, it is felt that it would be beneficial to obtain a deeper understanding restorative justice
and restitution process to determine if this is the best fit for the family.
The main priorities of restorative justice is the victims and the restoration of the community to
which the crime occurred. During earlier times restoration justice was used as a procedure to deal
with property crimes (Britto, S., Reimund, M. E., 2013). It has been said that the reason restoration
justice was used for these types of crimes were because it was easier for the offender to right their
wrong through restitution. Restorative Justice has grew increasingly throughout the criminal
justice system over the years. Now, the program is used to ignite affords of victim offender
mediation and dialog aiming to empower victims (Britto, S., Reimund, M. E., 2013). Many feel that
having an open dialog about murder or crimes in general increases the chances of restoring the
community and righting the victim wrong. Restorative Justice requires offender to recognize and

What is Gestalt Therapy? This is a question that has divided therapists for decades. Although Gestalt
Therapy is based on a set of techniques, it is ultimately the therapist own defined style that makes it

According to G.M. Yontef (Awareness, Dialogue and Process Pg 203), Gestalt Therapyis: 1. a

Premature closure feels better that leaving it open, but since the need is still unmet, it will continue

Another aspect of contact is that contact itself is but the highlight of a contact withdrawal cycle ,
i.e. a cycle that occurs and reoccurs. Habitually, the therapist backs off and comes back again,
listening quietly without straining to figure everything out; information is given in a calm but
impersonal manner. It is important that the session itself develops a natural rhythm. Meaningful
contact cannot be attained or attempted every second. The client also needs to work hard to

doing all the work, than the client s needs may not be met or the therapist may be feeding into
their desire to be spoon fed. If on the other hand the client is doing much more of the work, then
the therapist may need to loosen up and give more of himself. Sometimes, the therapist may need to
have the client be still and quiet so that he can do the work.

between violence and nonviolence. In his assessment of financial resilience through public
sentiments, Denzer s overinvestment in evidence that measures peace through actual violence
versus potential violence discredits various disputes that have escalated diplomatically, but have
yet to turn violent. Denzer supposes that all liberalizing change must involve varying degrees of
violence, ipso facto breaching a threshold of peace. Denzer profoundly overlooks the generally
peaceful regime changes in Egypt and Tunisia, which, like so many others, were predominantly led
by civil disobedience, civil resistance, and online activism, rarely intensifying into violent
demonstrations. Denzer s assessment also misses cold or still conflicts, whose underlying causes
and historic underpinnings have surfaced amid the ever competitive, protectionist nature following
Great Recession. Take for example China and Japan s diplomatic clash over the contested Senkaku
Islands. For four decades, Chinese and Japanese grievances have been reshaped in light of new
regional expectations and financial conditions. In Japan s case, the

Essay Overcoming Fear
There is an important event that happens in every person s life. That important event may be a
number of things. Such as someone winning the lottery or even having a tragic loss in the family.
My important event in life was the day I conquered my fear of heights. Everyone has some type of
fear or phobia that absolutely petrifies them. Whether it s a fearof snakes, swimming, or even
germs, it can be conquered as I discovered.
That day I overcame my fear of heights took place at Six Flags over Texas. The day started out
with my five friends and me going to a Student Council convention. After the convention we were
granted access to Six Flags for the whole day. Now the only problem for me was Six Flags had
roller coasters. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rides entrance itself made my legs weak with sheer fear. The pathway was like a maze and
then the stairs appeared to warn me, by saying turn back now. As I climbed each step I tried
numerous times to escape. The escape attempts were foiled by my so called friends blocking the
only exit. I said, Come on guys I can die another day. Audrey quipped, Oh come on Taylor, man up
and go on the ride. Now I can t really describe the feeling of having a woman tell me to man up. I
said, Ok I got this. I shrugged off all my anxiety and nerves and just went with it.
I started feeling confident as I waited in line. Finally the moment arrived where I took my seat
on the coaster. At this point my anxiety and fear came rushing back all at once and my blood
even seemed to boil. I realized though if I didn t do this now I probably never would. So I pulled
the bar over my stomach and tried not to puke.
I closed my eyes as the ride ascended from the platform and came to a stop at the peak. I opened my
eyes to nothing but the skyline. I said, Guys if I survive this I m going to kill you all. The
moment of truth was upon me now. The Coaster was at the mercy of gravity as we descended
the massive drop. In the split second I had before we fell off the earth I knew there was nothing I
could do to stop ride. As I

