This document summarizes a survey of over 3,000 physicians about their experiences with electronic health records (EHRs) and meaningful use. Some of the key findings from the survey include: 1) Physician satisfaction with an EHR was highly correlated with involvement in the EHR selection process, 2) At least 3-5 days of EHR training was necessary to achieve the highest satisfaction levels, and 3) Nearly half of physicians received 3 days or less of training, which was insufficient for ease of use. The survey provides insights that can help optimize EHR selection and use.
