AMD is a strong supporter of Open Compute and has been engaged with it from the beginning. They are introducing a new platform specification, codenamed "Roadrunner", to support general purpose and cloud infrastructure, high performance compute, and storage for financial services. The specification defines a 16" x 16.5" motherboard that can support 1U, 1.5U, 2U, or 3U form factors with flexible component population options. It is designed to support both traditional rack and Open Rack infrastructure with open machine management and is available on the Open Compute website.