American Slavery Essay
Enormous changes swept through nearly every facet of American society in the years between the
American Revolution and the Civil War, and the institution of slavery was no exception to this rule.
Prior to the Revolution, slavery existed in every American colony. The growing population of
settlers was founded on and maintained by notionsof inequality, in which indentured servantsand
slaves provided the necessary manpower for the development of a largely agricultural economy and
the settlement of an ever diminishing frontier. First and second generation whitesbegan to equate
race and servitude as white indentured servitude waned and black slaves came to represent the
primary source of forced labor in the Americas. In the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As natural increase and an end to the importation of African slaves stabilized the slave
population, new generations of Creole slaves began to form a distinctive African American
culture. At the same time, most white slaveholders were now fourth or fifth generation masters
who lived and worked near their slaves and took a keen interest in their welfare and affairs. A
new felt paternalism both improved the physical treatment and condition of slaves and served to
further restrict and dictate their lives. The rise of evangelicalism in the 1830s provided Southern
whites with a justification for demanding obedience by focusing on individual piety and salvation
in the hereafter; in the North, by contrast, that new religious fervor became an impetus for social
reform and empowered some whites to try to rid the world of its many evils, including slavery.
Slavery underwent significant changes as the country moved from the colonial to the antebellum
era. The American slavery of 1760 1861 was shaped by the political, economic, and religious
changes affecting the nation as a whole; the latter day manifestation of slavery was both a major
departure from and an indisputable product of the earlier institution.
Following the American Revolution, whites subscribed to new egalitarian notions of government
and liberty throughout the United States. By the time of Independence, slavery was an established
facet of American society, but the

Explain How Has Jean Valjean Changed As He Interact With...
How has Jean Valjean changed as he interacted with other characters?
Jean Valjean has changed when he interacted with the Bishop of Digne. A little background on
these two characters is that the Bishop of Digne is the man who saves Jean Valjean with his
compassion. Jean Valjean is the hero and the main character in the movie. What was happening
during this scene is that Jean Valjeanjust got out of prison and he was looking for work and
nobody really accepted him because he just got out of prison and the Bishop let Jean Valjean in
his home. In this sense the Bishop of Digne just let Jean Valjean into his home and gave him food,
then while everyone was sleeping Jean Valjean stole silver that the Bishop of Digne owned, Jean

Developing A Specialized Not For Profit Advocacy Group
Our solution is to develop a specialized not for profit advocacy group, which focuses on policy
change and bridging the gap between local government, non profits, and the federal government.
Furthermore, we will fill the void within these entities with additional resources. Our group will
be composed of a full time paid staff, a board of specialized individuals (ex. Lawyers, professors,
government officials), and a network of community volunteers. Our staff will handle the day to
day operations necessary for an efficiently run business, while our board of specialized
individuals will donate their time/services for tasks outside the capabilities of staff members (on
an as needed basis). The group of community volunteers will be a tremendous asset to the
advocacy group, by providing services to those facing hardship from unemployment. Regardless
of a person s position, paid or unpaid, each member of our advocacy group will work as partners
of the organization. It will function as a democratic body, as opposed to the bureaucratic structure
mostly seen in government and nonprofit agencies. Our advocacy group focuses on 3 aspects to aid
in reducing unemployment 1) Implantation of resources for the general unemployment population;
2) Acting as the middleman between government and the private sector services; 3) Policy Reform.
Newark has many nonprofits that assist with career services, job matching, and training, however
they are specialized for particular groups of people. The

The Ride Home From Church
The ride home from church wasn t much different from any other day. My mom was lecturing me
about sports. This time it was about soccer. We would be starting games this week and my mom
was worried, just like she usually is.
Are you sure you want to keep doing this? She annoyingly asked me. I had gotten used to this
because of the countless times before that she asked it
There are so many other things you could do with yourself. You are in band, clubs, and have some
amazing grades. You don t have to do this.
Please stop. I said to her, like I normally would.
I wish you could just do something safer, Gab. Especially after last year.
At this point I ve heard all of it before and I had enough of it. I looked out the window, ignoring
every word she said after that. Finally she decided it would be best if she left me alone. She must
have finally come to her senses and realized that I wasn t going to change my mind.
My eyes start to water slightly, You taught me never give up and I never will. We can t believing
that something bad is going to happen. We have to have faith that everything will okay now.
Anyway, you know how much I ve worked this. I m finally where I want to be and I can t let go
now. I already lost cheer.
My mom nods, choking on the words she wishes to say. She doesn t say another word the rest of
the ride home.
Do you have practice tomorrow? My dad asks as I walk through the door.
Yes, and our first game is Thursday. I answer.

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Ethnographic Research
Introduction
Throughout the field of anthropology, interviews are conducted day in and day out in order to
collect valuable data to contribute to rich ethnographic records on cultures that may not be as
familiar to us as our own. The concept of interviewing is one that has been around for many years,
especially since the shift from armchair anthropology to in the field work. This paper will examine
the pros and cons of face to face interviewing, as well as illuminating the progression to other
methods of qualitative data collection, specifically the use of telephone and email interviewing.
Throughout the examination of these different methods and how using interviews in an
anthropological setting is conducted, it will become clear that the ... Show more content on

Summary Of The Night
He drifted in and out of sleep throughout the night. His mind plagued with what ifs. There had to
be a way to compromise, as he had with the druids. However, there was so much fear instilled
prejudice against magic users that even the peaceful nomads still faced persecution within various
parts of his kingdom. He recalled the old woman whom he and Merlinhad saved from the pyre in
her village. The one who had given him the Horn of Cathbhadh. He knew nothing about her or
what she had been accused of, but he d taken the ancient, magical object. Even after being warned,
he d still used it without regard for the laws of magic and bringing about near disastrous
consequence.
Leon had been correct when he told Arthur that the laws couldn t be changed because of people
like Morgana. What would Arthur have done if he had the gift of magic? Would he have been as
bad as his sister, or his father? It had been over eight years since he d followed the sorceress
Morgause to the ruined temple and met his mother. Or, was it just a trick of magic? To this day, he
wasn t certain if the words the ghost had spoken were true. If it hadn t been for Merlin, Arthur
would have killed his own father for his own use of magic to create an heir that killed his queen.
Although Arthur didn t think that Uther had intentionally agreed, knowing the end result, it still
gave Arthur pause to wonder about magic.

you can see their body working as hard as possible to get as much speed as it can possibly make. I
believe in the gentleness of a horse. After seeing all of that power and strength that a horse can

Unit 506 Understand Child And Young Person Development
Unit 506 Understand Child and Young Person Development
When looking at and discussing a child s development, you have to remember that all children
are different and grow at different rates. Every child will follow the same sequence but they may
not necessarily do it at the same time as each other. For example, you could have two, 6 month
old babies, 1 could already be able to crawl, and the other 1 may not have mastered it yet and may
not until they are a bit older. You must remember that your child is an individual and not group
him with another child and expect him/her to reach the milestones at the same time. It is important
also that a parent/carer, teacher etc., know the expected sequence a child follows, so they can tell
if a child is falling way behind and they may need to intervene to help them along.
Many skills and areas of development overlap. A child will not be able to learn a physical skill
without the development of their cognitive, social and communication skills as well. The areas of
development may be separated but it is important to remember that they do not work on their own
but together.
The aspects of development are:
* Physical
* Communication and Language
* Cognitive/intellectual
* Social
* Emotional
* Behavioural
* Moral

the following scene would play daily at our house: Home from school, my daughter would have

She gives reasoning of why people become addicts and I think it strengthens her essay.
In addition, Ms. Rita Dove also explains in her essay that, It is not that we confuse TV with
reality, but that we prefer it to reality the manageable struggle resolved in twenty six minutes, the
witty repartee with the family circle instead of the grunts and silence common to real families;
the sharpened conflict and defined despair instead of vague anxiety and invisible enemies (Dove
504). This statement is however pretty true because what goes on TV maybe reality and some
may not. For example, on TV now a days we have what we call reality TV and what we call
Cartoons. But, in any case how you see it on TV is not always reality because you can t see what
you re actually watching in person. Even though they do portray the real things that go on around
the world.

well as brings justice to the criminals and the innocent. It acts as a way of eliminating the problem
by killing the person that committed the crimeand ensures the safety of the society. Stephen Joseph
Harper stated that capital punishmentis appropriate and a double murderer should not be repatriated

The Martillion
The Silmarillion is an epic high fantasy novel written by the English author J.R.R Tolkien, but
published by his son, Christopher Tolkien. Written in order to provide some historical background
to Tolkien s previous novels, The Silmarillion has transcended that quality, and went on to rival
both the hobbit and even The Lord of the Ringsin terms of storytelling. It is considerably longer
than The Hobbitbut shorter than LOTR. It tells of the primary happenings of the First Age,
contrary to LOTR and the hobbit, set in the Third Age. This time, Sauron was just a lieutenant of
Melkor, an even worse and powerful villain, the source of evil on Earth.
Ever since it became available in 1977, The Silmarillion was a stunning story. The adventures of
Feanor, the elf, who created the Silmarils, jewels around which the story is centered, and Melkor,
the most powerful being, yet the most evil, is one of the best sagas Tolkien has ever... Show more

Middle Earth history complete its story in a wonderful and satisfying way.
Is this the best fantasy book ever written? In my opinion, almost. It is bettered only by LOTR by a

In conclusion, this book is spectacular. It belongs with LOTR in the bookshelf of classics.

Princess Juliet Short Story
Princess Juliet
The brick road was dusty, The sky was clear, no clouds in sight, and the air felt so good. This
was princess Juliet s first time out of the castle walls. She hated the feeling of being contained
and trapped. The castle was tall, luxurious, and was so big it felt like water, it never ends, but it
was lonely. Juliet s parents had been fighting a lot and Juliet had no one to share her feelings with
about the matter, so she decided she wanted to do something exciting to get her feelings up. She
decided to go out in the town. Juliet had just met a young man named, Jake. He was tall, had long
brown hair, and had eyes as blue as the ocean. He had agreed to show her around the village.
That day princess Juliet, dressed in plain clothes that she had hidden since her mom left them for

she wanted to come back again. Her and Jake had a great time and had made many good
memories together. After Jake showed her around the town and she got to experience the many
new things she had not and probably never would have if she had stayed in the castle, she went back
home.
After she snuck into her tower she got changed back into a dress and was putting the clothes back

Moose Maddon s Death Essay
I believe that Moose Maddons death was an accident. In the story it says Moose
Maddon was a bully to Cecil but Cecil didn t usually retaliate. Cecil is a boy who wants to go to

was an accident because he was drunk and tried to log roll but fell off and died.
The reason I believe that Moose maddons death was an accident is because he was drunk the
night of his death and went on a log and fell. In the text it says I figured it was Moose and
Lefevre coming home drunk from camp three. Moose was intoxicated the night of his death
which makes him clumsy and wobbly. It would be like driving drunk it s just as likely it even
more likely he would fall of a log in the river as he would get into an accident. Also in the story it
says, One day in the fall I will go to the ravine and see how the headline was making it. It still
shocking to think that Maddon, who had been sure footed as a chipmunk, and our best log
rolling contest, had fallen to his death the way he had. Moose Lilly thought he would be able to
walk on the logs because he was one of the best at it. But since he was drunk he would be wobbly

Characteristics Of Bespoke Documents
Outcome 3
3.1 Explain the characteristics of bespoke documents.
Bespoke business documents are documents individually or customised to meet a specific
requirement or purpose within a specific business. They are personalised to suit each business and
can include forms, publicity materials, invoices, business cards, spread sheets, databases,
letterheads, presentations, catalogues, reports, proposals etc. These are important because it places
a professional image on your company, which will attract new potential customers or will keep your
current customers interested. It is important to take into consideration when creating bespoke
documents that the purpose is to give a good impression to other businesses or customers, therefore,
documents need to be professional and well thought out. An untidy, poorly designed documentcan
severely affect an organisation s reputation with its stakeholders. Documents need to be consistent
throughout, this means the organisation s logo needs to be the same on all documents produced,
as well as the general theme, for example, you must use the same font and style like: bold/italic
/underlined etc. Also, it is preferably that in business documents should use no more than two
different fonts, as it may seem unprofessionally with more than two fonts. Fonts need to be
readable, as well as in the correct size; headings need to be larger than the main body of the text in
order to differentiate, and there should also be plenty of white space in

The Only Thing That Rabbi Lipstein
The only thing that Rabbi Lipstein liked talking about as much as talmud, was life in the old
country. His digressions to stories about the old country would occur at random. For example, if
a passage in the talmud was discussing the process of milking a cow, he would share his
knowledge on the topic by recalling how he used to milk cows in his early rural life. Although
most of the students seemed to pay no more attention to him during these stories, I would show
particular interest. If I had dozed off somewhat during the lecture, I would immediately become
alert and listen with great attention. I loved all his stories, even the seemingly mundane ones, like

Why did these stories so appeal to me, as a third generation American, who spoke no Yiddish and
who lacked any strong connection to the old country?
Because I yearned for that foregone Jewish experience. There was something so appealing to me
about being a Jew in yesterday s Europe. I compared Rabbi Lipstein s stories about his early life to
my own experiences. I found being Jewish life in this country to be dry and uninspiring. In
America, a Jew is no different than an Episcopalian or Catholic. I am just an American whose
religious affiliation happens to be Judaism, but besides that I am just like everyone else. While in
Europe, Jews had a distinct identity, their own language and vibrant culture. Though I am
incredibly grateful to the United States for all of the rights and liberties that I am provided, and
though it seems ridiculous to complain about being accepted by the populace, there is something
about this great country that zaps the vitality of foreign cultures and assimilates its many distinct
peoples into a flavorless whole.
For the abundance of stories Rabbi Lipstein told, there was one topic that he never discussed, the
War. His stories all occurred before the year 1939. He never even told us the circumstances of how
he got to this country, that was all left to speculation.
Rabbi Lipstein clears his throat and then asks the class another question pertaining to the required
length of the lulav. As usual, no one raises their hands besides the first

The distinguishing factor between the two is the degree of control over the corporation. The number
of shares owned is not decisive, even a shareholder owning a majority of shares may be a minority

The company must follow the principles partnership and consultation aims at balancing the interest
between major and minor shareholders, and usually do not infringe minorities rights through
guaranteeing at least the following minority rights such as respect of opinion of major shareholders
toward minorities, the right of minorities to be heard on regard of business matters and exit rights.

The OECD principles on Corporate Governance (2004) provide that: Shareholders, including

were frightened. They believed he was a ghost. Jesus said to them not to be afraid. In the Gospel
of Matthew, Peter walked on the water towards Jesus, but doubted himself and began to sink.
Jesus reached out and caught him. After Jesus entered the ship, the storm settled, and they
arrived at land. Christian teachings consider the story a miracle and displays the importance of
faith. Peter didn t believe he could achieve what he set out to do, and ultimately due to this he
didn t succeed. This sacred story is another example of how religion provides certain ways to live
to benefit yourself and others. This interacts with spirituality as these teachings allow people to
develop personally and have a better state of mind. The main symbol evident is the light that
appears out of the darkness when Jesus appears on the surface of the water. This symbol
represents hope as Jesus has come to rescue them from the storm. The light also appeared as Jesus
calmed the storm and so the light would be perceived as a symbol for life and happiness as

Disagreement Analysis
The statement claims that we learn more from people whose views we share than those whose
views we contradict because disagreement can cause stress and inhibit learning. Some people think
that agreement leads to harmony and learning, while disagreement hinders intellectual progress. I
disagree with both the claim and the reason and will discuss situations that illustrate why I consider
the statement misguided.
I disgree with the view that we learn more from those who share our views than those who
contradict it. This comes from my experience being a student in a school in Boston. Although I
believe in the Islamic teachings, I, nonetheless, learned a great deal about science, mathematics,
ethics, and philosophy from my Christian and Jew professors. Here some might think that engaging
in a contentious agrument is what counts as disagreement as opposed ... Show more content on

I would argue that, on the countrary, disagreement enhances learning. I recall in an economics class
I took the professor guided a debate between myself and my colleage. The subject of the debate was
whether we should raise the minimum wage. My view conflicted that of my colleage who thought
that we should instead abolish the concept of the minimum wage. My reasoning was that increasing
the minimum wage would help the middle class and low income families. But my colleage thought
that from the economic theory of demand and price, an increase in the minimum wage would hurt
small businesses as they would be less profitable to run, and thus would result in an increase in
unemployment. What I learned from our discussion was that even though our views differed
drastically, each of us learned about the other s point of view. The experience was both delightful
and enlightening. Thus, disagreement does not cause stress and inhibit learning. In fact, the
opposite is true; disagreement fosters a learning

Eloquent Feelings And Safe Places
Eloquent Feelings and Safe Places Stephen Dunn s poems makes sure to let the reader stop and
think, and as a creative writing teacher he knows how to do just that. Winner of awards such as the
Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, The James Wright Prize ,and the Paterson Award for Sustained Literary
Achievement , his work The Sacred , published back in 1989, shows off his literary genius in
normal experiences and captures the vehement thoughtin his writing that has captured many hearts
of the readers. The Sacred speaks about what a student believes is his sacred space, and what it
means to him. Dunn uses three core poetic devices to not only show that everyone needs an
escape from reality, but also the herd mentality of youth when one has confidence. The nihilistic
ending and the free form moderate style add to the ideals that Dunn tries to present and helps add
a twist ending to the poem when you see the lack of desire for social interactions in the young man
who was the first to speak up. The contrast between his outer presentation and his inside emotions
are shown strongly between the first and second half, as if he only spoke up to get it over with .
The enjambment that pushes through the whole poem create a string of consciousness feeling, as if
a person in the class is slightly nervous to share his response. In the beginning of the poem, Dunn
shows how much this student takes his

eBay Powerseller Essay
The secrets of eBay Power Sellers!
How to MAKE MONEY on eBay
Use this valuable guide as a MONEY MAKING TOOL. Read it from start to finish over and over.
The amount of information and wholesale sources you will find seems overwhelming at first, but
don t be intimidated. Take your time and be patient. It is going to take you several days to check out
the sites because there are just so many items to choose from.
This guide is updated for 2003 and the resources are used by eBay Power Sellers ALL the time.
I have been selling on eBay for some time, almost 3 years now. Almost from the beginning, I
wondered how Power Sellers obtain products so cheap that they can sell on eBay and STILL
MAKE MONEY. Here are THE ANSWERS.
Since eBay has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You will pay a bit more but it is definitely worth it to allow as many people as possible to see your
listing. We try to do a bit of listing everyday from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm (east coast). You don t
want to list your items too late. The most exposure your auction will receive will be during the last
4 hours of your auction. That is the busiest time for bidding on items. If you list too late in the
evening, no one will be willing to stay up just to bid on your item unless they use a software tool
(snipe) that will do it for them.
3. TOOLS: I highly recommend investing in a digital camera. Film and processing are very
expensive. If you plan on doing eBay full time, the camera will pay for itself incredibly fast. I
suggest that the Buyer pays for shipping. You want to make sure you quote their shipping price
correctly. The post office has a list of prices according to weight. It is a good idea to get a list for
your records. We also recommend calling the number on the priority boxes, they will send you
most of what you need for FREE!!!! TAPE, PREPRINTED ADDRESS LABELS, BOXES etc! The
profit margin will decrease if you find yourself paying for these items here and there. You will also
want to ship all of your items out at least 2 or 3 times per week. Buyers want their purchases fast
so try to avoid negative feedback by shipping out the merchandise yourself, or having it drop
shipped as quickly as possible.
4. LISTING: I don t recommend

Listeriosis Case Study
Listeriosis is a life threatening infection which is caused by eating food that has been
contaminated with the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes . This bacterium is most commonly found
in dirt, water, and plants. The people that are most likely to contract this infection are high risk
populations; such as elderly people, pregnant women, young children, and people with
compromised immune systems. It is estimated that 1,600 people become infected with listeriosis
every year, and about 260 people die from the infection, which means 1 in 5 infected can die. A

You could of course go off and find all this but it would simply take so long you probably wouldn
t get around to even trading! Also, and probably most obviously, again you might have already
guessed, all the analysis of this historical data as well as all the constant Forex market
monitoring takes time as well and the chance of making a timely trade are extremely slim. So
these Forex signal services provide traders with highly accurate and timely signals that have be
derived from trend analysis, market monitoring, experience and expertise. The Value of using
signals received from Forex signal providers: The value of subscribing to a Forex signal provider
varies for each trader. Even experienced traders subscribe to these signal providers in order to
have additional data to compare so that they can assess the best trade for them to make and so
minimize their chance of making a losing trade, thus increasing their overall success rate and of
course increase their profits. If you are a newbie trader considering using these signal service

are. If even the experienced Forex traders are exploiting the expertise of these forex signal

Nature Vs Nurture In Criminal Behavior
Criminal behavior has always been a focus for psychologists for several years. When studying
criminal psychology, psychologists engage in many various kinds of investigation and
experimentation to try and find out why criminals commit offence. What is a criminal s motive and
what makes them commit a crime? Is it the responsibility of an individual s genetic makeup that
makes them a criminal or is it the environment in which they are raised and surrounded by that
determines their criminal behavior? Extensive research has been conducted regarding these
questions. Several conclusions have been generated from a number of twin studies, family studies,
adoption studies, and laboratory experiments. There are many conclusions that gear towards both...

Behaviorists argue that people are not born with a violent disposition; rather they learn to think
and act violently as a result of their everyday experiences (Bandura, 1977). Albert Bandura
(1977) states behavior is learned from the environment through the process of observational
learning. This popular behavioral notion is known as the social learning theory. Bandura
believes that humans are active information processors and think about the relationship between
their behavior and its consequences. Studies of family life, for example, show that aggressive
children often model the violent behaviors of their parents. In 1961, Bandura conducted the
famous bobo doll experiment in which children observed the people around them behaving in
various ways. The experiment involved exposing children to two different adult models; an
aggressive model and a non aggressive one. After observing the adults and their aggressive or
non aggressive behavior, the children were later allowed to play in a room with the Bobo doll by
themselves. When they played with the doll by themselves, alone in a room, they began to imitate
the actions they had previously observed by the adults. The children who had observed the adults
aggressively playing with the doll imitated a similar aggressive behavior while playing with the
doll alone. Those who observed the

  • 2. The Better Angels Of Our Nature Today, in a social media ridden world where there s no communication gap, allows news from around the world to be delivered to us in matter of seconds. Almost every day we hear about a shocking act of violence, whether it s a terrorist bombing, a senseless rape or a gruesome murder. These tragedies makes us wonder, What is the world coming to? However, we forget to realize that in fact today s world is much more peaceful compared to how dangerous life was thousands of years ago. As pinker stated, Brutality was once woven into the fabric of daily existence (2). Therefore, in order to understand the violence we witness today, it s important to acknowledge how bad the world was in the past. In this paper, just as pinker did in his book The Better Angels of our Nature , I will also argue that violence has decreased tremendously over the centuries by using numerous evidence and statistical data. The Pacification process, Civilizing process, and other sanctions throughout millenniums are just some of the changes that resulted in the decline of violence throughout history. In his book The Better Angels of our Nature , Pinker uses works from Homeric Greece, evidence from The Old Testament, and early modern Europeto support his claim that after a millennia of bloody violence, human kind is entering a peaceful existence. In order allow readers to understand the violence we witness today, Pinker begins by examining the origins of violence; He uses Chimpanzees who has the traits ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Pride In King Lear King Lear s new personality at the end of Shakespeare s King Lear reveals how pride influences a character and causes mental destruction, eventually leading one to downfall. From the very start of the play, Shakespeare introduces King Lear as a self centered person already filled with enormous pride. King Learportrays his self centered characteristic by expressing his desire to be treated as king without having to bear or perform a king s responsibility. With his pride, King Lear demands affection by showing his superiority over everyone and that he is better than them. However, counteracting King Lear, Cordelia crushes King Lear s pride by demonstrating how he is less important than what he seems. Rapidly, King Lear loses the support of the ... What constitutes this reasoning and why do they persist in their doubts in the face of evidence? Deniers of the Holocaust choose to ignore the facts of this historical event and argue that the allies used it as a way to justify their actions. They believe that the holocaust was a conspiracy cooked up to propagate for the Jews, Israel, and the great powers of World War II. This is owing to the fact that, as much as it should, in theory, lower rent prices and increase the supply of rental properties, it certainly doesn t seem to be the case in the Australian property market. However, to not make any changes to negative gearing does not seem to be helping the property market, nor the government, but seemingly neither will abolishing it. By abolishing negative gearing deductions, the government could run the risk of causing defaults, bankruptcies, and emergency sales as investors struggle or fail to make ends meet with their negatively geared properties, causing properties to flood the housing market and a reduction in the number of rental properties available. Nevertheless, to leave it unchanged allows high marginal tax rate investors to continue to minimise their tax, at the expense of the government, by purposely negatively gearing their investment properties. Developing A Specialized Not For Profit Advocacy Group Our solution is to develop a specialized not for profit advocacy group, which focuses on policy change and bridging the gap between local government, non profits, and the federal government. Furthermore, we will fill the void within these entities with additional resources. Our group will be composed of a full time paid staff, a board of specialized individuals (ex. Lawyers, professors, government officials), and a network of community volunteers. Our staff will handle the day to day operations necessary for an efficiently run business, while our board of specialized individuals will donate their time/services for tasks outside the capabilities of staff members (on an as needed basis). The group of community volunteers will be a tremendous asset to the advocacy group, by providing services to those facing hardship from unemployment. Regardless of a person s position, paid or unpaid, each member of our advocacy group will work as partners of the organization. It will function as a democratic body, as opposed to the bureaucratic structure mostly seen in government and nonprofit agencies. Our advocacy group focuses on 3 aspects to aid in reducing unemployment 1) Implantation of resources for the general unemployment population; 2) Acting as the middleman between government and the private sector services; 3) Policy Reform. Newark has many nonprofits that assist with career services, job matching, and training, however they are specialized for particular groups of people. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Unit 506 Understand Child And Young Person Development Unit 506 Understand Child and Young Person Development When looking at and discussing a child s development, you have to remember that all children are different and grow at different rates. Every child will follow the same sequence but they may not necessarily do it at the same time as each other. For example, you could have two, 6 month old babies, 1 could already be able to crawl, and the other 1 may not have mastered it yet and may not until they are a bit older. You must remember that your child is an individual and not group him with another child and expect him/her to reach the milestones at the same time. It is important also that a parent/carer, teacher etc., know the expected sequence a child follows, so they can tell if a child is falling way behind and they may need to intervene to help them along. Many skills and areas of development overlap. A child will not be able to learn a physical skill without the development of their cognitive, social and communication skills as well. The areas of development may be separated but it is important to remember that they do not work on their own but together. The aspects of development are: * Physical * Communication and Language * Cognitive/intellectual * Social * Emotional * Behavioural * Moral Source: Burnham, Baker 2010, Supporting Teaching and Learning, pg150 Physical Development Physical is the development of the gross motor skills and the fine motor skills. Written in order to provide some historical background to Tolkien s previous novels, The Silmarillion has transcended that quality, and went on to rival both the hobbit and even The Lord of the Ringsin terms of storytelling. It is considerably longer than The Hobbitbut shorter than LOTR. It tells of the primary happenings of the First Age, contrary to LOTR and the hobbit, set in the Third Age. This time, Sauron was just a lieutenant of Melkor, an even worse and powerful villain, the source of evil on Earth. Ever since it became available in 1977, The Silmarillion was a stunning story. I believe that Moose Madden s death was an accident because he was drunk and tried to log roll but fell off and died. The reason I believe that Moose maddons death was an accident is because he was drunk the night of his death and went on a log and fell. Bespoke business documents are documents individually or customised to meet a specific requirement or purpose within a specific business. They are personalised to suit each business and can include forms, publicity materials, invoices, business cards, spread sheets, databases, letterheads, presentations, catalogues, reports, proposals etc. These are important because it places a professional image on your company, which will attract new potential customers or will keep your current customers interested. It is important to take into consideration when creating bespoke documents that the purpose is to give a good impression to other businesses or customers, therefore, documents need to be professional and well thought out. Documents need to be consistent throughout, this means the organisation s logo needs to be the same on all documents produced, as well as the general theme, for example, you must use the same font and style like: bold/italic /underlined etc. Also, it is preferably that in business documents should use no more than two different fonts, as it may seem unprofessionally with more than two fonts. Although most of the students seemed to pay no more attention to him during these stories, I would show particular interest. Why did these stories so appeal to me, as a third generation American, who spoke no Yiddish and who lacked any strong connection to the old country? Because I yearned for that foregone Jewish experience. There was something so appealing to me about being a Jew in yesterday s Europe. I compared Rabbi Lipstein s stories about his early life to my own experiences. I found being Jewish life in this country to be dry and uninspiring. In America, a Jew is no different than an Episcopalian or Catholic. I am just an American whose religious affiliation happens to be Judaism, but besides that I am just like everyone else. While in Europe, Jews had a distinct identity, their own language and vibrant culture. Though I am incredibly grateful to the United States for all of the rights and liberties that I am provided, and though it seems ridiculous to complain about being accepted by the populace, there is something about this great country that zaps the vitality of foreign cultures and assimilates its many distinct peoples into a flavorless whole. For the abundance of stories Rabbi Lipstein told, there was one topic that he never discussed, the War. His stories all occurred before the year 1939. He never even told us the circumstances of how he got to this country, that was all left to speculation. When the first saw Jesus on the water they were frightened. They believed he was a ghost. Jesus said to them not to be afraid. In the Gospel of Matthew, Peter walked on the water towards Jesus, but doubted himself and began to sink. Jesus reached out and caught him. After Jesus entered the ship, the storm settled, and they arrived at land. Christian teachings consider the story a miracle and displays the importance of faith. The nihilistic ending and the free form moderate style add to the ideals that Dunn tries to present and helps add a twist ending to the poem when you see the lack of desire for social interactions in the young man who was the first to speak up.
